The Adventures of the Crystal Prep Ghosts
Indigo Zap stirred awake. She was lying on her back in the school gym. When she sat up and put a hand on her forehead she felt three deep gashes in it. Horror immediately gripped her as memories came flooding back. How she had run away from a killer throughout the halls, found her way into the gym where she tripped over a metal bar on the floor. The killer had caught up to her, stood over her and cut out her tongue before he opened his mouth and sang a bone chilling lullaby.
"Hush little baby don't say a word, daddy's gonna kill you while you scream." he said before the rusty ax came down on her head.
Indigo wanted to shout curse words about that man, but she literally couldn't do anything but scream and howl in pain and grief. After the little shouting episode she tried to stick out her tongue, but it was gone.
'Dammit. He just HAD to cut out my tongue didn't he? GREAT! Now I can't speak anymore!' she mentally screamed.
She stood up on her feet and began walking through the school halls. After walking for a few minutes she heard a voice echoing through the halls.
"H-hello? Is there someone here?" the quiet voice whispered.
Indigo ran through the empty halls until she came to one of the dorm rooms where another Crystal Prep student was standing. Indigo looked at her and gasped when she recognized who it was. Even though she had a gallows loop around her neck and her eyes were pitch black empty pits, she was impossible to mistake for someone else. It was Twilight.
Twilight turned to face the source of the gasp and the two looked at each other in shock. Twilight was the first to react as she let out a scream of fear and fell onto the floor. Indigo slowly walked over to her and tried her best to calm her down, but when that didn't work she instead slapped her right on the cheek. This successfully shut her up as she put a hand on her chin.
"H-how can this be?! You were DEAD! I committed suicide! How are we here?!?!" Twilight shouted in panic.
Indigo answered with a shrug while her face took on a scared expression.
'Dead? How can that be?! I'm still here and I feel....' her mind came to a screeching halt as she realized that she didn't feel anything, only emotions.
She lifted her hand with a 'one moment' gesture before she stood up, walked down the corridor until she knew she was alone before letting out a scream of grief, anger and agony. She made an attempt at punching the wall, but her hand went right through it.
'God dammit!!! That's just even more proof that I'm nothing but a ghost!' she mentally screamed.
She whipped around and let herself fall backwards, but before the thought of her just going through the wall crossed her mind she found herself solidly hitting the wall and sliding down into a sitting position. And then for once in her life, she openly cried. This was because of two reasons. One: she wasn't going to be able to see her family again, and two: she hadn't used her years alive to help others, especially those last few minutes when that man killed them. As she cried she heard a voice next to her.
"Yo Indigo! Why are you crying?" the unmistakable voice of Lemon Zest said.
She lifted her head and saw Lemon Zest standing over her. Indigo sniffed a few times before she stood up again and looked at Lemon Zest with tears rolling down her cheeks. Lemon Zest's eyes widened as she got a better look at Indigo.
"What the....You're crying blood! How are you doing that?!" Lemon Zest asked.
Indigo was confused by that statement and wiped her finger along the bottom of her eyes. When she looked at her finger it had a thick red liquid on it, very clearly blood. If she could speak then most likely would have cursed, but instead she just gave an expression of shock and shrugged. Then something in her mind clicked.
'If Twilight and Lemon Zest are here with me and that man only seemed to target me and my friends then that means...' Indigo thought as a smile began to appear on her face. 'The others are here as well.' she grabbed Lemon Zest's wrist and began running in the direction she had found Twilight.
"Hey!!! What are you-?!" Lemon Zest complained as she was dragged along, but she stopped when she caught sight of Twilight.
Twilight sat there with a shocked expression as she slowly stood up and walked over to the two girls.
"Lemon Zest?" she said quietly.
"Yes?" Lemon Zest answered.
Twilight stood there in silence for a few minutes before she looked over to Indigo Zap who was smiling.
"Why are you smiling Indigo?" she asked with curiosity.
Indigo Zap once again made a 'one moment' gesture as she ran down the corridor to her own dorm room. She stopped in front of the door and put her hand on it. It hit solid wood. She pulled back her hand and tried to focus on going through the door and when she put her hand on it again her hand went right through. She smiled and walked through the door. She looked around the dusty room as she thought back to when she was alive. After reminiscing about better times she looked around her desk where she found paper and pencils. She managed to pick it up and moved towards the door. She tried to pull the handle, but it was locked of course.
'Damn. These things can't go through the door with me. How the heck am I gonna do this?' Indigo thought.
She could just slide the paper under the door, but the pencil was another story. She put down the paper and pen, and began to look around the room for a spare key.
'I KNOW that I hid a spare key around here somewhere. Just where did I hide that damn thing?!' she thought angrily as she threw all kinds of things around the room.
She eventually found out when she looked over her bed. Just over her pillow was a loose brick in the wall. She grabbed it and pulled it out. The brick was hollow with a key lying inside.
'Jackpot!' she thought to herself as she pulled out the key.
When she had unlocked the door and put the key back into its hiding place she ran back down the corridor to where Lemon Zest and Twilight stood waiting for her. Indigo Zap then began writing on the paper and when she was done she turned it around so the others could see.
I'm here, Lemon Zest is here and you are here. Do you know what that means?
Twilight thought for a few minutes before shrugging.
"I don't know." she said.
Indigo wrote more on the paper and showed it.
That means that the other girls must be here as well.
Twilight's face slowly turned to realization, while Lemon Zest smiled.
"Cool." Lemon Zest said.
Indigo Zap then wrote on the back of the page.
THEN LET'S GO!!!
It didn't take long before all three girls were running down the corridor in search of the rest of the Shadowbolts.
