A Great And Powerful Party
A pony enters on a bakery
Pinkie entered the bakery in a hurry.
“Mrs cake, you said you needed me with a super, ultra, mega, EXTREEEEME URGENCY! So I came as fast as I could.” said Pinkie watching Mrs Cake prepare at least five desserts at the same time.
“Pinkie, just in time! We just received one of the biggest orders for a party we ever had. We urgently need your help to prepare it - it will be the birthday of Mayor Baltimare's son and he wants it to be perfect! ”
"You can leave it to me, Mrs Cake!" Pinkie puffed out her chest and saluting with her fringe. “In a moment I'll come back here with the preparations ready and then I'll start helping you with the food." She said, quickly leaving to her party preparation cave.
"Pinkie wait!" Mrs Cake bit Pinkie's tail , preventing her from running while balancing pots with dough on her legs from the multi tasks she was doing. “There is one more thing that was required by Mayor Baltimare. He said he wants something different, a magic theme made by-“
“The Great And Powerfull Trixie!”
The Unicorn appeared from a sudden explosion of smoke, making an exaggerated pose, cerpentines flying all over the place. Mrs Cake desperately tried to prevent them from falling into her dough.
"TRIXIE?!" Pinkie was in shock.
“Mayor Baltimare 's son is a huge fan of the Great and Powerful Trixie. He and his parents went on pretty much all my last performances with Starlight and he wanted you, and the Cakes, to help me make a big and powerful party, a match for the grandiosity of Trixie.” the unicorn said, convinced and excited with the idea of being the theme of someone's birthday party.
She never been so popular like that before and her ego was boosted.
“Well…I think we can make this work.”
"Great! There's a lot to be prepared and we don't have much time. I need you to start organizing everything at this address ” Mrs Cake handled the address over.
They took the piece of paper and left, but not before Trixie slammed the door for the dramatic effect. That made Mrs Cake unbalanced, and she droped all the pots on the floor - screaming in exaspperation when she saw the damage.
Pinkie and Trixie arrived at the address, a large empty hall with a elegant structure and a stage with a thick red curtain.
“Oh my Celestia! I can hardly believe it! This whole structure and this stage only for Trixie's presentation" She made a pause. "And her powerful friend Starlight Glimmer of course, I almost forgot with all this exicitement! ” said the unicorn, jumping around every corner.
“Not just for your presentation, but also for the Mayor Baltimare's son birthday party - which he wants us to do together. So… What are your ideas so far? I'll be happy to explain to you eeeeevery little thing you need that you need to know about parties: balloon colors, balloon shapes, gifts, ties, table decoration and PARTY CANNONS !! ”said pinkie as she fired her cannon, filling the ground around them with confetti.
"Can we have fireworks?"
"YES! No, wait, I don't think it's a good idea to use fireworks in here. Well, we'll figure it out." said Pinkie also excited about the situation. So far it seemed like everything would be much better than she had imagined when she saw Trixie.
“This party will be perfect in the smallest details and it will be the most impressive birthday party that a foal
have you seen! He is one of the biggest fans of Trixie and deserves a big party, so everyone wants the great and powerful Trixie at their birthday parties! ”
Pinkie brought a huge box with balloons. "I think we can start with balloons. Usually I'm ready with full baloons just waiting for a party, but none of them would fir the theme, so I think we should paint small and powerless trixies that will get great and powerful when they fill up."
“I liked the idea. I'm not very excited with the "small and powerless" part, but I loved the "big and powerful!" one.
"Great! While you were talking, I started to paint some of them. So I paint them and you fill it! ”
Pinkie started to paint the balloons at an incredible speed making several very well-designed Trixies. The pile of balloons to fill started to get huge and Trixie tryed hard to fill the balloons and keep the pace.
Suddenly she just felt dizzy, falling on the ground and sinking into the pile with millions of empty balloons.
“We don't have time to rest now, silly. Even though the balloons really look comfy." Pinkie throws herself on the pile of balloons making them fly everywhere. "Weeee!"
“Lungs... aren't... big and powerful… enough.” said Trixie, slowly recovering the air.
“Oh yeah, I forgot that you’re not used to balloons. I think you better draw the little Trixies! I mean, you are a Trixie, so..! ”
“…Sounds...good. Just...one…minute.”
Trixie gradually re-composed herself and stood up, still a little dizzy. Pinkie quickly gave her a palette and a brush.
"HA! It will be very easy with Trixie's great artistic skills. ”
She took a baloon in her hoof and started painting. Pinkie inflateed and deflated her whole body quickly, filling all the empty balloons with speed and efficiency.
Trixie finished her drawing - it was way less perfect than Pinkie's, but in a few minutes her creation was ready.
“Behold, Pinkie! The mini Trixie! Isn't she adorable? It is a great and beautiful masterpiece! It took me long, but I did it!”
“Uuuuuh, it’s very nice! You just gotta do five hundred more of them on the other balloons and then we can move to the next part!”
“Five hundred more?!”
Finally they just filled the absurd amount of balloons that was needed for the party.
“Pinkie, can we do a break now?”
“Of course not, silly, we’re just getting started!”
They kept working and tidying up the big hall and the party stuff.
"So Trixie,I don't think we ever got to talk much. You kind of showed up in Ponyville, driving everyone crazy and trying to get rid of Twilight over and over again-"
Trixie was embarrassed. She blushed, looking down.
“Yeah, that was the old and past Trixie… i'm sorry ... ”
"Then, I remember you saving everypony with Discord, Starlight and Thorax and then flying a pig!"
“Oh yeah, it was a great and powerful rescue from the good and renewed Trixie! But that thing with the pig was weird.”
“So when you showed up earlier today I was a little 'WHAAAT?!'. But now, talking more with you, I realize we started with the wrong hoof - so I think we should start from the beginning again! ” Pinkie said, extending a friendly hoof to Trixie."Hi! I'm Pinkie Pie! ”
Slightly confused, Trixie extended a hoof back and greeted the earth pony.
“Hi, Pinkie, I'm the great and... you know what, just Trixie. Trixie Lulamoon.”
Pinkie smiled and the two went back to work.
“So, how did you become the Great and powerful Trixie?"
“Well, I wasn't the best with magic, I failed to enter Celestia's unicorn school. One day, I was minding my own business and I camed across the great and powerfull Hoofdini. He was doing a show in my hometown - and I had never seen anything like that. Seeing him doing those tricks was more impressive than any unicorn magic I had ever seen. You know, he did an escape number just like the one Starlight and I once did."
"Hey, I was there! It was that thing with the manticore, wasn't it?"
"Exactly, Pinkie! I'm glad you remember. Well, where it was I? Oh yeah, talking about Hoofdine. he also did a firework show that day and it was so beautiful - the best ones I have ever seen. After that, I knew that magic was what I wanted to do with my life and no one would stand in my way! I would be great and powerful just like him and nothing would stop me. So I used all the bits I had to buy my wagon and traveled all over Equestria. And in the end, Ponyville was the only place that found me really great and powerful… ”
“Wow, this is a great story. I'm sorry that not everypony liked your magic.”
"That's okay. It's also my fault for the way I acted with my audience..."
"I think your magic is really great!"
"Really?! Even seeing the others doing sonic rainbooms, time spells, teleports, chaotic magic, do you still think my magic is great? ”
"Of course, silly, only you can do magic the way you do magic and your magic is as magic as any other magic!"
"I'm so glad you think so! Your parties are also amazing. I would say, even great and powerful!"
"Hey! That gave me an idea! ”
The night came and the guests started to arrive. The hall was decorated with magic themed decorations and many images of the Trixie everywhere; there were some posters of her with the Starlight and the balloons were fixed to the ceiling with lights that lit and made the Trixies drawn on them shine and illuminate the hall. The tables had a red fabric on top and a top hat with flowers coming out of it. Many writings and banners saying happy birthday were also hanging on all sides, with a huge one above the stage.
After everyone arrived, Pinkie closed the doors and stood around the room watching the stage carefully. The curtains opened.
Trixie and Starlight started their great magic show. Then Pinkie's idea came into play when the party items started to interact with the magic and make beautiful visual effects that worked like fireworks.
Plush rabbits jumped out of the hats on the tables, several other objects in the room moved and other things happened, all at Trixie's command. Behind the scene was Pinkie, who activated the tricks while everyone watched the stage in wonder, a real spectacle.
The curtains closed and the show ended, being acclaimed by everypony beating their hooves on the wooden floor. Trixie came down from the stage cheering and talking to Starlight while the little birthday foal came running towards her, curling up a little in his cape - that was identical to Trixie's and much bigger than him. He hugged his heroine, who got no reaction.
Being loved, having fans, and being huged by fillies, it was all new to Trixie. She held out a hoof and hugged him back.
Meanwhile, Mayor Baltimare came to talk with Pinkie Pie.
“This party was really amazing, Miss Pie. It made my little boy very happy and the magic was the best I've ever seen in my life. You really know how to have a party”
"Thank you very much, Mayor Baltimare, but none of this would be possible if it weren't for the great and powerful Trixie".
