Outside the Canterlot Palace “Princess Celestia! What’s wrong!?” Yelled Twilight Sparkle as she got closer to where the princess was standing, Twilight and her friends had gotten a letter from the princess exclaiming that that all of Equestria was soon to be in the most danger it has ever been. “Twilight, hurry, we must get to the Elements of Harmony!” Shouted the princess as the sky turned an odd shade of green, the air growing colder around the Mane Six. As they rushed toward the Chapel that held the Elements, something seemed off about the Princess, she had never been this scared, even when Discord had been reawakened she managed to keep her cool, heck, when Canterlot was under attack by Changelings she at least didn’t show any signs of fear. Twilight realized something big was about to go down. When they finally arrived at the chamber that was holding the Elements that had saved them many times, Celestia opened the door that she could only get to. Twilight was glad to see they were there, and not gone like when they had tried to stop Discord. Celestia hastily gave the Heroes each their individual piece of the Elements of Harmony. “You reckon she’d tell us what’s goin’ on my now, eh Dash?” Applejack whispered. “I’m sorry girls, allow me to explain what is going on, every Generation, that’s ten-thousand years to me, the Seven major worlds are aligned in such a way that they… how should I say, fuse?” The Mane Six looked at the Princess with very confused expressions on their faces. “I’m not sure I understand what you mean by ‘Other Worlds’ Princess?” Rarity said, very confused at the whole situation. “What she means is that we are on the verge of an apocalypse!” Twilight and Co. turned around to see Princess Luna standing at the entrance to the building, out of breath. “Apocalypse, that sounds like fun!” Said Pinky Pie, totally oblivious of what the word meant. Just at that moment, the ground shook fiercely, like the planet was splitting in two. The Six heroes headed outside to see something not of this world. It was a tall, pale figure; it had shiny silver hair, a blade the size length of a hoofball field. “So this is the place my master was telling me about?” said the odd creature. “A human!” yelled Luna. Twilight looked at the human in shock; Lyra Heartstrings had spoken of such creatures before, and Twilight had never taking her seriously. “Human, no, I am much more than that you see. My name is…” “Ahahah, this is to priceless! You should see the look on your faces!” It was discord, how he returned was beyond Twilight. But he seemed more confident than ever. “You see this stunning man you are looking at, he is my under my control you see, the first of many to come.” “Discord, we don’t know what you’re up to, but we will stop you, like we always have!” said Rainbow Dash very eagerly. “What, with the Elements? Ha, I wouldn’t be so sure about that Dash, you really need to learn not to be so sure of yourself, and you are much to certain of things.” “Discord, it ends now! Let go of this human and let this tragedy unfold without you making it worse!” Said Twilight. “Oh please Twilight, things couldn’t be better! Well, for me that is, but if you insist I must let this monster go, that’s fine by me! Sephiroth, take care of these of these pests for me!” “Girls, hurry! Use the Elements to defeat him!” Screamed Celestia. Twilight cast the spell that activates the Elements of Harmony. The Elements started to glow, their power surging, but just at that moment the human cast some sort of spell, so powerful the Elements couldn’t stop it. Then something happened that Twilight just couldn’t explain, Fluttershy and Rarity vanished, only leaving there pieces of the Elements. “W… what?” Twilight couldn’t even comprehend what just happened. “I claim this planet in the name of mother…” The human drew his blade, how he was even holding it was beyond even Celestia. “Twilight, get your friends and leave, me and Luna will take care of this.” Said Celestia. Twilight did as she was told, she gathered up her friends, or what was left of them. “We have to get going girls!” yelled Twilight, just as they were leaving, Twilight stopped to aid the Princesses. “I can help you!” “No Twilight Sparkle, leave at once!” Yelled Luna, who was giving all her magical strength to her sister, something Twilight had never even read of before. “Stop wasting time, why put off something off that you know is bound to happen?” Said the human, very calm and casual, like he knew that he wasn’t going to die, Twilight was sure that he would though. “Twilight, leave at once, I command thee!” Shouted Luna. “Parish now!” Shouted the human, diving toward the princess with his sword pointed directly toward her, he was going for the kill. Just then, Celestia released all the magic that she had gained from Luna, but something was off, there was a different type of energy coming from here body. “Princess Celestia! What are you doing?” Yelled Twilight and Luna. “Well, the magic Luna has given my simply isn’t enough, so I’m converting my life-force into magic.” The human’s sword plunged deep into the chest of Celestia! “Princess no!” As Twilight was diving toward the dyeing Princess a teary eyed Luna pushed Twilight to the ground. “I’m sorry Twilight, but we can’t let thou distract us any longer, this is for your own good.” Luna cast a spell, nothing happened at first but Twilight could feel what was happening, she was slowly turning into stone. With the last bit of power Celestia had, she released all the magic she had conjured up in an explosion of major proportions, destroying everything in sight. Twilights eyes had been covered by the stone at this point, she not knew what had become of Luna, and could only guess what had become of Celestia, but after the sound of what had just happened wore off, she heard one last thing, and it was from the Human. “Rise from the ashes, Heartless Angel…” //-------------------------------------------------------// One Year Later //-------------------------------------------------------// One Year Later 1 Year Later “Reckon we can reverse the spell?” These are the first words Twilight had heard after what she had thought had been only a couple of minutes. She did not know who had said those words, nor did she actually care, her back was killing her. “I doubt it; whoever used this spell must have really wanted her out of their hair,” Said an odd masculine voice. “But I’ll go back to base to see if we have any materia that can help.” Twilight heard the person walk away; she could start to feel her body again. “Oh, please wake up Sugercube.” Twilight knew who had said that, the only person to ever call her by that name was Applejack. Twilight tried to get up, feeling the rock crack around her. Finally she gave on last try at sitting up, and the rock crumbled around her. She had a hard time seeing anything, everything was so bright and obscured because her eyes were no longer used to the natural light. “Twilight, your awake! It’s been a year since I’ve seen you move around at all!” “Huh, what happ…” Twilight stopped what she was saying because she was shocked at what she saw, her eyes had finally adjusted, and she wishes they hadn’t. Applejack looked pretty beat up, like she had been through a tornado, but what she saw behind Applejack was what shocked her the most. What was once Canterlot was now a giant pile of rubble, everything in sight was destroyed. What was even worse was the lighting in the area; this wasn’t normal sunlight, not at all. She looked up to see the scariest thing ever, the sun was purple. “No… what happened to this place…” “I reckon you need an explanation don’t ya? Not right now though, we need to get out of here before the Followers find us.” Applejack said hastily. Err… Ok I guess?” Said Twilight, more confused than ever. As they slid down the pile of torn homes and street, to shadowy figures popped up from the ground. “Dag Gommit, they found us!” Yelled Applejack, the figures the saw were Pony like, but they were completely black, and had solid yellow eyes, they slowly approached the two Ponies who were trying to escape. “It’s ok Applejack, I got this!” Said Twilight as she charged up for a Spell, she launched the magical projectile at the beasts. The shot hit one of them, but it did not phase it at all, it simply continued walking toward Twilight and Applejack. “Ok, I was wrong, I don’t have this!” The monsters shot back with their own shots of magic, which Twilight an Applejack dodged by rolling out of the way. “We have got to get goin’ now!” Shouted Applejack. As the two Ponies tried to run away, the creature Unicorn horn disappeared and they grew wings like a bat, wet from the bodily fluids that spurted out when the wings broke the skin. They started to pursue the two girls. Eventually they cornered the two in front of what used to be the building that held the Elements of Harmony. “I guess this is it then huh? I’m sorry I couldn’t of done more Twilight” As Applejack prepared for her death, a Sword came out of nowhere and sliced the one monster like a hot knife through butter. “Stay back AJ, I got this!” Said the human who was holding the huge blade, he had spiky black hair, not like the human she had seen before. He was wearing some kind of uniform, the one part of it reading “SOLDIER 1st CLASS.” The human then did a flip over the other monster and sliced its head clean off, leaving a brutal mess. “Thanks a bunch Zack, I owe you one.” Said Applejack, relieved that her life was no longer in any immediate danger. “A hero’s job is never done when the world is in danger!” Said the human in a very prideful tone, he then turned to Twilight. “Hey, aren’t you that pony that was trapped in the stone that Trunks was telling me about?” “Do I even know you?” asked Twilight, felling like here privacy was being invaded. “Oh, sorry about that Twilight, this here is…” “Zack, Zack Fair.” Interrupted Zack. “Nice to meet you and all, but am I ever going to get an explanation why all of Canterlot is DESTROYED!” Yelled Twilight. “You can tell her as soon as we get back to the base AJ, but for now we got to get moving.” Zack then turned around a pointer toward the last standing tower of the Canterlot Palace. “This way!” //-------------------------------------------------------// A Well-Deserved Explanation //-------------------------------------------------------// A Well-Deserved Explanation “All right Twi’ here’s the deal,” Applejack said to Twilight, they had finally reached the last standing building in all of Canterlot, it smelled of burnt wood and moldy wash towels. “Once we left Canterlot on that day, err, I reckon about a year ago, give or take a month or two… Anyway, once we left Canterlot, the whole world kinda went to all heck. Celestia just disappeared; we never even found a body. So once we made it back to Ponyville, we learned that Discord had crowned himself the new king of Equestria.” “That can’t be possible; Luna must have tried to stop him!” Exclaimed Twilight. “The Pony you are referring to, Luna, left quite a long time ago.” Zack said, doing some sort of a squat, confusing Twilight a bit, as she thought that he was in pretty good shape, and that he didn’t need to constantly exercise. “She left about the same time I came around.” “I’m geetin’ there Zack, hold yer horses, anyway, Luna just kinda left without word.” Applejack said, kind of annoyed. “We looked for Rarity and Fluttershy for almost 4 months, but we gave up after the Followers started appearing.” “You mean those Monsters that attacked us?” asked Twilight, remembering the event. “Ya, those monsters that attacked you are what a friend of mine calls ‘Followers’ because the followed him for almost two weeks.” Zack explained. “Good thing a hero was there to save you right!” Twilight just raised an eyebrow and turned back to Applejack. “Please continue Applejack.” “So about a month after our search, The Wonderbolts started some kinda War effort against discord, and Rainbow Dash left to join it, Pinkie Pie started a shelter in Las Pegasus, and I’ve been tryin’ to find out a way to break you out of that rock.” “Why did you stay here in this mess? I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if you got hurt.” “Well, we needed you for, um… Zack, would you care to explain?” asked Applejack. “Sure can!” Zack stopped doing squats and approached the two. “All right, so you’re a keyblade wielder!” “A what?” Twilight had a hard time understanding this guy, let alone take him seriously. “Oh, you don’t know what a keyblade is? Sweet, I can demonstrate then, now watch.” Zack held out his hand in front of him, his hand in an odd position like he was holding something. Then in a flash of magical light, a blade in the shape of a key appeared in his hand. “This is Metal Chocobo, my keyblade.” ‘What in the world!? That’s impossible, completely illogical.” Twilight explained, “Swords in the shape of keys do not appear out of thin air.” “Sugercube, have you looked outside lately?” asked Applejack. “Nothing is normal anymore.” “There are only four people that can wield the keyblade. Me, You, and two others I’ve met.” Zack said. “Mind telling me who these other two are Zack?” Twilight was sick of not knowing details “There right over there in the shadows.” Zack pointed over to a corner were two shady figures were standing. They stepped out from the shadows, One being another human, but the other one being something completely different, with spines like animals Fluttershy used to have. “Oh, well I’ll be, reckon I didn’t see you two over there.” Applejack cleared her throat “Twi’ the Human to the left is a boy named Trunks, he’s half alien or something like that, the other one is Shadow, Shadow the Hedgehog.” “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you Twilight Sparkle” Trunks said. He held out his hand. “Umm… kind of forgot you didn’t shake hands… hoofs I mean.” “Hmph…” is all the hedgehog said. Twilight let out a long sigh. “Things couldn’t get any worse…” “What if I said you are going on a Adventure with us!” Zack said happily. “You have got to be kidding me?” Said Twilight.
