Apple Bloom looked at the sunset falling over the apple orchard. She had aged since her youthful days in miss Cheerilee's class, and it showed in most splendid ways. She was slim, but strong. Her red mane was in a ponytail like her older sister, but tied with bows as she wore as a filly. Her eyes were warm, bright and friendly, and not to mention gorgeous. Her yellow coat shined like the sun that was dying in the horizon. She could be called Ponyville's most beautiful mare with little disagreement, but she did not know or care much about her looks. She only cared that she helped her siblings with the apple orchard, and, what she had been working for forever, her cutie mark. At sixteen, she was disappointed to still see her flank bare. Only snooty Diamond Tiara and her little follower, Silver Spoon teased her. Nopony really listened to them, though. Apple Bloom's deep thought was interrupted by a bark. She turned and saw her sister's dog, Winona, at her side. She stroked the dog. "Innit beautiful out, Winona?" The dog barked happily and licked her cheek. "Winona..." Apple Bloom chuckled, rubbing her cheek. The dog turned heel and started running towards the house. The mare followed her, laughing, while the setting sun bathed them in it's warm, gentle glow.
Apple Bloom woke up, her room filled with the rising sun's pink shine. She checked her flank as to see if she had earned something in her sleep. Her flank as blank as ever. She stretched and yawned, before slipping out of bed and going downstairs for breakfast. Granny Smith was making pancakes, and the sweet smell of syrup wafted around the house. Applejack was drinking coffee at the kitchen table, obviously not fully awake. Apple Bloom poured Winona a bowl of dog food before sitting down at the table for pancakes. She shoveled the food into her mouth, downed a cup of orange juice, and dashed outside. Applejack chuckled. "She won't stop till she gets it, eh Big Mac?" The large stallion was fast asleep, his face smashed into his pancakes.
The little mare couldn't stop. Not until she got to the clubhouse. Today they were having a meeting, and a great meeting it would be! Sweetie Belle was turning sixteen, and they planned to throw her the best party ever. When Apple Bloom got there, Scootaloo was already decorating.
