Chapters One day in Canterlot, the capital city of Equestria, a young unicorn filly named Twilight sparkle was trying to hatch a dragon egg as part of an entrance exam for Celestia's school of magic.
However, she was unable to until a explosion in the distance followed by a circular rainbow caused her magic to hatch the egg, releasing the baby dragon inside. It also caused her magic to go haywire, turning her parents into plants, the baby dragon into a giant, levitating the instructors, and summoning a filly with black bat-pony wings with white spots that ended with fiery colors , a brown coat, a green mane and tail with a blue stripe in both, rainbow eyes, and a snowy horn with a golden outline.
The Princess of Equestria, Princess Celestia, noticed the giant baby dragon from outside the building and went into the building in order to bring Twilight out of her magic trance. When she did, almost everything was returned to normal. Her parents, Night light and Twilight velvet, were turned back to ponies, the baby dragon was changed to his normal size, and the instructors stopped levitating. But the filly Twilight summoned remained in the room.
While Twilight was celebrating that she had gotten her cutie mark, the baby dragon crawled over to the filly and the filly took him in her hooves. Then Twilight noticed the two together and walked up to them.
"Hello" said Twilight
"H-h-hi." said the filly, now having the attention of everypony in the room. "Where am I?"
"Allow me to handle this, Twilight." Said Princess Celestia. "Greetings, young one. I am Princess Celestia, ruler of the kingdom of Equestria, which is where you are right now."
"E-equestria." said the filly. "I-I don't know where to go."
"You can come live with us, I've always wanted a sister." Said Twilight
"Are you sure?" Asked Princess Celestia.
"More than sure, Princess."
"Very well. As Princess of Equestria, I give full authority over"
"Spike and Solar flame, your majesty."
"Over Spike and Solar Flame to Twilight Sparkle and her family. Now, go celebrate."
"We will Princess. Spike, Solar, time to show you your new home." Said Twilight
Twilight, her parents, and her new siblings all walked from the castle to their home.
"Dad, could you wait outside with Spike and Solar? I want to surprise Shining with them."
"Sure Twilight."
Twilight and her mother walked inside their house just as Shining came around the corner from his room.
"Hey sis, how'd it go? Did you pass?"
"Yeah, I passed and got my cutie mark."
"Nice."
"But I also got a couple other things too. Dad, ready."
Night light walked into the house with Spike and Solar after hearing Twilight.
"Shining, this is our new brother Spike," Said Twilight, pointing to Spike, "And our new sister, Solar Flame." She said, pointing to the filly.
"Where in the world did the filly come from? The exam was to try and hatch a dragon egg."
"It's a long story."
"Tell me"
"Well, when I was trying to hatch Spike's egg, I almost couldn't do it. Then a explosion triggered my magic to go crazy, which caused, among other things, the filly to be summoned. That's the short version."
"Wow, That's crazy. She looks so cool."
"I know, and now she's our sister."
While Twilight and Shining were talking, Twilight Velvet showed Spike and Solar where their room, which was also Twilight's room.
This was just the beginning of a great adventure.
Friendship is magic part 1
Many years later, Twilight, Solar, and Spike were living one of the castle's towers. Spike was old enough to walk and talk, while Solar still had not gotten her cutie mark yet.
Spike and Solar were preparing for a party that Twilight's Canterlot friends were setting up. Spike was holding a present in his claws walking to the door with Solar right behind him when Twilight burst through the door, knocking him away.
"SPIKE. Are you okay?" yelled Solar.
"Yeah, I'm fine." he replied.
"You need to be more careful Twilight. Spike could've gotten very hurt."
"Solar, do you know where the book on Predictions and Prophesies is?" Asked Twilight, clearly ignoring what she said.
"No, I don't." Replied Solar, annoyed.
"It's over here." Said Spike, before getting pulled off the ladder and crashing on the floor.
"Seriously, Twilight. That's the second time you could've hurt Spike since you came back."
"Spike, send a letter to the Princess." Said Twilight, ignoring Solar's complaint again.
Twilight got the message sent and was expecting Princess Celestia to respond with a way to prevent Nightmare Moon's return directly. However, she got a command to go to Ponyville to oversee preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration and to make some friends. But Twilight ignored Princess Celestia's order to make friends, believing that the fate of Equestria did not require that.
"Twilight, if Princess Celestia wants you to make friends, you should do it."
"Ugh, Solar, I already said that the fate of Equestria does not rest on me making friends. So just drop it."
Soon they arrived in Ponyville just as a pink earth pony was walking towards them.
"Hi." Said Solar.
Suddenly, the pink pony rushed off somewhere, leaving the three of them standing there.
The first thing on the list was to taste the food at Sweet Apple Acres. When they got there, they heard the sound of a farm pony. They looked to the right and saw a orange pony running towards a apple tree before turning around and bucking the tree.
"Hello." Said Solar, " My name is Solar Flame, and this is my older sister Twilight and my younger brother Spike. We're here to check on the food, it sure smells good."
"Well, howdy. My names Applejack." Said Applejack. "I'm sure that it will taste better than it smells. Wanna try some."
"Sure." Said Solar
Applejack gathered all of her family visiting from all across Equestria together for them to taste the food. After they were done, they were about to leave when Applejack's younger sister Apple bloom asked if they would stay for brunch.
"Well, we have a lot of thi--"
"Of course we will." Said Solar, cutting Twilight off. The entire Apple family cheered while Twilight groaned.
A few minutes later, Twilight, Solar, and Spike left the farm to check the other things on the list. Twilight was stuffed, while Solar was fine, despite eating twice as much food as her.
The next thing they had to check was the weather, which was run by a pegasus named Rainbow Dash. Twilight looked up at the sky, which had clouds in it, before mentioning how bad of a job she was doing.
Suddenly, Solar felt a weird feeling telling her to duck. She did right when a blue pegasus with a rainbow mane crashed into Twilight, sending her into a mud puddle.
"Hey, work on your flying." Yelled Solar.
"Sorry." Replied the pegasus. "Anyway, I'm Rainbow Dash. Heard of me?"
"I heard that you're supposed to be clearing the sky for the Summer Sun Celebration." Said Twilight
"Ignore her, I'm Solar Flame, this is Twilight and Spike. We're just checking on a few things for the Summer Sun Celebration. We just came from checking the food, now we're checking the weather, but so far it's not done.
"Yeah, I know. I'll do it after I rest for a few minutes. I've been training to join the Wonderbolts, but the training drained me almost completely."
"Alright. Come on Twilight, we've got more things to do."
"Just give me a second." Replied Twilight, shaking the mud out of her mane.
"Hey, wait a second." Said Rainbow Dash, noticing how Solar had no cutie mark. "How come you don't have a cutie mark, everypony has a cutie mark when they're your age."
"I don't know what my special talent is yet." Replied Solar, still walking away.
The next thing on their list was decorations. The three arrived at the Ponyville Town Center, finding a white unicorn mare with a purple mane decorating the building.
"Excuse me." Said Solar
"Just one second." Replied the unicorn.
"Take your time."
"So, what have you come for."
"First, my name is Solar Flame, this is my sister Twilight, and my younger brother Spike. We're just checking on the decorations."
"I'm Rarity, and -- Oh, my, you look amazing darling. The space themed bat wings ending in the fiery colors, the blue and green mane and tail, the white unicorn horn with the gold swirl, the rainbow eyes, the unusually empty flank. Wait, why don't you have a cutie mark yet."
"I don't know what my special talent is yet. Anyway, we have one more thing we have to do before the celebration. See you there Rarity."
"Last thing on the list is music." Said Spike
They suddenly heard the sounds of several birds. They looked and saw another pegasus with a pale yellow coat and a light pink mane in front of a tree with many birds on the branches.
"Hello" Said Twilight, startling the pegasus and her birds. "We're here to check on the music."
No response came.
"Let me handle this Twilight." Said Solar, coming out of the bush. "I'm Solar Flame, this is Twilight and Spike. What's your name?"
"I'm Fluttershy"
"Fluttershy, that's a nice name."
"How did you know that was what she said, she was so quiet." Said Twilight
"I somehow adjusted the sensitivity of my ears." Replied Solar.
"Your birds are back Fluttershy. We'll just be leaving."
Fluttershy looked over at them just as Spike came out of the bush. She got super excited and rushed over to meet him.
Fluttershy ended up following them to the Ponyville Golden Oaks Library, listening to Spike tell her about his life. Right when Spike ended the story, they arrived at the library.
"Well, we're here. See you at the Summer Sun Celebration, Fluttershy."
The three walked into the library and found that the lights were off.
"Um, what's going on?" Asked Solar, just as the lights turned on, revealing a bunch of ponies.
"SURPRISE!!" They all yelled.
Then the pink pony they saw when they first came into Ponyville appeared.
"Hi, I'm Pinkie pie. I threw this party for you three."
"Well, I am surprised." Said Solar, not noticing that Twilight left the room.
Solar played many games with the other ponies until it was time for the celebration.
Twilight, Solar, and Spike walked over to the Town Hall, only to have the celebration interrupted by Nightmare Moon. She had kidnapped Princess Celestia and was planning to bring eternal night on the world.
Friendship is magic part 2
When Twilight, Solar, and Spike get back to the library, Solar puts Spike to bed while Twilight searches the library for a book about the Elements of harmony before Rainbow and the others come in.
Twilight explained to them about her real goal while in Ponyville and that she knew a way to stop Nightmare Moon. She also said that she needed the elements of harmony to do that, but could not find a book for it. Suddenly, Pinkie is heard reading the title of a book on the Elements, surprising Twilight.
Twilight began to read the book. "There are 7 elements of harmony, but only 6 are known. These are generosity, loyalty, laughter, kindness, honesty, and trust. When a spark is produced, the 7th element will appear. The last known location of the elements is in what is now-"
"The Everfree forest."
Twilight wished to go in with just her and Solar, but the others(Solar included) refuse. Solar states "Twilight, I think that you should just trust these girls like I do. Besides, there may be something in this forest that we can't do alone."
Twilight, though irritated, accepts the help of the other five.
After walking through the forest for a while, the ponies came to a large cliff. Suddenly, the ground broke up. Rainbow Dash picked up Pinkie and Fluttershy bit onto Rarity's tail.
Applejack and Twilight were still sliding towards the edge, with Solar overhead. Applejack reached Twilight, who was already at the edge, and grabbed her hooves to keep her up.
Applejack looked above Twilight before telling Twilight to let go. Twilight was unsure if she should when Solar appeared behind her carrying Rarity to the ground.
"Twilight, trust Applejack. She knows what she's doing." Said Solar.
Twilight looked at Solar and nodded, closed her eyes, and let go. While she was falling, she was grabbed by Rainbow and Fluttershy, with Applejack jumping on the rocks sticking out of the cliff to get to the bottom. Soon, everypony reached the ground safely.
As they were walking, they heard a roar. In front of them was a angry manticore. Everypony except for Solar and Fluttershy were trying to attack the manticore. Then Solar got in front of them
"Stop." She yelled, "I think we should let Fluttershy handle this, she is good with animals, after all."
"Thank you Solar." Said Fluttershy, walking up to the manticore.
The manticore was about to attack her, but she calmed it down. It opened it's paw to show a large thorn stuck inside.
Fluttershy pulled the thorn out, making the manticore roar in pain. Then it started to lick Fluttershy before running into the forest.
"Told you." Said Solar to the other 5 ponies.
They kept walking for a while. Soon the trees blocked out the light, making it super dark.
The trees started glowing, with menacing faces on them. Everypony was terrified, except for Pinkie and Solar. Pinkie was laughing and making silly faces at the trees, and Solar saw her and trusted that she had a good reason for her weird behavior. Then Pinkie started to sing, which somehow made the faces on the trees disappear. She was quickly joined by the other ponies. When all the faces had disappeared, the 7 ponies laid on their backs laughing before continuing walking towards the castle.
Later, the ponies came to a river, which was super dangerous to cross because a sea serpent was causing the water to be wavy. He was upset because half of his mustache was sliced off. The ponies complained that the serpent, who had the name Steven Magnet, was being too dramatic. But Rarity agreed with his complaints and pulled one of the scales off of Steven and used it to cut her tail to replace Steven's mustache, everypony except Solar questioned Rarity's actions. Solar, however, trusted that Rarity knew what she was doing. Steven was thankful that his mustache was restored and used his body for a bridge for the ponies to cross the river.
They quickly got to the bridge that would help them cross the chasm and arrive at the castle. Rainbow flew over to the other side in order to fix the bridge. The group had slight thoughts that she would abandon them, but Solar trusted her to fix the bridge.
On the other side, three figures, which Solar instantly detected as bad guys, were talking with Rainbow. One of them blocked their view with mist so that they wouldn't interfere. The others grew nervous, but Solar still didn't.
One minute later, Rainbow flies through the mist, revealing the now fixed bridge. The ponies walked across the bridge and up the stairs to the castle. Inside, Rainbow, Fluttershy, and Solar lifted six circular stones off of a large stone object in the middle of the room. Then everypony left the room so that Twilight could try to summon the 7th element.
Solar suddenly felt a burst of magic from inside the castle. She warned the others and they ran towards one of the castle towers. When they were standing next to Twilight, the pieces of the elements, which Nightmare Moon broke, began circling around them. Then a glow appeared above Twilight as the element of magic was summoned.
The pieces created special necklaces, or crowns, around the group of ponies. Pinkie, Rarity, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rainbow got necklaces, while Twilight and Solar got crowns. Then a flash appeared on Solar's flank, her cutie mark, a galaxy surrounding a rainbow infinite symbol that had a hourglass in one side and a magic bubble in the other, had appeared. It also became part of her crown.
The ponies shot a rainbow beam at Nightmare Moon, and it circled around her like a tornado. Seconds later, the ponies got up off the floor. They all viewed their necklaces/crowns. Then Solar looked down at her flank and saw her brand new cutie mark. She suddenly felt like she could control the entire universe all at once.
"Indeed you do" said Princess Celestia. The sun began to rise, releasing Celestia. She congratulated the ponies for their victory, and Solar for finally obtaining her cutie mark. Celestia walked over to the blue alicorn that had just woken up. The alicorn was Princess Luna, Celestia's sister. All the other ponies were surprised that Luna was Celestia's sister.
Princess Luna apologized to Celestia for her jealousy and for trying to bring eternal night, and Celestia forgave her. The ponies walked back to Ponyville for Pinkie's celebration party. Celestia noticed Twilight and thought that she was finally ready to go back to Canterlot. But Twilight said that she finally understood friendship and had friends. Celestia then allowed Twilight and Solar to stay in Ponyville with Spike, as long as she sent her daily messages about what she learned about friendship.
Twilight thanked the Princess and her new friends and Solar gathered around her for a picture. Just before the picture was taken, Solar exclaimed "Wait, don't take the picture yet. SPIKE, come over here."
Spike came over and was gotten into the picture with Twilight, Solar, and their friends. Then Celestia and Luna had to leave to go back to Canterlot. Twilight and Spike left to go back to the library, but Solar thought that there wouldn't be enough room for all three of them. So she looked around Ponyville for a house for sale.
She eventually found one and used her bits to buy it. It was a two story house with two bathrooms, three bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room, and living room. Solar teleported her possessions from Canterlot and used them to make her new home more cozy.
By the time Solar was done, it was very late. So she brushed her teeth and went to bed.
1 year after Luna's reformation, Solar was relaxing inside her house reading. She heard the sound of rain on her window and looked outside. Right away, she noticed that the rain was brown. Solar went outside and accidentally got some of the rain in her mouth, but it tasted like chocolate milk.
She spotted Twilight and Spike heading over to Sweet Apple Acres and followed them. When she got there, she noticed even more strange things. Bunnies with unusually long legs, oversized apples, and the corn field which was full of popcorn.
"Hey, Twilight." Said Solar
"Hi Solar." Replied Twilight
"Do you know what's going on?"
"No, unfortunately. I tried fixing this with one of my spells, but it didn't work."
"Let me try." Said Solar. She lit up her horn and released a intense wave of magic and fired it, returning everything back to normal.
Then Spike burped a letter saying that they were needed in Canterlot immediately. Solar teleported them all into the throne room where Celestia was pacing. She told them who was causing the strange things, that his name was Discord, and that they would need to use the elements of harmony to defeat him.
But when Celestia opened the chest that the elements were supposed to be in, they weren't there. Then Discord appeared in the window, literally.
Discord somehow knew about each of the wielders of the elements, but he didn't know about Solar's powers. Celestia demanded that Discord reveal the location of the elements, which he did, but in riddle form.
Twilight thought that the elements were hidden in the castle labyrinth, so the 7 ponies all went down to it. Discord then appeared and challenged them to a game. If even one of them failed, they would all lose.
The ponies all agreed to go into the maze together, but were separated, forcing them to go different paths. Solar's path took her to a large tree with a mirror inside it. The mirror displayed Discord's face and he tried to convince Solar that her friends weren't trustable, but Solar used her magic to disable Discord's connection to the mirror.
"How did you do that?" Asked Discord, "Nocreature should be able to disable the magic of a draconequus."
"You think that you're the most powerful being on Equus with your chaos magic. Please, magic is just one of the many things that I can control. Doesn't matter what it is, where it came from, how old it is, what it's used for, or who possesses it. I control everything that exists in the universe. I am Solar Flame, Goddess of the universe."
Discord was growing nervous around Solar, especially after being told that she could destroy him in an instant.
"Now, take me to the others, and if I find that you did something to them, then you better turn them back to their normal selves or else."
"No, I won't. If you want them back to their normal selves, you'll have to find a way yourself."
Discord snapped his fingers, sending Solar to her friends. But Rainbow wasn't there and Pinkie, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Applejack were faded. Then the entire maze suddenly disappeared into the ground, leaving the 6 ponies and Discord standing there.
Discord revealed that the elements were never in the labyrinth in the first place, leaving Twilight and Solar confused as he teleported away.
"Wait, I understand his riddle now."
"What is the answer? Where are the elements?"
"Twilight, where did you come to Sweet Apple Acres from this morning?"
"The library, of course."
"Come on, let's go defeat Discord."
As they were walking back to the library, things were getting stranger and stranger. Now the buildings were floating, the day and night cycle was sped up, the dirt roads were replaced with soap, and the ground was checkered. Luckily, Solar used her power to turn the roads back to dirt.
When they got back to the library, Twilight found the book with the elements while Solar kept the others away from her. They went back outside and tried to use the elements, but since the some of them were faded, they failed. All of the ponies left, including a now gray Twilight, left Solar alone. Solar felt like she couldn't trust them anymore and also turned gray.
When she walked back to her house, she felt depressed. She thought about how her friends broke her trust.
Suddenly, she heard a whisper. "Solar"
Startled, Solar looked around the room for the source of the whisper.
"You will not be able to find me like that."
"Who are you?"
"I am your soul, the origin of your powers. I have a message to give to you. Out of the 7 elements that you and your friends represent, trust is the most important. That is why you are so powerful. Without trust, their is no friendship. Now, go and show your friends how much trust you can give."
While listening to her soul, Solar slowly gained her color back. Then there was a knock on her door.
When she opened it, all 6 of her friends were standing there, with their colors restored.
"Solar, it's time to defeat Discord." Said Twilight
"Count me in." Replied Solar
They walked over to where Discord was sitting on a throne about to drink chocolate milk. He was still expecting them to fail like they did before. But this time, they were going to succeed.
Solar used her magic to power up the elements. They began to flash and shoot projectiles at Discord, who had his eyes closed until one passed by him. A few more were shot at Discord before a rainbow beam, just like the one used on Nightmare Moon, enveloped Discord and turned him back into stone. The rainbow then turned everything back to the way it was, and Discord toppled over.
Later in Canterlot, a celebration for Discord's defeat was going on. The mane 7 were congratulated for defeating Discord. An extreme party followed, and it lasted for hours. Then the mane 7 and Spike went back to Ponyville, for it was very late.
Solar went back to her house and went to sleep. She would have many visits from her soul again in her life.
One day after a week had passed since the defeat of Discord. Solar was out getting food for herself because she was low.
As she passed by an alley between two buildings, she heard the sound of an empty stomach grumbling. Curious, she walked into the alley following the sound. The sound was coming from a box in the corner of the alley. Solar opened the box and found a filly pegasus laying there scared, but unable to move from being so weak from hunger.
Solar felt sorry for the filly and gave her some of the food she bought. The filly was hesitant to take the food at first, but her hunger won. She ate everything that Solar gave to her.
"Hello." Said Solar. "I'm Solar Flame. What's your name?"
"Um- I don't know." replied the filly.
Solar instantly became worried when she said her answer. If the filly had no name, that means she had no parents.
"Well, what do you think of the name Crystal burst?"
The filly thought about this for several seconds before responding. "I like that name."
"Well, Crystal, do you want to come to stay at my house?"
"S-Sure." replied Crystal. She tried to fly onto Solar's back, but was still too weak to.
Solar levitated the filly onto her back and flew back over to her house. While flying back, Solar only had one thought on her mind. She needs a home. I want, no, I need to adopt her.
When they got to Solar's house, Solar sent a message to Twilight. The message said, "Twilight, I need you to come over to my house as soon as possible. Earlier today, I found a pegasus filly with no name laying in a box. She was very weak from hunger when I found her so I gave her some of my food and took her back to my house.
Twilight got the message and quickly rushed over to Solar's house. When she got there, Solar talked to her about how she needed to adopt Crystal.
"Could you watch Crystal while I get the adoption papers?" Asked Solar
"Sure" Answered Twilight
"Great, thanks."
Solar then teleported to the Ponyville Adoption Center for the adoption papers for Crystal burst.
"Excuse me." Said Solar, "I'm here for adoption papers."
"Alright. I'll need to ask questions about the pony you're adopting."
"Sure."
"Filly or colt?"
"Filly."
"Pegasus, Earth Pony, or Unicorn?"
"Pegasus."
"Name?"
"Crystal burst is her name and Solar Flame is my name."
"Do you have anything in your house that is dangerous to young ponies?"
"No."
"Perfect. Here are the papers."
"Thank you."
Solar left the adoption center with the papers and went back to her house.
"I'm back Twilight. How's Crystal?"
"She's good, but. . ."
"But what?" Said Solar, slightly nervous.
"She might have put a cloaking spell on her horn because she is actually an alicorn."
"WHAT!!! SHE'S AN ALICORN!!!!"
"Apparently."
"Well, at least she isn't hurt. Crystal, I need to show you something."
"What is it?"
"First, how much do you want a mother?"
"I-I" Crystal said, starting to cry. "I want one so bad, I've lived alone on the streets my whole life. Both of my parents died before they could even name me."
"Well, I have good news." Replied Solar. She pulled out the certificate for Crystal's adoption and gave it to Crystal. "Read this."
Crystal read the paper and instantly ran up to Solar. She was crying from joy while repeating "Thank you" and hugged her.
Solar hugged her back, also crying. They stopped hugging and crying shortly after.
"Well, I should head back to the library." Said Twilight, "Good luck with Crystal, Solar."
"I will" Replied Solar.
"So, Crystal. Let me show you your room. Then we'll set you up for school."
"Okay." Replied Crystal
Solar showed Crystal her room. The walls were painted sky-blue with white clouds. there was a small bed, a desk with a lamp, a chest for toys, and a nightstand. The room also had a window with multi colored drapes that shone many different colors into the room whenever the sun was out.
"What do you think?"
"I like it."
"I figured you would. Now, let's go to the Ponyville schoolhouse to register you for school."
"Okay" Replied Crystal
"Perfect." Said Solar, walking out of her house with Crystal.
It didn't take them long to get the the schoolhouse. They walked inside to meet Ms. Cheerilee.
"Hello Ms. Cheerilee." Said Solar
"Hello Solar. What brings you to the schoolhouse today?"
"I'm here to register my daughter, Crystal burst, for school."
The two chatted for a couple hours to prepare Crystal for school. When they were done, Cheerilee told them that school would be starting tomorrow at 8:00. Solar then took Crystal to Sugarcube corner for ice cream.
"Hey Solar." Said Pinkie.
"Hi Pinkie. I came for two ice cream cones. One for me and one for my adopted daughter, Crystal burst."
"ADOPTED!!!"
"No, I don't want a party yet." Said Solar, knowing that Pinkie threw a party whenever she got the chance. "Crystal needs to get used to being around ponies before I even consider having a party for her."
"Alright. But when you think that Crystal is used to being around ponies, I'm throwing a party for her."
By this time, Pinkie already had the cones ready for Solar and Crystal. She gave the cones to them and they enjoyed them.
When they finished the cones, it was late, and Crystal had to go to bed. So Solar levitated Crystal on her back again before teleporting them back to her house. Solar brought Crystal, who was already sleeping, to her bedroom and laid her in her bed before going to her bed.

From now on, this story will keep switching between Solar and Crystal's personal life and the main series
