the ending of the end rewrite part 1
Grogar walks into the hideout where the four villains have been hiding for quite some time. The water runs through the cavern as he jumps from rock to rock. The cave was quiet and calm the only sounds the dripping of the water as it fell from the roof in the small puddles and river. That and the echo of Grogar’s hoofs landing on the rocks.
“Today is princess twilight’s coronation and we are going to ruin it with this artifact.” The bleu goat said while holding up a pink gem encased in gold. “But for us to succeed you must work together.”
“Oh, we’re way ahead of you Grogar.” Queen Chrysalis said. Turning her head 180 degrees and spitting a green sticky substance.
Suddenly Tirek breaks through the wall and Cozy Glow fly’s in and destroys the artifact that Grogar held in his magic grasp. Then they floated Grogar’s bell in front of his face
“That’s right we ticked you and now, we have all the magic in the bell.” Cozy gloated.
“Hahahahaha ha ha ha ha ha ha.” suddenly Grogar started laughing. “You fools! Did you really think it would be that easy? I have known from the very start you stole my bell; I can always sense its presence. That fool Gusty once used the bell on me. Did you really think I wouldn’t set measures to make sure that wouldn’t happen again? So, when you were off enjoying the ponies sun holiday I placed a magical curse on the bell in case anyone uses it but is not me.” Grogar stated blasting the bell with a magical blast activating it and forcing an electric shock to be sent to Tirek, Cozy Glow, and Queen Chrysalis. As they screamed in pain and all fell to the ground and reverting to their regular forms. “Now bow down to me and do exactly as I say. Or I will continue to electrocute you until you do.” He ordered the three villains.
“We submit mighty Grogar,” Tirek stated bowing his head. While the others did the same.
“Now that I have, your complete obedience you will be very useful for my plans,” Grogar stated. “Today I will reclaim my throne as emperor of Equestria!” he declared.
Meanwhile, in Canterlot, Twilight is sitting on the throne and preparing for her coronation.
“So worried about taking the throne yet?” Spike asked.
“No, I have never been more ready for anything in my life.” Twilight comforted him. Then suddenly spike burped up a letter. Confused twilight looked at princess Celestia and Luna, who gave a confused look back. “I thought only the princesses send letters through Spike.” She stated.
“We should be the only ones capable of doing so.” Stated Celestia.
Twilight carefully unrolled the letter and read it out loud. “Dear Twilight, congratulations on becoming the ruler of Equestria you really deserve the promotion. Sadly, we regret to inform you that you are not going to rule it for much longer. As we are going to conquer every bit of land in your kingdom. Regards, Tirek, Cozy Glow, and Queen Chrysalis.”
“What, but Tirek and Cozy Glow should be in Tartarus and Queen Chrysalis hasn’t been seen since Starlight defeated her,” Spike stated.
“This doesn’t make sense.” Twilight said “They couldn’t have made it out of Tartarus by themselves. Someone very powerful has to have pulled them out, and why would they write a letter it’s not their style to reveal their coming before they attack. They usually like to attack us by surprise?”
“Well, we should consider that later, right now we need to find out if they are really going to attack and where they're coming from,” Celestia said.
“Right, we have to warn every pony, spike writes a letter,” Twilight said. “Tell all of our friends to come to Canterlot. Queen Chrysalis will probably go after starlight so tell her to prepare. We’ll have the pillars station around the city and the royal guard stationed inside.”
Twilight and her friends have all gathered in the throne room of the castle.
“So, Twilight have you heard something,” Applejack asked impatiently. They had been there for quite some time but heard nothing of the villain's attack. “Are you sure they're going to attack, maybe the letter was just a prank.”
“No, we checked Tartarus and Cozy Glow and Tirek are gone,” Twilight stated. “We’re sure they're walking free and besides only the princesses can send letters through Spike. It must have been someone powerful with magic to do that. So, it’s either them or Discord.” All ponies in the room turned their gaze to the Draconequus in the corner resting in a bed with sunglasses on.
“Well, I can ensure you this time it wasn’t me. I was honestly looking forward to a good battle, I’m sure it would have been quite a spectacle.” Discord said. “But I agree with apples here I’m getting bored.” He said with a deep yawn.
“Also, I think they have already been doing some work,” Twilight explained. “I’m sure you have all already noticed the way ponies are acting. Hiding in their homes, accusing other ponies of horrible things. I think they might be behind these things it can’t be a coincidence that this is all happening at ones.”
Suddenly a royal guard came rushing through the doors. “Your majesties the villains have been sited walking to Canterlot.” The guard reported. Everyone in the room got a serious expression on their face, except discord who was now smiling and had lost his bored expression.
Meanwhile, outside of Canterlot, three villains were walking up to the city. The pillars were standing ready to fight. When twilight and the rest teleported beside them.
“That’s probably them, right?” Starswirl asked. Looking at the trio that was solely walking towards them.”
“It should be.” twilight said, “But they look different.”
“Looks like someone got a redesign.” Discord stated. The trio of villains looked a lot more menacing Tirek was a lot bigger Cozy Glow had transformed into an alicorn and Queen Chrysalis was greener and had much bigger wings.
“How is that possible, there’s no way they could have done that on their own,” Twilight exclaimed. “And why all attack the same place, if I knew that I would have called starlight glimmer as well.” With that, the three villains suddenly collectively fired a blast.
Meanwhile, starlight glimmer had led all the students to safety and was keeping a lookout for Chrysalis. When she noticed a bleu goat walking towards the school.
‘is that chrysalis in disguise?’ starlight thought ‘that’s a horrible disguise if it is her.’ Starlight then teleported in front of Grogar. “Not a step further Chrysalis.”
“Chrysalis, hah don’t confuse me with that bug,” Grogar stated. “I am much more than that I am, Grogar.”
“Who? Never heard of you” starlight retorted
“Really, you too all you ponies have forgotten who I am.” Grogar said annoyed “No matter, you will remember who I am.”
Then Grogar grabbed Starlight in a magical grasp. With a shocked expression, she struggled in Grogar’s magic.
“You’re definitely more powerful then Chrysalis.” Starlight observed.
Then with a magical burst of aura, she broke free off his grasp and blasted him with magic. Grogar dodged the blast and retaliated with his own. Where starlight teleported away just before it hit her. The blast hit the side of the school blowing up a part of the wall.
“Hey, you are going to pay for that wall.” Starlight said lifting the crumbled pieces in her magic field and throwing them at Grogar.
Grogar jumped out of the way of a few of the rocks but was eventually hit. “You will regret that.” He stated as he used his magic to immobilize Starlight’s hooves. Starlight used her magic to levitate herself from the ground and blasted Grogar with another magical blast. Which Grogar stopped with a magical shield.
“Is that all you can do you old goat.” Starlight boasted still floating in the air
“Hmmm, interesting flight using levitation that is a new one, you’re stronger than I suspected.” Grogar complimented. “But not strong enough.”
Then Grogar used his magic to cast a weird circle with ancient text on the ground. The earth beneath Starlight’s feet began to break and weird black lightning came out of it. The black lightning shot from the ground and hit starlight in the air and maid her fall to the ground in pain.
“Yes, your magic will be quite useful to me,” Grogar said and lifted his bell and cast the spell. The bell then sucked up all of Starlight’s magic. Then Grogar just walked away using a teleportation gate leaving a weakened Starlight behind.
Meanwhile, the mane 6, pillars, Celestia, Luna, and discord were hiding behind a shield that Twilight, Starswirl, Celestia, and Luna created. Holding back the magical blast from the three villains.
“Hah, do you really think your weak shields will be able to stop us.” gloated Chrysalis. “We have more power now then all of you.”
“Your strength will not be enough to defeat all off us.” Star Swirl declared “Not when we work together.”
With that, both sides charged at one another. Flash Mangus, Somnabula, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy charged Cozy Glow. Rockhoof, Mage Meadowbrook, Applejack, Pinkie, and Luna charged Tirek and Mistmane, Star Swirl, Rarity, Twilight, and Celestia charged Queen Chrysalis.
Cozy Glow was not fast enough to outspeed the 4 flyers, but she did have magic and with it, she continuously tried to blast the pegasi. Eventually, she was able to hit Somnabula who was knocked out of the sky away from the battle. Rainbow Dash was able to close the distance and take Cozy down to the ground, where Flash Magnus helps to keep her down.
“Oh, be careful not to hurt her too much,” Fluttershy said compassionately.
“Fluttershy, come help us detain her,” Dash said a little annoyed that her friend was just standing at the side-lines.
Meanwhile, Tirek was having trouble trying to keep the 4 earth ponies and alicorn away. Applejack had jumped up and kicked him in the face making him lose one of his teeth. He then proceeded to try and blast Applejack with magic, luckily Applejack was fast enough to dodge his attacks. Rockhoof was trying to hit him with his shovel but when he hit his leg the shovel broke. Tirek than hit him away sending him flying. Pinkie was wearing a mustache and shooting him with her confetti cannon. Which did not do anything except annoying Tirek? Luna however was his biggest concern as he countered one of her blasts with his own, making their magic connect in the air and crackle with power. With all of this happening at ones Tirek was having trouble trying to keep up and was on the constant defense.
“You can’t keep this up Tirek just yield,” Luna said.
“You think this is enough to stop me, I can take anything you throw at me.” Said Tirek with disguised confidence.
Then Mage Meadowbrook threw a potion in Tirek’s face making him dizzy. At that point, Applejack lassoed Tirek’s feet and with the help of Rockhoof made his trip.
Chrysalis was at the same time holding back a blast from Celestia “Ha, this reminds me of when I defeated you last time.” Chrysalis gloated.
“Well, this time I have help.” Celestia declared as twilight and star swirl assisted Celestia with their own blasts of magic. The balance shifted and Chrysalis was pushed back by their power. With the magic eventually hitting Chrysalis in the face. Chrysalis then blasted the ground with her magic making dust and earth fly everywhere. When the dust settled there were suddenly two Twilights.
“Oh no, not this old trope.” Discord said from the side-lines who had been sitting there eating popcorn the whole time.
“You know you could do something more than just sit there.” One of the Twilight’s said.
“Hey, hey, I’m doing something very important cheering you on.” Discord said holding up an Equestria’s flag and then spawning a bunch of buffalo cheerleaders. “Besides now we know that you’re the real twilight because I can only annoy the real Twilight like that.”
“You annoying Draconequus.” The other Twilight said before being hit by a blast by Celestia and Starswirl and rarity raping her up in a bow. That Mistmane enchanted so she wouldn’t be able to get out of it.
“See I’m very helpful.” Discord said while Chrysalis turned back in her regular form, everyone just rolled their eyes at that.
‘What a bunch of useless fools.’ Grogar thought. ‘Even after all that time they still have not learned to work together. Oh well, I guess I will help them out.’
Underneath the three detained villains suddenly appeared more casting circles with weird ancient symbols.
“What is that,” Twilight said in surprise.
‘How is that possible.’ Thought Discord.
With a very sudden burst of strength, the three villains broke free from there binds. Cozy Glow threw all the pegasi off her, Tirek broke the rope and when Rockhoof tried to kick him he punched him away sending him flying even further than last time. Then Applejack tried to do the same but was blasted by magic. Chrysalis broke free from the ribbon and with a shockwave blasted Rarity, Mistmane and Celestia away. All this chaos created a large amount of dust and debris making it impossible for anyone to see each other.
“Twilight I can’t see you.” Said Star swirl. Suddenly he saw two yellow eyes in the dust. “Who are you?”
“Oh, out of everyone here, I was certain you would remember me,” Grogar said rising his bell and casting its spell.
Meanwhile Twilight was also struggling to find her friends saw the three villains coming towards them. As they prepared a collective blast twilight ripped out a part of the ground using it as a shield.
“Can’t hold it.”
Then twilight saw a white alicorn with a flowing mane. Celestia came out of the fog assisting twilight in her fight. While twilights friends, also stepped out of the fog and charged at the three villains.
Meanwhile, in a different area of the fog, the pillars and Luna could not make out where their enemy was. “Show yourself, you, coward,” Luna ordered.
“Haha hahaha.” In response, there was only a laugh, and then the sound of a bell. And another one of the pillars fell to the ground.
“Sweet Celestia, Discord! Help.” Twilight said.
“Alright, alright hold your horses.” Replied Discord snapping his fingers and making a giant hairdryer appear blowing away all the dust. He then proceeded to snap his fingers and trap all three villains in cotton candy. But when the dust settled only the mane 6 and Celestia were still standing. But instead of three villains, there were four.
“Another one, who are you?” Twilight asked.
“I am getting tired of introducing myself, I am the first emperor of Equestria, the father of monsters. I am Grogar.”
“Grogar? I remember that name. The one from the ancient legend.”
“Yes, finally someone who knows, and now I’m back to take what is rightfully mine. But I am quite impressed with you princess Twilight Sparkle, I presume you are the one getting this ragtag group of characters together. Frankly, I have not had a real fight of wits in centuries. So, let us make this more interesting. I will retreat for now, but I will come back and when I do, we will fight for the throne of Equestria. If you win, I will leave your country alone forever, but if I win, I will rain and will take Equestria into a new epoch of darkness. One that will stay till the end of time, until we meet again Twilight Sparkle.” With that Grogar opens a teleportation gate and walked through with the other villains following him close behind.
“Oh no, quickly help the Pillars and Luna up,” Twilight said.
All of them teleported back inside the throne room of Canterlot castle.
“Okay, can someone explain to me what just happened,” Applejack asked. “Who’s that Grogar guy and where did he come from.”
To everyone’s surprise, it was Starswirl who answered. “Grogar the first threat Equestria ever faced. They called him the father of monsters and the first emperor of Equestria.”
“I recognize him from ancient legends I thought he was a myth,” Twilight said.
“On the contrary dear Twilight, he faded to legend because we tried to forget he ever existed in the first place. My teacher Gusty the great barely talked of him. Like she was scared to tell me who he was. Not even I know a lot about him. Past for what the legends say and how my teacher managed to banish him.”
“So, the only one who knows who he was has been gone for over a thousand years”.
“Well, actually.” Suddenly a voice said through the halls. It was discord who spoke up “I may not look it, but I am far older than any of you I was alive when Grogar took over Equestria. In fact, we were somewhat acquaintances. Both spirits I the spirit of chaos he was the spirit of destruction.”
“Grogar came to the land that would become Equestria long, long ago. In fact, it would be more accurate to call it the old Equestria it was before all of your ponies moved here because of the wendigoes. There weren’t even any tribe’s jet just a bunch of farms and pastures, Grogar united the ponies under his tyrannical rule, that is when I first crossed paths with him. At the time I was moving across the land to spread my chaos, I went from place to place staying a while before growing bored and moving on to another place.” Discord’s voice was filled with guilt when he said that.
“Of course, that was before I was reformed, anyway I was drowned to this land because of the strong magical presence that Grogar had. He allowed me to spread my chaos, but I quickly grew bored. I don’t find it fun just to destroy, I enjoy creating chaos but that’s not what he wanted so I left.”
“Then you didn’t see Grogar’s defeat,” Twilight said sadly.
“Well I do know one other thing, Grogar is the reason you have magic in the first place.”
Everyone in the room including the pillars and the princesses looked shocked.
“What but, how.” A very confused Rainbow dash asked.
“Grogar uses ancient magic, it’s different from the magic you use yours is controlled but less powerful. His is stronger but you need more power in magic to keep it under control. When you use ancient magic, it leaves a magical scar behind once these magical scars pile up, they fuse with any magical creatures they can find. Most of his magic went back to him but some fused with the ponies in the land, but when Gusty removed the bell from Grogar all the magic he had stored up exploded out. It was felt everywhere I was in a faraway land at the time and even I felt it. All that magic went directly into the ponies.”
“So, that is why Equestria has magic and you knew that all this time and said nothing,” Twilight said with a bit of anger.
“Well, no one ever asked, honestly have you never wondered why so many villains are drawn to your land especially if they can steal magic in some way. This is why, you have all the magic that was in that bell, and you can believe me when I say your land wasn’t the first place where he stole magic Equestria has mere magic than any other place in the world.”
“So then Grogar is here to re-obtain his magic,” Celestia said explaining her conclusion, even though everyone already figured that out.
“Well, we won’t let him.” Said pinkie pie. “Even if it was his he is a meanie and it would destroy our land to get rid of his magic now.”
“But.” Applejack said cautiously. “Is that really right I mean if it is his shouldn’t we give it back.”
“That is not a good idea.” Discord explained. “Grogar would not use his magic for good even if you gave it back. If you thought living in my chaos was bad, I can assure you what he does to the lands he comes by is a thousand times worse. His rampage caused the badlands, if you don’t want Equestria to look like that then we must win.”
“Alright, but we have already lost many of our forces we will have to come up with a good counterattack.” Twilight started but was cut off by Discord. “No, Twilight you will not fight now.”
“What but you said.”
“I said we must win, Grogar will already have a strategy in mind to defeat all of you that is why he retreated to prepare his next move. It wouldn’t surprise me if he already knows everything about you, but he’s never seen me go all out. While I fight him you will escape and go to the crystal empire, there you must gather everyone that would want to fight with you.”
“Wow, are you sure you’re Discord you seem a lot smarter, and more bolt since when do you fight.” Rainbow dash said bluntly.
“Oh, Dashy you underestimate me you’ve just never seen me get serious.” Discord said his eyes glowing a dangerous red. “Because nothings ever been strong enough, well except you’re rainbow of course.” He said snapping his finger and making rainbows mane extend into a big rainbow going across the room.
“Uhg, never mind you haven’t changed a bit,” Rainbow grumbled having trouble keeping balance with her now giant mane.
Pinkie began to laugh at dash's struggles and soon everyone in the room joined in even Celestia let out a snicker.
Grogar and the rest of the villains were back in the cave. Grogar was looking in his ball at the ponies in the throne room. He was deep in thought when Cozy Glow caught his attention by yelling
“Hello, Grogar I asked a question!”
“What is it now you insufferable brat.”
“Why did we retreat we had the upper hand couldn’t we just have taken them out, and why did you take our magic away I was just getting used to my horn.” Cozy pouted.
“If you think we were strong enough to take on discord you’re truly a fool.”
“I have fought him myself ones,” Tirek stated across the cave. “He was an idiot easy to manipulate and easy to steal his magic.”
“Ha, I watched your team up with him. The only reason you won was that you were so weak Discord did not think you were a threat. And then not moments later you underestimated the ponies and let them go.” Tirek looked mad at Grogar while chrysalis snickered.
“That goes for you as well. All of you failed because you are too overconfident in, your abilities and underestimate your opponent. Just like I ones did, but that is the difference between us even now you still overestimate yourself and say that the ponies cheat, or that they are just lucky. Instead of facing the truth that these ponies are strong, admit that there your equal and then crush them never to underestimate them.”
The three other villains all pondered that statement.
“Anyway, why we retreated is simple the next spell I need to perform is difficult, and I’ll need more power, that is also why I took yours.” Grogar lifted the bell and used the spell on it, for it to release its magic into Grogar. As the bell released its magic Grogar began to grow larger both horns grew and out of them just above the first curl grew one more big spiked horn. His goat became a darker bleu and his eyebrows grew blacker as if Grogar was becoming younger again, even his eyes seemed to gleam a brighter yellow.
When the transformation was complete Grogar glanced back at the orb on the table. His horns began to glow with yellow and black lightning as circles with ancient symbols began to appear around the globe. Grogar began chanting in old Ponisch as the orb became completely black. It began to crack and black smoke began to come out of the cracks. As the black smoke went to the center of the cave, they began to take shape.
“Now you’ll see why they call me the father of monsters.”

“Okay, so we all know the plan right,” Twilight asked.
“Yes, yes we know you all go to the crystal empire while I defeat Grogar.” Discord responded triumphantly.
Then Rarity and Applejack walked into the throne room
“All the citizens have been evacuated successfully. Princess Luna and Celestia, as well as the pillars, have gone with them too.” Rarity said flicking her mane.
“Why exactly do we have to go to the crystal empire,” Rainbow dash asked.
“Because they have the crystal heart that may just be strong enough to banish Grogar, It's the strongest artifact in all Equestria now that the elements of harmony are gone.” Twilight pointed out with a slight hint of sadness thinking back about the destruction of the elements and the tree. “If discord fails that would be our best chance.”
“Then if the plan is set we will go, You'll be fine right discord,” Fluttershy asked the Draconequus.
“Oh, I'll be better than fine we won't even need the crystal heart I am far more powerful than some useless artifact.”
“You do know some of those useless artifacts turned you to stone right,” Rainbow said bluntly.
“Pffff they just caught me by surprise, besides that was six artifacts.”
“Caught by surprise by a giant rainbow laser.” rainbow asked mockingly. “If you were caught by surprise by that are you really the best choice.”
Then discord's entire body starts to shake.
“Oh no, that's not a good sign,” Discord said looking worried. “Grogar just used some very powerful magic.”
“Grogar is coming closer I can sense his magic now. He's more powerful than last time.” Discord said, “It's time for you to go.”
“Will you really be okay,” Fluttershy asked discord.
“I'll be fine dear you just make sure you stay out of harm's way.” then discord spoke to the others. “And I guess that goes for all of you too. But make extra sure Fluttershy stays out of danger or I'll turn all of you into cotton candy.” Discord said, the others just hoped he was joking.
“Okay let's go,” Twilight's horn flared with magic but nothing happened.
“Uh, twilight darling we're still in Canterlot.” rarity said confused.
“How... we should be in the crystal empire.”
“Unless Grogar is stopping your teleportation.” Pinkie suggested.
“That's not possible, is it?” Fluttershy commented, becoming scared.
“Well, such a powerful spell probably has a certain range.” Twilight concluded, “As soon as we're out we can teleport.”
“Then there's no more time to lose, let's go!” Applejack said.
Discord went through the front doors and Twilight and her friends went to the back.
Just outside Canterlot castle, Grogar was patiently waiting for the ponies to come out but was only greeted by a Draconequus.
“Well, is this the plan you came up with? Grogar did you really need to run just to come back and fight me.”
“Well, if I'm honest Discord. I needed more power to defeat you and I wanted to have a bit of fun too. Out of anyone here I think you'd understand that.”
“But my chaos has never hurt anyone... too much. You're destruction, however, has hurt many but I won't let it hurt my friends.” With that Discord ignited his claw and paw and charged at Grogar, grabbing his horns claw, and paw still on fire.
“Then where are those friends of yours now Discord Sending you out here all alone to fight for them while you get nothing in return.” Grogar used his horns to hit discord in the gut.
“I already betrayed them once, never again.” Discord's eyes turned redder, and he unleashed lightning from his hands. The lightning hit Grogar straight on. “You may be strong Grogar but my power is infinite.”
“Good thing I brought some of my friends then.” A house close by exploded and a dragon-like monster, with bat-like wings with lava coming out of its mouth, and a giant spike on the end of its tale. The creature's wings and back were an endless black with a single red line going over its back the line went from the top of its head to the end of its tale, where it stopped at the red spike. His belly was as yellow as Grogars eyes. It climbed over the broken wall and stalked closer to discord. The ground also cracked open and a deafening screech came from the crack, a similar-looking monster came out of it. Except this one had dark forest green wings and back with a black line going to his tale. His belly was also dark blue like Grogars coat, both monsters charged at discord.
Outside Canterlot, the mane six were galloping down the road spiraling up the mountain to the city.
“Why did we have to build the city on a mountain.” Rarity panted.
“Just keep going we have to almost be out of reach,” Applejack said.
“W-what is that,” Fluttershy gasped.
Three birdlike monsters came flying towards them, but they were almost as big as a stallion. With claws that looked like they could cut through metal.
The giant reptile flew straight at the mane six, twilight was able to cast a shield overt hem just in time for the bird to crash into it. The bird assaulted the shield with its sharp talons while holding on to it with his wings.
“Quickly think of something before it destroys the shield,” Twilight said. The bird was now also pecking at the shield with its beak and there were starting to appear several cracks in it.
“Fluttershy can you do something,” Applejack asked.
“Me? B-but I don’t know anything about this creature. I don’t know how to p-pacify it.”
“It doesn’t look like it wants to be friends with us.” Argues pinkie.
“I-I could try the stare, but I don’t know if that will work.”
At that point, the barrier breaks, and as the bird flies in with its talons the fear brinks back memories for Fluttershy. Memories from When she used to cower before everything in her life when she feared even her own shadow. How sometimes she thought that with all that fear she was not as helpful as the others when trying to save the world. Maybe even a bother to them, but that was different now.
Without any hesitation, Fluttershy jumped between her friends and the reptile and stared it down.
“Stop right there you naughty bird.”
The bird instantly stopped in its tracks and landed on the ground. Fluttershy just kept staring at it, she swore that the bird almost looked like it was sweating even though it did not have any sweat glands.
“What do you think you’re doing just attacking us like that, we didn’t do anything to you.”
The bird started baking off and making itself smaller and smaller.
“You are by far the meanest bird I’ve ever met. You just attack ponies for no reason and think you can get away with it what would your father think.” After that, the bird started crying.
“Your father forced you to do this?” Every pony looked surprised. The bird simply nodded.
“Why would he do that,” the bird let out a cry.
“Your father is Grogar?”
“That does make sense,” Twilight said. “There are legends that say. Grogar can create monsters with his magic.”
“All the more reason to get to the crystal empire as soon as possible” stated applejack.”
“Right let’s go.” However, when they all started to walk off the bird squawked.
“He asks if he can come with us. He doesn’t want to go back to Grogar, he sounds scared.”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Rainbow stated. “He could be trying to see where we’re going and then report it to Grogar.”
“I don’t think he’s bad”
“Fluttershy, he just tried to attack us.”
“He didn’t want as Grogar forced him.”
“More friends are always better,” Pinkie said happily
“Fluttershy knows animals better than any of us.” Argued applejack “And she knows kindness if she says he can be trusted I believe her.”
“Having a monster who was summoned by Grogar help us could give us more information about him” argued Twilight.
“Ugh... fine, but just know I have my eye on you,” Rainbow said to the bird. It nodded in response and walked to them using its wings like feet.
The mane 6 started quickly galloping down the mountain, with their new bird companion flying with them.
Discord crashed through a building one of the creatures knocked him into.
“Heh looks like you have some friends as well Grogar, they aren’t very nice though.”
Discord snapped his fingers and created a bunch of cotton candy shaped animals around him.
“My friends on the other claw only want to give a hug.” The cotton candy animals stormed Grogar and the two monsters. The cotton candy animals reached the two monsters. Running into them and rendering the creatures immobile by sticking them to the ground. Grogar however was easily able to destroy the creatures with a single spell. One that first looked like a shield but expanded until it reached the cotton candy animals disintegrating them.
“You have not changed a bit Discord; you still use those weak tricks of yours.” Grogar taunted discord. “Let me show you how to use your power.”
Under both monsters appeared a red circle with ancient symbols spinning underneath the monsters. The circles lit up and in an instant, the monsters were engulfed in flames. The flames melted the cotton candy and as the monsters stepped out of the circle it became clear that the flames were coming from the monsters, and they were now on fire.
“Lava beasts, incinerate him.” With that order the beasts charged into action, the new form of the lava beasts however this did not seem to disturb discord. Who just yawned waited for the monsters to jump at him and split his own body in two. He had made a giant pool of water appear behind him which the beasts fell into. With a loud splash and a hissing sound of the water vaporizing. Discord put his body back together and looked at the two now wet lava beasts.
“You’re right that was a lot more effective.” Discord said in a sarcastic tone.
Annoyance was now clearly visible on Grogar's face.
“This is exactly why I've always found you a child Discord, you never take anything seriously. Even with all, you're power you don't ever use all of it.”
“It's not like I need to use all my strength would take all the fun out of a fight.”
“Don't underestimate me.” Grogar used his power creating multiple magical circles.
One of the circles shot icicles out of it, other spear-like projectiles, and the last one shot out electricity. Discord stops the icicles by summoning a giant pudding getting them stuck in it. The spear projectiles flew into a door that seems to go nowhere, the electricity was simply snatched out of the air by Discord's eagle claw and eaten.
“See what I mean.” Discord said smugly, “I barely had to try and I never got-” a circle appeared behind Discord, opening and sending the spear-like objects into his back. The spears exploded on content sending Discord flying towards Grogar. He conjured up another circle out of which a giant stone spike appeared. Discord was able to dodge by changing direction in the air but just ran into another magical circle that spewed out fire.
"This is why you won't win discord, you don't know how to fight seriously because you never had to."
Discord was able to stop the fire by summoning fire of his own. He then channeled lightning in his claw and shot it at Grogar. Next to Grogar, a house wall was blown out by a stone Gollum running through it. The stone Gollum ran in front of Grogar and stoped the lightning. At the same time, green vines with spikes suddenly shot out of the ground beneath Discord, shooting out and gripping his arms and hands, making him unable to snap his fingers. Behind Discord rose a Vine-like monster it didn't appear like any animal, just a bunch of vines bunched together walking on four legs, and having something resembling a mouth where its face was probably supposed to be.
"What's wrong didn't expect me to have more monsters," Grogar said with a mocking grin. "You need to snap you're claw or paw to change reality correctly."
Discord then without snapping his fingers detached his arms and freed himself from the fines. "incorrect, I just do that for show." He then regenerated his arms, paw, and claw, the ones that were still stuck in the fines turning into bubbles and disappearing.
Discord had a grin on his face walking towards Grogar. freezing the Gollum and fine monster in pace without snapping his fingers. "See Grogar still no challenge. I told you there's no point for me to get serious, I mean why do you think the writers always have to come up with a reason that I can't help. I'm simply too strong, I mean it's no surprise I am the best."
"Such confidence, although you really should not lower your guard in a fight. always watch you're back."
Discord quickly turned around, Grogar had produced ten magic circles all of them firing large spike stones at Discord. Discord didn't even flinch turning them all in balloons before they could even get close, but at that moment discord heard the clang of a bell behind him. Before he could turn back around he felt his magic start to drain.
"I did tell you to watch you're back." Discord fell to the ground completely drained of magic. "That's all it takes for me to beat you. one moment of distraction and I win."
Grogar pulled Discord up with his magic so they were face to face. "And now you're nothing more than a bunch of animals clutched together, although it doesn't look like you'll be for much longer."
Grogar looked at Discord's claw that was now slowly becoming more transparent. "Interesting you're a spirit of chaos, or in a sense a physical representation of chaos magic. Without you're chaos magic you can't exist."
"D-don't be so sure." Discord said with a weak voice. "I h-have more than just one magic."
"Oh please, you're 'magic of friendship' is nothing more than increasing your power through emotion. In the case of friendship, it's love for you're friends. I can get the same result by feeling other emotions as long as they're just as powerful, like hatred."
"H-heh you think your hate is stronger than the bond they have. I t-tried overcoming it with my magic and failed spectacular, w-what makes you think you can do any better." Discord was still panting and becoming more and more seethrough.
Grogar released Discord from his magical grasp dropping him on the ground. "Because unlike you hate is all I feel, when I hear the rain from the clouds created by the pegasi. When I see the fields being plowed by earth ponies. When I hear unicorns laughing while they use their magic to toss a ball around. All I can think about is the fact that there using my magic to do so. The magic that they stole from me, I will get that magic back, and when I do I'll take my revenge and destroy everything I hate."
"Y-You'll never succeed." Discord said rising from the ground. "F-Fluttershy and her friends won't quit. they'll never give up no mether what, because they have each other. Your plans will fail, and the last thing you'll see before that despair sets in is a rainbow laser." Now completely standing on the ground Discord with a pained expression summoned the last of his strength to make two digits on his lion paw visible again. "And as long as they have each other, that will always happen." With that Discord used every last bit of his strength to snap his fingers and he completely disappeared.
"I think we're far enough away now gather up we're teleporting," Twilight announced, everyone including the bird steps closer to twilight all teleporting away.
re-appearing in the crystal empire in front of a worried looking crowd.
"Twilight," Cadance said relieved. "We were worried, we thought you may have been captur-....... Uhm why do you have a monster with you"
"We almost were," Applejack responded. "Grogar put up some kind of anti-teleportation magic, then we were attacked by that monster there."
"Don't worry." Fluttershy said, "Raphiël is very sorry about that, he's on our side now."
"You gave it a name?" Rainbow dash asked.
"Discord held Grogar back.... but we haven't heard back from him," Twilight said, at that exact moment a letter appeared in front of Twilight. The letter fell into Twilights hooves surprised she began to read it. "Dear, Fluttershy, and others I sadly won't be able to help you out anymore, be careful Grogar has my magic now. But I'm sure you'll win anyway don't worry about me I'll be fine I promise. Beat Grogar for me, ps. keep Fluttershy safe."
"S-so not even Discord could beat him." rarity said looking worried. "Then how are we suppose to."
"I don't know yet but I'm sure we'll be able to think of some sort of plan." Everyone agreed and decided to strategize on how to handle Grogar."
Tirek, Cozy, and Chrissalys walked into the throne room of Canterlot castle. Beside the door stood the two monsters that Discord had thrown into a swimming pool. And next to the throne stood the fine monster and the stone Gollum.
"Lord Grogar." Cozy glow said giving Grogar a fake smile. "you succeeded in taking Canterlot, congratulations." she said very happily.
"Do not try to trick me with your false flattery Cozy Glow," Grogar said angrily. "Now is not the time to celebrate, there are still threats out there we need to take care of."
"Twilight and her friends." Tirek said, "They are important to take care of."
"Not just them, question Tirek do you know where the magic in this world comes from."
"Well each creature has its own unique magic, most can call upon it and control it."
"Correct your species can even absorb magic to a certain extent, of course, you can only extract the magic on the surface, not all of it. My bel however can absorb all magic in a creature leaving them completely helpless."
"What does any of this have to do with defeating your threats? " Chrysallis asked.
"Because it's clear to me that as long as magic exists in this world there will always be a threat to my rule because there is always some way they can defeat me. If it's not with a spell then it's with this magic of friendship. If I truly want to win I need to get rid of all magic, not just here but everywhere the changelings, buffalo, dragons, hippogryphs, griffons, and everything else. I will destroy magic ones and for all and then rule over this world as supreme emperor."
"But if you take all magic, then this world will collapse."
"That is exactly what I want and you will help me, Tirek you and Chrysalis will go out there and steal the love and surface magic of Equestria's population Cozy Glow you know a lot about different artifacts and where there located take some monsters to gather them."
"And, why would we do that." Chrysalis scoffed, "What's in it for us."
"I will give you all each your land back, some subjects to rule, and enough magic to keep order."
"Okay, and what will you be doing," Cozy asked.
"I will gather magic enhance my power and then do what Sombra could not. Take the Cristal empire. Now go out there and do as I say and you will be graciously rewarded, and take some of my monsters as well."
Grogar grabs the bell in his magical grasp and floated it towards himself.
"Now there is just one more thing."
"You're not seriously going to absorb that fool's ridiculous chaos magic, are you? That's impossible for any other creature to control." Tirek said.
"I am the father of monsters and the greatest sorcerer that has ever existed. There is no magic I can not control." With that Grogar absorbed Discord's chaos magic. Growing larger in size until he seemed to dwarf the other three villains, and the rest of the monsters in the room. His court became even darker blue, to the point it nearly seemed red. His coat now had red and black lines going through it. His hooves became dark purple with his eyes glowing an even more fiery red.
two weeks later.
"Twilight, we have even more citizens arriving from Equestria," Luna said. "I don't know how many more the cristal empire can take in."
"I know what you mean." Pinkie said frowning. "There are so many ponies I don't know if I can get enough supply's to throw a big enough party."
"It's not going to slow down either." Cadence stated. "According to recent refugees, Grogar's monsters are moving all over Equestria. Tirek, Cozy Glow, and Queen Chrysalis seem to be going from town to town. Multiple cities have been overrun as well including, Canterlot, Manehatten, Poniville, Cloudsdale, Las Pegasus, Fillydelphia, Baltimare, and Appeloosa."
"This is bad, we can't just turn them away but we're running low on food and other supplies. And it's impossible to get supplies from Equestria with all those monsters running around." Twilight said frustrated.
"We've tried sending some of our leftover royal guards and crystal guards." Shining armor said. "But it's been hard the monsters seem to grow stronger the further we had inside Equestria."
"Fluttershy has your friend returned yet."
"Yes, Raphiël has been flying over Equestria and just came back. A lot of places have been taken over by Grogar, he's imprisoning all the ponies he captures takes their magic, and then forces them to work. It also appears like the land is slowly weltering."
Twilight sighed heavily, "Grogar is making it an eternal night with his magic, and without Cloudsdales whether factory we can't control the weather anymore and it's gone out of control, everything is a mess."
"Don't lose hope sugar cube." Applejack said comfortingly."We ain't defeated yet, you'll figure somethin' out"
"Ugh I'm so tired of that Grogar guy," Cozy Glow said annoyed. The three villains were walking through the apple orchard of the apple family. There was rumored to be a small resistance of ponies somewhere nearby.
"I agree we've done nothing but hunt down ponies for their magic for the past two weeks." Chrysalis agreed.
"Well, Grogar appears to like playing the long term."Tirek said, "He told me that the plan is to create a lot of panic and to get as strong as possible before attacking the ponies."
"I just don't know if Grogar's plan is going to go well." Cozy Glow said worriedly.
"It's a solid plan to gather you're strength for a fight."
"No, I mean is it a good idea to rid the world of all its magic."
"Didn't you try to take all of Equestria's magic?" Chrysalis countered.
"That's different it was just Equestrian magic, but Grogar is trying to take all magic."
"I know what you mean," Tirek said. "Taking Discord's magic and so many other creatures. You can almost feel the world shifting, look around." Tirek pointed at the field around them, it was a cherry orchard. But there were no cherry's growing on the trees. The trees were withering and slowly dying. "This all happened in just two weeks. It's like magic itself is disappearing and it's killing everything."
"If it continues like this, then there won't be any fertile land left." Ghrissalys sighed. "If that happens ponies will lose all hope. Without hope, there will be no love only despair. And that tastes horrible."
"No one would want to be friends in a world like that." Cozy sighed, more upset about the fact that it will be difficult to manipulate enough creatures to become powerful enough, rather then that she wouldn't be able to make friends.
"And no magic to grow stronger," Tirek grumbled.
"And then there's the fact that he's also going to attack our homelands," Chrysalis said, She seemed almost sad as she said this. Even though her hive betrayed her she still had a small soft spot for them.
"We can't allow Grogar to grow any stronger, I'm sure he'll try to get rid of us as soon as he gets the chance." Tirek was almost sure that that was his plan, after all, if Grogar wanted to gain all magic. There was no doubt he'd try to take their magic as well. "But, it's not like we can really do anything about it. He's way too powerful and always seems to be one step ahead."
"Then we need to do something that Grogar would never think of." Cozy stated.
"He knows our personalities too well, he probably knows what we'd do before we do it," Chrysalis said.
"Then we just do something completely opposite of what we would normally do, work together."
"I don't know us working together didn't work last time," Tirek said, remembering how they'd failed to steal Grogar's magic with his bell.
"That's why we need to work together with someone he wouldn't suspect."
"No," Qhrisalys stated, "I refuse to work together with those ponies."
"But, it may be our only chance to defeat him."
"What makes you think they'd even want to work together with us," Tirek said bringing up a good point.
"We can at least try it's better than working for Grogar." The villains contemplated what to do as they walked through the dying orchard that was the apple farm.
Canterlot castle had been reformed. It looked a lot bigger but incomplete and like it could fall over at any moment. Spikes jutted out from the sides and a giant flag with Grogar's face hung off the side, overall the atmosphere was dreadful.
"Report." Gregor snorted, he was sitting on a throne in the throne room of the newly decorated Canterlot castle. He'd called for some pony in chains to report the recent events in his new kingdom.
"Y-yes e-emperor Grogar, the rebellions in las pegasus and Manehatten have been stopped. and the buffaloes have also surrendered." The pony was shaking from fear while giving the report.
"Hmmm, excellent you are dismissed work with the other ponies to built my statue." With that order, the pony bowed her head and walked out of the throne room
Grogar walked to one of the many class stained windows in the throne room as a monster walked into the room. It was a towering tree-like monster his enter body was made of roots and moss was growing on him with branches popping out randomly over its body. "You're majesty." It said in a voice so deep you could feel it in you're boned.
"Ah Ent, are my forces ready."
"Yes, Everyone is ready for your orders."
"Perfect, today my empire will truly be reborn."
Twilight and the others had been talking all day in the conference room trying to come up with a plan.
"No, that won't work either," Twilight said, another plan that wouldn't work. "We just don't have enough forces our best strategy would be to wait for Grogar to come to us."
"But," Rainbow dash countered. "That would mean giving Grogar the time to strengthen his forces. Who knows how many strong monsters he'd be able to make."
At that moment a guard walked into the room. "You're majesty's, "The guard said to the four princesses in the room. "Friendly forces have arrived."
"What," Twilight said surprised. "Grogars already here that's sooner than... wait, did you say friendly?"
"Yes, your majesty the Griffons, Dragons, Jacks, Hippogryphs, and Changelings have appeared. Also, a pony named tempest shadow with a few storm creaturs claims to know you."
"Well, let them in the city immediately, I want to talk to all of them."
"Yes, Your majesty, at once."
Twilight and the others went to meet the leaders of each race that brought their respective forces. "It's so nice to see all of you again," Twilight said happily.
"It is nice to see you too." Queen Novo said. "It's been too long."
"Yak's happy to see little pony too." prince Rutherford said.
"Yeah, we should get together like this more often," Thorax said.
"Next time we do so maybe the world won't be in danger," Ember said smirking
"We're only here because Gallus and Gilda insisted we'd have to help." Said grandpa gruff, "Apparently this Grogar guy is a threat to us as well."
"I hope it's not a problem that I brought some storm creatures," Tempest said slightly worried.
"Of course not," Twilight reassured. "Any help is useful right now. But, how are you all here."
"I asked them to." Starlight said happily. "We got a letter to send the students to ask their various leaders to help us."
"What letter?"
"The one Discord send us. At least I'm pretty sure it was him considering how chaotic it was."
"But, why are all of you only showing up now?"
"The letter told us to show up at the same time because it said: 'It would be very epic.'"
"Yeah, that's definitely Discord. Well, let's catch up in the congress room. With this many forces, we may be able to beat Grogar back."
Thus twilight and the other rulers caught up over a few drinks. Meanwhile, Grogar was moving his monsters to the Cristal Empire to defeat Twilight and her friend's ones and for all.
