My Little Pony: Dueling Is Magic
Spike and Twilight were sitting at a table in the library. They both had decks of cards on their side, but they weren't any normal cards. These were Yugioh cards. They had just come out recently, and Spike had been begging for her to get him some after he saw Snips and Snails playing. Now she found herself with her own deck, ready to duel Spike.
It was then that there was a knocking at the door. Spike let out an annoyed groan. They had been about to play. "I'll get it." said Twilight, hopping down from the chair. She walked to the door, and opened it to find her five friends. "Oh, hey girls, what are you doing here?" she asked.
"Well we-" Rainbow Dash was interrupted by Spike clearing his throat, and tapping his foot impatiently. "Hey what's that?" she asked.
"It's a game called Yugioh." said Twilight.
"Ooooh! A game! How do you play?!" asked Pinkie, bouncing around. This is where Spike cut in.
"You use these." he said, holding up a deck of cards.
"Pfft. That looks lame." scoffed Rainbow Dash.
"Actually it's really fun." said Twilight.
"Says the egghead." said Rainbow Dash.
"Rainbow Dash. Be a little more considerate of other ponies feelings." said Rarity.
"I, um, I think it actually looks kinda interesting." Fluttershy said in a voice no more than a whisper.
"Oh! Oh! Show us how to play." Pinkie told her.
"Well I don't know." started Twilight.
"C'mon please!" Pinkie begged. Twilight let out a sigh.
"Okay." she said.
"Yes!" said Pinkie, and Spike at the same time. Twilight walked over to the other side of the table, and sat down where she was previously as her friends gathered around the table waiting to see what the card game was about.
"Alright Spike, let's shuffle." she said as she used her magic to shuffle her cards. Spike picked up his, and shuffled them. They then set the decks in the middle, and the other one took it, and cut it in half, putting the bottom half on the top. They then gave the decks back to their owners.
"I'll start." said Spike, drawing six cards.
"Okay, girls, I'll try to explain this as best I can." Twilight said, levitating up five cards, "You start out with five cards. At the beginning of each turn you draw another one."
"I'll set a monster, and play a card face down." Spike said, setting two cards face down, one sideways, "I end my turn."
Hmm. Probably a trap card. Thought Twilight. "Okay girls, it's now my turn. The goal of the game is to get the opponent's life points down from 8000 to zero. As Spike just did you can play one monster per turn. It can be a set summon where you place it in face down defense position, or in face up attack position." she explained as she drew a card.
She smirked. I think I'll play this. She thought. "Alright Spike. I summon Skilled Dark Magician." she said, placing a card face up. It was some kind of bipedal creature wearing a robe. "And now I attack your face down monster." she said. Spike smirked, and flipped the card over. Twilight let out a gasp, and grew pale. On Spike's field was The White Stone of Legend.
"What? What happened?" asked Pinkie.
"You destroyed my White Stone of Legend." said Spike, picking up his deck, "You know what that means." Twilight gulped. She did, he'd used this strategy many times already. She couldn't believe she'd been stupid enough to fall for it.
"What's so special about that?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"Since she destroyed my card I get to add Blue Eyes White Dragon to my hand." he said, showing them a card with a picture of a large blue dragon on it.
"Okay, that's kinda cool." Rainbow admitted. Spike reshuffled his deck, and placed it back down.
"Luckily for you I don't have my Kaibaman right now." he told her. Twilight let out a relieved sigh. She still had a chance, but if he got that Blue Eyes out on the field she was a goner.
"I'll place one card face down, and end my turn." she said, placing one card face down on the field. It was now Spike's turn. Spike drew a card and grinned.
"I'll play my Axe Dragonute." he said, placing a card face up on the field. It looked like some kind of dragon holding an axe. "I'll attack your Skilled Dark Magician." he said, "Since Axe Dragonute has 2000 attack points, and Skilled Dark Magician only has 1900 it's destroyed, and you loose 100 life points."
Twilight levitated the Skilled Dark Magician off to the side. "What just happened?" asked Rainbow Dash, becoming more and more transfixed to this game.
"Our monsters fought. Because my monster was in attack position, and was weaker than Spike's I lost life points equal to the difference in strength. If my monster was in defense position I wouldn't have taken any damage, and if my monster's defense had been higher then he would have taken damage, but his monster wouldn't be destroyed." Twilight explained.
"Because of Axe Dragonute's effect he switches to defense position." Spike said, turning the card sideways, "I end my turn."
"I activate my trap card, Call of The Haunted!" said Twilight, flipping her card over to reveal a purple color, "With it I bring back my Skilled Dark Magician." With that she levitated her monster back onto the field. "Now I use Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your face down trap card." she said, placing a green card onto the field.
Spike growled, and placed his Burst Breath in his graveyard. He knew what was coming next. "Since I used a spell card I'll place a spell counter on Skilled Dark Magician. Now I'll attack, and destroy your Axe Dragonute." said Twilight after she placed her used spell card in the graveyard.
Spike let out another growl as he placed the card in the graveyard. "I'll place one card face down, and end my turn." she said, placing a card face down on the field. Spike drew a card, and laughed. "What's so funny?" she asked.
"Oh, just this!" he said, flipping the card over so she could see. Twilight paled. It wasn't Kaibaman, but it was almost as bad. It was Red Eyes Black Chick.
"What's so bad about that?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"Oh, I'll show you." Spike said, "I play Red Eyes Black Chick." He set down the card on the field. "And now I sacrifice Red Eyes Black Chick to special summon Red Eyes Black Dragon!" he said, placing the card in the graveyard, then placing down an even fiercer looking card. On the front was a black dragon. "Now I'll attack!" he said.
"Not so fast." Twilight told him, flipping her card over, "I play Magic Cylinder, so you take the damage, leaving you with 5600 life points." She still looked pale though. She didn't have any cards that could help her.
"That was awesome!" said Dash.
"I end my turn." grumbled Spike.
This is bad. Thought Twilight. If I don't draw something good right now I might loose. Twilight used her magic to slowly levitate the card to her hand, unable to look. When she opened her eyes she saw exactly what she needed. "I'll play Swords of Revealing Light!" said Twilight, placing down the card, "Since I used a magic card my Skilled Dark Magician gains another counter. I end my turn."
Spike drew another card from his deck, and looked at his hand. "I'll remove from play my Red Eyes Black Dragon to special summon my Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon." said Spike, setting his card to the side, and putting a new monster on the field. "That's all I can do. Your turn." he told her.
Twilight drew a card from her deck, and saw that it was the Apprentice Magician. "I'll summon the Apprentice Magician in attack mode." said Twilight, placing the card down. Spike scoffed.
"What's that going to do?" he asked.
"Watch. I activate Apprentice Magician's effect, and place one counter on Skilled Dark Magician, making three. Now I activate Skilled Dark Magician's effect, and send it to the graveyard to special summon Dark Magician." she said, sending her card to the graveyard, and playing another card. Spike scoffed again.
"That's still too weak to beat my monster." he said. Twilight let out a sigh. She knew he was right, and if she didn't come up with something fast then she would almost certainly loose.
"I end my turn." she said. With that Spike drew another card, and added it to his hand. He smirked as a strategy came to mind.
"First I'll place a card face down." he said, placing one card face down. "And then next I'll activate my Lightpulsar Dragon's effect. By removing from play my White Stone of Legend, and my Axe Dragonute I can special summon it to the field. I end my turn." he said, moving the two monsters to the side, and placing the monster on the field.
Twilight drew a card. Premature Burial. With this she could at least get rid of his Lightpulsar Dragon. "First I'll attack Lightpulsar Dragon with my Dark Magician, destroying both of them since they have the same attack." she said, sending her card to the graveyard as Spike did the same. What she didn't know was that she was falling into his trap.
"Now I'll use Premature Burial to bring back my Dark Magician by giving up 800 life points, leaving me with 7100." she said, placing the card on the field, and putting back Dark Magician to it's original position. "I'll change my Apprentice Magician to defense position, and I end my turn." she told him.
Spike drew, and smirked. He got Lord of D., a dark monster. "I end my turn." he told her, "And I believe that makes three turns so your Swords of Revealing Light is destroyed." Twilight gritted her teeth, and put her spell card in the graveyard. If she didn't draw something good this turn then Spike would attack, and destroy her monsters, leaving her vulnerable to a direct attack.
She let out a silent prayer, and drew a card. It was then that she smiled. "I equip my Dark Magician with my Mage Power, giving it a power boost of 500. Enough to destroy your Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon. Now I'll attack leaving you with 5400 life points." she said.
Spike grudgingly put his Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon into the graveyard. This wasn't going the way he planned. She'd somehow turned the duel around. "I'll end my turn." she said, since she could do no more. Spike drew a card, then let out a wide grin. He could still win yet. "Hey Twilight. Guess what." he said in a voice that made Twilight worried.
"What?" she asked. He turned the card around, and Twilight gasped. It was Kaibaman.
"First I'll summon Kaibaman, and use his special ability to sacrifice him, and special summon my Blue Eyes White Dragon." he said, sending his card to the graveyard, and then playing the dragon. "Next I'll use my trap, Call of the Haunted to bring back my Red Eyes Black Dragon." he said, flipping his trap over, and playing the card from his graveyard.
"Finally I'll use Lightpulsar Dragon's special effect to send my Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter and my Lord of D. to the graveyard to special summon my Lightpulsar Dragon back to the field." Spike said, removing two cards from his hand, and setting them in the graveyard, leaving him with one, and placed Lightpulsar Dragon onto the field.
Twilight's jaw was gaping as Spike summoned three powerful monsters to his side of the field. "Now I'll attack your Dark Magician with my Blue Eyes White Dragon, destroying both of our monsters." he said, putting his card into the graveyard. Twilight did the same.
"And now I'll destroy your Apprentice Magician with my Red Eyes Black Dragon" he said. Twilight couldn't believe it. Spike turned it around on her, and now she was defenseless.
"Now I'll attack you with my Lightpulsar Dragon, leaving you with 4600 life points." Spike said smugly, "Your turn." Twilight drew her card. Royal Magical Library. She let out a sigh, knowing there was nothing she could do. Even if she did put it in defense mode either one of his monsters could destroy it, and he could finish her off next turn.
"I-I end my turn." she said, defeated, making Spike's grin grow wider.
"Now I'll finish you off with my Red Eyes Black Dragon, and Lightpulsar Dragon leaving you with zero life points. I win!" he said, jumping in the air happily.
"So that's how you play the game." said Twilight, turning to her friends to see their jaws open. They'd been unusually quiet during the game, even Fluttershy.
"That," said Rainbow, "WAS AWESOME!"
"Yes, that was quite riveting." agreed Rarity.
"I-I really liked it." squeaked Fluttershy.
"That looked so fun! I want to play!" said Pinkie.
"Ah wouldn't mind giving it a shot myself." agreed Applejack.
"Well if you girls want I can bring you to the card shop, and help you make a deck." Twilight said.
"Hay yeah!" agreed Rainbow Dash.
"Well then let's go!" said Spike, walking out the door, everyone following behind.
--
A set of eyes, one red, and one gold, were peering out of the darkness at the six ponies, and one dragon. The creature let out a chuckle. "I'm going to have fun with this." said a voice, "So much fun."

A/N: Hey guys! Did you like it? It took a while to think up the duel. If any of you know a battle maker or something like it that I can recreate this battle on, then I can put it up.
