So this is embarassing.

I had lost all of my writing on this particular fic a month or so back and I failed to realize it up until now as of April 7th, 2022. And now, I can't recover the second part for Amore. It's gone forever.

I am terribly sorry. This is literally the first time something like this happened to me. I don't even know how I lost it.

As such, I lack the inspiration to really recreate all of the progress I had made, and I had waited a very long time since the last chapter anyway. So... I'm sorry, but this fic is done. Dead in the water, as they say.

Read it, by any means, hate it if you want, I encourage your feedback. But don't expect updates.

Everything comes to a head in the continent of Equus.

After many decades of infighting, the High Queen Chrysalis finds herself in a position of power unlike that of her neighbors. Her grip on all things political and diplomatic was supreme to any other Changeling—that much was certain. But after her embarrassing failure that was in Canterlot, there are rumors of dissent and revolt whispered amongst the Changeling High Command.

Just across the borders from the Hives, the kingdom of Olenia is experiencing severe strife within their nation. Greed has led the noble-deer astray to a life of debauchery and gluttony--the spearhead of this development being king Johan himself. Due to their arrogance and corruption, Velvet—considered by few to be the rightful heir to the throne—is finding herself running out of options... and time.

Time passes; years go by. Equestria is now at war.

In the Crystal Empire, the nightmares of war threaten the heart of the Empire. With the Crystal City besieged and the Royal Family evacuated, morale is low among the troops. Soldiers on both sides of the conflict are suffering greatly. As the battle deteriorates beyond all sense of reason, so too do their strategies; their allegiances; their hopes; their love.

Far North to the ice-cold shores of Ditrysium, a battalion of changelings is left to help defend a garrison that is doomed to be overrun. The port city is guaranteed to fall, but yet they still fight. As what seems like certain death approaches the city, one Changeling soldier finds himself defending the last of his queen's empire without any sign of victory. In the face of these suicidal odds, many changelings dissent hoping to surrender. He is tasked to kill any traitors. But is he able?
