I stop typing and on instinct and tap the backspace button until the letters are gone. I glance at the clock and thankfully it shows that work is almost over. I then hear the woman two cubicles away from me singing again and sigh. The clock strikes noon and I start home. The leaves on the trees are varying shades of orange, red, and yellow. I smile, I’ve always loved autumn. But today something is different. Today I decide to take the long way home, I pull my gloves on tighter as the cool October wind chills me. Then three things happen. 3 things that change my life forever…
1. I see the box.
2. I go closer to the box.
3. I look in the box.
A box in the middle of the sidewalk? That was definitely not something I had seen since I moved from London to Oklahoma. I take another step towards the box and look inside. I gasp and take a step back in shock.
No, I think, it can’t be... it’s impossible... Isn’t it? I cautiously look back in the box. Yes it’s definitely real, the colorful blob of lavender, indigo, and pink.

It’s another typical day at work. Heck in a cubicle. I sit typing up some random draft that my boss has demanded. I start to sing “Feel Like a Monster” by Skillet. I hear someone a few cubicles away groan. ‘HATERS GONNA HATE!!” I shouted to the random groaning person. I see the boss look at me. I feel my face flush. “Well, forget you too.” I murmur. Forget the world. I just want to go home and watch My Little Pony. Yes, I’m twenty-two and watch My Little Pony. Haters gonna hate. I am driving home, taking off my tie, my shoes, wiping my lipstick off with my hand. And for some reason, my car breaks down three miles from my house. Grrrr. So, I get out and begin to walk. And I get this weird feeling. I turn towards the sewer hole at the edge of the street. I walk over to it, as if in a dream. I look down inside. And what I see, what I see, takes my breath away. I try to ignore the loud, boisterous singing of the woman about two cubicles away from me. Followed by a groan and a loud “HATERS GONNA HATE” from the singer. I glance nervously at the clock, just wanting to go home and curl up in bed and watch my little pony, all the while wishing I could have my own little fluttershy to cuddle and help me around the house. Perhaps fluttershy is my favorite because we’re exactly the same. Finally the clock announces that its time to go home and I’m driving home when I see a box in the sidewalk, thinking it’s some poor little animal, I stop my car and look in the box and I take a step back and give a small squeal in shock. I look into the box again realizing my animal theory was half correct, for in the box is…

I am working on a very long draft. It takes me a while to finish, and when I’m done, I just kind of sit there swinging my legs and brushing the blonde hair from my eyes. “Hello freckle-face.” The tall woman in the cubicle in front of me whispers. “Ugh. What is your problem, Tabitha?” She makes sure the boss isn’t looking and she gives me a very rude hand gesture. I crinkle my nose and get back to my work. I hear singing. “If it’s all the same to you sugar cube, I need to concentrate.” I say to the singer. “So do I, so I would appreciate it if you would not interrupt me.” Ugh. What’s with jerks today? When work ends, I begin the 20 mile drive to my home. On the way home, something on the side of the road catches my eye, a big, brown box. I pull over. “Golly, what do we have here.” I peer inside the box and I find the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my entire life. Inside the box, is Applejack.

I’ve just had an idea when I realize it’s time to go home. I don’t exaggerate when I say I waltz to my car, and drive home humming happily (well you’d be happy to if it was a whole weekend of dress designing and watching my little pony!) when I see a rather drab brown box on the side of the road. Naturally when I see something drab or dull in this world I feel it is my duty as a fashionista to fix it in any way I can. As fate would have it I decide to look in the box and see possibly the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my twenty-two year old life inside the box is…

It was another dull day to make happy in my own way. First, I made my hair extra curly so it bounces when I walk. Then, I put on my favorite pink blouse and cardigan and top and skirt and headband.
