It was a normal morning. The birds sang as the light streamed through the window. A dirty blond hair boy, rose from his bed. He stretched his arms to the ceiling. The remaining bits of his slumber left him, awake and ready to attack the day. He swung his legs out of his comfy bed, his feet contacted the ground, giving him stability to stand up. When he finally found his balance, he walked across the small room. The room was probably the simplest room in all the world. The bed dominated most of the room. Leaving room for a small end table, a desk on the opposite side of the room with a laptop sitting on the desk's surface. And a small closet beside the door. The window was the only source of natural light. Except it was the most reliable source of light because whenever the train passed by the apartment building, the light bulb shook just enough to disconnect the electrical charge. When the boy reached the door he reached down to the rusted door handle and slowly turned it to prevent the sharp squeak as much as possible. He opened the door just a crack to look into the short hallway, seeing if anyone was up. The hallway had only a couple doors leading to the rooms that hid behind them. There was a door at the end of the hallway that opened to the master bedroom which was currently closed. His door was right across from the bathroom door and further down, leading to the living room, was his sisters room and the hall closet. No one was in the hallway. He traversed across the hallway toward the bathroom to have his morning shower. When he reached the door, he gently pushed the door to unearth a tiny bathroom, with little room to move around. The bathroom had the bare minimum of appliances. A toilet, a sink, and a shower. He had to share this bathroom with his older sister, Jessica. The counter above the sink was dominated by her makeup and other accessories like that, It was almost impossible to find his toothbrush when the boy needed to brush. He flicked the light switch to illuminate the bathroom, the hardly white walls barely sparkled and the floor didn't even feel like tile, more like rough sand paper. He then took half a step, almost smacking his face into the shower door with his nose. He turned around and locked the door. He undressed and stepped into the coffin of a shower. He turned on the water to be bombarded with cold water. Sadly, the shower was almost never warm but he was used to it. The freezing liquid hit his back and ran down it, To escape down the drain. The boy reached for his shampoo on the little shelf behind him in the corner. He grabbed it and started washing his hair. When he was done, he stepped out and grabbed his towel. He wrapped himself in it and started his journey back to the safety of his bedroom. He got dressed and turned on his laptop. 'My Little Pony time,' he thought. “My little pony, my little pony,” the speakers sang out. He hummed in time with the catchy tune as he hunched over to look at the screen. “Matthew!, are you watching that stupid TV show again!” his sister yelled right through the thin walls. Matthew ignored the comment and he continued watching the show. Today was going to be his lazy day, watching My Little Pony over a Soda and some snacks.
Click! The sound of a pop can opening up to have its soda consumed. Matthew took a sip as Twilight Sparkle ran to her Canterlot library. The colourful pictures illuminated his drab room. My Little Pony is the only thing he looks forward to anymore. His parents argued, and his sister teased. These ponies have a life he doesn't have. They have friends, adventure, they all have nice homes, and always smile when they go along their day. All Matthew had was his laptop, his dreams, and My Little Pony. He doesn't have friends, happiness, or an acceptable home. His life, was not a life at all. He just want to be transported into Equestria like the fan fictions he reads. Sadly, this is real life, He is stuck on the blue-green blob called Earth until someone finds a way to travel through space to distant worlds. The episode finished, he rose from his uncomfortable chair and left his room to the kitchen to replace his empty soda can and get a bowl of chips, when he reached the kitchen, his parents left a note saying: Off to work, behave. Matthew ignored the note and rummaged through the cupboard to discover a bag of Lays. He poured the contents into a bowl he had placed to be blessed with sliced potatoes. He rolled the opening up and placed it back in the cupboard. He trudged on back to his haven to continue watching the show. When he passed his sisters room, Matthew heard One Direction and her talking to her friend. He may practically live in his room, but he still has internet. One thing he knows about music is, he doesn't like One Direction. He continued on down the hallway, family picture after family picture passed by. These reminded him of happier days. His 5th birthday party, Family road trip. The smiles everyone expressed brought a tear to his eye. He then turned and went in his room, clearing a tear from his cheek. He sat down onto the death chair. 'I should take my laptop to my bed. At least my bed is 2 times more comfy then this piece of garbage,' he thought. He unplugged his laptop and tucked the folded computer underneath his shoulder, hitting the chair when he passed it. He walked to his bed and hunkered down until it was passable has a beanbag chair. He was ready to continue. He opened the lid to unveil the credits from the episode he finished. He opened the next can of soda and placed it on his side table. He found the next video on YouTube and clicked it. He lifted his hands from the mouse pad and put a salty chip into his mouth. The theme song played and he hummed it. When the 20th episode finished, he heard his mother come in through the door. She opened his door, looked in and left. He continued his watching with chip crumbs everywhere and 10 empty soda cans on the floor beside him.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK! He jerked his head up and closed his laptop. 'Wonder who that is,' Matthew thought. He got out of his bed, dodging the pop cans. He walked out into the living room to answer the door just to see his mom talking to a suited man. “You're are here to take my son?” His mom asked. The man nodded and said, “We are taking all these children called bronies and pega-sisters.” His mom looked up at the man and asked, “And what are going to do with them?” The man took off his sunglasses and said, “That is none of your concern.” The big government man smirked. Matthew's mom then turned to get him. His eyes widened. He ran to his room, and tried hiding under his bed. Matthew's mom came into his room and saw him immediately. She grabbed his arm and dragged him out. All Matthew could do was start whimpering. “Matthew, nothing bad is going to happen. They might even have soda and chips.” He looked sceptically at her, and rolled his eyes, Matthew walked toward the door. The man stepped to the left as Matthew walked toward the car. Matthew didn't even look back. Another suited agent walked out of the passenger side of the car and opened the back door. Matthew ducked his head and slid into the back seat. To his surprise there was a girl there. She looked around his age, 14-15. She looked beside to him and smiled nervously, He smiled back. Matthew was slightly attracted to her. He long brown hair shimmered, her big baby-blue eyes were like a maze, he couldn't help but get lost in them. Her smile seemed to highlight her pale skin. She was perfect compared to Matthew's messy dirty-blonde hair and dull blue eyes. Matthew reached out his hand for a shake and said, “My name's Matthew, nice to meet you.” The girl smiled back and shyly said, “My name is Emilia.” Matthew just nodded and said, “Emilia, that's a beautiful name.” Matthew couldn't help but smile. She looked at him, Matthew just couldn’t believe how perfect she was. He then teared his gaze from her to stare at the back of the front-seat headrest. He didn't want to do this, but he didn't want to look like a weirdo. She probably noticed him, because he just heard her giggle a little bit. The car was very simple. Grey interior, grey tinted windows and black exterior. Matthew looked out the window to see the cities downtown nearing. The Brony and the Pega-sister sat there for what felt like a century. Street light after street light passed by. Matthew put his elbow on the arm rest and rested his head on his hand. He watched has houses turned into apartments then into Skyscrapers. The city that Matthew lived in wasn't that big, but it wasn't to small either. The city was around 125 years old. It was booming in the natural gas business and had a major railway running through it. The city had a public school board and a catholic school board. He and his sister went to a private school though, that's why his house wasn't the best and his parents had to work all day. He didn't like it though, the classes were small and everyone was to busy to make friends. The car jolted to a stop. “We are here,” The agent said Gruffly.
