How it came

One Week Later...

The low rumble of distant thunder sounded over the town as a multitude of ponies moved around Ponyville Town Square park, picking up tree limbs and pulling down broken branches in preparation for the storm.

Well, save for one pony.

A white unicorn with a purple mane and tail. She seemed more intent on working on her topiary skill rather than do any real work.

Rarity's magic collected a branch and reattached it to a tree. She looked over the dead branch and the few leaves left on it with a frown. She gasped softly at the idea crossing her mind before her horn glowed once more and the remaining leaves took on the shapes of dancing ponies.

“Perfect.” Rarity smiled, only to have a lasso flip up over the end of the branch, yanking the dead limb off the tree again.

“What?!” Rarity stated turning to glare back at the pony at the other end of the rope.

“Just take the broken limbs down Rarity,” Applejack ordered. "Don't ya'll care about nothing but prettifying?”

“Some pony has to.” Rarity scoffed.” You are making an absolute mess of the town square.”

“Yeah well, the storms gonna make an even bigger mess if we don't prune all these loose branches so they don't tumble down on any pony, or anything.” Applejack countered.

“I simply cannot understand why the Weather Patrol had to schedule such a dreadful downpour this evening and ruin what could have been a glorious afternoon.” Rarity whined.

The Earth pony sighed, before kicking the tree. "Think more practical-like will ya, they accidentally skipped a schedule sprinkle last week, so we need to doozy of a downpour to make up for it is all." She said and then it started to rain.

"Oh no! My wonderfully styled mane shall be ruined!" The Unicorn screaming about her mane and trying to dodge raindrops.

"Ya shoulda hurried up and finished the job already."

"Oh! Ah! Oh! Ph! It's coming down too fast! Ah! Oh! Oh! Ah! Help me!

Applejack looks around before the farm pony notices a nearby picnic table. "There, hunker down to your heart's content whilst I finish things."

The fashionista unicorn did just that running over to the picnic table, though before she could go back to work the mare started whining again. Applejack sighed and trotted over to her.

”What now..?” She deadpanned.

“I prefer not to get my hooves muddy.”

The farmer groaned. "There is just no pleasin' ya, is there? Everything's got to be just so."

"And how does muddying my hooves serve any useful purpose?"

"Y'all wouldn't know useful if it came up and bit ya."

"That doesn't make any sense."

"Does so."

"Does not."

"Does so."

"Does not."

"Does so."

"Does not."

“Does so infinity, HA!” Applejack countered.

“Does so infinity, plus one!” Rarity smirked as the pair glared at each other.

“Ya'll should probably be on yer way before ya say something yer gonna regret.” Applejack growled her eyes narrowed at the white mare.

“Indeed perhaps we should go our separate ways before you say something you will regret first!” Rarity countered returning the glare.

The two of them slowly started backing away from each other until a sudden flash of lightning and crash of thunder made both of them scream out and dart back together in a panicked hug.

“Perhaps we should stick together and find some shelter.” Rarity pointed out.

“And fast.” Applejack stated noting the wind and rain were picking up.

“Applejack? Rarity?” a voice called out over the sound of the rising wind.

Looking around the pair notice the large tree at the other end of the park, one with a purple unicorn standing at the back door yelling at them.

“Twilight?” Applejack questioned.

“What are you two doing out here? Come inside quick!” Twilight shouted urging them towards the library.

Not having to be asked twice both of them rushed towards the door as another flash of lightning lit up the sky. Though Applejack paused at the door.

“Um yah, is staying inside a tree is the best place during a lightning storm?” Applejack questioned.

"It is if you have a magical lightning rod protecting your home as I do." The librarians smiled. "Come on in."

The orange pony was about to enter but get cut off by the white mare. Asking her to clean her muddy hoof from before as she grumbles to herself. "If I gotta spend one more second with that fussbudget Rarity today, I can't be held responsible for what I'm gonna do."

“The weather team's outdone themselves this time hmm?” Twilight stated. ”Hope you two don't have any trouble getting home.”

“It may be a bit of trouble." Rarity muttered flipping her mane a bit trying to fix a few stray hairs that had sprung loose from the rain.

“Well, you're welcome to stay if you like. Spike and Leo are away in Canterlot on royal business so I'm all alone tonight."

Canterlot, Inside the Castle...

"Wow, Sir Bouncer! That's a really good way to help those foal to stand up from those bullies." Leo feels energized, can't believe how long they have left Canterlot. "And I thought you guys just stood around, staring to nothingness."

The Cub giggled in front of the royal guard, they don't mind him for having a conversation with each other. It's getting bored right now since he left the place to follow his sister bringing about new friendship to her new friends, making the atmosphere in the hallway a bit of loneliness and to in the fact that he the only one that makes the place feel alive.

"Just glad they can be tough to defend thyself." The Unicorn guard sly smiled, very rare to see one of the Celestia guards doing it. "Who knows, those foal is gonna be the next line of the royal guard."

"Would doubt it!"

The double door at the upfront was opened wide to see a purple Drake exiting the room with a bunch of document from his claws, it seems that he has completed the job for the looks of his face, a very smiling chubby Dragon. "It's finished!"

"Congrats, Bro!" The Lion clap his paws, happy that the business is over. "Oh, here, put it on my saddlebag."

He lay low on the floor so Spike could put it inside, asking help from the guard as it used his white magic aura to open the clip and carefully putting in inside. Once it in, the sibling thank you to the Unicorn before they walk to the next location.

"Okay, now we just gonna send it to Shining Armour and we can leave," Spike started, looking at the window, he could see a grey cloud cover-up Ponyville. "Uh, maybe we should stick around for a bit."

"How about we go to our parent's house?" Leo asked. "It's being while now after all."

"Ehh, sure."

They go on, waving to anypony that come nearby, some of them are maid or butler, who usually cleaning up the hallway and also serve the royal family. Other are more royal guard who Leo knew all of them, even a recruit one he greets too.

So far living in the town of full of ponies were great, they care to each other, laugh together, helping out even though there are not the same tribes. Yeah, Leo and Spike, we're the only one who non-species like their sister and big brother. Aside from Gilda of course, the duo hangs out much time if they have free time, much like to their sister who likes to make an experiment that's can go nut and the Captain of the Royal Guard as well who is keeping an eye on Princess Cadence.

Ah, yes, the Princess of Love if Leo remember. He tried his best to recall all things that happen since he was just a tiny cub, it going to get tough if he keeps on, concern by his brother, but he needs to stay strong if he wants to help the one who couldn't do much. Back to the princess, she has been babysitting for like a year when he and the rest of the sibling's except for Shining, but she handles quite good for an alicorn. Sure there's a lot a situation needs to complies, she also attends on dating Shining Armour when their teenager back then. Leo couldn't help but to chucked a bit as he saw them doing a lip action.

"What so funny, Leo?" The Dragon asked.

"Oh just recollect back when we were a kid." He replied.

The Drake smiled, looks like he the same as well. "Yeah...oh! Remember the last time you almost destroy the window with your lightning power?"

The Golden Lion gasped surprised. "Oh yeah! It's also the day when I got the Elemental Power!"

Flashback...

"Twilight! Shining!" Called out from the Unicorn mare, waiting at the front door. "Hurry up! We'll be late to go get your two report card at school."

"Coming, Mother!" Shouted another mare, sound of the hoof can be heard as a galloping Unicorn with her trusty saddlebag within the back. "All set!"

"Same here!" A male voice, coming from the living room is a white Unicorn stallion. "I'm ready."

"Oh! Wait a minute!" The lavender one halted, forgetting something, or someone. "Spike! Leo! C'mon! We leaving."

Silent for a moment before she called out again, but the same result too as it seems that there doesn't respond for some reason.

"Hm? Where are they?" Shining asked. "Leo! Come on down here!"

"Leo having a cephalalgia." Said the blue Unicorn stallion as he walks down the stairs to meet up with the rest of them. "And he just received just now."

The cause the second sibling gasped. "What?! Those he needs any treatment?" Twilight worried. "Was it bad? He is just okay since yesterday. How did this happen? Ohh, I feel fretting now."

Night Light smiled while rubbing her mane. "You don't have to worry about, Twilight. He doesn't feel well so he needs somepony to look after him and Spike, so I will be staying here for they own safety, okay?"

Twilight Velvet place her hoof on Twilight. "We just gonna take the report card and if your grad is good, I promise to you that we will go buy some new book you want it that much."

"Oh yeah! You promise that!" She squeaks excited, before turning toward her dad. "Dad, take good care of them, okay?"

"I will."

"Alright, we off." Velvet said, kissing her husband on his cheek before heading outside with her pony children.

Leader of the family waved at them, wishing they luck to get a good mark from the exam. Well, looks like he's alone now, with his adopting sons, closing the door so no burglar come and stole their expensive things, he keeps doing his best for looking after his family with addition, adopting a Lion and a Dragon at the same time back then. At first, he thought that the lion would devour his daughter like last time but to his surprise as well his wife, he didn't do anymore. Weird, usually some creature will doing it again like three or five times before it won't happen again, but Leo seems to learn his lesson so quickly even though he still a small cub.

Of course, he will do the sad puppies eyes. With those pair of big grey eyes, he can have anything he wants, thanks celestial that didn't happen. For Spike, however, is big of a problem since he has a fire breathing like a grown-up dragon. Okay, not so crisis at all because the Sparkle parent can put a fire-resistance spell on his room but the outside of the area. Not to mention his sharps claw too, shredding all fabric in his house every time. Leo has already stopped it which an easy job for them to keep control of the dragon behaviour.

He sitting on the couch at the living room, levitate the newspaper from the small table with a cup of coffee he was made before. Supposedly, he made it since he going with his family too but thanks to Leo headache, he can drink it from here. "Well, let me see what anything new about today."

Sipping the coffee, he read a news about a new store has opened up since month.

"What the minute, this is an old newspaper."

In Spike and Leo bedroom...

"Leo? How do you feel?" Asked the Drake, looking at his brother laying on the orange carpet while patting his back.

"I'm fine..." He said, rubbing his head. "Just don't know how this pain suddenly came to me."

"It will be fine, Leo. Dad said he will be at the bottom if we need anything."

"Thanks, Bro." Leo smiled. Very grateful to him for staying with him instead of going with their big siblings, though it's just for them only.

"Why didn't you lay on the bed? It's very comfy and relaxing."

"I want to simply say that I have my own choices."

He smiles, going by his way. Spike sigh for the replies and make himself cosy by resting next to his side belly with a new comic on his claw. "By the way, I left the window open so it let the wind come in for cooling us up."

The golden lion nodded. The two of them were silent, spending some time, reading or napping for a couple of hours to pass by the time, til the cubby Dragon grump. "I'm bored."

"Same too, Bro." Leo chuckled, still closing his eyes.

"I hope there will be some kind of event that something will come out like this issue right here." He said, showing the comic about the Power Ponies to the Lion. Scenes were an exploding blow out the Back right after a stallion said something how common right now.

"Wish that stallion don't die, 'cause that too untimely."

"Of course, not! He's the one who will get kidnapped by the Mane-iac, who's gonna use him as a hostile to draw out the Power Ponies to lure them toward her trap!" He continues, flipping the page before gaped in horror. "NO! It ends right there!"

The Cub giggled. "Sorry, Bro. But next time would seem."

"But I wanna know if the Power Ponies are gonna make it and save that stallion! Who knows what could happen now!"

"Agh..." The pain getting intends as he used both paws as he rolling around the floor, the Dragon shock by the outcome and start to shake him, dropping the comic from aside.

"Leo?! What's the matter?"

"ARRGH... I-I don't know. I just..." He stood up with all of his four legs and begin to shake his head madly.

The action proceeds with a Drake in state of awareness of his brother. Until...

BOOM!!

"Ah?! OW!!" Night Light scream, before falling to the light blue floor, face first. He grumbles, staring at the window and uses his magic to slit the curtain away to the side. Doing that, bringing out the shining sun flashing at his blue coat. 'It's it gonna rain or what?'

That impossible, the ray of daylight given by Princess Celestia can't be right, no grey or dark cloud is nowhere to be seen. He does remember read about the article and it says that the Pegasi will do the rain next weekend. Or is it?

"I should probably warn the boys to shut the window, just to be sure." He said to himself, stand back up while looking at the empty cup on the short table. "After I wash this."

Back at the top of the house, the boys are completely shocked, silence filled the room as there is a glowing shape like usually the Pegasus do when they stop on the cloud to create a rain or a bolt. The second one was the answer, now on Leo's mouth, letting out some of the lightning bolt patterns in small form, flowing to side to side. The colour seems to be yellow with some black pattern of the bolt, and the length was the same as the Lion, who's now looking at it directly on his jaws.

"Leo! A-Are you alright?" Spike asked, trying to get closer only to get zap electrocuted, surprisingly, doesn't have any effect on him. "Huh, guess then I'm lightning-proof too like you!"

He was now in front of the blade, awe by the glowing and the spark came out. He doesn't know what's going on but this leads to the same comic he told before. It kept on insanity, what now?

"Leo, can you do something?" Asked Spike.

The Cub seems to hesitate for a bit, after that, he used his right paws to grab the sword, opened his jaws to make a room for his golden fur paw, there's a handle a the opposite of the bolt. So it makes know to hold it at that side, while the other side it so sharp it can cut an object into half.

"Whoa..." He can say, gazing at the sight were only an airborne creature could do it, well for a mage who can cast a lightning bolt spell were not included since this blade seemingly the last longing then just a simple one-shot spell. It was beyond than any spell his sister and big brother had.

"Wow! Looks to me you got a Lightning power! Or is it magic?" The Dragon has been amazed and assuming the second thought, but no, there's no way a lion could possess such incredible ability. "Anyway, how could you do that."

Leo stared at his younger brother, then grind from his mouth. "Hehe, it was just like this!"

He shook his head, but nothing comes out.

"Eh?"

"Hmm. I don't see anything happening."

"H-How did I do it just now?" He thinks while scratching his head using the lightning-shape-like-blade, only bringing about the heat from the rub that causes him to yelp. "Ah hot, HOT!"

By accident, throwing the sword up in the air on top of the boys. It swirls around before heading back down to his owner. The caster scream, Spike already roll out, taking cover. He raises both of his paws nearly hitting the bolt until the second result.

A gust of wind blows off the lightning blade away from him, explode into a shock ball at the end of the room.

BOOM!!

"Wow!" Surprising the bottom form, he already did his work, almost broken the cup, not until this another sound comes outs. "Seems like it's going to rain. I should probably tell them now."

Exciting the kitchen after putting down the cup on the holder, to the hallway, making sure no open window left behind before ascending to the top. There is an enclosed window actually as he walks toward it.

"Is it just me, or there's it someone that attempts to distract me?" He preoccupied himself.

It's a good thing he down knows about the fourth wall.

"Wow, great!" Spike said, looking at the explosive area. "You have wind power!"

"Yeah, Pawesome!" Leo said, astonishing by his ability.

"SPIKE! LEO!, close the shutters!" Shouted from the downstairs.

"Oh no, Dad!" He panicked, looking at the cause of his destruction, he can see a large black mark next to the window. They will be grounded for sure. "What should we do? What should we do?!"

"Uh... Over here! Maybe we- AH!!" The Drake stop his word only to get a bump by his brother caused him to fall, paws first.

A loud rumbling just started appears, shacking the house like it was nothing! The blue stallion in the mid stairs, shocking and quickly rushes to Leo and Spike room while shouting.

"SPIKE! LEO! There's an earthquake, an earthquake!"

When he opens the door, he saw them just reading a comic on the floor, with the carpet for the softness as it nothing happens.

"Hm? What earthquake dad?"

"Eh?" The Unicorn said, looking around the place, seems like normal just it usually does. Maybe he imagination only. "Ok ok, close the window. I have feeling that the Pegasi is changing their schedule right now. It's going to rain soon."

Trying to hide his expression, he closes the door.

"Ok, dad!" Both of the boys said, before sighting in relief. "Phew, thank god he didn't see it."

"Yeah, he's going to flip out if he finds out." The Lion said while approaching the window, while Spike comes to the spot where there's a black mark but it covers by wardrobe and some beanbag near it.

"Bro, come and look at this!"

The third sibling's awe by the sight he staring at, as his brother comes in his gasp. "Leo, you're a superhero!"

The scene was awesome! There a staircase made of the chuck of earth, up to the window. The side was nice and thank goodness it at the background of the house.

Not much of durable, it falls back to pieces, creating another loud rumble noise that causes a scream of high pitch stallion noise.

"EARTHQUAKE!!"

End of Flashback...

"You scream out like a mare and it was hilarious!" The golden lion said, before laughing in front of his adoptive parents, who's one of a giggle while the other was grumbling.

"Wow, dear. That's very rare to hear it from you." Twilight Velvet giggled, seemingly the boys have reached to the Resident's Sparkle house after sending the document to their older brother.

"H-Hey, I don't know he was about to do that, okay?" Night Light said blush in embarrassingly.

They laughing at each other while the Drake reading the next issue of the Mane-iac vs the Power Ponies with an eager smile.

Phew. Toke me long enough. Is the story of how Leo gaining the Power of Elemental.

Also, I'm using grammar from school so they won't be much like a difficult word, I think.
