Cayde! CAYDE!" A small ball of floating machinery yelled "5 more minutes" the grumpy hunter said as he rolled over "Cayde, we died. We're in a new world and I dont sense any other Guardians or technology anywhere." The machine said "Wait, you're right. You died, I died.....wait how am I here? What is this place?" The Hunter looked to see he was in a clearing in some forest. "It appears to be a forest with a very odd type of energy to it. Similar to light. But slightly different and...sinister" the Machine said "Ghost, stand by for resurrection. Let's go check this place out" Cayde said They walked off into the wooded abyss "So what do you think happened? Were WE Resurrected by an unknown force? We're no longer in the prison. Or anywhere near the solar system. We dont even seem to be in the same region of space as the constellations are otherworldly." The ghost questioned "You have a point. But let's first see if this planet has any intelligent life. I'm hungry and I can really go for something to eat" Cayde put his hand on Ace of Spade's. "Wait. How do I have my gun. Didn't that ugly bastard take it?" Cayde asked to no one specific. "Cayde, reading life signatures 8 o'clock." His ghost said "You're a lot more talkative than I remember." Cayde said "You were always talking to your friends. I just didn't feel the need to join the conversations." The ghost replied "What the-" Cayde said as he seen an odd sight. In front of him a Faded yellow mini horse with wings and a pink mane walked down a path. Just barely illuminated by the moonlight. "Should I get close, it seems to be humming a form of melody. That's a sign of intelligence. Maybe it can give us a clue as to where we are" Cayde suggested to his ghost. "It might be a good idea, but say it be hostile it might be a bett-h-hey...Cayde!" The Ghost yelled at Cayde The horse turned around at the noise. "Look, good job. Now it's aware of us." Cayde said sarcastically It seemed to scream and run off. "WAIT! I'M NOT GONNA HURT YA! I ONLY WANNA KNOW WHERE I AM!" Cayde yelled _________________________ "WAIT, IM NOT GONNA HURT YA! I ONLY WANNA KNOW WHERE I AM!" The mysterious creature yelled 'It speaks perfect equestrian but I've never seen a creature like that. I gotta find Twilight!' Fluttershy thought to herself as she checked to see if the creature was still behind her. It wasn't. "Oumph!" Fluttershy ran head first into a timberwolf "oh no" was all she could mutter before turning and running the other direction only to be cut off by another timberwolf "HELP!!" She screamed _________________________ "Well that didn't work. I wonder if this path leads to a town or something" Cayde said "Judging by it's condition it's traveled almost daily. So you might be on to something" His Ghost replied "Well let's continue then. Find a town and hopefully a way back to the Vanguard. Wait, I remember dying....is this an afterlife?" Cayde pondered making a very dramatic thinking gesture "Cayde, we need to be serious we're in foreign territory and on a planet we dont know." His ghost scolded him "This is my serious face, can't yo-" Cayde was cut off "HELP!!" A mysterious feminine voice yelled "Ghost, stand by for resurrection. I don't know who you are but you clearly are in trouble, and as a Guardian it's my job to keep you safe." Cayde said to himself as he sprinted to the source of the scream. "Cayde, im picking up nearly 40 large life forms and one the size of the small equine we encountered a little while ago." The ghost stated Cayde seen a large group of wooden creatures encircling a small Yellow winged horse. He jumped over the creatures with a double jump and drew Ace of Spades. *BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG* Cayde killed a large number of the creatures but after 2 cylinders of ammo he realized he was gonna need something a little more. _________________________ "Fluttershy thought this was the end when of nowhere, the creature from earlier landed right next to her. She heard the sound of fireworks and the wolves started dying. After about 12 explosions, the creature stood still in the middle "If you bad guys don't leave her alone you'll get a taste of a true Hunter!" The creature warned. The wolves stopped and looked at eachother. They all charged the creature at once. "I gave you a chance." The creature said as he was engulfed in a bright light More explosions went off. Fluttershy watched in fear and awe as this creature managed to single handedly took down a small army of Timberwolves. The creature turned to stare at her. He walked over slowly and nealed next to her. She flinched a little as he got closer. "Ghost, scan her. Does she have any injuries?" The creature said to a small floating machine "She seems to just have a heightened heart rate." A feminine voice came from the 'ghost' "Hey, I'm Cayde-6. I'm an Exo Hunter. Who are you?" The creature introduced herself 'This is an odd creature. Most definitely not from this planet. I can't even mutter a word.' She thought to herself still frozen in fear "Oh c'mon. I'm pretty sure you can talk. Was it not you who screamed for help? You're the one who needed help right? Because if not *whistle* that'd be awkward." Cayde joked a little trying to lighten the mood Fluttershy nodded 'yes' in confirmation she was the one in need. "So can you speak or am I scary? How about if I take my hood down? Is that a little less intimidating?" Cayde asked Fluttershy nodded again. 'Why is his skin so shiny? Why do his eyes glow blue? Why does his mouth glow when he talks?' All things Fluttershy wants to ask but cannot "Well I'm gonna set up camp out here. Got plenty of firewood. You're welcome to join" Cayde chuckled slightly as he grabbed the sticks from the wolves Author's Note There ya have it. That's the first chapter of a new story im writing. "So I'm assuming that we're here to stay....so if that means no going back. Then so be it. But first we need to build a home." Cayde said to his ghost "We have plenty of forest around us. We could fairly easil-" his ghost was cut off "Sh sh sh sh. Suuundance, my friend. We could always just build a treehouse. Yes, I'm a genius I know." Cayde said "um, y-you c-can stay with m-me." The small pegasus said hiding her face "I mean hey, I'm not complainin' but i dont wanna be a burden." Cayde said "N-no it's fine. I have a spare room. I don't want you out here. Its not safe. This forest contains monsters that are very dangerous." The pegasus explained. "Well, little one. If im your new houseguest, what's your name?" Cayde said. "I-I'm, F-fluttershy" 'Fluttershy' said "Sooooo...by the moons position I can assume its nearly midnight...so we should probably get some sleep. I wanna be up for breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day." Cayde said the last part with a wink "Right, w-we must be going. It's late." Fluttershy said walking in the direction of her cottage _____________________ "you own a petting zoo?" Cayde asked as they arrived "Well I help the animals and take care of them." Fluttershy answered. She's already feeling more comfortable around this odd creature. Which she finds odd "Ooo" Cayde got excited when he seen the chickens "Oh boy here we go." A feminine voice came from next to Fluttershy. "what exactly are you if you don't mind me asking?" Fluttershy questioned "my name is Sundance. I'm the ghost who was assigned to Cayde. He's a Hunter Guardian. We've been on many adventures over the years, saved lives, lost bets, and then we got killed. Now we're here." Sundance explained "Well, you can stay here with me. I'm sure Cayde will like it here." She said pointing a hoof at Cayde Cayde lifted a rooster above his head "It's Colonel!!!" He said enthusiastically "Wouldn't it be Colonel the 2nd?" Sundance joked and Cayde got an 'oh shit you're right' face "Colonel the second it is!" Cayde chuckled "He's an odd creature, but I find him to have a free spirit. I usually don't fare well to new people. Though, with him it's difficult to feel uneasy around." Fluttershy explained "are you sure he's tired?" She also asked "For traveler's sake Cayde-6! Its late we need to sleep." Sundance yelled at Cayde, getting his attention. "Sorry, he needs rest. I'm as much for jokes as him, but when I sense him getting tired I kinda have to enforce it. He's a Guardian. He needs rest when necessary." Sundance explained. "Very well then, I shall show you two to your room." Fluttershy said as she trotted over and opened the door to her house. Sundance floated in, and Cayde bumped his horn on the low doorframe. "Wow this house is tiny, but I do appreciate the kindness. I just hope I can fit on the bed." Cayde joked. He crouched and whispered in Fluttershy's ear "psst, you got a little doggy bed for her?" He said with a childish chuckle. "Hehe, no unfortunately I don't" Fluttershy said with a smirk and small chuckle "So let's go hit the hay. We probably got big business stuff to do with the leaders of this planet." Cayde said "I will contact Twilight tomorrow. She'll have a field day with you. She's always reading sci-fi novels and loves the unknown. She was always wondering when aliens from space would attack." She said with a chuckle "Maybe I'll write to her tonight so she sees it in the morning." She said "Aaalright. Lets catch some z's Sundance. Thanks again for a place to stay. I really do appreciate it" Cayde said with a smile. _____________________ "It is indeed a strange creature but you said he wasn't dangerous?" An unknown voice said "He actually saved my life. I was surrounded by Timberwolves and he effortlessly took about 50 down. He's a skilled warrior but he shows good spirit" The voice of Fluttershy was heard. "So if you go wake him he won't attack or cause a ruckus? We both remember the situation with the hydra you helped" the voice replied rather sarcastically *Click* "Can you two quiet down a little? Some one with looks as dangerous as these needs his beauty rest." Cayde said putting his head on his pointer and thumb. "OH! You must be that Twilight Fluttershy was talking about. Hi nice to meet ya!" Cayde put his hand out "what. the. buck." Twilight stared in awe "Y-Y-YOU'RE A ROBOT. HOW DO YOU SPEAK WITH SUCH INTELLIGENCE?" Twilight was loosing her mind "Some company Bray something managed to conver conciousness and memory into downloadable files. They created multiple programs such as the need to eat, sleep, sex drive, and emotions. To prevent DER." Cayde said. "DER is basically where the mind rejects the new body. Yes, I did my homework" Cayde said a little too proudly. "Well Cayde i know your first name thanks to Fluttershy here, but could I get your full name?" Twilight asked with her notebook out. "The name is Cayde-6, my occupation 'was' Hunter Vanguard" he saluted over dramatically. "Hunter Vanguard?" Twilight asked "I'm a hunter. Im a form of Guardian that was resurrected by the Traveler." Cayde explained ____________________ "So basically you're an 'Exo' and you're a trained hunter Guardian. You were part of a high rank in the 'Vanguard' and you were killed by a guy named Uldren Sov" Twilight asked "Yup. You hit the nail on the head." Cayde said with a finger gun "So you're here to stay huh? Twilight asked "Yup and since I'm dead in my world same with Sundance I'm sure theres no way for either of us to get back." Cayde said "Well that just means we have to get you registered as a citizen and get you a job" Twilight said "Sounds great! Sundance wake up. We're finally going to meet a princess!" The Exo is a part of the human race. The only difference is that he is made of metal with a human soul and emotions instead of flesh and blood. He is completely capable of all the things a sentient being would be." Sundance explained "So his pet speaks for him?" A dark blue horse asked the white "Sundance will you let me speak? Listen uuhh...Sunbutt?" "This is why I speak for you" Sundance grumbled "Celestia" 'Celestia' said with a flat expression "And Luna" 'Luna' said with a small snicker "Celestia and Luna. I am here not of my own will, BUT! I believe that it is my destiny to be here and protect your people!" Cayde said overheroically as he tried to make his cloak flow "*grunt* how do you two do that?" He said as he pointed at their manes that flowed under no breeze. "Well what skill do you possess? If you wish to serve my people you must have some war experience." "Sundance, roll the tape." Cayde said spinning his finger in the air. "We can access your memories Cayde. Would that be easier?" Luna said "WOAH! You can read minds!?" Cayde said with a enthusiastic tone "That we can" Celestia said "You both can?! That's awesome! Hold on, hold on. What am i thinking about right now?" Cayde said putting his pointer fingers on his temples "Spicy ramen." Luna said "Woah. That. Is. AMAZING! Sundance are you seeing this?" Cayde said as he turned to his ghost "Yes I am. Princess, he is a skilled warrior. He and I are here because he was killed, as was I. He was k.i.a. normally i could resurrect him from death but couldn't as i was killed before him. Now seeing as this is not a darkness zone i see the light reaches here. So if he were to be killed in this room right now i could bring him back." The ghost explained to the Princesses "C'mon, hit me! Channel some magic stuff I wanna show you!" Cayde said patting his chest "Sister are you sure about this? Celestia asked "He literally wants me to kill him. His pet said she can bring him back to life. We can learn something great from this" Luna said as she trotted towards Cayde "Are you sure of this?" Luna asked Cayde "Does the moon set and rise?" Cayde asked "Very well." She charged a strong spell and shot him straight in the chest blasting a large hole in his chest. His body flew about 10 feet and he smacked the wall. "Now, I will resurrect him" Sundance said as she flew over to him. All the little puzzle like pieces of he floated around her and odd blue energy channelled around her Before he even stood back up he said "Princess Luna, I must say. You pack quite the punch heheh" Cayde said as he sait up with the hole gone entirely "By the moon. You weren't kidding" Luna said "Why would I?" Cayde asked "You're more of a jester than a knight if im being honest" Celestia stated "That's.....yeah that's fair. Anywhoo. What's goin on with me becoming a citizen. I introduced myself, told you my origin story. quite an amazing tale it is. I showed you my capabilities. Well actually not all of them. There is one more. Can one of you two like...conjure up a bad guy or summon a monster?" Cayde asked The two princesses looked at eachother questionably. "Very well but I will create a shield around you and the monster so it does not harm us or the throne room." Celestia said The bubble formed and cayde was placed infront of a hydra. "Oh yay! A big one!" Cayde laughed Cayde-6 casts Golden Gun He was engulfed in solar energy as he shot all 3 heads in succession and killed the hydra instantly "Wow. That was actually really impressive" Celestia said with some shock in her eyes "I know I'm awesome." Cayde said "That was...." Celestia stood up and trotted over to Cayde "Cayde, that was solar energy...'my', energy. How...how did you use it?" Celestia was mere inches away from Cayde's face Cayde backed up a little "woah Nelly, calm down I just used my super. It uses solar energy yes, but it has nothing to do with you. I just use it in tight situations. It takes a while to charge back up though." Cayde explained "So you did not just channel energy from my sun?" Celestia asked "No how could I even do that? Im just one guy" Cayde said "Well that is some power for a mortal" Celestia scoffed "What? I don't know why you're so upset" Cayde asked "Sister, you are being inappropriate. From here on out Cayde is a citizen of this kingdom. Until a home is built he will be staying with me in my Chambers, end of story. This meeting is dismissed! Cayde. Come with me" Luna stormed off "Looks like you made her mad" Cayde said as he put his hands in his pockets and walked after Luna "Buck" was all Celestia muttered ____________________________ "So you got a second bed or am i sleeping on the floor?" Cayde asked poking the bed testing the softness "Well.....no....and no. I figured we could share it." Luna slowly realized her mistake "So its not even my 4th day here and I'm sharing a bed with royalty" Cayde said with his head on his hand "well there was Mara Sov. She's royalty so I guess it wouldn't be the first time" Cayde pondered "Hey! Joker, it's not anything intmate i just don't wan't a guest sleeping on the floor. In fact if you like I will sleep on the floor." Luna said with a huge blush across her face "Luna, Im just yankin' your chain. I know it's nothing intimate but how about we go out and about so we can find a good spot for my new digs. I want a nice view and some privacy but also easy access to the community." Cayde said spreading his arms while looking at the ceiling. "Well i think I know just the spot." Luna said walking out of her chambers. "OH! and can it be a treehouse? Sundance loves treehouses!" Like you but with black skin a red horn, eyes and mouth. They also wore a cloak and a similar attire" Luna said "Oh her? She's just my favorite guardian. We went on a few adventures together. It was fun." Cayde said "Was she a significant other? Like a romantic partner?" Luna asked Cayde's eyes glowed an almost purple rather than their iconic blue. (How he blushes) "W-what nooooo....pssh nah never. Ikora always made jokes about it though. The battlefield is no place for love as the blueberry always told me." Cayde said "Ikora? Blueberry?" Luna questioned "Oh just some friends of mine from back on the tower. I miss'm but there's no goin back. Im not gonna forget them. But since im an exo i live basically forever and what is a long life if not spent with friends. Amirite? Or amirite?.......I'm right" Cayde explained with a small quip at the end "We can assure you that your colorful personality will be appreciated by a lot of ponies. They will find you more inviting rather than scary." Luna reassured Cayde "So anyway. Is there anyway I could nab a sandwich? I'm kinda hungry" Cayde asked patting his metal stomach "Well there's the service bell. Im giving you permission to use it. Dont abuse it though. If you do I will revo-" Luna was cut off *DING* *DING* *DING* "I NEED 50CC'S OF SANDWICH STAT!!" Cayde yelled while dinging the bell very violently. "Cayde! That's not necessary. You simply ding the bell and send them a list of what you want. You have a horn so you Can probably teleport your list there." Luna explained "What does my beautiful horn have to do with this?" Cayde asked "Can you not use magic?" Luna asked "Well I can use light. Light allows me to do stuff like this" Cayde said as he summoned a small stick and cowbell of light "What the....." Luna was confused "The light is how I use my super, generate ammo for my gun, summon my sparrow, come back to life, and most importantly it's how my friend Sundance was born" he said gesturing to Sundance looking off the Balcony "That's interesting. But write a list of what you're hungry for, and I'll tele-" "Spicy Ramen" Cayde cut Luna off with the food he wanted "Oh...um, yeah" Luna wrote Spicy ramen on a paper and poofed it away to be made by the Chefs "So you control the night. Must be a cool job" Cayde said walking over to her balcony doors. Luna followed him out onto the balcony He pulled down his hood "So...you can walk dreams. So if I had a dream you can see it?" Cayde said still looking out at the horizon. "Yes i can. I can also read minds as I said. And to be honest Cayde I've sensed a bit of dread. Not a lot, but there is a little." Luna said walking next Cayde and hopping her fron hoobes on the railing "You never read my mind. You were gonna see how i died. Its quite a display. Oh and you might wanna rewind far enough to the epic entrance" Cayde said leaning on the rail backwards. _____________________ Luna casted the spell Cayde was on a large object that was falling down a hole. Through Cayde's memories Luna can tell this is the prison of elders. A high containment Facility that they were going to investigate a Prison riot. Cayde came crashing down into the ground. Dying, but his ghost resurrected him. He pushed a large piece of debris off of himself. He grumted and felt his head, face, and horn making sure they all were there "*grunt* Never felt better." He said rather sarcastically while drawing his gun "You see that Petra?....Petra? mmGuardian?" He looked around at the destruction "Must've knocked out the com relays with that spectacular landing" he continued to look around He noticed the prisoners on a higher level above him "aaaand queue the ominous music" he said to himself. He noticed they all had their weapons. "Okay everybody. Back in your cages" one slammed a staff on the ground making the message clear he wasn't gonna listen. A few of the prisoners started charging him "I said...back in your cages!" He drew his weapon showing he was armed A few prisoners came up behind him. He shot and shot. He came to a tussle and shot that one in the head. He shot and threw a knife. Killing two more. He knew he was out numbered but continued strong. He reloaded and continued shooting. He hit a fuel container which exploded and killed more. One flew over his head and he took a bow. Which was interrupted by more prisoners. He jumped and jumped again in the aid and placed a mine at his side. He shot two in the head and jumped to avoid the up coming explosion. He slid down a piece of debris while shooting another in the head. He was caught and thrown against a wall. "Yeah, that hurt" he rubbed the back of his head. The large enemy grabbed a piece of scaffolding and smashed Cayde with it, sending him flying "AAARRG" He smacked a wall but used his knife so he didnt slide all the way down. He shot a main support part and sent it falling onto more prisoners, killing them. "Sorry!......not sorry" he quipped as he walked away. He shot. He slid under one and shot it as he was under it. He was surrounded, he was slowly becoming more and more overwhelmed. He ran in hopes of getting some ground. He vaulted off pf an enemy's head and activated golden gun. Only to be tackled out of the air. Falling to the ground. He slid for a few feet. In pain he stumbled up and aimed his gun. Only for it to be smacked out of his hand. He was thrown to the ground and as he tried to grab his gun. A prisoner grabbed his cloak and pulled him back throwing him into a wall. Damaging his face. Cayde fell to the ground. He was in pain and he couldn't move. He balled up and got kicked and beaten. He jumped up and casted Blade barrage. Killing all the enemies he was being beaten by he stumbled to his feet. "That's it!" He picked up his gun "Now I'm pissed." Caydes face was beaten and scratched. He was tackled and pinned to a wall by an enemy he couldn't get his gun down to shoot him so Cayde headbutted him with his horn stabbing him in the head. Killing him. He limped forward. "Now is that *huff* really all *huff* you got?" He stumbled a bit further "will ya help me out here little buddy?" He pulled Sundance up only for her to be shot and killed. All the light used to create her dispersed throughout the solar system As parts of Sundance tinged against the ground Cayde was stumbling to gis feet as the bigger enemies jumped down around him. A much larger enemy walked slowly towards him with a large flaming mace. The next word that came out of Cayde's mouth sent shivers down Luna's spine He looked down at his gun and said "I'm comin' home..Ace" He put his hood up and raised his gun at the enemy, but didn't get to pull the trigger before he was slammed through a wall. His gun fell to the ground next to him. ...silence Cayde layed on the ground Groaning and coughing. A figure known as Uldren Sov paced around him slowly "Well.....this is awkward....Y-you got a gun i could borrow" Cayde coughed out "No.....but...I do have a bullet." Uldren held Caydes gun in his hand "with your name on it" "Any second. My partner is gonna roll in here...and kill every, last one of you."he had a fit of coughs "And you...my man-" Cayde was again cut off by a fit of coughs "Shh, shh, shh, shh, shh. This is going to hurt" Uldren Pointed the gun at Cayde's chest "A lot" they stared at eachother for a brief second "any last words?" Uldren asked Cayde sat up with a few coughs "How's your sister?" He made a quip as his last words *BANG* . . . . . Another figure ran in and it stared at Cayde and then at Uldren "He didn't feel a thing" Uldren said with a low chuckle The figure ran to Caydes side, took its helmet revealing the face from Cayde's memories. It also sat its gun down "How's....how's my hair" Cayde chuckled and coughed "Speechless...typical" he layed his head back down The other exo summed a ghost "oh no....there's nothing I can.....I'm...sorry." it looked at the otber Exo. "Listen kid...this...this ain't on you....this is what i get....for playing nice." He chuckled and coughed a bit. "You tell...Zavala...and Ikora...*huff*....the Vanguard....is the best bet....i ever..........lost" everything faded to black.. Luna came from the spell and tears were in her eyes they streamed from her cheeks. Cayde was asleep and against the railing Celestia barged into Luna's room "sister. I sensed heavy amounts of grief is everythi-" Celestia stopped as Luna turned to face her with tears in her eyes "He-he-he didn't deserve to die. he is such a sweet guy" Luna sobbed as she ran and wrapped her wings around her sister. "Sister what happened?" Celestia was concerned "She looked into my memories to see how i died. I guess its a real tear jerker" Cayde said as he got up, removing his hood. "Luna it's alright. They were in a clearing in the everfree when it happened Cayde jumped at the hydra and double jumped straight over it. He shot at its back which did nothing but piss it off.
