Seeking Vengeance
In a small town, a bakery stood.
The confections for sale weren’t very good.
They were all burnt and lacked any flavor
It was definitely not something one would savor
The place was dirty and lacked places to sit
It had rats in the kitchen and was poorly lit
But it was the only one so ponies came
And bought treats from the dame
Who ran the shop with little grace
For she knew her shop they would never replace.
One day when all seemed quite
Across the bakery there was quite the riot
Because another bakery had opened there
And a sweet aroma filled the air.
The new place was bright and had chairs inside
It was owned by a husband and his new bride
The old baker looked at the scene and laughed
“That couple must be so daft
There’s no way ponies will flee
For all who live here are loyal to me”
But she was wrong she soon found out
As ponies filed to go to this new hangout
She looked at this thoroughly ashamed
And after awhile she exclaimed,
“They left after I said that they won’t?
What does their place have that I don’t?
Is it because their place is clean and bright
When mine isn’t much of a sight?
Is it because their treats are sweet
When mine taste like overcooked meat?
I’ll admit I’m filled with jealousy.
This cannot go on, so says me.”
The baker then thought of evil schemes
To break the competition from the seams
That’s when an idea popped in her head
To crush those who had newly wed.
She put a sign on their store
That said that they were no more
And they had moved to a new town
Because everyone here was a clown.
Unfortunately the couple was wise
And could see the sign with their eyes.
They took it down with little hesitation
Much to the old baker's frustration.
She tried again this time with a detour
That led hungry ponies to her door.
What happened next left her in shock.
All of the ponies continued to walk
Right past her store as if obsolete
To the still open bakery across the street.
In her anger she went in after hours
To turn on all of their sprinkler showers
So that all their treats would turn to mush
And cover their floor in sticky slush.
To her dismay, they had some spare
To which she cried “This is unfair!
Must they plan for everything!?
All these failures are starting to sting.
I should go and tell them what for
For stealing sales from my store.”
And so she stormed up to the pair
And gave them her best angry glare
“How dare you steal my shoppers
They should be giving me their coppers”
The two looked at her for a while
Trying their best not to smile
Soon the young mare spoke
“Surely you must joke
We stole nothing from you miss”
“Then why do they go here” she hissed
“I’ve tried everything including attack
To get all of them back
I’ve tried lying and tricks
But yours is the one everyone picks
Why? Why you and not me?
I should have their loyalty!”
The young woman laughed in reply
Then she said with a sigh
“You were the one who did all that.
With all the fury of a spoiled brat.
You tried so hard to bring us down
And to be the only one in town.
But did you not notice in your angry haze
That your sign has read closed for that past few days”

Since the first chapter wasn't that long I decided to do a second one from the other couple's perspective. Enjoy!
Setting Up Shop
Today was a great day for Pastry
He finally wed his beloved Sherry
And together they would start
A bakery filled with heart.
One that was built from their love
And would sell treats that tasted like they came from above.
That was their dream for as long as the dated
So when the shop finally opened they celebrated.
Their dreams would finally come true
And they would make plenty of ponies happy too.
The only problem was the town was small
Meaning there were no bakeries at all
Beside from one that was locally famous
Even though all the treats tasted heinous.
They knew that they could not compete
Without feeling like a bakery repeat.
And to make things worse for the pair
The other bakery was right over there
Across the street from their little shop
And this tragedy they could not stop.
Despite the problems they had to face
They opened their store without disgrace.
The first few hours were very slow
As nopony wanted to go
To a place so unfamiliar and new
When they could go to the place they all knew.
That was until the first pony came
Looking for something that was not the same
As the gross food across the street
That tasted anything but sweet.
The couple was happy to serve the mare
And she seemed to think that the treat was quite fair
She left and said that she would tell others.
The couple was delighted to serve friends of hers.
Soon their small shop was booming
As all the ponies came zooming
When they heard that this new place was great,
Better than the other shop that tasted like bait.
The couple couldn’t have felt more glee
That their shop was sold out by three.
When they came home they slept nice and sound
Knowing their store had broken new ground.
When they arrived the next day they were shocked
To find that their store was locked
And that there was a sign on the door
That claimed that they had moved their store
They tore of the sign without a second thought
Not knowing that they were being fought.
The next day they saw their street was blocked
Even so ponies flocked
They found it quite odd to see a detour
As there was nothing wrong with the street the housed their store.
The next day was the worst of all
As somepony seemed to have the gaul
To drench their store and melt their wares
Luckily for them they had spares.
It was at this point they were curious
Who was so furious
That they would try to take them down
And run them out of town.
They didn’t have to look long however
As their opponent wasn’t clever
As they were now walking to them
And everything became so clear then.
