Equestria: Fusion
So... I'm in the fusion suit. HUH?!
Load Full Story"Wakey, wakey, sleepy head…" A voice that sounded kinda artificial stirred a young boy awake. This boy couldn't be identified from what he was wearing. He was surprisingly wearing the iconic fusion suit. The Fusion Suit has small Blades on Samus's free arm reminiscent of Metroid "teeth" or the hooks on the arms of the Chozo; it also has three small purple spheres on the back that are similar to a Metroid's internal nuclei. The helmet gains a Metroid-like appearance, with the sides looking like a standard Metroid's outer talons (or inner talons, if one considers their arrangement). The visor is also altered, possessing a point in the top-center area, possibly, mimicking the three nuclei inside a Metroid. Less sturdy and possessing weaker shielding than the Power Suit, the Fusion Suit takes heavier damage from enemy attacks and is initially unable to protect him from extreme cold, to which the Metroid vaccine has left him vulnerable.
He then looks around surprisingly calm and collected. Maybe he knew what was going on, or it's just his now superhuman concentration. He then looks at his hands… well hand and an arm cannon. He was… still calm?!

He then gets up only for the voice from earlier speak again.
"Marcus, we got trouble. It turns out that the X-parasites got to this planet. Fortunately, it turns out the inhabitants are somehow immune to the X unless they are killed." Marcus' helmet disappeared.
"What?!" He shouted "Wait what?! Why am I in a fusion suit? And where am I?!" Marcus shouts as the computer went silent for a moment.
"...for that I cannot explain how you got here, but you have been granted the fusion suit. But your survival rate is at 10% and you still have an extreme vulnerability to the cold. I'm sending some missile data to that charger over there. Download it now and your survival rate will increase by 20%." Marcus's just sighed. He wanted to scream, flip his shit, but somehow he had a better grip on his emotions. He went over and the charger latched onto his arm cannon.
Missile data downloaded.
You can now use missiles.
"I'm reading two healthy bio-signs outside of the ship. Investigate and make sure they are not a threat."
"Goodbye normal life, hello messed up life." He was then lowers down to meet face to muzzle with Flurry Heart and Mi Amore Candace. He stepped back. He felt a little fear in his heart.
"What are you two?" He said as his arm cannon changes shape.
"We are Alicorns." The younger one says as he looks at her. She was his age and he decided to trust her.
"...Kay, well I'm a human with two species DNA." They both stared in confusion as he then saw a X-parasite near Cadence as he runs at the blob and grabs it. He absorbs it. He then looked seriously at the both of them.
"How much more of them?" He said coldly as he heard yelling behind him. He jumped high up and tapped the unknown assailant on the head. He crashed as both Alicorns yelled.
"DAD!/SHINING!" He looked at the unicorn on the ground as he just stretched. He walked over to his assaulter.
"Dude, why did you attack me? I'm only here to help…" he said as Shining Armor got up and pointed the spear at his chest. If Marcus had the normal powersuit, he would laugh on how that little spear would do no damages to him. But in his new suit, he wasn't taking any chances.
"Help with what huh?!" He jabbed the spear at him, making a light tink sound "Take over with the changelings huh?!" An X-parasite floated beside him and rammed itself onto his body, trying to infect Shining Armor. But it annoys him and Marcus points at the X.
"That. That is what I was sent here to exterminate them all." He grabs the X-parasite and absorbs it, shocking Shining in the process "Have you've seen a human before?" He said as Shining tilts his head in confusion.
"My sis said she was turned into one… wait… are you one?!" He nods as he morphed his helmet off, showing his face. Flurry giggled.
"You look funny!" He smiled.
"How about we act like normal people and talk about this inside?" They nod as Marcus followed…
BOOOM!!!
A explosion came from nearby as someone, no, something started to walked with cold, lifeless steps as he stops and turns around at you. Yes you the reader with blank, soulless eyes.
They then turned back and shot a missile at a door and walked through with soulless eyes. No regard for emotions.
Marcus sat down in silence as all eyes were on him because of his knowledge. Before he came here, he played Metroid Fusion and read the Metroid manga back home. He now has vast knowledge of the X at only fifteen years old. He gulped.
"You guys are probably gonna ask how I know about the X-parasites." Cadence tilted her head.
"X-parasites? Is that what these tiny blobs are?" He looks away.
"Ahem, well they're very dangerous if left unchecked." Shining Armor raised an eyebrow.
"How so? All they do is just ram themselves onto our bodies." He said as Marcus gulps.
"The X Parasites constantly hunt for sustenance. When a prey is located, they infect the organism's nervous system where they start reproducing at an exponential rate, resulting in the death of the host creature. It is during this process that the X absorb the DNA of their victims and copy their memories, allowing the parasites to imitate their prey's forms, behaviors and use their newfound knowledge to further their own species' existence. You guys have somehow built an immunity while us humans do not. But you are vulnerable to the X if you are dead." They gulped. Even Shining Armor, rare to show any fear is nervous and afraid but that begs the question: he said humans aren't immune and yet he was able to absorb the parasite with no problem.
"How are you immune to the X?" Flurry said as Marcus smiled. Time to go full on gamer geek and quote the log from fusion.
I'd been assigned to watch over Biologic's research team, so I once again found myself on the surface of SR388.
It was there that I was attacked by a life-form I had never encountered before.
It was only later that I learned the identity of my attacker: the parasitic organism we now know as X. Unaware of my condition, I was returning to the station when disaster struck.
Once the X had infested my central nervous system, I lost consciousness and my ship drifted into an asteroid belt.
The ship's emergency systems automatically ejected the escape pod before impact. Biologic's vessel recovered it and transported me to Galactic Federation HQ.
However, during the journey, the X multiplied within me, corrupting large areas of my Power Suit.
It then came to light that the organic components of my Power Suit had become so integrated with my system that it could not be removed while I was unconscious. Large portions of my suit had to be surgically removed, dramatically altering my physical appearance. However, the X in my central nervous system were too embedded to be removed safely. I was given a minimal chance of survival.
Then, someone found a cure.
They proposed using a Metroid cell to make an anti-X vaccine. It seems that the Federation had managed to preserve a cell culture from the last infant Metroid from SR388. The serum was prepared and injected without delay.
The X parasites were immediately and completely destroyed.
As for me, one life ended... yet I survived, reborn as something different.
Pondering this fact, I realize... I owe the Metroid hatchling my life twice over. And that led to the existence of the suit I have on now."
