Chapter 1: A ruined festival
Spike and his sister Smolder were heading to Ponyville from their house in the woods for the origami festival in Smolder's motor scooter
"Are you excited for the festival?" Asked Spike
"Totally. I'm excited to see Princess Twilight again." Replied Smolder.
"So am I. It's been forever."
"Well, you don't have to wait much longer. We're here."
Smolder and Spike drove into Ponyville, only to find that there was nopony in sight.
"Hmm, where is everypony?" Asked Spike
"I'm not sure." Replied Smolder, "You sure we didn't miss it?"
"I'm positive, I checked the date and time on the invitation 25 times. This is when the princess said to be here."
"Maybe we should see if everypony is in Princess Twilight's castle."
"Good idea."
Smolder drove through Ponyville with Spike looking around for any signs of ponies anywhere. But Spike saw none anywhere, even when they got to the castle.
"Still no sign of anypony." Said Smolder. "Wait here and I'll go park the scooter. Then we can go into the castle together."
"Okay" Replied Spike as Smolder went to park the scooter next to a bush in front of the castle.
The two dragons walked into the castle when Smolder remembered something.
"Shoot. I forgot the gift we brought for Princess Twilight."
"Then go get it. I'll wait."
"Okay." Said Smolder.
But the door to the castle was shut before she could exit. Smolder tried opening it, but it wouldn't budge.
"Great, now the door's locked."
"Don't worry" Said Spike, "You go look for the key, and I'll tell Princess Twilight that you said hi."
"Thanks, Spike." Said Smolder, "Now, if I was a castle key, where would I be." She asked herself.
Spike walked through the entryway hall towards the main room in the castle. When he passed through the doors, it was still empty.
Suddenly, the doors across the room opened to reveal Princess Twilight. But she looked different, more folded.
"Welcome Spike."
"Princess Twilight?" Said Spike, confused. "Why do you look so weird."
"I have been reborn, and I request that you join me."
"What, no. I'm not going to."
"It is not like you had a choice."
The floor opened beneath Spike and he dropped down a long tunnel that lead to the castle dungeons. When he landed at the bottom, there were a few different colored changelings that got startled by Spike.
"Spike. You were sent down here too?'
"Yeah, I was. Why are you here though?"
"Oh, Princess Twilight invited Lord Tirek and us with him."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
The door behind them was opened by a couple red colored changelings with white faces. They looked extra folded as well.
"Follow us." They said.
The flat changelings began to follow them with Spike following behind.
"You wait here." Said one of the folded changelings to Spike, leaving him seemingly alone.
Then Spike began hearing a voice from somewhere. The voice told him to use what was known as a enchanted circle to tear the wall off. When Spike activated the enchanted circle, his arms were stretched out and his claws were huge. He used the power, which was called the 1,000 fold arms, to rip the wall off and free Starlight.
"Whew, it was really cramped in there."
"Um-hi." Said Spike.
"Hi, I'm Starlight. Thanks for freeing me. . ."
"I'm Spike."
"Spike. Well, we should find my brother Discord. We'll have to leave whatever this place is first though."
Spike and his new companion Starlight explored the dungeon and found a large double sided hammer with nothing on it. Spike used it to break a box that was in front of a rectangular hole in the wall.
He looked inside and saw Lord Tirek folded up and stuck above the floor trying to tell some of those folded changelings to stop folding his minions.
A bunch of Tirek's changelings, now folded, walked through and continued left. Spike and Starlight walked through the same door and towards Tirek. "Spike. I'm glad you're here. I'm sure you can tell, but I'm stuck. If you get me down from here, I'll tell you where the exit is." Said Tirek when he saw him
Spike began pulling on Tirek until he was free. Tirek flew through the air expecting to unfold, but ended up flat on his face.
"Oh come on. I expected to unfold after being freed. Anyway, the exit is just behind this box over here." Said Tirek, who was now over by a box on Spike's right. Spike broke the box and left the dungeon
On the other side of the door was a spiraling staircase that led up to the balcony of the castle. When Spike, Tirek, and Starlight walked out the door that was in the middle of the balcony, Princess Twilight and a folded yellow changeling walked out behind them and noticed Spike.
The yellow changeling commanded the two red changelings and a folded dark brown changeling to come and fight Spike. Spike easily defeated the folded changelings with some help from Starlight and got many bits as a reward.
When Spike won, the yellow changeling began to float before unfolding and refolding back into Discord.
"Why do you keep doing this, brother?" Asked Starlight.
"I don't know how many times I have to explain this to you, sister. I'm forming an origami kingdom for us." Said Discord.
"And now, it's time for the next phase of my plan." He said, floating up until he was in front of the very top of the castle. He started glowing with unorganized colors, summoning five streamers, each a different color, to Princess Twilight's castle. The streamers began to wrap around the castle, forcing Tirek, Spike, and Starlight to escape. Another one of Tirek's red changelings came flying towards the castle in a mini airship, small but with enough room for all four of them.
The three began to run towards the edge of the balcony. The airship caught them just as the streamers began to close on Princess Twilight's castle. They began to lift the castle into the air and towards a large mountain in the distance.
"Wait!" Yelled Spike, getting the attention of Tirek and the red changeling, "I think my sister is in there somewhere. We have to go back."
The changeling began flying towards the castle, but ran into one of the streamers, knocking Spike, Starlight, and Tirek out of the airship. The changeling left Spike and Starlight falling and flew towards Tirek. The castle was set on the top of the mountain, but the streamers still stayed wrapped around the castle.

Prologue: Birth of Discord and Starlight
In the middle of the Celestia sea, on an island shaped like a pony head, a unicorn who loved origami named Rarity lived in a small house with an origami workshop underneath. She was busy creating a large origami castle for the upcoming origami festival in Ponyville.
When Rarity had finished the castle, she decided to create an origami King and Queen for the castle. She would name the king Discord and the queen Starlight. But simple origami wasn't enough for her.
So using a special technique called the fold of life, she was able to bring Discord to life. She had also written on his body a very important message. The message read, "I wish you the best as King. May your reign be a long one."
However, Discord didn't read the message. So he grew very angry.
"You dare mock me by putting that scribble on my body." Said Discord
"W-wait. If you would just read it-" Replied Rarity
"SILENCE." Yelled Discord, cutting her off. "You ponies will pay for your disrespect against origami. I will create an origami kingdom, and I will fold the world and everyone and everything in it into origami."
Discord used his powers to trap Rarity in the wall. Then he used the fold of life to fold Starlight, his sister, and left the house with different tools.
Meanwhile in Ponyville, Princess Twilight Sparkle was helping set up her home for an Origami festival. She had invited Spike and his sister Smolder, and her former enemies, Lord Tirek and his adopted daughter Cozy glow and their army of a large variety of different changelings to join them.
Just as the preparations were nearly finished, Discord and Starlight appeared. Discord had just finished setting up streamers in five different locations with one of the tools he stole from Rarity's workshop guarding each streamer. Starlight, however, urged her brother to stop what he was doing. She felt that they could live in peace with the flat paper creatures. This caused Discord to sense the good in Starlight, and he turned on her as well, trapping her in the wall in the dungeon of Princess Twilight's castle. He folded Princess Twilight into origami, captured Tirek, and began forming his army from Tirek's forces.
Discord already had what he needed to create his origami kingdom, his plans were in place, and he seemed unstoppable.
