Not Ready, Not Set, Just Go
Carma had felt excited to see this new city!
The very tall, compared to ponies, and guillible, same as ponies, recently-turned-adult girl hadn't been expecting today to have gone how it did.
With her staring down the barrel of a gun, being asked so many questions she thought she might break her own mind.
But, here she was. Strapped to a chair, not entirely sure what they were or where she was.
They did smell like she thought they would, though.
Like her. Not like her niece, Zaed.
Oh, Zaed. Why didn't I just stick with you? That cute little pony face she only just now got used to was going to be less cute when she finally found Carma.
Or, if...judging by how tight these restraints were.
But, Carma's a big girl. Even bigger than Zaed! Stronger, too! She shouldn't be afraid of these baddies!
Carma began to struggle before the gun got dangerously close to her head, nearly pressed to her flickering ears.
She asked of the fellow with an accent that sounded distinctly foreign, "Can...you please not put that so close to me? It's...uhm, making me only wiggle more."
He barked out, "Nou, little lady. Too bad for you. You should've seen ze signs befo' coming t'here!"
Carma swiveled her head madly, looking everywhere in the pitch-black interrogation room, "Signs? Where? I just walked in. I didn't see a single sign. And, I'd know a sign. My momma taught me how to read pretty well."
"Zour mutter should've taught you how ta read a zroom. Now, look where you are."
"Could you repeat that, sir? Kinda hard to hear you with that lisp."
"Iz not a lisp! Dis is how I talk in Ponish, Poxy! Seast Kirin know how to sound not like dey came out of School por Garbage-Eaters!"
"I don't eat garbage! Ugh, rude! My momma always gave me the best food! All prepped fresh and everything!"
"Shut it abrout za mutter before I send you home to her!"
"Oh. Okay, yeah. Cool. I'd like my Adventure Time to be over, please."
"...In a boz."
"Bog?"
"Boz!"
"Huh?"
Growling, he threw the gun to the ground, exclaiming, "In a boz! Boz, zou pool! Boz! Ze ting zour God-porsaken mutter probatly found zou in!"
After his outburst, another voice stepped up, noticing the look on his interrogator-specialist's face before laughing a bit, "Eh. Well. Least you're not a spy. Or, so good you just appear a kid, kid."
He snapped his paws twice, asking whoever was in the back, "Hey. Turn on the lights. Like, more so. Than before, ya know? Our new friend here can't see who we are if we leave 'em in the dark all day."
...
After a few painful moments, he finally gave up before just announcing he'd do it himself.
A light poured over his paws, erupting out as he announced to the now awestruck gal, "Welcome to R&R! Or...Rar? For short? Kinda? Whatever, welcome!"
Carma was homeschooled all the way up to a year back. She knew very little formal education, but seeing what she just saw was absolutely an unknown.
She thought Canidrem were masters over darkness, the shadows! Yet, here one was showing off a light Canidrem nor her great mother would never be able to produce.
It was beautiful!
And, the fellow behind it was pretty good-looking, too!
She saw the hunk of dog-like Canidrem stand in a calming pose, completely in control of his own magic.
His golden shade of fur, balanced and well-built muzzle, that chiseled body surely thought up by Dreamweaver mystics.
"Turn off the lights, pretty boi! Some of us like ta have de functioning zight!"
Her awful interrogator, whilst still very rude, wasn't too far off from being a looker. Still, the light drissled fellow was still top dog in terms of attractiveness, but Carma still did a double take at the taller-by-a-head lispy fellow, who was somehow even more muscular than his obvious pack leader. With a more angled and teeth ever-barred face, he looked like something out of a bullied kid's nightmares.
"Aw, don't be like that, William."
"Codenames, zou pool! Don't juzt utter mine name out like zat! How'd you like it if I'n did the zame to zou, Huntzer?!"
"Well, Hunter is my Codename. And, my name!"
"Why would you tell the hostave zat?!"
"Hostage? Blitz, we're good guys. No hostages. What we have here is a simple misunderstanding of a girl who ended up in our absolutely secret base without any of us knowing about until she walked up onto one of the security cameras!"
Carma asked as her fur began to itch, "Hey, can I come out now?! Since it's been established I'm not a threat?"
Hunter winked at her, grinning as he said happily, "Not even crossed my mind yet, kiddo!"
Carma threw her head back as she realized the itch wasn't going away soon.
And, as William or Blitz (whatever his name was), began his own line of questioning on his very own leader, the lights powered back on.
Hunter put a finger to his friend's open maw as he suggested, "Hey, you can go meet the rest of our team! Blitz, take our friend on down to the meeting hall, will ya?!"
Just as Will was going to exclaim a hardy no, Hunter dashed out so fast it looked like a trail of light on the run.
Blitz growled a bit before following his lead's orders, grumbling to Carma, "How's about zou unt I switsh places? I sit in the chair gettzing carried by an unappreciated pool."
Then, they were off to go meet the rest of the merry band of misfits.
The Pegasus named Zaed wasn't sure exactly where her younger-than-herself aunt dashed off to, but she suspected it wouldn't be too hard to find her.
...Or, she could just wait until nightfall when both herself and Carma would be dreaming.
Zaed decided against this line of thinking, off to locate huge paw prints before she got the younger adult in deep water.
