A Colorful Getaway

This morning I would have peacefully woken up to the bright sun, birds singing a tune, and hardly a cloud littering the beautiful, blue sky. However, there was no sun and I was awoken by the crackling of thunder like it was singing a sour note into my ears.

I popped my eyes open and tried to adjust my blurry vision to the darkened room. The clouds blocked off any light that tried to enter our dwelling space, except for the flash of lightning. I felt something rustle in the bed next to me. I lifted the covers slightly to reveal Rainbow Dash holding onto my arm but still fast asleep through the rolls of thunder and the flashes of lightning.

I wrapped my free arm around the cute little pegasus and pulled her into my body, letting her snuggle into my bare chest. Her fur tickled my naked pectorals, but I’ve grown to deal with the prickly feeling. I could feel warm, humid air escape her nostrils, flowing across my body as she took deep, calm breaths. It was sort of surprising that this little mare was able to sleep through all of this noise. Though she does work at the Weather Factory, so this is nothing new to her.

As I held her small figure tightly, I felt her rustle in my grasp. When I looked down to make sure she was okay, two beautiful rosy-magenta eyes were open and staring at me. I smiled at her and she smiled back, licking my lips as a sign that she was indeed fully awake. "Mornin' Luke," she said. Her voice still had a hint of weariness, but her eyes were lively and radiant. I planted a gentle kiss on her forehead through a parting in her rainbow mane that still seemed to glisten and shine with bright, beautiful colors despite there not being any sunlight to shine down on it.

"Morning to you too," I responded. I wanted to get up, but the current position I was in prevented me from moving a muscle and breaking the comfort. I sniffed Rainbow's mane to take in her aromatic, lavender scent...but all I got was the stench of sweat, semen, and musk. I rolled over, nearly throwing up my meal from last night, and I think I saw my life flash before my eyes for a bit before I realized where I was. "Holy fuck, Dash!" I leaped out of the bed and kept my back against the wall and away from her stench. "When was the last time you took a shower?" I didn't want to be rude, but there was no way I could tell her lightly about what I was smelling.

The oblivious mare lifted a fore-hoof and smelt under her armpit. She didn't scrunch up her face or react appropriately. She just looked at me and shrugged. "I dunno what you're talking about?" she responded casually. "You sure it's not you?" I looked at her like she just lost her damn mind.

"Yes, I'm sure it's not me!" I exclaimed. I am not a morning person, so this situation ruined the fine, comfortable morning I was having a minute ago. "Just go take a shower!"

She rolled her eyes and groaned. "Fine, but you're coming with me," she demanded. I was going to interject, but then I smelled the same stench that was emanating from Rainbow, coming from me. I guess I could use a morning shower too.

"Damnit, fine." I complied with Rainbow's request and walked into the bathroom with her. I turned the shower on at a comfortable level for both of us before we stepped in to rinse off our disgusting body odor. I immediately poured a handful of lavender shampoo and began rubbing Rainbow's coat and mane.

"Hey, watch it!" she exclaimed. I didn't realize how rough I was being with her. I went ahead and rubbed her coat with less force. "Th-that's better."

"Sorry about that Dash," I apologized. "I just really can't stand that odor coming from you. Why didn't you just take a bath after we *ahem* worked out yesterday?" Of course, she fell asleep right after we fucked in the gym, but I thought she'd take responsibility and clean up after herself.

"Well, I was tired and I wanted to sleep after you did me so good." I blushed at that compliment. Usually, Rainbow Dash isn't so forward with compliments like these. I guess she's getting used to doing stuff like this. "Also, if I smell so bad, does that mean I taste bad?" I didn't have a chance to ask what she meant by that before I was met by a passionate kiss to the lips.

I didn't try to break away since her scent was clearing up. Her smell was being washed off and was being replaced by the lavender shampoo as it imbedded into her fur. The taste that lingered in her mouth was fruity and sweet like drinking a fresh, tropical smoothie. We finally broke our kiss, letting ourselves catch a breath before we continued our bath.

"Maybe wait, until after we take our shower?" I asked. Rainbow placed her fore-hooves on my shoulders and gazed at me seductively.

"Aw, please?" She sounded desperate like she wanted this. I know it can't be from heat, because I just rutted her yesterday. She gave me pouty, cute eyes to try and wiggle her way into my feelings. It should have taken a lot more than that to make me give in, but unfortunately, it wasn't.

I sighed in defeat. I thought I could overcome her cuteness, but sadly, I failed. "Alright, if you want it that bad..." I planted another kiss on her lips, savoring her taste and taking in the various flavors that resided in her oral cavity. There was the sweet, fruity flavor from earlier along with a hint of a vegetable taste from her meal last evening. I reached one arm around and rubbed the nape of her neck with my fingernails, feeling her tense up as pleasure began to flow through her. I broke the kiss to nibble on her ear. She released a breathy moan as sensations from her neck and her ear traveled throughout her body.

"O-oh, fuck," Rainbow mumbled as her mind was being numbed with pleasure. "Where did you learn to do that?" she asked. I released her ear, the spot of spit was washed away by the water pouring down from the showerhead.

"It was kind of by instinct," I explained. "I just thought I'd try out some foreplay before we go straight to the action." I wasn't sure if Rainbow would approve of this since she's usually used to doing things quickly and to the point. Instead of disapproval, she leaned in and licked my lips with affection and smiled.

"Well come on then," she said, rubbing my groin with her hoof, "let's keep—" before she could finish her request, a loud crash of thunder resonated through the room and the lights went out, placing us in complete and total darkness. "LUKE!?" I heard Rainbow Dash scream my name through the void, but I couldn't see her or anything.

"Hold on Dash, let me—OW!" I slammed my face into what must have been the shower door. I reached my arms out to make sure I didn't bump into anything. I searched aimlessly around the bathroom for a flashlight or a candle or something to lighten up the room. My hands rested on a wall and after moving them around, I could feel a switch. I tried pressing it but nothing happened. So the electricity is completely cut out.

"Luke? Where are you!" Rainbow was getting more distressed every second she was not in my presence.

"Just wait a minute Rainbow. Damnit, don't fancy places like these have a backup—" As if by the forces of the universe had read my thoughts beforehand, the lights came back on, but only dimly lit. I could see everything now but in a dim, orange glow.

I looked back to the shower where Rainbow Dash should be waiting for me, but instead, she was cowering in the corner of the shower. I could see water streaming down her eyes, but there was no water running at the moment. She was sniffling and trembling with fear. Was she crying? I hurried over to the discomforted pegasus and hugged her tightly. I could feel her hot tears landing my shoulder. Her breathing was haggard and quivering. I brushed my fingers through her mane and gently whispered into her ear. "It's okay, Dash. I'm here and I'm not going anywhere, I promise."

She pulled back and looked at me with tear-filled eyes. “Sorry, Luke,” she apologized, “This whole week I’ve been growing closer to you, and I don’t want to leave you...and...I don’t know! Celestia, I’m being such a sap right now, huh?” She looked away from me in her shameful state. I wanted to lightly slap this cute pegasus in the face right now for asking something so ridiculous.

“Dash, you’re not being sappy,” I said, hugging her tightly. “You’re just being normal is all. You’re just showing a lot more emotion than you usually do and that’s okay. Just know that I won’t leave your side, no matter what.” She didn’t look up. She just hugged me tighter until I could actually feel her strength. “Let’s finish up here and get something to eat, huh?”

Rainbow just responded with a soft moan. I finished scrubbing her body and we finally dried off. As I made my way to our luggage to pick out a fresh set of clothes, I heard some chatter coming from the outside. Other ponies are here? Rainbow Dash must have noticed this too because she stopped dead in her tracks and perked her ears up. They panned around like satellite dishes, listening for the source of the noise and what they were saying.

“Wait, those voices sound familiar,” Rainbow whispered as she listened in. As the voices got closer to our door, I could tell they were a couple: one mare and one stallion.

“Do you think she’s still here?” asked the mare. Her voice was full of energy and high pitched.

“Of course she is,” replied the stallion. His voice was deep but energetic like the mare’s. “Do you really think she’d be out and about in this crazy weather? Oh, wait, this must be their room. Ooh, and it’s in the VIP sector! That’s our Dash, only the best for the best!”

How did these ponies know about Rainbow Dash? Well, everyone knows about the amazing Rainbow Dash and her awesome feats. But the big question is how did they know she was staying here in this resort, in this room? A knock came from the door, startling me and Dash, although we knew the couple was already out there. “Hello? Anypony home?” the mare asked in a cheery voice. I looked over to my mare-friend to see her face petrified with fear.

“Oh no,” was all she managed to get out. I wasn’t sure what was going on here, but I managed to put on some clean clothes and answer the door in her stead. I was greeted by a pegasus couple who looked awfully familiar. The mare was middle-aged with a short, vibrant orange mane. Her coat was faded with age, but it looked similar to that of a clear, blue sky. Her burly companion was the one that really grabbed my attention. His coat was pale indigo and his build was rather robust for most stallions, but his mane...was a stylish rainbow mohawk.

Their smiles seemed contagious and although I knew who they were, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of dread welling up in my gut.

“Wow, you are a tall one,” the stallion commented. He grabbed my hand with both hooves and shook it with so much force, I thought my arm was going to dislocate. “Pleased to meet ya, the name’s Bow Hothoof!” He kept shaking my hand even as he spoke. I could see the mare still smiling brightly and prancing in place.

"My name is Windy Whistles," the mare added. She grabbed my other hand and began shaking it with the same vigorous force as her husband did. "Our little Rainbow Dash has told us so much about you!" I looked back at Rainbow Dash, who looked away while she blushed in embarrassment.

"Hi mom, hey dad."

Those few words killed me inside. I never expected to meet my love's parents, at least not so soon!

The couple's eyes lit up with excitement from seeing their daughter. But before either of them could speak, Rainbow grabbed the hem of my shirt and pulled me back into the room. She stood between me and her parents, almost like a protective guard dog.

"Give us a minute, we, uh, left the shower running. We'll be right back." Rainbow slammed the door right in her parent's faces.

I've never heard such a lame excuse, but in the midst of my shock, that would have been much better than anything I could have come up with in that situation. The situation where her parents are here. Visiting Rainbow Dash. Meeting me for the first time. Oh Gott im Himmel*, why?

Rainbow slapped me out of my fear-induced trance with a wing and grabbed my face with her hooves. "Luke, look at me," she whispered with authority. I complied. "Look, I know how to deal with my parents. Just follow my lead, and we should be able to enjoy our time here with only the two of us."

"So, you didn't invite them over?" Apparently there is such a thing as a stupid question.

Rainbow looked like she wanted to punch me this time. "Why the fuck would I invite my parents over if I wanted to take care of my heat? The reason I rented out this place was so that we could spend time together, just the two of us!" She sat down with a disheartened sigh.

I placed a hand on her shoulder for reassurance. "Look, we can just explain to them that we booked this getaway for ourselves and that we don't plan on doing much. Maybe they'll just stay for a quick visit, then they'll leave, and we can have the rest of the time to pick up where we left off." We eyed the door, surprised that her parents haven't barged in yet to see what's taking so long to turn off the shower. "I just hope I make a good impression."

She smiled at me. "You already did, ya big goof; you chose me as your mate." Her confidence in me boosted my morale and warmed my heart. She flew up so that she could lick a strand of my hair off to the side. She hovered back and nodded with approval. "Also, I'm sure they'll love you...because I do." I smiled at her and planted a gentle kiss on her forehead.

"Well then," I said, "let's go meet the family?" Rainbow nodded and we walked over to the door, ready to face her parents. I opened the door but we recoiled from a sudden flash of light. My vision was littered with tiny spots and I was trying to adjust my sight to see what the hell just happened.

"Ooh, that's a keeper!" I heard Windy say. As the light faded and my vision refocused, I saw Windy and Bow viewing a picture they took right when I opened the door. "You two look so cute together!" She showed us the picture, but it was far from cute: our expressions were distorted with shock. Our eyes bulged from the surprising flash, making us look like fish struggling to get back into water.

"At least give us a warning first, mom!" Rainbow grumbled as she rubbed her eyes.

Her parents completely disregarded her complaint and glanced over at me, eyeing me up and down with curiosity, still flashing those weird, unnatural smiles. I wonder if they were standing here with their camera ready and those grins still on their faces this whole time.

“Dear, aren’t you going to I traduces us to your special friend?” Windy asked.

Dash grumbled, Mom, you guys already know him. Plus, he’s not a friend, he’s...my mate.” I never thought this athletic pegasus could turn a deeper shade of red until now. Her head actually looked like a tomato sitting on the shoulders of some random blue pony.

“Of course we know him sweetie, but he doesn’t know us,” Bow gestured.

I decided to intervene before Rainbow melted into the floor out of embarrassment. I sucked in my crippling anxiety and introduce myself, “Hi, Luke Vaneer. It’s nice to finally meet Rainbow Dash’s parents.”

“It’s good to finally meet Rainbow’s special partner all this time,” Bow blurted.

“Have you two eaten yet? I don’t think there’s much to eat in here.” Windy tried to poke her head into the room, but Dash and I instinctively stepped into the hallway and closed the door behind us.

“I was just about to have dessert.” Rainbow flashed me a sly little smirk that made my stomach lurch Was she just trying to make me feel nervous because she was? So that’s how you wanna play, huh?

“What’s the matter, Luke? Bow asked. His cheerful face morphed into a look of confusion. “You look kind of pale.”

“Ah, nothing, nothing.” I’m glad they’re dense, or maybe they didn’t seem to understand the gesture. “I don’t think you two have gotten to eat since you arrived right? How about we head on down for some breakfast?”

Their faces lit up with excitement again. “You can cook?” they both asked in unison.

“I can, but...” I looked over at Rainbow Dash who seemed to know where this was heading. “...a certain somepony doesn't plan on eating a healthy meal while we’re here.” I flashed the betrayed pegasus a sinister grin, which her parents didn’t seem to notice.

“Sweetheart, I know you like to snack and eat out every once in a while, but it would be nice to enjoy a meal from your...er...colt-friend.” Her mother spoke with such calm authority, it was almost hard to believe that she was the same happy, excited, energized pony I met a few minutes ago.

Rainbow looked at me, then to her parents, then back to me, then back to her parents. “B-but I-what?” I almost felt bad for pulling that prank, but she kinda deserved it for putting that bit of fear into my heart from the beginning.

“No backtalk, missy. Come on, we’re heading over to the kitchen so Luke can prepare us a nice, healthy meal.” The couple turned around to walk towards the elevator, leaving me and Dash behind to look at each other. I looked down at her with the same smirk she showed me, while she had a rage filled expression on her face.

She whispered, “I’m gonna kill you,” before she walked away and after her parents. Good luck with that.

“Here ya go, fresh fluffy pancakes with blueberry syrup.” I placed four dishes down on the table for everyone to enjoy. Everyone including Rainbow Dash stared at their breakfast with surprise and awe. “Might want to hurry up before they get cold.” I took off my stained apron and sat down to enjoy my meal.

Bow was the first one to take a bite out of my creation. The second he closed his mouth, I saw his face light up as the pancake’s flavors spread throughout his tastebuds and palate. “This is amazing, Luke!” He exclaimed. He tossed aside his fork and dug into his meal like a starving animal. Everyone watched in horror and shock as the stallion eviscerated the dish, leaving only a puddle of syrup where the tower of pancakes used to be.

“Uh, thank you, sir. Wow.” I still marveled at his clear plate and wondered, did my cooking actually taste that good? Everyone else took small bites, letting the tastes and textures overflow their senses.

“So, Luke.” Bow grabbed my attention from my food. I looked at him with respect and fear, wondering what question he had in store for me. “What do you do for a living again?” Oh thank God, something simple.

“Uh, well, sir—“

“Please, call me dad.” I was not expecting this so soon. I hope I don’t fuck something up to make him regret giving me this privilege.

“Well, dad, I uh, work for the Ponyville Day Spa as a masseuse.”

“Really?” He seemed to be interested, that’s a good sign. “That sound like an interesting job. I’m guessing with your...er...what are they called again? Claws?”

What was Rainbow Dash writing to them about? How did she compare my fingers to claws? “Uh, fingers. Completely different than claws.”

“Riiiight, fingers. I’m guessing with those things work is pretty easy for ya.”

A memory popped up in my head. One that would probably embarrass Rainbow Dash so bad she would cease from teasing me throughout the rest of this visit. “Oh it is. A few days ago, Rainbow hurt her hind-legs while performing a ‘reckless’ stunt.” I glanced over at Rainbow Dash who didn’t look at me, but still began to blush. She tried her best to look normal while trying to eat her breakfast. “So, I worked my magic and she was well in no time.”

“Wow, sweetie, you have a pretty reliable partner,” Windy commented. “He could make a great husband.” I almost spat out my food, but that almost caused me choked on it instead. I looked at Rainbow with distress, but she was looking at me with the same awkwardness as me. As much as I’d love to marry this crazy mare, I think it may be a little early in our relationship.

“Say, how about some dessert?” I blurted, trying the disperse the awkward atmosphere that enveloped in the room. Everyone but Rainbow Dash nodded in agreement.

I entered the kitchen, silently rejoicing the fact that I was out of that awkward situation. I made my way to the fridge, hoping that there was some preserved snacks waiting in there. My prayers have been answered when I found a tray of pastries resting in the fridge. They still looked okay to eat. Don’t know how long they were in there for, but I’m sure it’s fine. I placed the treats in the microwave and reheated them. Nothing like freshly-microwaved snacks.

As I carried the tray of reheated pastries back to the group, everyponys’ heads perked up and they started sniffing the air, taking in the aromatic scent that flooded the room and taking their minds off their current conversation.

“Ooh, those smell heavenly!” Bow commented. His mouth began to water, as if the pancakes weren’t enough to satiate his hunger. “Are those cream-pies?”

“I think so,” I responded nervously. I hope my lack of pastry knowledge doesn’t put him off. “I just grabbed something and brought them over.”

“Oh, well I just love cream-pies,” Windy said as she took one from the tray. “Every wedding anniversary, Bow would always give me a great big, gooey, cream-pie. Isn’t that right, hun?” She’s nudged her partner who was already stuffing himself with...his second pie? When the hell did he grab the first one?

Windy’s comment struck me weird. I began to blush, but a huge knot of fear was tied in my gut from having so many memories flood my mind. I looked over at Rainbow Dash who seemed rather squeamish. I gently wrapped an arm around her, reassuring her in this current situation. She looked over at me, her face had a green tint in the midst of her blue fur.

“Are you okay Dash?” I asked. If she really wasn’t feeling well from these innuendoes, then I could get her out of here to let her catch a quick breath of fresh air.

“I-I’m *burp* I’m fine.” She definitely wasn’t fine.

“Rainbow Dash, are you sure? You don’t look so good,” Windy spoke with concern for her daughter.

“Dash come on, let’s go get you some fresh air.” I held onto the weak pegasus as I guided her over to the lobby and set her down on one of the couches. The air here was definitely a lot clearer and more breathable for some reason. “You better?”

She didn’t respond. She just laid her head down on my arm, her eyes slightly fluttering. It was the middle of the afternoon, and she’s already feeling tired. Though, it’s probably best if she got some rest anyway.

Bow and Windy came over and sat on the couch directly across from us. “It’s nice to know that Rainbow Dash has someone so compassionate and caring in he life. You know, somepony other than her parents,” Bow commented. He watched as his daughter’s eyes shut and she finally fell asleep with her head in my lap. I stroked her mane, letting her feel some comfort as she slumbered.

The rain continued to hammer the exterior of the resort. The water flowed down the windows, making the experience feel like being in a car wash back on Earth. Even though I miss being in a normal world, being amongst other humans, being with my family and friends, I would never have found this amazing, yet crazy pony. My life would have been in the gutters if it hadn’t been for her and her friends. But mostly her.

“Hey, kiddo, you okay?” Bow grabbed my attention from my mare-friend. I looked up at him and his wife as they looked at me with compassionate expressions. “I think your floodgates may have opened up a bit. Last thing we need is another storm inside the resort.

I didn't realize I was crying. I wiped away a hot tear and flicked it away like a raindrop. “S-sorry,” I apologized. “I’m just remembering all the good Rainbow Dash has brought into my life. Ever since I came to this new world, I never thought I’d fit in with all you ponies. But this little girl right here, we hit off the moment we met. She asked me my name, my hobbies, interests, even my favorite foods.” This time I could feel the waterworks coming, but I didn’t try to stop them. I just wiped them away so they didn’t land on the sleeping mare in my lap. “Ever since then, we’ve become great friends, then we ended up here. She’s done so much for me, unlike anyone else back on my home world. If it wasn’t for this awesome pegasus, I don’t think I’d make it here. I’ve always tried my best to help her and pay her back for what she’s done, but I know there’s nothing I could do to match the love and kindness she’s shown to me.”

I heard a sniffle coming from my in-laws. I looked up with tears still obscuring my vision to see them crying, even more than I was.

“You know,” Windy began, “we’ve always been so protective of her, and she can be reckless, so we’re afraid that she’d end up making the wrong decisions or do something she might regret. She complains that we’re too involved in her life, but it was only for her safety. When we received her letters that she found someone to spend the rest of her life with...we were afraid that it was so soon. But after getting more confident letters and finally meeting you and seeing how you really felt about our little Dashie...” she looked down at the blue ball of fluff that rested on my lap. “...we’re glad she found someone that loves her as much as we do.”

I didn’t know what to say. I’ve never been in such a...warming, emotional condition. All I could muster was a choked “Thank you.” These two are a blessing to this amazing mare, and she was a blessing to me. I couldn’t be more grateful to my in-laws for bringing her into this world.

Bow tapped Windy’s shoulder, “I think we should head off to bed. You coming, son?”

I looked down at my special mare-friend as I stroked her sleeping figure. “I think I’ll stay here,” I responded. “I don’t want to wake her up and have her complain about me ruining her beauty sleep.”

We all chuckled through the heartfelt joy we were currently experiencing. As the couple proceeded to make their way back to the elevator to head to their room—which I’m certain is directly across from us—Windy rushed over and hugged my neck, making sure not to disturb her slumbering daughter. Her grip was tight, but not tight enough to choke me. I felt her hot tears landing on my shoulder as she released years of pent up worry and anxiety into this affectionate embrace. Bow placed a hoof on my shoulder with tears still streaming down his chiseled face. “Take good care of her, son.”

I only nodded as I could feel my throat being lodged. Windy released her hold around my neck and went off with her husband back to the elevator and to their room. I just sat on the couch with the love of my life in my lap, taking in the scenery around me and thinking about our future. Windy’s words came back to me from our breakfast, “He could make a great husband”. I smiled. I guess I could.

The rain wasn’t pounding on the exterior as hard anymore. After a few seconds the storm turned into a light shower. The thunder began to pass and the lighting wasn’t so bright. I felt Rainbow Dash rustling under my arm, but she didn’t wake up. I kept running my fingers through her mane, making her feel comfortable as she slept. The sunlight poked through the dissipating clouds and landed on us, letting us feel it’s radiant warmth after it had rained for so long.

Even if our getaway was somewhat put off track by Rainbow’s parents, I’m sure we can make it work. Especially since her heats not over. Oh boy...

Author's Note

*Gott im Himmel—German for God in Heaven. I am not German nor am I of European descent. I just like using foreign words that I’ve learned, and now you’ve learned something new today!

This was a nice heartwarming chapter. I thought I’d go ahead and bring in Rainbow Dash’s parents into the picture since I’m sure some people would like to see them intruding on Luke and Rainbow’s private getaway. I hope you enjoyed!
