The Last of Pendants

The Last of Suns

Previous Chapter

Nedak woke up to the sound of bells ringing from the local bell tower. He tried rubbing his eyes but his forelegs were tied to whatever he was up against. His head was still hurting from whatever he was doing the other night. He tried to go to go back to sleep, but he was immediately awoken by a bloodcurdling scream that echoed through the palace as if it traveled dimensions or something. He began to hear three familiar voices. He looked to his sides, and saw the faces of Spark, Renimcinos, and surprisingly enough, Rena.

"How did they find you Rena?" a confused Nedak asked.

"You guys took to long to meet back at the choke-point, so I came to the palace only to get captured."

"Do you know where Dash is?"

"No. Not even her friends know. We can only guess she's around here somewhere."

"Nice to see the pups decided to wake up for Judgement Day. We were wondering if we should just destroy this place while you were still asleep. But we wanted you to see the utter destruction of Equestria, so we struck fear into their hearts while you were asleep. It will be a long time to recover from the pure shock." a mysteriously figure said.

"Marcus!? If I ever get out of this rope, you will regret ever tying me to this pole!"

"Oh please. If you did, my associates would have your head if you did that... Kaden!"

"DON'T YOU DARE CALL ME THAT!!" Nedak hissed as he slowly turned a lighter shade of grey.

"Why do you keep running from your past Kaden? We used to be the best of friends; what ever happened to the days when we would cause trouble and have fun like friends should?"

"I learn from my mistakes! You never knew me for the real me. You just saw me as an acceptable loss that could take anything thrown at me! If you can't handle change. There is no point trying anymore!" By now, Nedak was completely grey. Even his eyes were grey.

"If you learn from your mistakes, why did make the biggest one of all: coming here to run from your problems?" Marcus was very dark when he said that, making it seem as if he had caused all of this himself. "If you didn't come here all the time, we wouldn't have caught on to your little charade. We knew something was wrong with you when you ate that animated grass. We only did what was necessary. We took revenge."

"I did what was right! I have no regrets for turning you in."

"We could have ratted you out for being an accomplice, but we knew revenge was best when plotted out slowly. We had waited for the perfect moment to strike, and it appeared like it should have, like a sore th-" Marcus was interrupted by a swift kick to the face from a dark silhouette that appeared to be a Pegasus.

"I told you I would leave ya hangin!" the silhouette had proudly stated.

"Rainbow Dash?" The four said in unison.

"THE one and only!" She said as she landed by them, "Here. I'll get you guys untied.

"How did you get those two?" Spark asked as he pointed over to the now unconscious Vincent and Tristan.

"Simple, they were too focused making this giant spell bomb in the sky; so I snuck up on 'em and took 'em out." she proudly explained, wings flaring out.

"I think we should tie them up, they won't be passed out for much longer. And we need to punish them for their actions against our proud citizens." a tall figure had said behind them. Everyone had turned around to see-

"Princess Celestia?!" Everyone other than her said in unison. They had immediately bowed to her presence.

"As I had said, they have caused us more distress than anyone ever had, even resorting to murder of royal guard. I don't think banishment is a good enough punishment. Any ideas?"

"I have one." Nedak had blankly said, slowly walking to the unconscious Marcus, taking the pendants off him and his friends. "I can send them to the sun with this pendant I'm holding. If there any objections, speak now..."

Everypony was silent.

"Well... Go on Nedak!" Reni impatiently said.

"Okay..." Nedak had took the pendant in his hoof and recited, "Command input: The Last of Suns. Password: Harmony. targets: Marcus, Vincent, and Tristan, Word inputed into targets head: So long forever... Friends."

The pendant had emitted a bright white light and began to pick up the three unconscious Allicorns spun the three in an elliptical motion.Within seconds, it was impossible to see anything other than a blur of multiple colors and lights. As if on Que, there was a blinding light that obstructed all view from all angles. When the light passed, there was nothing where Marcus laid.

"Well... It's finished...They're gone...forever..."

"You did what you needed to...its all over...I can't believe it..." Reni blankly stated.

"They fought hard, and fell harder..." Spark added.

"Maybe this could have ended better..." Rena complained.

The silence went on for around twenty minutes until Rainbow Dash broke the silence.

"Why don't we head back to Ponyville so we can forget all of this chaos?"

"You can't just forget murdering someone you used to know as a friend? I need to think this all over. Don't expect me at school Reni." Without another word, Nedak flared his wings and flew off.

"Don't worry. I'll get him back." Dash reassured them of that, "If anything, it's just a grieving of that conversation he had with Marcus." She then flew out the same window to go catch up with Nedak.

"He's not coming back is he?" Spark said in a disappointed tone. "What Marcus said showed why he will never come back."

"I'm still trying to get over the fact Nedak was FRIENDS with that jerk!" Scolded Renimcinos. "I never saw that possible until today."

"Either way, we would have lost. I mean, if we failed, we'd probably be on the sun burning to a crisp by now. If we didn't fail, we would lose our dearest friend." Rena admitted.

Not another word was spoken in that castle unless you count the command for the portal to open being yelled. The three stepped in to resume their lives. Nedak on the other hand had ALOT of thinking to do. What did Marcus mean when he implied he had given him the chance to go to Equestria and stay there? Did he create Yami? Too many questions to answer at the moment. He just needed to spend time where he wanted to be most, Equestria with Rainbow Dash. She'd soon figure that out for herself. He would only go back to earth for his belongings and to change the code on his safe. "7669" was easy to decode. Only an idiot wouldn't guess the code was NumPad code for "Pony." Whatever. He could care less if he left the safe there, like there was anything important in there. It was just some documents with arbitrary meaning now...
