A typical Thursday for me. Soarin. The famous wonderbolt. Always in training and being mobbed by fans. No personal time except for every other Fridays and the weekends. The pay was ridiculously good though. 80,000 bits a year. Not bad.
This Thursday morning was filled with excitement. I was no longer in my house in Clousdale. I was in Canterlot and had the whole weekend to tour the streets. I had heard that they were excavating the caves under the city. I wanted to see them.
I got up at 6:45 as usual groaning. The workout yesterday had been vicious. Still groaning I rolled out of bed and put my hooves on the floor. I walked over to the mirror laughing at my hair. It was all in a tangle.
Slowly I pulled on my uniform. Still in pain. I need something. I remember Spitfire saying that if you bang your head against a wall your aches would go away. I had tried that. It only maximized the pain. What helped was a good flight around the house.
Dismaly I looked at the tiny apartment. I laughed. It wouldn't work. A couple laps around the building would do.
I did 6 labs around the tall building untill I saw Spitfire in the courtyard.
"Soarin! Come on you'll be late. Race ya" she said.
"No thanks. Gotta stop at the bakery. Get some lunch." I said .
I landed, and finally on my way to work I stopped at the local bakery to purchase a doughnut. It was good. A chocolate filled vanilla doughnut with orange and blue sprinkles. I also ordered my lunch of a spinach sandwich with this special sauce.
After exiting the bakery I lightly jogged over to the royal gym that now served as our training session.
Our coach and Fleetfoot were waiting outside.
"Soarin. Hey. I am so exited about this weekend. A whole weekend in Canterlot. I mean it's been done before. But this weekend is all free. Cause were not going back to Clousdale till Monday. And the show is tomorrow morning. So that's Friday afternoon and Saturday. Plus Sunday! So what are you going to do this weekend." Fleetfoot said. A little too energetically.
"Oh well I don't know."
"Come on Soar. This is Canterlot. Royal city. Hey you wanna go to the royal gardens."
"Like a date?"
"What else would it be?"
"I don't know Fleet. I like you as a pal. A chum. Sorry."
"Thats okay. I like you as a chum too. Hey. Spit's waitin. Come on!"
The training was hard. Our new coach was brutal. I groaned all the way home. After that day even Fleetfoot didn't have the energy to run.
For dinner we all went out together. It was me, Spitfire, Fleetfoot, Coach, and Rapidfire.
I got a greenery salad with italian dressing. Coach made us all eat healthy.
"Only one unhealthy treat a day and since Soarin had a doughnut for breakfast along with Spitfire and then Fleetfoot and Rapidfire had nachos for lunch you all gotta eat healthy for dinner." as he often said.
We got back from dinner at eight o'clock and since I had a show in the morning I went to bed right away.
Sleep came easy.
