The year is 1945.

John Lee is a proud member of the 1st Infantry Division, having served in the Second World War since the beaches of Normandy. He has encountered many obstacles during his time in the army, but one challenge that he has not managed to beat is quite simple; loosing his friends.

After watching one of his fellow comrades die, John goes on a desperate last attack to protect those who are left. During his final moments, he is hit by artillery, causing him to be thrown to the ground and killing him. Or is he?

John wakes up in a strange new world; one of sunshine and rainbows, never knowing the true horrors of all out war. As John learns to adapt in this land, he is forced to confront his greatest obstacle left; making new friends.

Can John learn to open his heart again? Or will he suffer in silence to protect those he loves?

This is my first ever story, so I would appreciate feedback and some advice.
