A 22 year old man, by the simple name of Carter, has not had the easiest life during his adult years. As many dark memories haunt his mind, he isolates himself from society, hoping that his absence in their lives will prevent any future horrors.

One day, a spirit appears to Carter and warns him about an eternal damnation that will soon come upon him if he continues his selfish ways. With little time to act, Carter is sent away to the magical world of Equestria in hopes to prove himself worthy to be freed from such a dark future.

As a new journey unfolds, Carter must understand the true magic of friendship if he wishes to return to Earth, safe and sound. Though reaching his goal appears to be easy to achieve from first glance, not everything turns out to be what they seem, and it would appear that it's not only Carter's life that hangs on the edge of death and damnation. As the story unfolds, it is presented to Carter that maybe his main enemy is himself, and that he may need friends to help him realize this before it is too late.

(This takes place one year after the events of Season 9, between "The Ending of The End - Part 2" and "The Last Problem," sometime after Twilight's coronation and becoming the new leader of Equestria, along with the Royal Sisters' retirement.)
