A Runner's slimming lifespan.
I think I'm finally cracking.
He's finally getting to me. After all of these years of running, murder, Psychological, and Physical torture...He's finally getting me...
Oh, how rude of me. I forgot to introduce myself. Not like you'll be knowing me very much longer anyway.
My name is Mathew Jex and I am a Runner. Last I checked I'm 17 years old, due to be 18 in 3 months, 5'8, dark blue eyes, very average skinny white nerd build, short black hair with dark brown highlights, born and raised in southern Virginia, wearing dark blue Wire-frame glasses, A Black and grey digital watch, a light gray hoodie with my runner 'symbol' on the back and both shoulders to protect me from Him, a black Volcom T-shirt, black sweatpants, A small blue backpack with a few Items, and a pair of white Adidas track shoes for, you guessed it, running.
If you're wondering what the hell I'm talking about than you obviously don't know who we are. We are The Runners, Thousands upon thousands of people who are constantly running from Him. When we write something we use Him instead of His real name so if anyone not infected reads it doesn't get infected by the curse that allows Him to...STALK...you.
There are 3 types of Runners. The Sages, Runners who have special powers against Him, such as being invisible to Him for a period of time. Then there's Warriors, they're Runners who all have the ability to actually hurt Him at any time. Finally........you have people like me. We are the generic, run of the mill, Runners. Us normal Runners have no powers or advantages to our names whatsoever, all we do is run...and run.....AND RUN!

Sorry, lost my composure for a second. But as I was saying, normal Runners don't have anything special. No matter what we will die. Some of us very soon, others not until this ends. But we do have three special rules most of us follow to stay alive longer.
Get to high places- He's not to smart for one. He seems to not recognize us as human when we are on something that is taller than him.
Keep Moving- You can't stay in one place forever, food, water, etc. Plus He WILL wise up to you if you stay on one building/roof/water tower for too long.
Finally, keep your eyes open- He himself can't get you if he's not right next to you and you're watching Him or thinks you're watching Him....if your sanity can hold up looking. His buddies though......let's just say proxies don't care about these rules.
I'm currently moving (By way of walking and running) from New York State to Pennsylvania, hoping to throw him off me for another week or two. I'm pretty sure that I'm the Runner that's been doing this the longest. I've been doing this since I was fourteen so that's 3 years, almost four. Most others have died or have recently started. Sadly I'm running out of states so I'll have to skip country soon...Meh.

Fuck. I walked into a wooded area without realizing it. Another rule most Runners follow is Stay away from large groups of trees. He seems to use these as transport and mind..mind...mind..mind.............

You know what.... I'm going past him. I won't stop running until the forest is gone and I find the next city....Shit, lets do this...if only Leroy were here....I could die with some comedy...
When I passed Him I could feel my sanity being sucked dry when He 'looked' at me with his 'face'. The fear and adrenaline made me run that much faster through the forest. But as I felt a tentacle lightly graze me that sent me into overdrive. At the time I didn't notice the trees and flora change from the pines in this are to these strange canopy like trees or the slight ringing in my head when He's near go away, the adrenaline blocking it out in the first place with its ringing and my heart pounding.
As I broke through the Tree-Line and spun around multiple times to make sure I'm safe, I saw something I would never forget...

Applejack, a farm mare with Emerald eyes, a blonde mane and tail, and sporting a brown stetson on her head, was bucking apples in the part of the fields near the Everfree Forest. She was always careful around here, always watching for any animals or monsters that would wander out occasionally.
As she was almost done with the current section of the orchard she was in, AJ saw something she had never saw before step out of the section of the forest directly next to her. A bipedal being, a foot and a half taller than her, which seemed to be wearing clothing of some sort with a symbol on it. Due to the hood over it's head she couldn't tell that it had a terrified look on it's face. But she could tell it was looking at her.
Applejack yelped, got scared, and turned to kick it...

...I let out a pathetic squeak after this...thing...hit me in my jewels...ow....and promptly fell onto my knees and dry heaved multiple times before I saw the accursed, child killing, legs of doom coming for my head...

Twilight Sparkle, A lavender colored unicorn mare with a dark purple mane and tail, both having a singular stripe of both a lighter purple and hot pink, was walking towards Sweet Apple Acres to buy some apples. Applejack or her brother, Big Macintosh, not being in the town market worrying her slightly.
When she got near the Apple family's house and barn she saw Applejack rush out of the barn looking worried and frightened.
"Thank Celestial you're here Twi'! I was bucking some trees in the fields near Everfree when this...this....THING, came outta the forest and looked at me! I swear Twi', I have never seen anythin' like it in my life. I knocked it out and tied it up in the barn, I was 'bout to come over and get ya but you're here now. So come on!" Applejack said tiredly while trotting towards the barn.
Twilight was confused but followed anyway.
What she saw shocked her. A bipedal being laying on its stomach wearing some sort of clothing, a hood over its head, with a symbol on it. ...that symbol....I swear I've seen it somewhere...Twilight thought while she looked at the creature. She also noticed a small pack laying beside it.
"Hey Applejack, what's that?" Twilight asked while pointing her hoof at the pack
"I don't know but it looks like a saddle bag made for it to carry." AJ answered.
"*gasp* AJ! I think it's starting to wake up! I'll get a binding spell ready in case it's hostile!"

Oh my god my everything, it hurts. Especially two certain areas... I let out a groan as I rolled off of what I assumed was a hay bale.....onto the cold ground.... Is it wrong this isn't the first time this has happened? I'm pretty sure it is.
"Damn it why does this always happen to me!" I half moaned half yelled. I heard a sharp intake of breath behind me.
"Twilight! It can talk!" I heard a southern accent say behind me.....aw crap baskets.
"....yes..I know..I heard it too..." I heard another, slightly agitated voice. I turned my head to see A purple blur and an orange blur..orange.....orange......OH CRAP! I scooted myself to the farthest corner with my hands protecting my junk with their lives while I said, "You are NOT, hitting me where a male should never be hit again!" I haphazardly said.
"Where a male shouldn' be hit.......oh sweet Celestia...." Said the orange blur in a sudden state of realization.
'I need to find my glasses....AHA!' I scooted over to my pack which had my glasses. Put them on...ponies. Cool story bro, tell it another time. It is now time for inventory check.
Combat/Utility knife. Check.
Duck Tape. Check.
10 packs of skittles....I didn't put those there.....
Scratched but still functional I-Pod and ear-buds for said I-Pod? Check.
Rape whistle. Check (Most important on the list).
Note pad of one liners used to piss Him off. Trololol check.
And hallelujah nothing was taken from me. This is a first. Now back to the bro's cool story.
