Long before Twilight Sparkle and the new Elements of Harmony, there was a war between Equestria and the Dragon Lands, fought over land, power, and food. The dragons were far more powerful and were willing to do the unthinkable to anypony that stood in their way. Some were content to take the riches of the lands and ponies that they conquered, others looked for more, primal rewards for their efforts. Yet one day, there came word of a dragon who stood against the others, who protected ponies and took nothing in return. This is the story of how she came to be, how she turned the tide of the war, and eventually, became a hero to rival the greatest champions Equestria has ever known.
