Nothing but death and decay. A Lifeless Corpse floating in deep space forever to be lost from its star. Until one day it came across seven immortal beings that would eventually be known as the Elements of Harmony. There was Probitatis who resembled Honesty, Misericordiam resembled Kindness, Liberalitas resembled Generosity, Fidelitas resembled Loyalty, Risus resembled Laughter, Magia Resembled Magic, and finally the would be known as the forgotten element Umbra the Element of Shadow. With their life giving power and harmonious nature life would soon form on this world but, with a cost. Darkness would form in the element of shadow's heart growing to bitter to his sisters being the element that only causes death to keep balance. He tried to take over and strike down his sisters but was unsuccessful in his task and was banished to the moon for his deeds and stripped of his element and it was destroyed which only fueled his rage and distaste for his sisters. When he broke free from his prison he tried again only to be stopped by Misericordiam. Trying to convince his brother that they cared for their younger brother but, he refused to believe what she said and attacked her. Realizing what he had done he wanted to run from everything but, yet again was confronted by his sisters and was struck down and his body turned to stone to be forever to lay dormant hidden away near the tallest mountain in a valley where a forest of unnatural behavior that would forever hide him away from the world. As time went on he was forgotten by his sisters but, Misericordiam still held hope that one day her younger brother, their younger brother would return to them so they could correct the wrongs and be united once more.” An echoey Female voice said. As she wrote in a book, finishing her story closing the book standing up the voice belonged to an Alicorn that had a cutie mark that was in the shape of a butterfly as a pink mane flowed in a none-existing wind her coat was also pink like her mane as she looked down at the element of shadow as he was not a pony but a dragon. “Little brother, I await the day when you will wake so that we may be united once more. Good-bye my little brother I will return one day.” Kindness said as she walk out of the chamber where she had created a temple for him under the unnatural forest. 600,000 years later—Everfree forest In the tomb where the young drake laid, he was dormant as if he was really a statue the tomb began to tremble and shake as some of the already ruined pillars fell and collapsed to the ground. As soon as it came the tomb stopped its shaking. A voice spoke from the dark and dormant room shaking it as if trembling from the sheer sound of the voice. ”Ashes to Ashes....Dust to Dust!” the voice sound like more than one voice was talking while holding a demonic tone. The statue still laid dormant. When on the statue the eyes began to glow a a bright light came from the. As another began to talk. “Wh...where am I? Sisters? P..please help...I’m scared.” A male childish voice said as the sound echoed. Then the tomb fell silent once more nothing came from the statue; the glowing disappeared and everything went still once more. Ponyville—Present Date The main six surrounded the table as they where finally glad to be home after dealing with starlight glimmer and freeing the town from her. “Can you believe that she stole our cutiemarks. I mean that was just cruel.” Rainbow dash said as she came to settle down on her throne. “I agree with dash, that just ain’t right to steel somepony’s cutiemark like that.”applejack said as she too came to sit on her throne. “I know but, at least we set free the town and now they are thriving.” Twilight sparkle said. They soon started to talk about their plans until the cutiemap called all of them again to a place which confused them it was in the middle a field and then another symbol appeared it was black with the decal of a dragon with its wings spread out and which was put in the center of the Everfree forest which confUsed them. They eventually decided to follow the map’s Instructions And went to the field only to find nothing. “Hold on I may have a way to find what we are looking for.” Twilight said “And do tell what your planning darling.” Rarity said as she looked at her friend. “Tracking spell.” Twilight said and with a wave of her horn a wave of pure magic washed over the field and that’s when she had found it. “It’s right here.” she said digging a little bit before finding a stone door opening it and walking in they came into an opening where four stone boxes payed in the center with drawings around them. As they got closer torches began to illuminate the room revealing tombs with six dead ponies in Them and the smell of death around them. “It must say it’s quite dreadful in here.” Rarity said “Ya think?” AppleJack retorted. Twilight walked to one of them and noticed a marking and gasped as she backed away, which attracted the others as they saw what she saw and had the same reaction. “These are Alicorns and thats fluttershy’s cutiemark.” It was open as it showed the skeletal remains but, something caught Twilight’s attention as she ignited her horn she carefully removed the forelegs off a book from the alicorn’s body and opened it and found writing that she knew but it was a forgotten language. “This is ancient ponish before the tribes unified and before the tribes were even formed.” Twilight said and used a translation spell on it and her blood ran cold in which the others noticed. “This is a journal and a story. These are the elements of harmony and according to this book they are lying dormant waiting for something or somepony.” She said looking at all of them. “Do you think there is some secret passage In here like the Daring Do books.” Rainbow dash said getting a little giddy at the thought. “Rainbow I don’t thin...” twilight was cut off by pinkie pie. “You mean this secret passage?” She said pointing to an open section in the wall. They entered more and more and came into a room that had even more writing on it and in which twilight read it out loud. “With our final effort we did....” “ what we never thought we would do. Our little brother was lost to his own element to the darkness that we had to rely on to keep life in check we had to do the unthinkable we had to strike him down killing him. Twilight looked around and was in the middle of the field her friends were but could not find them until she heard an explosion making her turn here head only to find six alicorns on the ground with blood running down the sides of their heads and nose. She noticed that a red and blue alicorn had her horn broken in half. Then she looked up and saw what had caused them all of that harm. A dragon that had black scales and a dark grey under belly laughed as he spoke in his demonic voice that seemingly echoed through the open air. “Your rejection has gone on for too long. I have tried again and again but, did you learn nothing from when you tried the first time. You cast me out like I was nothing you claim to be the Elements of Harmony but, Where was your harmony when you LOOKED AT ME! NOTHING BUT DISGUST AND REJECTION NO LOVE NO COMPASSION TO ME ONLY HATE. You stripped me of the only thing that made me who I am and now that my way of life is gone you shall be the end of all life.” The dragon said before lunging and a white flash engulfed the world and Twilight woke up with a a start and found herself in her. With that she took the book and left the tomb resealing it and putting it back the way it was hoping never to return she took one last look behind her before that scene flashed in her mind. As they all went back to the castle. As Fluttershy turned with the others she started to here something. “Kindness? I want to go home please” Fluttershy heard the voice but saw nothing and thought it was in her head as seeing how no pony else heard it. A lone figure sat atop the hill watching the six mates leave and was glad that the purple one got the book from her body as she slowly disappeared from existence. Author's Note PLEASE READ This takes place right as the cutie map has been discovered. And stuff will start get moving sometime after. This project has been in the works for at least a couple months trying to get all the characters straight and keeping them consistent. So enjoy Chapter 1: BlackLightAuthor's Note So about the first Chapter The names of the elements of harmony are actually Latin versions of their names, like Umbra is Latin for shadow. so i got kinda creative with those. Anyway I hope you enjoy this chapter and I will try to make them longer. Also there is a bigger story to this and I might expand upon this Story. yet again hope you enjoy and see you next chapter. Chapter 1: BlackLight A pony sat in a jail cell as two Royal guards stood well guard at the door of the cell. The colt was in his early teens and was mischievous at times. From stealing to other crime related topics. He watched as some of the Guards walked by everyone and again. He was a colt with a black coat, a grey mane with a purple strip going down the middle of his mane and tail. His Cutiemark was an Orange skull with a circle around it with a grey dragon with is wings spread out behind it. “Black Light, the Princess wishes to speak to you in private.” A guard said as he opened the door to let him out as he put a horn dampener on him and a chain around his wings. He was an Alicorn but he never showed anyone his wings also had orange at the tips of his feathers. He was imprisoned for the use of dark magic when that’s all he knew how to use, due to it being the only magic he could use. He walked with the guards, with the silence being as sharp as a dagger. He payed it no mind as he was used to the silence. Being locked up for 5 years can do a number on a pony. “Wait here.” The guard said as he opened a set of double doors and said something about me being here. Not soon after he had turned to me and brought me in and then left me. The princess’s stares were unnerving to him he was half their height even Luna tower over him. He wore a pair of glasses and had a grey hoodie to keep his wings hidden and just to keep him warm. “BlackLight, is it?” Earning a small nod from Blacklight. “You are here because you have been accused of practicing dark magic for one at your age can cause serious backlash.” Celestia said still looking at Blacklight in disappointment, as Blacklight just sat there wincing are the accusation with his ears lowered to the side of his head. “As your crimes are serious there is a matter that is for some reason concerning you and the elements.” Celestia said which earned a surprised look from Blacklight. “Me, why me I am not good for anything.” Blacklight said sounding surprised. “Well for one your cutiemark has been calling you to the castle of friendship.” Celestia said gesturing to his cutiemark which seemed to glowing. “So we have come to offer you a deal.” “Deal?” “Yes a deal.” Like a actual deal with freedom and everything?” “Yes Blacklight, everything.” Celestia said getting annoyed with the colt. “So if you help the Elements of Harmony in their journey to their next objective you will be pardoned of all crimes against you and freedom to do as you please with your magic with in reasonable boundaries. Does that sound fair?” Celestia stated with a raised eyebrow. “Hm...fair enough. But under one condition.” Blacklight said with sternness evident in his voice. “And what might that be?” Princess Luna said which made both Princess Celestia and Blacklight jump in surprise at forgetting she was there. “I want him back.” He said making it sound like an order rather then a demand. With a heavy sigh of contempt she nodded her head. “Very well. You will have him by the end of the week.” Celestia said as she watched him being taken to a guest room. “Sister are you sure we should return him after the crimes they committed.” Luna asked “With all do respect, I agree with your sister should we?” Shinning Armor asked. “The crimes range from arson to other crimes that would be life in tartarus.” He finished “I know and understand your concerns but, if he is to help we must play his games for the time being.” She said earning a nod from everyone in the room. ———————————- Blacklight was laying down on the guest bed bathing in its softness. It was so foreign to him it just felt so good and it was so soft. He noticed that the sun was slowly setting over the horizon. “Welp so much for exploring.” He said our load as he just got under the covers and soon fell into a deep sleep. He found himself in the room he fell asleep in and noticed that it was in ruins. He got curious about where he was and got up. When his hooves touches the ground it was not the cool marble It was. It was warm almost hot to the touch. He made his horn light up, putting cooling spell around him. He soon what he called a torch spell. He shot the ground making a crystal appear from the marble that gave off a glow as strong as a torch. “Sweet celestia I love dark magic.” Blacklight said as he picked up the purple crystal as it started to float near his head but not close enough to be a bother. He walked through the darkened halls until he came across a junction he turned to his left and saw a hallway of dead pony guards scattered everywhere. His heart skipped a beat when he saw the carnage. He carefully walked through the hallway trying not to touch or step on, for that matter, the bodies. When he came to the window he saw all of Canterlot on fire and burning screams of the ponies echoing in his mind. He saw the burning bodies as this pictured entered his mind. He had seen it before and it always struck fear into him. Then it came to him the voice that had always plagued his dreams. The voice was so loud he had to cover his ears. “Ashes to ashes...Dust to dust.” The voice echoed with a deep grading tone in its voice. He hated this part of his dreams but it soon went away which heavily confused him he was still in the castle with it being in ruin. “You are troubled Blacklight.” Luna’s voice said as she exited the moon that hovered in the sky. “I am not troubled.” He said looking away “Then why is this what I see.” Luna said as she festered to the burning city of Canterlot. “It’s none of your concern.” Blacklight said. “It is my concern if this is what I see in a dream.” Luna said. “I said it doesn’t concern you it’s a personal problem not yours now get out OF MY HEAD!” He shouted as Luna suddenly disappeared and Blacklight sat up in a sweat noticing that the sun was starting to rise over the horizon. He soon curled up into a ball covering himself with his wings. He hated that dream. No matter how many times he had it, it always scared him. With a heavy sigh he got up and readied himself for the train ride to a town called Ponyville. He had never heard of it but, then again he was always in a prison cell. He headed for the shower to clean the dirt and grim off of him since I never got a proper bath in jail. He soon heard a knock on his door after coming out of the bathroom. His mane was spiked up, with the purple strip going at the base of his mane. The purple strip was supposed to signify his connection with dark magic. Well, that was what he was told. He approached the door and opened it to reveal Princess Celestia was there with two royal guards next to her. "Are you ready for your trip?" Celestia asked "Well I don't really have any luggage with me seeing how its all destroyed or gone somewhere else, so yes I am ready. Lets get this over with." Blacklight said "The train is waiting for you." she said gesturing for him to follow. After awhile they came upon a two large doors almost as big as the ones at the throne room, it opened letting in sun light. Blacklight had to shield his eyes for a couple of seconds before he could move. when his eyes focused he saw a carriage waiting to take them to the train station. After boarding the carriage Celestia and Blacklight sat in silence. That was until Celestia asked a question he would never ever be asked. "Why did you do it." she asked with sternness in her voice. "Its a long story." he said. "We got time to spare." Celestia said. "Fine. It all started when I was born. I had a connection to dark magic even stronger than King Sombra. Which was a huge surprise. According to the magical doctors I had balance within myself allowing this strange occurrence and that if severed it could seriously hurt the way my magic works if not make it not work at all." His teenaged voice starting to crack up. "Continue." Celestia said. "Then it happened, the day you would make me a wanted pony. Before that it was all a blur. All I remember was screaming then an explosion and more screaming and the worst part was I wasn't harmed. I had cause an entire town to burn and everpony with it. I had killed my family, my friends, and worst of all they called me for a monster that they created. I ran away. As far and as fast as I could until the day you captured me." Blacklight said finally finishing the tale of how he was the way he was. "Well then, if you claim your innocent then why not try to prove it?" Celestia said. "Would you believe a child if he said that he was framed for exploding an entire town when you watched said child blow it up." Blacklight said flatly. "Well, you have a point. You were never old enough now that I think about it." Celestia pointed out. After a few minutes of an awkward silence the carriage came to a complete stop. A guard soon opened the door and the princess went first and Blacklight soon following. Soon they both entered the train car that was in the back so they could be left in private. They sat far apart Blacklight getting that nap in that he has been wanting and with the train car seats not being that comfortable but, still better than a jail cell he slept the entire way to Ponyville. Sooner than Blacklight would have wanted he was awoken by Celestia and was levitated out of the train car with him pouting about not getting enough sleep on the ride. He was walking with Celestia through the town, he watch as younger Fillies and colts were running around and playing with each other. He just wished he could have done the same thing. They soon came to what Blacklight would have called an eye soar. A castle so shiny it basically just says 'Rob me'. Opening the door to the Castle, celestia took Blacklight through the castle which made Blacklights last thought seem like it was an understatment. Soon they had come to a set of double doors where when they opened he found six mares staring at him with confusion anger and one of them fear. Of course Blacklight did the usaual. "Um...hi?" Chapter 2: SilenceSomething has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.The Tale of The Obsidian SeaThe battle for the Obsidian Sea was a crucial part in a war that had long since been forgotten if you don't know where to look. A long time ago 200,000 years ago a battle that would forever change the way the world was. The Battle of The Obsidian Sea was a battle that would take place in what is known as the dragon lands. Creatures long forgotten to time had fought for years and years turning the once lush and prosperous land into nothing but a never ending Sea of Obsidian and ash. The land was caught in a never ending war for control over the Volcanic kingdom. A single dragon stood at the hill over looking an entire army of other dragons as this little dragon was one of the strongest in all history. Two more figures came next to him. The one on the left was named Interceptor a pony instead of a dragon. Its jaw split into two halves as he snapped them together making growling noises as his bladed tail slapped the ground. The one on the right named was Jason and he was a dragon with black scales and a dark maroon under belly like the smaller one in the middle. As the middle one's name was Shadow Demon. The strongest Demon of all of them. Unbeatable, showed no mercy to his targets, brutally killing his victims, and most importantly he never lost a fight. After only an hour the entire army was dead and the volcanic Kingdom Belonged to the fire dragons now. The Shadow Demon one day got into a fight with another demon named Null. his power could match that of Shadow demon's own but, Null was no match, until he did one last task. he was sent into the void where Shadow Demon would forever lay dormant in deep deep sleep forever drifting in the emptiness of its blackened world. Author's Note I know this one is short but, i have reason for it. The next one will be way longer Chapter 3: UnleashedPonyville was in a blaze while half Canterlot had fallen from its perch, killing almost half of its residents. other settle ments were in ruins after The element of shadow claimed his thrown over equestria and beyond. The planet soon became lifeless. vaults were built under ground as diamond dogs helped the ponies create these. Everypony, dragon, diamond dog, and griffon banded together to form the Equestrian Militia. Twilight Sparkle and her friends where standing before Umbra as he laughed outloud in delight. "You think even with your precious Elements YOU CANT STOP ME. Not even my sisters could so makes you any different." Umbra said in a mocking tone. "We have no bitterness to you only confrontation to stop you Umbra. Your tyranny ends here Umbra." Twilight said. "Bring it." Umbra said as he let out an ear splitting battle cry as he charged at the main six as the rainbow beam came down upon him with a bright flash, everything went black. 4 Days Earlier Blacklight was waiting at the front of the castle doors waiting for him to show up. He was like a little brother to him. well then again, Twilight has a similar case. He suddenly heard a knock on the castle doors and opened it to find princess Celestia standing there. "Hay, put me down you over grown horse." a childish voice said and saw a young colt wearing a pony skull on his head with his coat being black, while having grey fire decals going across his body. He also had a reptile tail instead of a pony tail. His mane gave off red a green flame as his eyes were nothing but purple orbs in his soulless eyes. After that insult some ponies gasped at his insult. “mortem, mind not insulting the pony that agreed to get you out of Tartarus?” Blacklight said. “Blacklight?” Mortem yelped as he wiggled in Celestia’s hold on him. “Can you put him down please?” Blacklight said flatly. “He is now under your custody.” Celestia said putting Mortem down. Mortem quickly ran over to Blacklight hugging his foreleg. Soon he turned and gave Celestia an angry glare. With some annoying discussion Celestia finally left. Mortem stuck close to Blacklight smiling the entire time making his way with him to the map room. Where the main six were waiting for the surprise he had called them for. Blacklight soon walked in with a odd looking pony nestled between his wings. Looking at the castle and eventually to the map of Equestria. “A map of Equestria? How much of it have you burned? What was or is the death toll? Tell me tell me tell me!!” Mortem started but was silenced by Blacklight by holding his hoof up. “We made a deal with Celestia not to burn settlements down like we used to. Understand?” Blacklight said making Mortem put his head down. “Now these are the Elements of Harmony. To be honest not the smartest of the bunch but, they get the job done.” Which earned a angry glare from all of them. Mortem tried to climb up onto the table his little legs being to small. He felt pressure under his rump and found himself being lifted up onto the map. He looked at the map in in fascination touching everything. He wanted to touch everything but was pick up by Twilight. Earning her a death glare from Blacklight that basically said ‘if you don’t put him down I will kill you’. Which made Twilight give a light chuckle before floating him over to Blacklight who step forward a little to put himself in front of Mortem. “Well darling aren’t you going to introduce him to us?” Rarity said. “His name is death or preferably to be named Mortem. He was my friend during our glory days of burning and killing an...” he was cut off by Mortem. “And it was really really really fun. We would zip and zoom away from guards and sometimes even kill them. I miss those days.” Mortem said only to see that everyone but Blacklight look disturbed by the fact. “Anyway, Mortem is my charge and if anypony lays a hoof on him you will face my wrath Element of Harmony or not, you will answer to me. And you don’t go lying about it all because you don’t like somepony.” Blacklight said earning a furious nod from Mortem and the others. “No then I have some catching up to do.” Blacklight said floating Mortem onto his back where the would make their leave. As they walked through the market Mortem looked around in heavy fascination. Excited to be out of his prison. He soon wiggled on his back trying to get comfortable on his back. Mortem started to sniff the air until he looked at Blacklight. “You contacted him again didn’t you?” Mortem said. “Yes and I needed his help with something and that’s all.” Blacklight said. “But why he is a complete dick.” Mortem said “True but, he is the reason why you are here.” Blacklight said. “Where are we even going.” Mortem asked which caused a smile to appear on Blacklight’s face. “scholae.” Blacklight said which made Mortem’s pulps shrink the pin pricks. “No, please no not again.” Mortem pleaded “You think I had a choice? Celestia said you had too.” Blacklight said “and do not use that form switch to your normal pony form please?” Blacklight finished. Soon he turned and found a pony with the same coat and everything even the tail except his mane and tail were a dark blue. “That works now you need to get registered.” Blacklight said. After a long and painfully long time of doing paper work and Mortem was supposed to start the next day. Blacklight only ever complained when he was the one in deep trouble which was a lot. After that they both noticed that the sun was going down over the horizon and they started to head back to the castle of friendship. When Blacklight stopped for a second he closed his eyes let his dark magic take over him making his eye start to glow green. “Blacklight what is the problem? Who needs an ass kicking.” Mortem said as Blacklight finally spoke. “hoc valere. He has awoken.” Blacklight said before picking Mortem and putting him onto his back and took off running towards the castle. Bucking the door open to the library making Twilight jump clinging to the ceiling. “Twilight get your friends, now!” Blacklight said which only made her confused. Eventually she gathered all of her friends and all met in the map room where they found Blacklight had turned the Equestrian map with dark magic and a Mortem floating even though he did not have any wings. “We have a big problem.” Blacklight said flatly without even looking at them. He picked up a symbol that had been written on a piece of parchment. “Have you ever heard of the Dark Ages?” Blacklight asked. “Um no why?” Twilight asked. “The very being that caused it may have awoken.” Blacklight said. “You Elements of Harmony are about to fight your equal or opposite whatever floats your boat.” Blacklight said before they started to explain the story of the Legend of the Element of shadow and how he was supposed to be harmony’s opposite to balance it out. When they all heard a roar so loud that Luna’s Royal canterlot voice would be dwarfed by how loud it was. “He is here.” Blacklight said before everything went down from there. Author's Note HAHAHAHAHA.......oh um hi.......oh yes an authors note, yes that...oh I got it. FYI Mortem means death. This chapter will hopefully be longer than the rest if not then that means I am saving the rest for something special. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.Memory Part 1“Sisters, I know we mother and father have trusted us with him but, do we have to he reeks disharmony.” Loyalty said as the group glared at the sleeping drake that laid next to Kindness. “And how is an element of shadow supposed to be harmonious anyway?” Loyalty finished. “We must honor Mother’s wishes and uphold Father’s rules.” Generosity said letting out a groan and walked over to kindness. “Kindness can we have a word?” Magic said as she let her horn connect their minds together. “I don’t like this we should not be taking care of something that causes death. Why is that even harmony?” Honesty said Magic actually knew this one and spoke up but kindness beat her to it. “It is to keep order in a life cycle to prevent any of something from growing to big he will learn like we did to use his element for good and not for evil as long as we show him the care and compassion he needs and deserves. Also, he is kinda cute.” Kindness said looking back at the disapproving glares of her sisters. As they turned to leave she noticed that the young element was looking at her in worry as he tried to Bury himself into her fur. She let out a laugh as let out a purring noise and started to go back to sleep. “Don’t worry about them they’ll come around and look at you they way I see you.” Kindness said. After walking over to a crib she laid the sleeping mass in it and slowly walked away. Letting out a sigh she turned around only to meet her sister’s angry glares. “Why must you be so bitter to him he is just a child what could he do? We are to care for him no matter what he is it’s our job to care for him. We must be there for him and I for one do not want to face father’s wrath.” She said which made their glares soften a little. “But he is still an element of disharmony how is he going to help us if not get in the way.” Loyalty said. “Well you can think what you want to think I am going to abide by Father and Mother’s wishes but, if you want to face their wrath you can.” She said as she walked away from the group and to her quarters of the new world they had given life to. They had found a world to call their own like the Father and Mother had created their domain and as a gift Shadow was given to them to hold dear as they said he was important. But for what she did not know all she did know that she would protect Shadow even if it was from her sisters but, she would hope it would not come to that. She did not under stand why they did not like him if Father and Mother said that he was important than they must have their reasons. She never argued with them because of what Father would do but, she would do as she was told even if her sisters would not. Author's Note This is how the memories will work being short and simple so not to drag it on so you can try to figure how the memories go and in what order cause they are not in order.

There was Probitatis who resembled Honesty, Misericordiam resembled Kindness, Liberalitas resembled Generosity, Fidelitas resembled Loyalty, Risus resembled Laughter, Magia Resembled Magic, and finally the would be known as the forgotten element Umbra the Element of Shadow. With their life giving power and harmonious nature life would soon form on this world but, with a cost. Darkness would form in the element of shadow's heart growing to bitter to his sisters being the element that only causes death to keep balance. He tried to take over and strike down his sisters but was unsuccessful in his task and was banished to the moon for his deeds and stripped of his element and it was destroyed which only fueled his rage and distaste for his sisters. When he broke free from his prison he tried again only to be stopped by Misericordiam. Trying to convince his brother that they cared for their younger brother but, he refused to believe what she said and attacked her. Realizing what he had done he wanted to run from everything but, yet again was confronted by his sisters and was struck down and his body turned to stone to be forever to lay dormant hidden away near the tallest mountain in a valley where a forest of unnatural behavior that would forever hide him away from the world. As time went on he was forgotten by his sisters but, Misericordiam still held hope that one day her younger brother, their younger brother would return to them so they could correct the wrongs and be united once more.” An echoey Female voice said. As she wrote in a book, finishing her story closing the book standing up the voice belonged to an Alicorn that had a cutie mark that was in the shape of a butterfly as a pink mane flowed in a none-existing wind her coat was also pink like her mane as she looked down at the element of shadow as he was not a pony but a dragon. “Little brother, I await the day when you will wake so that we may be united once more. Good-bye my little brother I will return one day.” Kindness said as she walk out of the chamber where she had created a temple for him under the unnatural forest. 600,000 years later—Everfree forest In the tomb where the young drake laid, he was dormant as if he was really a statue the tomb began to tremble and shake as some of the already ruined pillars fell and collapsed to the ground. As soon as it came the tomb stopped its shaking. A voice spoke from the dark and dormant room shaking it as if trembling from the sheer sound of the voice. ”Ashes to Ashes....Dust to Dust!” the voice sound like more than one voice was talking while holding a demonic tone. The statue still laid dormant. When on the statue the eyes began to glow a a bright light came from the. As another began to talk. “Wh...where am I? Sisters? P..please help...I’m scared.” A male childish voice said as the sound echoed. Then the tomb fell silent once more nothing came from the statue; the glowing disappeared and everything went still once more. Ponyville—Present Date The main six surrounded the table as they where finally glad to be home after dealing with starlight glimmer and freeing the town from her. “Can you believe that she stole our cutiemarks. I mean that was just cruel.” Rainbow dash said as she came to settle down on her throne. “I agree with dash, that just ain’t right to steel somepony’s cutiemark like that.”applejack said as she too came to sit on her throne. “I know but, at least we set free the town and now they are thriving.” Twilight sparkle said. They soon started to talk about their plans until the cutiemap called all of them again to a place which confused them it was in the middle a field and then another symbol appeared it was black with the decal of a dragon with its wings spread out and which was put in the center of the Everfree forest which confUsed them. They eventually decided to follow the map’s Instructions And went to the field only to find nothing. “Hold on I may have a way to find what we are looking for.” Twilight said “And do tell what your planning darling.” Rarity said as she looked at her friend. “Tracking spell.” Twilight said and with a wave of her horn a wave of pure magic washed over the field and that’s when she had found it. “It’s right here.” she said digging a little bit before finding a stone door opening it and walking in they came into an opening where four stone boxes payed in the center with drawings around them. As they got closer torches began to illuminate the room revealing tombs with six dead ponies in Them and the smell of death around them. “It must say it’s quite dreadful in here.” Rarity said “Ya think?” AppleJack retorted. Twilight walked to one of them and noticed a marking and gasped as she backed away, which attracted the others as they saw what she saw and had the same reaction. “These are Alicorns and thats fluttershy’s cutiemark.” It was open as it showed the skeletal remains but, something caught Twilight’s attention as she ignited her horn she carefully removed the forelegs off a book from the alicorn’s body and opened it and found writing that she knew but it was a forgotten language. “This is ancient ponish before the tribes unified and before the tribes were even formed.” Twilight said and used a translation spell on it and her blood ran cold in which the others noticed. “This is a journal and a story. These are the elements of harmony and according to this book they are lying dormant waiting for something or somepony.” She said looking at all of them. “Do you think there is some secret passage In here like the Daring Do books.” Rainbow dash said getting a little giddy at the thought. “Rainbow I don’t thin...” twilight was cut off by pinkie pie. “You mean this secret passage?” She said pointing to an open section in the wall. They entered more and more and came into a room that had even more writing on it and in which twilight read it out loud. “With our final effort we did....” “ what we never thought we would do. Our little brother was lost to his own element to the darkness that we had to rely on to keep life in check we had to do the unthinkable we had to strike him down killing him. Twilight looked around and was in the middle of the field her friends were but could not find them until she heard an explosion making her turn here head only to find six alicorns on the ground with blood running down the sides of their heads and nose. She noticed that a red and blue alicorn had her horn broken in half. Then she looked up and saw what had caused them all of that harm. A dragon that had black scales and a dark grey under belly laughed as he spoke in his demonic voice that seemingly echoed through the open air. “Your rejection has gone on for too long. I have tried again and again but, did you learn nothing from when you tried the first time. You cast me out like I was nothing you claim to be the Elements of Harmony but, Where was your harmony when you LOOKED AT ME! NOTHING BUT DISGUST AND REJECTION NO LOVE NO COMPASSION TO ME ONLY HATE. You stripped me of the only thing that made me who I am and now that my way of life is gone you shall be the end of all life.” The dragon said before lunging and a white flash engulfed the world and Twilight woke up with a a start and found herself in her. With that she took the book and left the tomb resealing it and putting it back the way it was hoping never to return she took one last look behind her before that scene flashed in her mind. As they all went back to the castle. As Fluttershy turned with the others she started to here something. “Kindness? I want to go home please” Fluttershy heard the voice but saw nothing and thought it was in her head as seeing how no pony else heard it. A lone figure sat atop the hill watching the six mates leave and was glad that the purple one got the book from her body as she slowly disappeared from existence. Author's Note PLEASE READ This takes place right as the cutie map has been discovered. And stuff will start get moving sometime after. This project has been in the works for at least a couple months trying to get all the characters straight and keeping them consistent. So enjoy
Chapter 1: BlackLightAuthor's Note So about the first Chapter The names of the elements of harmony are actually Latin versions of their names, like Umbra is Latin for shadow. so i got kinda creative with those. Anyway I hope you enjoy this chapter and I will try to make them longer. Also there is a bigger story to this and I might expand upon this Story. yet again hope you enjoy and see you next chapter. Chapter 1: BlackLight A pony sat in a jail cell as two Royal guards stood well guard at the door of the cell. The colt was in his early teens and was mischievous at times. From stealing to other crime related topics. He watched as some of the Guards walked by everyone and again. He was a colt with a black coat, a grey mane with a purple strip going down the middle of his mane and tail. His Cutiemark was an Orange skull with a circle around it with a grey dragon with is wings spread out behind it. “Black Light, the Princess wishes to speak to you in private.” A guard said as he opened the door to let him out as he put a horn dampener on him and a chain around his wings. He was an Alicorn but he never showed anyone his wings also had orange at the tips of his feathers. He was imprisoned for the use of dark magic when that’s all he knew how to use, due to it being the only magic he could use. He walked with the guards, with the silence being as sharp as a dagger. He payed it no mind as he was used to the silence. Being locked up for 5 years can do a number on a pony. “Wait here.” The guard said as he opened a set of double doors and said something about me being here. Not soon after he had turned to me and brought me in and then left me. The princess’s stares were unnerving to him he was half their height even Luna tower over him. He wore a pair of glasses and had a grey hoodie to keep his wings hidden and just to keep him warm. “BlackLight, is it?” Earning a small nod from Blacklight. “You are here because you have been accused of practicing dark magic for one at your age can cause serious backlash.” Celestia said still looking at Blacklight in disappointment, as Blacklight just sat there wincing are the accusation with his ears lowered to the side of his head. “As your crimes are serious there is a matter that is for some reason concerning you and the elements.” Celestia said which earned a surprised look from Blacklight. “Me, why me I am not good for anything.” Blacklight said sounding surprised. “Well for one your cutiemark has been calling you to the castle of friendship.” Celestia said gesturing to his cutiemark which seemed to glowing. “So we have come to offer you a deal.” “Deal?” “Yes a deal.” Like a actual deal with freedom and everything?” “Yes Blacklight, everything.” Celestia said getting annoyed with the colt. “So if you help the Elements of Harmony in their journey to their next objective you will be pardoned of all crimes against you and freedom to do as you please with your magic with in reasonable boundaries. Does that sound fair?” Celestia stated with a raised eyebrow. “Hm...fair enough. But under one condition.” Blacklight said with sternness evident in his voice. “And what might that be?” Princess Luna said which made both Princess Celestia and Blacklight jump in surprise at forgetting she was there. “I want him back.” He said making it sound like an order rather then a demand. With a heavy sigh of contempt she nodded her head. “Very well. You will have him by the end of the week.” Celestia said as she watched him being taken to a guest room. “Sister are you sure we should return him after the crimes they committed.” Luna asked “With all do respect, I agree with your sister should we?” Shinning Armor asked. “The crimes range from arson to other crimes that would be life in tartarus.” He finished “I know and understand your concerns but, if he is to help we must play his games for the time being.” She said earning a nod from everyone in the room. ———————————- Blacklight was laying down on the guest bed bathing in its softness. It was so foreign to him it just felt so good and it was so soft. He noticed that the sun was slowly setting over the horizon. “Welp so much for exploring.” He said our load as he just got under the covers and soon fell into a deep sleep. He found himself in the room he fell asleep in and noticed that it was in ruins. He got curious about where he was and got up. When his hooves touches the ground it was not the cool marble It was. It was warm almost hot to the touch. He made his horn light up, putting cooling spell around him. He soon what he called a torch spell. He shot the ground making a crystal appear from the marble that gave off a glow as strong as a torch. “Sweet celestia I love dark magic.” Blacklight said as he picked up the purple crystal as it started to float near his head but not close enough to be a bother. He walked through the darkened halls until he came across a junction he turned to his left and saw a hallway of dead pony guards scattered everywhere. His heart skipped a beat when he saw the carnage. He carefully walked through the hallway trying not to touch or step on, for that matter, the bodies. When he came to the window he saw all of Canterlot on fire and burning screams of the ponies echoing in his mind. He saw the burning bodies as this pictured entered his mind. He had seen it before and it always struck fear into him. Then it came to him the voice that had always plagued his dreams. The voice was so loud he had to cover his ears. “Ashes to ashes...Dust to dust.” The voice echoed with a deep grading tone in its voice. He hated this part of his dreams but it soon went away which heavily confused him he was still in the castle with it being in ruin. “You are troubled Blacklight.” Luna’s voice said as she exited the moon that hovered in the sky. “I am not troubled.” He said looking away “Then why is this what I see.” Luna said as she festered to the burning city of Canterlot. “It’s none of your concern.” Blacklight said. “It is my concern if this is what I see in a dream.” Luna said. “I said it doesn’t concern you it’s a personal problem not yours now get out OF MY HEAD!” He shouted as Luna suddenly disappeared and Blacklight sat up in a sweat noticing that the sun was starting to rise over the horizon. He soon curled up into a ball covering himself with his wings. He hated that dream. No matter how many times he had it, it always scared him. With a heavy sigh he got up and readied himself for the train ride to a town called Ponyville. He had never heard of it but, then again he was always in a prison cell. He headed for the shower to clean the dirt and grim off of him since I never got a proper bath in jail. He soon heard a knock on his door after coming out of the bathroom. His mane was spiked up, with the purple strip going at the base of his mane. The purple strip was supposed to signify his connection with dark magic. Well, that was what he was told. He approached the door and opened it to reveal Princess Celestia was there with two royal guards next to her. "Are you ready for your trip?" Celestia asked "Well I don't really have any luggage with me seeing how its all destroyed or gone somewhere else, so yes I am ready. Lets get this over with." Blacklight said "The train is waiting for you." she said gesturing for him to follow. After awhile they came upon a two large doors almost as big as the ones at the throne room, it opened letting in sun light. Blacklight had to shield his eyes for a couple of seconds before he could move. when his eyes focused he saw a carriage waiting to take them to the train station. After boarding the carriage Celestia and Blacklight sat in silence. That was until Celestia asked a question he would never ever be asked. "Why did you do it." she asked with sternness in her voice. "Its a long story." he said. "We got time to spare." Celestia said. "Fine. It all started when I was born. I had a connection to dark magic even stronger than King Sombra. Which was a huge surprise. According to the magical doctors I had balance within myself allowing this strange occurrence and that if severed it could seriously hurt the way my magic works if not make it not work at all." His teenaged voice starting to crack up. "Continue." Celestia said. "Then it happened, the day you would make me a wanted pony. Before that it was all a blur. All I remember was screaming then an explosion and more screaming and the worst part was I wasn't harmed. I had cause an entire town to burn and everpony with it. I had killed my family, my friends, and worst of all they called me for a monster that they created. I ran away. As far and as fast as I could until the day you captured me." Blacklight said finally finishing the tale of how he was the way he was. "Well then, if you claim your innocent then why not try to prove it?" Celestia said. "Would you believe a child if he said that he was framed for exploding an entire town when you watched said child blow it up." Blacklight said flatly. "Well, you have a point. You were never old enough now that I think about it." Celestia pointed out. After a few minutes of an awkward silence the carriage came to a complete stop. A guard soon opened the door and the princess went first and Blacklight soon following. Soon they both entered the train car that was in the back so they could be left in private. They sat far apart Blacklight getting that nap in that he has been wanting and with the train car seats not being that comfortable but, still better than a jail cell he slept the entire way to Ponyville. Sooner than Blacklight would have wanted he was awoken by Celestia and was levitated out of the train car with him pouting about not getting enough sleep on the ride. He was walking with Celestia through the town, he watch as younger Fillies and colts were running around and playing with each other. He just wished he could have done the same thing. They soon came to what Blacklight would have called an eye soar. A castle so shiny it basically just says 'Rob me'. Opening the door to the Castle, celestia took Blacklight through the castle which made Blacklights last thought seem like it was an understatment. Soon they had come to a set of double doors where when they opened he found six mares staring at him with confusion anger and one of them fear. Of course Blacklight did the usaual. "Um...hi?"
The Tale of The Obsidian SeaThe battle for the Obsidian Sea was a crucial part in a war that had long since been forgotten if you don't know where to look. A long time ago 200,000 years ago a battle that would forever change the way the world was. The Battle of The Obsidian Sea was a battle that would take place in what is known as the dragon lands. Creatures long forgotten to time had fought for years and years turning the once lush and prosperous land into nothing but a never ending Sea of Obsidian and ash. The land was caught in a never ending war for control over the Volcanic kingdom. A single dragon stood at the hill over looking an entire army of other dragons as this little dragon was one of the strongest in all history. Two more figures came next to him. The one on the left was named Interceptor a pony instead of a dragon. Its jaw split into two halves as he snapped them together making growling noises as his bladed tail slapped the ground. The one on the right named was Jason and he was a dragon with black scales and a dark maroon under belly like the smaller one in the middle. As the middle one's name was Shadow Demon. The strongest Demon of all of them. Unbeatable, showed no mercy to his targets, brutally killing his victims, and most importantly he never lost a fight. After only an hour the entire army was dead and the volcanic Kingdom Belonged to the fire dragons now. The Shadow Demon one day got into a fight with another demon named Null. his power could match that of Shadow demon's own but, Null was no match, until he did one last task. he was sent into the void where Shadow Demon would forever lay dormant in deep deep sleep forever drifting in the emptiness of its blackened world. Author's Note I know this one is short but, i have reason for it. The next one will be way longer
Chapter 3: UnleashedPonyville was in a blaze while half Canterlot had fallen from its perch, killing almost half of its residents. other settle ments were in ruins after The element of shadow claimed his thrown over equestria and beyond. The planet soon became lifeless. vaults were built under ground as diamond dogs helped the ponies create these. Everypony, dragon, diamond dog, and griffon banded together to form the Equestrian Militia. Twilight Sparkle and her friends where standing before Umbra as he laughed outloud in delight. "You think even with your precious Elements YOU CANT STOP ME. Not even my sisters could so makes you any different." Umbra said in a mocking tone. "We have no bitterness to you only confrontation to stop you Umbra. Your tyranny ends here Umbra." Twilight said. "Bring it." Umbra said as he let out an ear splitting battle cry as he charged at the main six as the rainbow beam came down upon him with a bright flash, everything went black. 4 Days Earlier Blacklight was waiting at the front of the castle doors waiting for him to show up. He was like a little brother to him. well then again, Twilight has a similar case. He suddenly heard a knock on the castle doors and opened it to find princess Celestia standing there. "Hay, put me down you over grown horse." a childish voice said and saw a young colt wearing a pony skull on his head with his coat being black, while having grey fire decals going across his body. He also had a reptile tail instead of a pony tail. His mane gave off red a green flame as his eyes were nothing but purple orbs in his soulless eyes. After that insult some ponies gasped at his insult. “mortem, mind not insulting the pony that agreed to get you out of Tartarus?” Blacklight said. “Blacklight?” Mortem yelped as he wiggled in Celestia’s hold on him. “Can you put him down please?” Blacklight said flatly. “He is now under your custody.” Celestia said putting Mortem down. Mortem quickly ran over to Blacklight hugging his foreleg. Soon he turned and gave Celestia an angry glare. With some annoying discussion Celestia finally left. Mortem stuck close to Blacklight smiling the entire time making his way with him to the map room. Where the main six were waiting for the surprise he had called them for. Blacklight soon walked in with a odd looking pony nestled between his wings. Looking at the castle and eventually to the map of Equestria. “A map of Equestria? How much of it have you burned? What was or is the death toll? Tell me tell me tell me!!” Mortem started but was silenced by Blacklight by holding his hoof up. “We made a deal with Celestia not to burn settlements down like we used to. Understand?” Blacklight said making Mortem put his head down. “Now these are the Elements of Harmony. To be honest not the smartest of the bunch but, they get the job done.” Which earned a angry glare from all of them. Mortem tried to climb up onto the table his little legs being to small. He felt pressure under his rump and found himself being lifted up onto the map. He looked at the map in in fascination touching everything. He wanted to touch everything but was pick up by Twilight. Earning her a death glare from Blacklight that basically said ‘if you don’t put him down I will kill you’. Which made Twilight give a light chuckle before floating him over to Blacklight who step forward a little to put himself in front of Mortem. “Well darling aren’t you going to introduce him to us?” Rarity said. “His name is death or preferably to be named Mortem. He was my friend during our glory days of burning and killing an...” he was cut off by Mortem. “And it was really really really fun. We would zip and zoom away from guards and sometimes even kill them. I miss those days.” Mortem said only to see that everyone but Blacklight look disturbed by the fact. “Anyway, Mortem is my charge and if anypony lays a hoof on him you will face my wrath Element of Harmony or not, you will answer to me. And you don’t go lying about it all because you don’t like somepony.” Blacklight said earning a furious nod from Mortem and the others. “No then I have some catching up to do.” Blacklight said floating Mortem onto his back where the would make their leave. As they walked through the market Mortem looked around in heavy fascination. Excited to be out of his prison. He soon wiggled on his back trying to get comfortable on his back. Mortem started to sniff the air until he looked at Blacklight. “You contacted him again didn’t you?” Mortem said. “Yes and I needed his help with something and that’s all.” Blacklight said. “But why he is a complete dick.” Mortem said “True but, he is the reason why you are here.” Blacklight said. “Where are we even going.” Mortem asked which caused a smile to appear on Blacklight’s face. “scholae.” Blacklight said which made Mortem’s pulps shrink the pin pricks. “No, please no not again.” Mortem pleaded “You think I had a choice? Celestia said you had too.” Blacklight said “and do not use that form switch to your normal pony form please?” Blacklight finished. Soon he turned and found a pony with the same coat and everything even the tail except his mane and tail were a dark blue. “That works now you need to get registered.” Blacklight said. After a long and painfully long time of doing paper work and Mortem was supposed to start the next day. Blacklight only ever complained when he was the one in deep trouble which was a lot. After that they both noticed that the sun was going down over the horizon and they started to head back to the castle of friendship. When Blacklight stopped for a second he closed his eyes let his dark magic take over him making his eye start to glow green. “Blacklight what is the problem? Who needs an ass kicking.” Mortem said as Blacklight finally spoke. “hoc valere. He has awoken.” Blacklight said before picking Mortem and putting him onto his back and took off running towards the castle. Bucking the door open to the library making Twilight jump clinging to the ceiling. “Twilight get your friends, now!” Blacklight said which only made her confused. Eventually she gathered all of her friends and all met in the map room where they found Blacklight had turned the Equestrian map with dark magic and a Mortem floating even though he did not have any wings. “We have a big problem.” Blacklight said flatly without even looking at them. He picked up a symbol that had been written on a piece of parchment. “Have you ever heard of the Dark Ages?” Blacklight asked. “Um no why?” Twilight asked. “The very being that caused it may have awoken.” Blacklight said. “You Elements of Harmony are about to fight your equal or opposite whatever floats your boat.” Blacklight said before they started to explain the story of the Legend of the Element of shadow and how he was supposed to be harmony’s opposite to balance it out. When they all heard a roar so loud that Luna’s Royal canterlot voice would be dwarfed by how loud it was. “He is here.” Blacklight said before everything went down from there. Author's Note HAHAHAHAHA.......oh um hi.......oh yes an authors note, yes that...oh I got it. FYI Mortem means death. This chapter will hopefully be longer than the rest if not then that means I am saving the rest for something special. For Interceptor I am working on art for him so it will make things easier for me.

Memory Part 1“Sisters, I know we mother and father have trusted us with him but, do we have to he reeks disharmony.” Loyalty said as the group glared at the sleeping drake that laid next to Kindness. “And how is an element of shadow supposed to be harmonious anyway?” Loyalty finished. “We must honor Mother’s wishes and uphold Father’s rules.” Generosity said letting out a groan and walked over to kindness. “Kindness can we have a word?” Magic said as she let her horn connect their minds together. “I don’t like this we should not be taking care of something that causes death. Why is that even harmony?” Honesty said Magic actually knew this one and spoke up but kindness beat her to it. “It is to keep order in a life cycle to prevent any of something from growing to big he will learn like we did to use his element for good and not for evil as long as we show him the care and compassion he needs and deserves. Also, he is kinda cute.” Kindness said looking back at the disapproving glares of her sisters. As they turned to leave she noticed that the young element was looking at her in worry as he tried to Bury himself into her fur. She let out a laugh as let out a purring noise and started to go back to sleep. “Don’t worry about them they’ll come around and look at you they way I see you.” Kindness said. After walking over to a crib she laid the sleeping mass in it and slowly walked away. Letting out a sigh she turned around only to meet her sister’s angry glares. “Why must you be so bitter to him he is just a child what could he do? We are to care for him no matter what he is it’s our job to care for him. We must be there for him and I for one do not want to face father’s wrath.” She said which made their glares soften a little. “But he is still an element of disharmony how is he going to help us if not get in the way.” Loyalty said. “Well you can think what you want to think I am going to abide by Father and Mother’s wishes but, if you want to face their wrath you can.” She said as she walked away from the group and to her quarters of the new world they had given life to. They had found a world to call their own like the Father and Mother had created their domain and as a gift Shadow was given to them to hold dear as they said he was important. But for what she did not know all she did know that she would protect Shadow even if it was from her sisters but, she would hope it would not come to that. She did not under stand why they did not like him if Father and Mother said that he was important than they must have their reasons. She never argued with them because of what Father would do but, she would do as she was told even if her sisters would not. Author's Note This is how the memories will work being short and simple so not to drag it on so you can try to figure how the memories go and in what order cause they are not in order.
