Meticulously crafted by Rarity and Sweetie Belle to express their love, the Fire Ruby lies within Spike's lair, only to vanish one day. Ember and Smolder claim ignorance, and in a rage Spike sets out to discover who committed the deed with Ember in tow.

Their quest takes them further into Equestria and adventure, where the bounty huntress Applejack and the sky pirate Rainbow Dash are enveloped by a bitter rivalry that goes back to their childhood!

Now an all-out war threatens to break put between the air pirates and bounty hunters in a steampunk town, with the dragons stuck in the middle...
