Solo Reincarnation

Pain. The only thing I could feel as I regained consciousness was a searing pain all over my body, a sharp pain in my leg drove me to tears and my chest felt tighter and tighter with each breath I took. 'I can't do this...everything hurts so much why can't I just die.' My body seemed to agree as the pain subsided and darkness began to take me, I laid there accepting that I was going to die here. 'Hopefully mom and dad are ok... I'm ok with this I never stood a chance any-. A loud boom snapped me from my thoughts as I opened my eyes, what greeted me was a gush of wind strong enough to push all the ash and fragments of debris off of me, then a beautiful wave of a rainbow sailed past me before settling in a direction almost as if it was pointing where I need to go.

"YOU CAN'T GIVE UP ONYX!" I heard a group of voices I didn't recognize call out to me but when I looked around I was alone. I looked back up at the rainbow and felt a well of strength rise inside of me. I groaned as I finally stood up seeing what the pain in my leg was, a piece of rebar had stabbed through my hind leg.

I stared at the warning message with contempt as I spat on the ground I felt my anger rising as I reflected on all this bullshit. ...Fuck this as if I let some stupid dragon or a stupid system from a god that's fucking with me kill me just so when I die I could be back in his void with him taunting me...or worse I have to go through this shit all over again! A low growl escaped my muzzle as I push past the pain and started limping towards the rainbow, each painful step only fueled my anger.

"I can't believe this what kind of dumb luck do I have to somehow survive this shit but be so far from any help that I'm going to die out here on my o-" Before I could finish my sentence I heard the sound of wings flapping overhead, I looked up to see a golden carriage flying past me with what looked like other ponies leaving the area. "-WAIT WAIT WAit don't bucking leave me are you kidding me just turn around please!' I rasped waving my arms hoping someone would notice me but they just kept flying away much to my dismay. I stared off in the distance as they left pissed knowing that they just left me behind, I looked back at the piece of rebar stuck in my leg and grabbed it with my teeth yanking it out in a fit of rage. I screamed out in pain trudging forward slowly dragging my leg behind me, I didn't know where I was going but I knew I couldn't be here anymore.

"F...fuck this bullshit as if I'm going to die here, I'm going to kill that piece of shit god...but first I'm going to kill that motherfucking dragon and avenge my home and if that piece of shit killed my family...." My words trailed off when I mentioned my family, as I limped my anger subsided with each step sadness replacing it in its stead thoughts of my pony family flooded in my head my pony family were amazing they loved me with all their hearts and now their most likely dead, I didn't even get to truly cherish them before a dragon came in taking it all away from me. Memories of my pony mother and father rushing to my aid if I got hurt, or taking time out of their day to make sure I'm happy. It was the little things they did that mattered to me because not even my human family would do those little things. 'Of course I became a neet no one cared about me anyways so I would've been better off hiding away gaming to my hearts content.'

Are you Kidding me!! Goddamn it there's no one around I cant die out here like this! I trudged forward getting outside of the city limits and heading as far east to the rainbow as I could go, I felt my lungs burns and each step felt heavier than the last until eventually I dropped to the ground, my legs refused to move, my body didn't listen to me and then eventually I could barely keep my eyes open as I saw what looked like a figure walking towards me, "Please...help....me." I rasped out before everything went dark.

"When do you think he's going to wake up?" A loud voice pulled me from my dreams followed by a series of shushing. I kept my eyes closed and continued to listen to what sounded like girls my age "attempting" to whisper around me.

"Your being too loud papa says he needs to rest." A gruff voice snapped at the loud voice, a much quieter voice agreed wordlessly. As the group of girls continued to discuss about me I eventually realized that all the pain in my body has dimmed down to a numb feeling. As I thought over to what they did to fix me a gentle older mares voice caught my attention.

"Girls alloweth the boy to rest the boy hath been through enough." I heard several hoof steps retreating and I sighed in relief. "Better now boy?" I jumped in surprise and finally opened my eyes to be greeted by kind blue eyes looking down at me. "Fret not boy we shan't bring you any harm." The mare immediately reassured me pulling the blanket off me revealing my hind leg and my torso wrapped up in bandages.

"W...where am I?" I coughed out hoarsely finally looking around finding myself in a basic bedroom but the décor looked set a decade behind. My eyes landed on the mare who seemed to be currently focused on changing my bandages and replacing them. I finally got a better look at her overall seeing she had a light grey fur with a dull green mane tied up into bun, she had a small blouse collar with a pendant in the middle and small glasses on the bridge of her nose.

"Thy is in our home, Mine own nameth is Cloudy Quartz, what is thy's?" The mare finished wrapping my bandages and looked up at me patiently waiting for a response.

"My name is onyx ma'am.... thank you for saving me." I smiled at her gratefully before trying to pull myself off the bed, immediately I felt a hoof touch my chest pushing me back into bed.

"Now now child you mustn't push yourself your injuries are far too severe." Cloudy looked a little panicked as she kept me in the bed. mental note she dropped the heavy old English for modern but kept the accent. "and if you wish to thank anyone thank my husband he found you on a voyage to Las Pegasus, had he had shown up a day later who knows what would've happened to you. " I nodded quietly noticing my HUD silently blipping several messages, before I could make a plan to get some alone time I saw four girls my age walk into the room carrying food and drinks.

"Mama papa said to bring some food in for the...oh he's awake!" A pink pony with a frizzy pink mane spoke a mile a minute upon noticing me awake, immediately I noticed that she rapidly kept switching topics ranging from my wounds, too her family. I think at one point she tried introducing herself and her sisters but I couldn't keep up with her even if I tried. Eventually before she could keep going a light grey pony with a purple mane put her hoof to the pink ones lips shushing her.

"Thank you Maud now Pinkamena Diane Pie, is that how you greet a guest." The Pink one apparently named Pinkamena immediately apologized and took a deep breath.

"Sorry well as mama said my name is Pinkamena Diane Pie, this is my big sister Maud Pie, my bigger sister Limestone Pie and my baby sister Marble Pie you said your name is onyx rightI'llbebackIhavetogetasurprisereadynowforonemoreguest! " Just like a hurricane she was gone before I could assess what just happened, I looked at the rest of her siblings for an answer and was given nonchalance in return.

"Right well it seems I may have to monitor my daughter to see what she's planning so here eat up and rest child I shall return in the morning to check your bandages." She took the plate of food leaving it on a dresser next to me before ushering the other girls much to their disappointment.

"Thank you ma'am." I rasped out as she closed the door behind her. I took a small sigh recalling everything that happened before finally opening the menu checking all the messages from the system

I felt frustrated looking at the "achievements" and even more so at the quests in front of me i felt like the screen was taunting me telling I was too weak but I pushed my feelings aside opening up the skills menu.

I laid my head back against my pillow beyond exhausted and sad, I took note that the system confirmed that I lost at least one of my parents but I refused to dwell on which parent I lost as I closed my eyes getting some more rest.

I found myself back in las pegasus at my fathers barracks, it felt like an out of body experience as I watched the shadow Dragonlord firing its blast in the center of the city as the force of the blast reached me time slowed down as my physical body flew back. I turned to look at the Dragonlord trying to remember every detail only to see a hooded figure flying out of the flames and clashing with the giant Dragon before flying at highspeed away, the dragon recoiled from the blow falling back before roaring and flying after its assailant. I felt a presence behind me and turned around to see my father knelt over my physical body, I noticed him whispering into my bodies ear and stepped closer to hear what he was saying.

" -sorry my son I have failed at protecting you and your mother but I won't make the same mistake twice-" My dad nuzzled my head talking to me not looking for a reply before snapping at attention at the sound of the dragon roaring in the distance. "-Ok kid I'll be back for you in a flash but until then this should protect you till I come back." My dad's horn spark with a small rose gold aura that enveloped my physical body, immediately my dad ran off towards the direction of where the dragon was last heard with a determined look on his face. I tried reaching out to him but felt the ground beneath me give way as I was pulled into an inky black void.

I snapped awake drenched in sweat in the dead of night, for a moment I forgot where I was and expected to see my mom and dad doting over me easing my fears but instead I found myself alone. My throat got tight as tears began to well up in my eyes, I quickly got out of my bed limping out of the bedroom and house looking for somewhere secluded. Eventually I found myself in a small clearing a good distance away from the nice family and I crumpled to the floor wiping away my tears taking deep breaths, I felt my frustration burn like a fire in my chest as I let out a primal scream of anger up at the sky. My emotions felt all over the place, my mind knew that they weren't my human family but they still loved me more than my human family ever could and now I couldn't even have them for a little longer to watch me grow up and tell me how proud they were. Eventually I took a deep shaky breath before wiping my tears away and stood up to head back to the nice family's home, I turned around to see the Pinkamena watching me quietly noticeably her hair looked a lot less poofy as she trotted over to me before pulling me in a tight embrace

"I'm sorry about what you've been through it might not be much but mama and papa would never turn their back on a lost foal so you can live with us if you want..." I felt her hug around get very tight almost like she was trying to hug my sadness away. "I finished my surprise by the way if you'd like to see it now?" She looked at me with a pleading looking in her eyes as I sigh and nod in agreeance.

I stared at the notice message in front of me confused for a moment before I shrugged it off accepting the gift. I slyly opened the menu walking in tandem with pinkie heading back to her home.

I smiled softly to myself thanking dad for this gift and looked ahead seeing Pinkamena bouncing with every step her home visible in the distance, the sun started to rise and I saw Pinkamena sisters and parents already outside working on a bunch of rocks diligently they noticed me and smiled waving me over, I headed over to them apologizing for running off but they dismissed giving me an understanding look.

"Ohhhhh its time for the surprise hurry hurry so you can see it!" Pinkamena was practically dragging me inside, she had wrapped a blindfold around my eyes as I heard shuffling around me.

"Pinkamena what's this all about now we gots to get back to work on the farm." Pinkamena's father spoke with a dull yet harsh tone, Pinkamena didn't really register her fathers words as she quickly shuffled around the room.

"Alright ready 3..2..1 andddd take off your blindfolds-" as I removed my blindfold I looked around to see pinkie had set up a large party with cake, streamers and balloons and everything. I looked around kind of impressed how well she set everything up in such short notice. "-I call it a party do you like it?" She looked at us smiling giving a hopeful look and I smiled giving her an enthusiastic smile but I saw her smile waver as she looked at her family, I turned to look at them and saw their faces giving a mixture of discomfort and surprise before a big smile appeared on their face.

"Oh Pinkamena darling this...party is amazing come now children lets enjoy ourselves Pinkamena sweetheart why don't you show us what we do at a....party." Cloudy gave a slow emphasis on the word party like she didn't understand the word but rolled with it, everyone piled into the shed interacting with different things that Pinkamena set up. I walked around looking at different things before noticing Pinkamena begin to glow a faint pink glow as a cutie mark of three multicolored balloons appeared on her flank, Pinkamena began jumping around for joy before she pulled her sisters in a big hug.

"Child come over here for a moment." I looked over to see Pinkamena's father beckoning me over I followed him quietly not wanting to disrupt Pinkamena's party, he led me outside to a field of rocks. "As you may have noticed this is our rock farm and while you may be be to injured to work I do believe that a little bit of work can help build some muscle on you get you up in running and when your ready we can talk about what you want to do how's that sound?"
