Ponies for Earth’s Rebirth. A lot of questions surround that group. No one is quite sure what to make of them. Are they all misanthropes? Have they seen a flaw so erroneous, so ingrained, that all hope for humanity has left their minds, replaced by faith in the Solar Empire?

No one can say for certain. Not for lack of speculation, but for lack of definitive information. Everything has been tried. Captured PER veterans, fractured units, ragtag groups... it doesn’t matter. Silence is what mostly meets the curious.

But there’s a phrase – a tautology of sorts – that slips through the cracks, spoken in hushed tones:

You don’t leave the PER behind.

Whether you are the most devout follower or a simple bystander acting in their favor; the moment you convert someone – the moment you take away all that a human being is and warp it into a caricature of a pony – you are tainted. Hide from the shame, deny your crimes, beg for mercy. You might think you’ve left the PER. You dare to hope.

You can’t leave the PER behind.

This is a side-story to both SPECTRUM and Spectrum: Redux. If you know the basics from those universes, you are good to go.

Update: as of 16/10/2021, the source material that was used for this story has been changed. Spectrum: Redux is no longer being updated and SPECTRUM has been remastered, with a lot of scenes changed. That means this side-story is currently in a fanon limbo that I can't quite explain, though I admit to be interested in these new possibilities. Currently, I do not have a resolution about this story's future or possible changes I will make (progress has been very slow, regardless).
