Scenery Corner
Scene #5
Previous ChapterNext ChapterA sniffle was heard as Zephyr turned on his right of the door, it was slightly creaked opened as he saw his wife, sitting on the edge of the bed as the only source of light was from the window. It's been quite a rough day for her, since she lost something. Something that was meaningful and loved for ages since she was a teenager;
It was her job. The job at the Sushi Place. It was heart-wrenching as she heard about it closing down due to bankruptcy. Her boss was the nicest yet sternest man she'd ever met. She'll truly never forgot about him. And she remembered the times of how her and Zephyr would sometimes meet each other during their lunch breaks. They'd have their lunch, laugh and just be romantic to another. But now her problem was that, she had to get a new job which would take time and it'll be difficult.
Laura continued to sob as she wiped her tears of her face slowly, as she sniffled once again. Zephyr frowned before letting out a soft sigh. He didn't want to see her cry, it was his m'lady. His beloved. So, he thought about it for a moment. Would it be rude for him to come in? Would she yell at him? What will happen?
Before making the move, he decided to make his choice which took a minute. Go in, He thought. Cheer up your love. Before breathing in then out, he slowly opened the door as it made a creaking sound. His pupils lowered before he saw his wife popped her head up before she turned her head towards him.
"Zephyr?" She whimpered.
"Oh, m'lady. Um, I'm sorry for coming in and-" He was paused.
"N-no, no. I-it's fine" She said, as she sniffled and wiped her tears. Zephyr frowned as he slowly walked towards her. He sat beside her on the edge of the bed.
"A-are you feeling better?" He asked.
"Well," She sighed before nodding. "No. I-I just don't. It's not fair."
"Honey, some things have to come to an end." He said, trying to sound wise but failed.
Laura looked at him, before she began to tear up again. She slowly began to wail as she put her hands on her face. Zephyr jumped from this as he covered his mouth.
"M-m'lady! I'm sorry! I-I didn't-" He was paused.
"No! No, it's f-fine again." She muffled as she went on the bed. She lied down as she put her head on the bed as she wrapped her arms around her head. She continued to sob. Zephyr turned his head, before he frowned. Seeing this way made his heart wrench in emotion. He sighed as he went on the bed softly, he grabbed his m'lady, hugging her.
She sniffled as she slowly looked up from her crying. She wiped her tears before turning around as she was in front of Zephyr, as he hugged her. Her cheeks turned red before she slowly wrapped her arms around him.
"Zephyr, please-"
"Shh, it's okay. I understand." He softly said, as he slightly tighten the hug.
"H-how do you know how I feel? Y-you've never had your w-workplace bankrupted." She said, cuddling into him before a tear fell from her eye. Her husband sighed as he slowly un-tightened the hug. He slowly put his hand under chin, making her look up to him.
"M'lady, I understand. I truly do. I know how it feels to lose something, something that you either loved or worked at. Like Star X, I used to work there until I got fired," He sighed as he slightly smiled. "I remembered how it was yesterday, getting a call from the place and them saying be there by nine. I was so happy," He paused again before Laura spoke up as Zephyr removed her tears.
"A-and, what does this have to do with my job?" She asked.
"What I'm saying, is that sometimes the things that you love, you can lose them. Like how one day we're gonna grow old and perhaps, well, perish." He said, making his wife gasp.
"Zephyr! Don't say that! We're not gonna perish and-" A finger was put to her lips, she looked up to her husband as he sighed, once more.
"Let me finish, let me finish m'lady. What I am saying is, sometimes things that we love would sometimes disappear. Like you know how you loved those cupcakes Sprinkle Pie made." He said.
Laura lifted a brow. "You mean, Pinkie Pie?" She asked.
"Yeah! Haha, sorry. It's just been a while since we spoke." He said, as his wife rolled her eyes. "But anyways, it's like those. And yes, sometimes your gonna miss the times you used to either eat, drink or even go to the certain place. But, m'lady, I'm sure there's another job for you out there in the world. You just, well, gonna figure out what your passion is."
Laura looked up at him before sniffling. "Well, I-I used to play guitar back in high school." She said.
"See? Now, with that I'm sure if you do sing and play guitar, you could work at small bistros or restaurants. You know, sing in front of a crowd?" He said.
"Hmm, well, I gotta think about it," She paused for a moment, before looking up at her husband. "T-thank you Zephyr. I needed that." She said.
"Anytime, m'lady." He said before kissing her forehead. Letting go of her, he slowly sat up from the bed as he stretched. Laura got up also, looking at her husband.
"Hey, Zephyr?"
"Hm, yeah?" He asked.
"Remember, well, those old times when we used to go on cheap dates?" She asked.
"Back in high school? Yeah, why?" He looked at her as she sighed. Her cheeks turned red before looking down.
"Maybe. We could go out for, well, burgers?" She said.
Zephyr looked at her before giving out a small chuckle. He put an arm around his lady.
"Is that what you like?" He asked.
Laura nodded as Zephyr once again laughed.
"Okay, if that'll make you feel better, I'll buy." He said.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"I'm sure."
