Darkness Reveals

"Professor Fossil, are you sure you want to check in person? The Princess made a point of preventing any citizen from getting even close to the fall zone."

The Royal guard asked the teacher as they walked, the old gray mare, looked at him with humor as they walked down the trail.

"Oh my dear, thank you for the concern, I may be old, however, no mountain or cave shall stand between me and one new discovery!"

The Guard would have a light laugh with the archeologist's animation, she had a lot of energy for her age, but he would not go to her, being chosen personally by the Princess to investigate the fall site of the mysterious and sudden asteroid.

The subject became the main theme of all the newspapers in Equestria, as it almost hit Canterlot by an inch, and the princesses did nothing to at least calm or alert the people, but fortunately for the citizens, he fell far away, now this expedition had formed to check the crash site for studies.

Then a noise of something falling on the floor hit them, both stopping and looking back, they could see a human lying on the floor with a handful of climbing items, desperately trying to get up and pick up the fallen things.

The royal guard looked with bored eyes at the Mare behind them.

"Night Glider, stop slacking and make sure the monkeys don't buck our things!"

The dark blue Mare flinched with the guard's sudden outburst, but soon after composing herself, she nodded, using her whip that was stuck in her belt, she hit a few times behind the human, who screamed in pain with each hit on his scarred back.

"Move you damn no fur's! We don't have all day you piles of trash!"

The group of slaves would hurry, stumbling over each other, afraid that they would be the next to receive a severe hit from their masters.

The royal guard rolled his eyes as he returned to the professor's side, who he had noticed signs of discomfort in and put his hand on her shoulder in concern.

"Ma'am? You alright?"

She would look at the guard and slowly at the slaves being whipped, and she would tremble a little, placing her hand on her head and quickening her steps.

"N-nothing, l-let's j-just keep g-going..."

The Guard would look at her confused, surprised by the reaction of sudden discomfort, however, shrugging that aside, he continued marching along the group towards the forest and the huge cloud of black smoke that was forming.

"I'm telling you Tia, I didn't know!"

Celestia would look at her angrily while staying seated on her majestic golden throne, surrounded by guards and with the most elegant decorations for her please, Luna had her clothes all tucked up with her hair really messy, clearly looked that she woke up in a hurry, she would be in a bad mood if she wasn't scared by the sudden anger of her normally calm sister, especially after being called in an hurry to the throne room.

"Tia, you know as well as I do! The spell I use for the stars is just an illusion spell! Pony's might think it's my fault, but I did absolutely nothing! Natural disasters are not my work!"

Celestia would just sigh while leaning her back on the throne and placing a hand on her face.

"I know Luna.... But how could you not see it before?
You always notify me when a meteor shower might occur, or when you create one."

Luna hugged herself as she looked away in embarrassment.

"I-i r-really don't know.... I just noticed the meteorite forming when it was already entering the atmosphere.... It's like it formed on top of us and immediately felt.... I don't know how.... "

Celestia thoughtfully placed her thumb and index finger on her chin before looking back at her sister.

"Do you think it could have been... By outside influence?"

The moon goddess would just look shocked at her sister

"You can't be serious Tia...."

Celestia would just roll her eyes

"Of course I am serious! We have to think of all the possibility's! Probably some of our enemy's may have done this just to harm our subjects!"

Luna's eyes just opened more and more with each sentence Celestia said, completely shocked

"Celestia! You can't be serious! Are you listening yourself?? You can't start pointing hooves at the others! Buck, it maybe even a normal comet that we just missed it!"

The sun monarch would just shake her head from side to side in a negative way

"Luna liste-"

Luna would cut Celestia with a sudden outburst of rage.

"NO! YOU LISTEN!"

The sun goddess would be taken back by her sisters sudden rage and use of the canterlot voice.

"You've been paranoid like that since the subjugation of humans! You are always ignoring your advisers! Always suspicious of others! Buck Tia! You arrested a reporter for simply criticizing you! You are becoming a tyrant! Don't you see??"

Celestia would be shocked by the anger her sister would be in, and by the things she had said, changing from shock to anger, clenching her fist, she would hit the arm of the chair hard.

"STOP THIS NOW LUNA! I WON'T TOLERATE THAT TONE WITH ME! You know very well that most of the things I do are for the good of my people! And not from my image!"

Luna would just grit her teeth and tighten her fists, Celestia didn't see it, but behind the adoration of the citizens, she was afraid, afraid to disappoint her, afraid to feel her fury, since the day when humans, or the 'no Fur's' were defeated, Celestia has been more and more on the edge, fear and tension emanated from her, fear of how she was seen by her people, even if she didn't show it, and fear of them being hurt, yes she cared for them, but more and more she acted in completely unacceptable ways for that, she already knew that when instead of purifying humans like she did with Changelings, she just enslaved them! She had already talked to her sister about it, but she had always dismissed it, justifying it as 'for their own sake', but she could do nothing...

Sighing and looking disappointed at her sister, she slowly walked out of the throne room, however, before she could leave, she stopped, something had been awakened, something very dark, darkness invaded the throne room like a wave invaded a beach.

Luna slowly looked at her sister, who looked shocked.

"You sensed it too..?"

"Impossible...."

The teacher would look in shock at the fall zone, the fall trail and the broken trees took her to a metal object, but that was not what scared her the most, they were how they were symmetrical, how they were perfectly aligned...

This was not a meteor, it was something alien.

And it terrified her.

Any other researcher would love to discover something alien, to be credited for a discovery that would change the world, but for Fossil, this was not what she was afraid of, she was afraid of why something like that was there.

Why did it fall here? How did it fall here? Was it on purpose? What carries? What was it for? Who were the occupants?

That and many other questions that would not be answered anytime soon, and IF could be answered.

"What is impossible?"

She would still look shocked at the Royal guard and his unimpressed expression.

"T-this is n-not f-from our world...."

She would say while slowly kneeling down and picking up a piece of the wreckage formed by the fall, the metal object was still partially broken, but its symmetrical shape could still be seen in the metal wreck, it was very resistant, whatever it was.

The Royal Guard would look at the wreckage and the returned teacher and would say shrugging.

"Well... obviously! It came from space after all...."

She would not take her eyes off the piece of metal, which had.... Reddish and blue lines, ignoring the sound of the guard receiving a light slap on the head by her colleague, letting out a low "hey!"

THUMP

Everyone would flinch with the noise that suddenly appeared from the rubble, the teacher slowly stood up.

THUMP

Now she could see, from a part of the wreckage, with a tiny black folding that formed a circle, it formed a dent, from the inside.

THUMP, THUMP

Another, and another.

With each beat, everyone around, slave and Pony, slowly moved away, while the teacher continued to look, horrified.

Somepon- no, something was inside of it.

Celestia.... What could they do...?

And finally, after a long time of tension that seemed to them hours, a final 'THUMP' was made, with a piece of the debris thrown away.

Everyone lowered themselves on instinct while the piece hit hard, and knocking down a tree that had it stopped the flying piece, they could only look at the damage for an instant, when noises coming from the wreckage could be heard again, everyone could just look in total chock while one big cloud smoke came out of it.

And out of it, one enormous shadow appeared from the smoke.

The guards were all with weapons drawn, not knowing what to expect to come out of the wreckage.

And then, one breathing, one of the most terrifying things the Professor would ever heard in her life, and would haunt her for the rest of her days.
