Author's Note

First of all, I'm SORRY for skipping five episodes this time... After watching those ten episodes I found out something not suitable for Leo role while the other is seems okay but not in the line of events I want.

Hearth's Warming Eve: Obviously, there's no lion in the story of the three tribes unite.

Family Appreciation Day: Focusing on Applebloom only.

Baby Cakes: Pinkie wanna take care of the baby so much that she decline Leo help. Don't ask...

The Last Roundup: Not many I can make for Leo part and his power that much, except the chase and helping the cherry scenes.

The SSCS 6000: Leo only part helping the Apples in the end, not the other part because for apple family business

That's for it, there's more but I'm SORRY, you all already watch it, I need to make Leo moving into the spotlight even MORE.

Chapter 37: Effective Way (S2E11 - E18)

Effective Way

"I just won't get it, what just happened?" I meet somepony new, check. Introduce myself as well, check. Sing a random song out of nowhere, duh! Of course, but when become instant best friends with him...uncheck."

"Oh?"

"Yeah! At first, I play the blame game but stop after that. If there's somepony new in town, I always need to win him over! I try everything to make him smile and be my friend! Even pulling up a giant green checkmark to my face for emphasizing my plan!"

"Okay."

"I just can't believe it," The one who talks a lot is none other than Pinkie Pie, seems like sadly. "He said he would never forever be my friend. It was horrible."

Twilight just kept reading her book but was still listening to Pinkie talk. She sympathetically. "I know this is hard for you, Pinkie, seeing that your friends with everypony, but you just have to accept that he is gonna be the exception. He just...doesn't want to be bothered."

"Yeah," said Rainbow who also there too, as she sat on the floor reading another Daring Do book, "He doesn't want to be bothered with your over-the-top super-hyper antics." She couldn't resist making her eyes roll about with her remark.

"Rainbow!" Twilight scolded.

"No, no, it's okay, Twilight." Pinkie said. "I get what you're saying. What two of you are saying. And I guess...I can leave him alone..." She closed her eyes sadly as Twilight nodded in agreement, but then Pinkie got a determined look on her face, "...Right after he accepts my apology!"

Twilight blinked and face planted her book as the pink pony got up before...

"Who want some tea and cupcakes!" Shout Leo who bring a tray with teacup, kettle and delicious cupcakes.

"CUPCAKE!?" Pinkie yelled as she zoomed back, flipping out the unicorn and the pegasus as book and paper fly out everywhere. "Gimme gimme gimme!"

"PINKIE!!!" Both readers cried out from the cause she has made.

"Here you go, Pinkie." Leo happily gives the pink mare some cupcake while ignoring the glare coming from the other mare.

With that, she tosses the cupcake into the air and eats it like a piranha. Then, sip some of the tea. "Wow! Delicious! Thanks, Leo!"

The lion smiled as he put the tray on the table. "Your welcome! So, who are you guys talking to?"

"Nothing personal." His sister told. "It just that somepony doesn't want to befriend Pinkie."

Leo stunned. "Woah, really? That's impossible! She like, pure kind of ponies that I never see in Ponyville!"

"I think 'pure kind' is not suitable for Pinkie..." Rainbow Dash whispered to Twilight which she nodded slowly.

"I know right!" The mare is remarkable. "For once, I never see any kind of this situation before. Now, I need to fix it!"

"Who's this pony? A newcomer?" Leo asked.

"Nope! He's a donkey and yes! He just arrived this morning." Pinkie explained.

"A new donkey?!" He exclaimed excitingly. "And here I thought Matilda we're the only one."

"Y’know?!" Pinkie shocked before facing the opposite direction of him. "Well, of course, duh! You know everypony like me! Hey! Maybe we could be buddy or partner! We should make a group club to let everypony join too! Twilight and Rainbow Dash can join too right? Silly me, there can enrol too! We can do it at my place! Or Sugarcube Corner or..."

One hour later...

"And then we can make a party of "Happy-celebration-of-our-buddy/Partner-party!" She...finally finished as she turned around to see no one there. "Hey, where everypony go?"

"Already left." Answer the librarian, as she comes out from the kitchen. "The moment you start talking about me and Rainbow Dash, Leo was the first to leave. After you talk about everypony should weird friendship clothing Rainbow Dash we're the second to leave while I have to stay because this is my house.

"Oh~!" Pinkie understood before looking around. "What time is it?"

"One hour has passed."

"An hour?!?" She yelled out closer to Twilight who look stunned at first. "Oh, sweet celestia! I need to apologise to Cranky before it's too late!"

"Don't worry, Leo got you cover." Twilight simply said which make the pink mare confused.

"Huh?"

Just then, the door open. Revealing the lion with a happy expression. "Guess what girls! I got a new friend!"

"Figure," Twilight said with smiled. "Did you brought him?"

The manipulator simply nodded as he moves aside a little, behind him was the donkeys. One is Matilda, and another one is...

"Cranky?!" Pinkie exclaimed as she looked at him...happy.

"Yes, Pinkie. The reason I was here is to thank you." He said smiled at her.

"Me?"

"Yes, for always never giving up for me." He said while looking at Leo, confusing the pink mare. "This lion told me about your real purpose, to making me smile..."

"Really?"

The male donkey nodded. "Well, despite how you handled everything...you still there to supported everypony...even when you create something that didn't make sense or...it was just me who only think for myself were the worse. Thank you...for being such a good friend."

"And...?" Pinkie seems hopeful.

"Yes, Leo told me about this, I accepted your apologies." Cranky with a genuine tone. "And I am honoured to call you my friend."

Those words made Pinkie's day as she smiled widely and her body began to tremble. Everyone backed away a bit before sitting down on the ground."

"Happiness overload in 3...2...1..." Said Leo when Pinkie rocketed into the air and exploded like a firework in the evening sky, destroy the library rooftop. "Liftoff...we have liftoff!"

Twilight looked up horrifying at her house. "My...roof."

"Woo-hoo! This is fantastic!" Pinkie screams out as she jumped around and started talking and bouncing about like a pony who had way too much sugar, aka she being her normal self, "Oh! Now we can hang out together and chat and sing songs and..." She gasped, "...party! Oh, I have to throw you guys a big party. It'll be called "Welcome to Ponyville/I Found My Lost Love/I'm BFFs with Pinkie Pie" party..."

Then the mare noticed that the two donkeys are not paying attention to her and she quickly settled down, "...Or maybe something less over-the-top and not so super-hyper." Cranky and Matilda just smiled.

"Pinkie, we're eternally grateful to you, but... Matilda and I just want to spend some time together in peace." He said.

"Oh. Um, but we're still friends?"

"Pinkie, you went way, way, way out of your way to make me happy," Cranky said as he approached her, "Of course, we're friends."

"Great!" She is happy about it as the donkeys headed back to the house. Pinkie and Leo smiled as they watched them leave.

The unicorn approaches her brother. "Woah, Leo. I'm impressed that you make friend with Cranky like an hour."

"Yeah... How did you do it? It took me like an entire day to try it." Pinkie asked curiously.

Leo feels proud of the compliment "Well, it took a simple skill of understanding to do it..."

Flashback, what really happens...

In the area where the male donkey lives, he finally goes outside after that pink psycho mare gives up on befriended him. He does normal everyone does, but here he picks up some box of his stuff and put it outside for giving some space for the inside. This thing common thing went moving into a new place.

The way he doing within a flash was he in hurry her might come back for him. And he really doesn't want that. Luckily, he doesn't spot a single pony in his sight which makes him glad. But fate had another plan...

Cranky hear a footing step as he quickly turns around to see who it is. Surprising him was a male lion, smiling at him.

"Hi!"

At first, Doodle, could shout at the lion to leaves him alone or running for his life from carnivores eaters but after witnessing her, what can he do to this particular lion?

Leo approach the donkey, with an innocent smiled as Cranky doesn't have a word to form so he goes with it. So he sighs and closed his eyes. "Howdy, uh...can I-"

*CLICK*!

Cranky froze as he opens his eyes, and stare down to see the handcuffs of his right hoof and the lion left paw being attached. Where did this teenager get this from?

"Wanna hang out? There's someone I need to show you."

The donkey looks at the lion, not amused at all but he didn't know this is how adults make friend with...simple but effective.

"Fine. Make it quick." Cranky simply said. It's even better than the crazy pink pony one...
