Snuggles, Nuzzles, and Belly Rubs

Blue Fang grumbled, looking around the hive. He sighed and walked through the hallways, not interacting with any of the other changelings who waved or tried to talk to him. He simply scoffed, growled, or even sometimes roared at the ‘Rainbow Bugs’. The unreformed changeling sighed and continued walking.

“What crawled up Blue’s rear?”
Kydra looked at Dagger, the changeling who asked the question. “What?” she asked.
He rolled his eyes. “You heard me. What crawled up Blue’s rear last night?”
Brokenwing looked at him. “I dunno. But he’s angrier than usual.”
Mitchell, a changeling with a wooden leg, looked over. “Woke up on the wrong side?”
Broken nodded. “Probably.” He sighed and walked over to his brother. He looked at Blue, a friendly smile on his face. “Hey Blue. What’s wro—”
Hiss!
Broken flinched and backed up. “Uh… okay.”
Blue continued ~~trotting~~ stomping through the hive hallways. He glared at just about everyone who stared at him.
Broken walked back to the others. “Yep, something is definitely up,” he said, frowning.
Dagger looked at Blue, who glared at him. “Yikes. Someone steal his candy or something?” he asked.
Mitchell looked at him. “Pfft, I dunno. But something has to be bothering him.”
“Also, is it just me, or does he look…” Mantis tried to find the words.
“Pale?” Dagger asked.
“What do you mean?” Mitchell asked.
“Look at his fangs and eyes,” Stinger said, pointing at them. “They’ve lost their color.”
Broken nodded. “Yep. Something is definitely wrong.”
Kydra tilted her head as Blue disappeared around a corner. She frowned. “Well, I’m gonna make him feel better.”
“That was a quick plot advance,” Dagger said.
“Fourth wall Dag,” Mantis said, polishing his goggles. He then turned to Kydra. “Anyway, why do you wanna help Blue?”
“Because I’m his girlfriend! And he needs me! And because I have nothing better to do today.” She walked off after him, the others watching as she left.
Dagger looked at Mantis. “So about this ‘fourth wall’...”

Kydra chased after Blue, not trying to keep her distance. He, of course, noticed. He sighed and turned around. “What Kydra?”
She smiled and trotted up to him. “Hey Blue. Is something wrong?” she asked, a gentle smile on her face.
He growled and rolled his eyes. “It doesn’t matter, Kydra,” he said, trying to walk off
She walked over to him, beginning to nuzzle him. She smiled and looked at him. “Come on Blue, you can tell me.”
Blue looked at her before pulling away. Ky leaned a bit too far and topped over onto the ground. “Oof!” She picked herself up and watched as Blue simply continued walking.
She shook her head. Huh. He is pretty mad. she thought. She continued to follow the once blue-fanged changeling. “Blue wait!”

Blue sighed, looking back to see that he’d (thankfully) lost the magenta-eyed changeling and her silver earring. He looked around as many changelings stared at his grey, hole-filled, chitinous body. He glared, growled, and hissed at them. He stopped to take a rest on a bench. He leaned back, getting comfortable. He took a breath and watched as the clouds rolled by. He sighed again. Whew, thankfully, there’s no sign of—
“Boop!”
Blue looked at a hoof, which landed on his nose. He jumped in surprise. “Gah! What the—”
He looked over his shoulder to see Kydra hoping over the bench and sitting next to him. “Hey Bluey!” she said happily, much to his chagrin.
He growled. “Hello Kydra…” he muttered, pushing her hoof off of his nose. “Why are you here? You wanna pester me some more?”
She giggled. “No silly! I wanna lift you outta your funk!” she said, beginning to nuzzle his stomach.
His lips started quivering. “K-Ky! Stop that!” he said, trying to hold back his… giggles?
Kydra looked up, a confused expression on her face. “Why? I’m just nuzzling you—” She paused, then noticed his quivering lips, a grin forming on her face. “Heheh. Aww, is Bluey ticklish?” she asked, a grin plastered on her face.
He blushed. “N-No! That’d be stupid!” Blue countered.
“M’kay, sure.” She smirked and continued nuzzling his belly.
“Gah! St-Stop it!” Blue tried pulling away, but her grip was way too strong. He couldn’t take it anymore. “Ky! S-Stop it! Or I’ll— I’ll— Ghehehe!” He quickly put a hoof over his mouth.
She briefly stopped nuzzling and looked at him. “Aww! That was so adorable!”
He turned red, not with flattery, but embarrassment. He glared at Kydra the best that he could. “Sh-Shut up!” he yelled. “I’m not adorable or cute or… ARGH!” He pushed her away before storming off.
Kydra blinked. “Huh. I need to double my efforts.” She got up and chased after him.

Blue Fang continued walking. After a while, he accidentally bumped Thorax. “Hi Blue Fang!” he cheered happily.
“Hi… Thorax,” Blue monotoned, holding his head low, but keeping his eyes on Thorax.
Thorax smiled. “Say, we’re planning a party, you wanna he—”
“No.”
“Could you at least—”
“No.”
“Will you listen to—”
“No.”
“... I love—”
“No.”
“Aw…” Thorax looked down and walked off. Blue watched as Pharynx and Ocellus trotted over.
“What the heck was that?” Pharynx asked.
Blue simply stared. “It’s the rod I am going to shove up your—”
Ocellus quickly covered her ears.
Pharynx gasped. “Blue Fang! There are young ears present!” he paused for a second. “Not that I’ve ever cared about that… But still!”
Blue simply rolled his eyes. He walked off.
“Hey! Are you listening to me?! Get back here you son of a mare!”
Blue paused and snatched a cake from a changeling. Ocellus stepped back from Pharynx, who watched in confusion. “Where are you going?”
He turned back around to see Blue standing right in front of him. “Shoot.”
Kydra walked through the hallways when…
“AHHH!”
She stopped and blinked, before continuing to walk. She eventually found and watched as Pharynx walked past her, covered head to hoof in… cake? She shook her head and kept running.

Kydra kept walking, finding Blue standing in front of a crowd, yelling at them about his bad mood. She smirked and got an idea. She slowly creeped over to the shouting changeling. She giggled before jumping up and…
“Boop!”
Blue Fang flinched. “Ahh!” he screamed, looking at the hoof on his nose. Another very embarrassed blush filled his face. “K-Kydra!”
She reached at his belly and gave him a belly rub. “Don’t worry everyling, Bluey absolutely loves belly wubs,” she said in a baby-like voice.
He stared in shock as the crowd started giggling. He then threw Kydra to the ground. He let out a growl as tears filled as his eyes. “Stop! Why can’t you stop?! I have tried to be nice! I have tried to be respectful! But you just won’t stop!”
“Blue… I was just trying to—”
“Why’d you embarrass me?! Why?!”
Kydra’s started breathing heavily. “Bl-Blue… I didn’t mean to… I’m sorr—”
Blue let out a roar.
Kydra ran off. He growled and ran off as well.

Kydra laid on her bed, sighing heavily. She looked around the room, then to the doorway as Broken walked in. She sat up, a sad expression on her face.
“Aw, what’s wrong Ky?” he asked, sitting down on the bed.
She sighed. “It’s Blue. He’s really mad. And I think I made it worse…”
Broken nodded. “I see…” he said, looking down. He then looked at her. “Come on, lemme show you something.”
She looked at him. “O-Okay.”
He led her towards Blue, who was sitting on a bench. They watched as a baby bird hopped over. He looked at it.
Kydra stared worriedly. “Oh no… He’s going to eat that baby bird,” she whispered.
Broken smiled. “Shh… Just watch.”
Blue tilted his head; the baby bird did the same. Blue lifted his right wing, and the bird did the same. He lifted his left wing and the bird copied. He then began slowly flapping his wings and the bird copied.
The bird then lifted off of the ground. Blue also lifted off of the ground. Soon enough, the baby bird found itself back in its nest, with Blue gently patting it’s head.
Kydra stared in shock and awe. She couldn’t believe her eyes. Blue wasn’t gonna hurt the baby bird. Actually helped it. She looked at Broken, who smiled. “See? He just needs to be approached calmly and collectively.”
She smiled a bit and watched as Blue walked off, heading towards his room. She looked at Broken, a smile on her face. “Thank you,” she said, leaning over to gently kiss Broken on the cheek.
Broken blushed before nodding. “Good luck.” He began to walk away. “And don’t tell Blue you kissed me.”
She smiled before walking back to Blue’s room.

Blue laid in bed with a plushie laying next to him. He smiled at tiny Snuggle Fang. He nuzzled the small plushie, then hearing hoofsteps. He looked up to his doorway, trying to see who it was. To his surprise and chagrin, it was Kydra.
He sighed and rolled over to face away from her. She trotted over, sitting on the bed. She sighed and looked at him, rubbing his transparent wings.
He froze like a deer in headlights. He looked back at her, watching her hoof graze across his wings.
She smiled at him, which soon turned to a frown. “Blue… I’m sorry…” She held her head low. “Sorry for everything…”
Blue looked at her, then rolled onto his carapace. “I’m sorry too… I shouldn’t have been so mean…” Blue said, now keeping his eyes fixed on the roof. He looked at Ky, who returned with a smile of her own.
She laid down next to him, gently moving Snuggle Fang over to make room. She smiled and reached over, giving his belly a gentle rub. She then wrapped a hoof around him, beginning to nuzzle him. He smiled and closed his eyes, wrapping a hoof around him. She gently returned the embrace, planting a kiss on his forehead. He smiled before drifting off to sleep, his original color scheme returning. Kydra smiled, also falling asleep.
