//-------------------------------------------------------// The Double Date -by SpideyFlash- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Ketchup Chips //-------------------------------------------------------// Ketchup Chips "So are y'all excited er whut?" Applejack exclaimed with glee. Rarity clapped her hands together. Sitting beside Applejack in the back seats of a sedan. More or less in a state of pure bliss. Anticipating for their arrival. "Oh yes, I do think this weekend is going to be quite spectacular. Sunset sat in the passenger seat next to the driver. With a laptop in her lap. A usb cord was plugged in, the wire coming from the glovebox. She couldn't help but be a little ecstatic herself. Of course Rarity and Applejack were her friends and they hung out practically everyday. But of course she'd never actually tagged along with them on a date. This was also pretty interesting for Applejack and Rarity. Okay, so maybe mostly Rarity, but Applejack wouldn't lie. This double date was pretty neat as well. Sunset and Flash's relationship this time around was actually going pretty smoothly. Compared to Sophomore year. During Queen Shimmer Era at Canterlot High. But nonetheless, Rarity was pretty gung ho about inviting Sunset and Flash. Literally just to see the two interact as a couple. Just to gush about it at some point or something. Even if they do something as breathe the same air. Rarity will be fangiriling goddammit! She will go as a far as finding a jar and trap that air! Sh-Sh-She'll kill a man if she has to! ... Applejack was pretty much fine about it. I mean besides having some good company. She pretty much had an excuse to tease Sunset. She wasn't as off the wall as her otherwise, "civil and proper" girlfriend. Anyways though, Sunset wasn't just excited because of the fact she was gonna embark on her first double date. She was also excited because she had acquired a new Camera. A ZV1 4k Camera complete with a more than decent lens and onboard mic. And it was common knowledge that Sunset was content creator on YouTube. And well, she was doing pretty well on the platform to say the least. With nearly 20k to ShimmerCode. Her content was pretty decent, nothing too cringy, nothing too demonitization worthy. Just at the point where she could appeal to a lot of people and what not. She turned on her camera. To begin the process of recording bits and pieces of her drive to the destination. "Alrighty. So we've been on the road for about a good hour now. Uh, heh. We still have like seven or eight more hours." She couldn't help but chuckle to that. Before pointing the lens at everyone who was present. "But uh, Rares and AJ are sitting in the back. And uh, Boo here is on the wheel. How are you feeling by the way." A blank expression was across the face of the Vincent Tong voice teen. As he drove through the packed highway. Though his expression didn't exactly reflect on: how he was feeling. "I want to die." Sunset couldn't help but chuckle to that. Her grin growing ever so wider. "Wh-Why?" "Literally I hate highways." Flash said monotonely. "Like we just got out of school. It looks like the line to the Apple store. And Rarity's been non stop about tea channels, so--" The latter broke out into complete laughter from that. Flash's struggled to keep his blank expression because of it. Grinning in the midst of the laughter. Promptly letting out a chuckle. The laughter went on for just a little longer. But before long, Sunset managed to regain her composure for the most part. Pointing the camera at Flash again. "Oh, my poor baby!" She once again pointed the camera at herself. With an even wider grin from before. "I mean you guys always ask for Flash to be in more videos. So I hope you're all happy about this." Flash couldn't help but roll his eyes. Keeping his eyes on the windshield. "They do not." "They do!" Sunset exclaimed. Slowly panning the camera at Flash. "Legit, no cap. After I uploaded the friggin boyfriend tag. People in the comments just begged for me to have you in more videos. Like I try to tell them, "Oh you know he's kinda a little more camera shy then I have to say that--" "You are not Camera shy at all." "I--" Sunset became incoherent after Flash's interjection. Bursting out into another fit of laughter because of it. "Literally, I remember we went to Target when she said she wanted to start this whole YouTube thing." Flash chuckled. "And she was giddy about it too. Like she was jumping up and down while were in the line at the cash register. Just because we were buying her a camera. Like she was enthusiastic from the get go." It wasn't long before Rarity and Applejack promptly giggled. Meanwhile, Sunset was wheezing in her seat from the reminiscing. Because more or less, she felt like a kid in a candy store when Flash has bought her her first camera. So his words held some ground. Once again, she mustered up enough strength to regain her composure. And digress. "S-So, anyways. People want you to appear in more videos with me. Like you should read some of the comments." Flash chuckled as the car began to slowly get a move on. "Oh man. Just, What-What do they say?" "They say things like: "Oh is Flash ever gonna appear in another video" "You and Flash look cute together" "You should make more vids with ur boyfriend" like I could literally count a bunch of comments, and I wouldn't even graze the surface of it at all. But it something along those lines..." Flash's smirk widened. Letting out a long sigh. He bowed his head before responding to the claim. "Rarity why are you doing this to Sunset--" Like before, the latter broke out into laughter. By this point Sunset's sides were hurting because of it. Meanwhile Rarity had a tear in her eye as she pretty much comprehended the logic of Flash's statement. "Well now..." said Rarity. "At the most it was only five or six comments. Nothing more." Flash shook his head and snickered. Shrugging to that as he more or less got back to the task at hand. Driving through the very, very slow moving highway. But that's when Applejack spoke up. After making a pretty damming discovery. She felt that it should be brought up. She looked right at Sunset and her Camera. "Y'Know Sunset. Since the Camera is on, Ah think it's time we pull an intervention." She turned to look right at the seat in front of her. The drivers seat. "Specifically fer Flash here." Sunset placed her mouth over her hand. Widening her eyes and once again pointing the camera at Flash. Flash meanwhile, quirked his eyebrow. Pretty much confused by what Applejack was getting at. "Uh....What'd I do?" Applejack inhaled very calmly. What she was about to say, would be pretty damming exposure for the teen. "Flash... ... Do you have an addiction to Ketchup Chips?" And that was what finally set Flash off. He snorted before breaking out into his own fit of laughter. In-turn, prompting the latter to giggle. Sunset especially. "Umm..." However he couldn't say a word. He was way too incoherent at the moment. The accusation as a whole had just come out of nowhere. But as soon as he heard the name of his favorite snack. He just lost it, because needless to say. He knew he had a literal problem. "Okay so uh, you know how I'm from Canada, right?" Sunset looked over her seat, pointing the camera back at Applejack. Justifying his point to Applejack. "No cap, he literally tells me his life story every time I bring it up." She and Flash promptly giggled. But she went on, "Like...He said that when he moved to Canterlot a few years ago. He was outraged that they had no Ketchup Chips in America. So instead like every year, he orders boxes full of chips from Canada, just to have the ketchup chips." Flash's laugh practically sounded like a bottle of Windex. Overwhelmed by this point. Blushing out of slight embarrassment. However he didn't avert his eyes. For obvious reasons. Meanwhile, they all laughed at his expense. More or less just proving accusation made by Applejack. So much so that Sunset had to put the camera down just because of how overwhelmed she was with laughter. Applejack conveniently held a bag of Ketchup Chips. The instigator that prompted the whole conversation in the first place. She gave it a little shake. Quirking her eyebrow at the back side of her driver seat. "Sooo, could I have this, or?" "No!" Flash laughed. "That's not a sacrifice I'm willing to make." Sunset slowly picked the camera back up. Still somewhat giggling. "I like how this whole time, we haven't told them where were actually going. Like, the whole time it's just been about, Flash's chip addiction." "Okay." Flash cackled. Sunset regained her composure. Pointing the camera back at herself. "So we are actually heading to an Inn today, because tomorrow night we are actually gonna go to a....haunted farm?" She looked back at Applejack. Knowing she had a lot more info on the place they were actually going to. "Eyup." Applejack nodded. "The McKinney farm is holdin' it's annual horror farm." Her lips curved to form a cocky smirk. "And well, since Ah had the four tickets, ah thought of draggin' you two with us." "Of all the people. You chose us?" Sunset asked "Eyup." Sunset couldn't help but chuckle. "Man you must've been really desperate if you came to us." "Ah--" Applejack cackled. Slapping his hand on her forehead. Becoming incoherent for a quick moment. But before long she regained her composure. "No, yer all both nice people. And uh, well Rarity insisted on it." Flash smirked. "Of course she did." Flash briefly glanced back at Rarity. "Rarity how hellbent are you on fangirling over us?" Rarity giggled. Shrugging, feeling rather proud of her stance. "Well Darling, I'll have that I am in the beta stages of establishing a fanclub." She nodded, smacking her lips thereafter. "So you'll have something anticipate for." Sunset pointed the camera at Flash. "Yeah, Boo isn't very excited about going though." "That is affirmative." Flash nodded. Sunset pointed the camera back to herself showing her chuckling expression. "Yeah so apparently, the farm emphasizes a lot on clowns and uh..." she giggled. "Flash actually is afraid of clowns." "Babe!" Flash cackled. Prompting the couple in the back to giggle. In-turn causing Sunset to giggle and point the camera at him again. "Why would you tell them that?" "Well I had to give them context." "No--oh god." Flash prompted to whine a little. "You know everyone is gonna make fun of me in the comments, right?" Sunset continued to giggle. Shaking her head. "Boo, it'll be fine" She patted his knee. "I bet a lot of people fear clowns." Rarity manage to hold back her snickers. Leaning forward to glance at Flash. "Darling? Since when have you had a fear for clowns?" "Um..." Flash smirk widened as he began to chuckle uncontrollably, not being able to muster any coherence for a moment. "It all started in Canada!" Author's Note Alright so uh, here's a story I just thought up of during my free time. Um, literally don't care if the whole premise seems a little unrealistic at all. Because of funny times, lawl exdee Uh, I'll make another chapter in like a couple of years or something idk Erm, No Cap means No lies, y'know for anyone who doesn't wanna comprehend slang..... Uh tea channels is just drama commentary channels but for the beauty community (I hate them a lot) So, bye //-------------------------------------------------------// Upbringing //-------------------------------------------------------// Upbringing It was pretty much pitch black outside. The crickets were chirping, the moon was glowing so majestically in the night sky. And the stars had finally come around. In other words, it was half past Twelve when the group had finally arrived. "See, you managed to come in the clutch." Sunset patted her boyfriend on the shoulder. Flash was barely clinging onto consciousness at this point, struggiling to keep his eyes open. "I am never complaining about long road trips ever again...." Sunset giggled. Just as Flash pulled the gearstick back and pushed the engine start button. "Hang in there tiger. We just gotta do a few more things." Not being obvious enough through dialogue, the group had managed to make it to their destination. A nice looking Inn that was only half an hour away from the town. Flash looked back at Rarity and Applejack, who by this point were both knocked out. Leaning against one and other. Since Applejack was the taller of the two, the side of her head leaned right on top of Rarity's. Flash smirk to that. However, there was no time to admire that cute looking scene. Raising his arm up, he promptly snapped his fingers. Managing to wake up the two. "So we made it. And uh, the great news is I didn't crash the car." Applejack smirked as she and Rarity both sat up. Promptly, she stretched her arms out, hearing them crack. "That is some pretty good news." "Anyways, the trunk should be unlocked. So you guys can start to grab your things." He then glanced at Sunset, giving her one of his usual dorky smirks. "I'm gonna take it you're gonna be filming us doing all the hard labour, right?" Sunset nodded, taking out her camera with an innocent looking smile across her face. "But of course. What kind of vlogger would I be if I didn't?" Flash rolled his eyes, letting a silent chuckle escape his mouth. "I should've known." He leaned in closer, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. Prompting her smile widen even more. All four eventually exited the vehicle. Using the key remote, Flash locked his car. Heading straight for the trunk just as the latter had done. Sunset of course turned on her Camera, a little impressed by the battery life. "Oh my god, it's still at half battery life! Okay this Camera is literally the greatest piece of tech ever." Flash couldn't help but chuckle again. Even though Twilight was more or less the nerd in Sunset's friend group. Every now and then he'd find Sunset gawking over something tech related. Whether it was Graphic Cards, Lenses or even Laptop accessories. More or less anything that had something to do with Gaming or Filmmaking. He'd always find Sunset just marveling at them any chance she had. And he wasn't going to lie, he found it really adorable. Sunset pressed on the record button, continuing what she had started. "Alright so we made it to the Inn. Um, I probably sound dead or something, because I am just like.... really tired. There is really no other way to put it." She couldn't help but chuckle. "I mean despite that. I think I'm gonna end up getting more sleep than I do on most Fridays." Flash again chuckled. Deciding to chime in. "No cap?" Sunset giggled. Nodding her head to that. "No cap." She approached the latter. Deciding to take actually take a bag, slinging it onto her shoulder "Usually I'm up editing on Fridays. Other then that I'm usually studying or something." She then promptly got closer to Flash. Slowly clinging onto his arm. "But, sometimes I actually end up getting some sleep whenever Boo spends time with me." Flash smiled. Promptly placing a kiss on her forehead. Thereafter, he glanced over at Rarity. "Alright, did Rarity get all that-" Flash couldn't deliver with that with a straight face. So like the rest of the group, he broke out into a fit of laughter once again. Rarity especially who managed to let out a few snorts between her hard giggles. Rarity was slowly regaining her coherence. Though still struggling to contain her giggles. She glanced at Flash, giving him the "okay" hand gesture. The group had spent an extra of ten minutes outside the building, collecting all their belongings and what not. But despite all of that, they had finally managed. Rarity had managed to get them a room on the top floor. More or less on luck as it was just one of the last open rooms that could be booked. Applejack unlocked the door to the room, letting the group in. Sunset meanwhile, was a little giddy. Camera in hand, she was ready to just record every inch and square meter of the room. The room was what you expect. Two queen queen sized beds just 3 feet away from each other. A Television, a kitchen, basically what you would expect. They all made their way into the room. Closing the door behind them. Applejack prompted to whistle in amazement. Being genuinely impressed. "This is some room you managed to lock up fer us, Rare." Rarity smirked, promptly shrugging. "Well I for one am just glad this room was available. Honestly, I'm pretty sure anyone else here is planning to go the farm as well." Sunset pressed on the recording button on her camera. Panning it around the room. "So this is where were gonna be staying for like two nights." She chuckled quietly. "Lowkey, why does this place look better than my Apartment?" Hearing that, the group prompted to giggle at Sunset's expense. "Yo, but it's true though! Like...look at that kitchen. I don't even have a kitchen that nice." She started for the window. Just on the other end of the hotel room. Moving the curtains away to get a good look at their view. "Okay the view isn't even all that though. So it's kinda 1-1." "Well ya have to keep'n mind that were staying in the outskirts." Hearing Applejack say that prompted a cackle out of Sunset. As she panned the camera towards her friend's direction. "Well I mean--" Applejack let out a chuckle of her own. "Sunset whut did you honestly expect when we got here?" Sunset giggled , shrugging. "Uh-I-I expected the greatest view of all time! Like..." She panned the camera back at the view. Which was just a highway. She promptly let out a sharp exhale of disgust. "Like this is just--eugh! I'm not impressed." She then panned her camera towards the two beds. Sounding a little more sympathetic towards them. "But these! These actually look really comfy!" Thereafter, Sunset heard Rarity's voice from the distance. "Well the washroom doesn't look half bad." The latter walked over to the washroom, to see what Rarity was on about. And upon walking in. Applejack and Sunset's eyes widened. Both of them more or less having the same thought. (It's nicer then mines!) (Damn ah ain't got nuthin' on this!) Flash though. He seemingly agreed with Rarity on this one. "Okay half bad is kind of an understatement here. But I mean yeah, it looks pretty good." He walked over to the shower. "I just hope the hotel soap doesn't smell like perfume or something." Rarity couldn't help snicker. "You're going to use that poor excuse for soap. Hah!" Flash rolled his eyes, glancing at Rarity. "I'm gonna take it you packed all you're expensive and specific soaps and oils?" "Well, as much as I'd love to lay in a tub for hours. I think I'm gong to opt to stay away from it." She glanced at it, giving it an expression of disgust. "I've never trusted hotel bathtubs in my life. So I'll painstakingly take showers. But to answer your question: yes." "Oh my god..." Flash chuckled. Rolling his eyes once more. He glanced towards Sunset and Applejack. "Well what do you guys..." just as he turned his head towards him. He arched his eyebrow at the scene of them looking "shook". "Yo, what the heck?" Rarity quirked an eyebrow. It prompted her to glance at them. And well, needless to say. She caught Flash's drift pretty quickly. Because she ended up breaking down into a fit of laughter as she pointed it out. "What are you two doing?" Sunset and Applejack were finally snapped back into reality. Responding to the latter. "Yo, this place looks better than my whole Apartment!" Sunset exclaimed. Being enough to get the laughter out of her boyfriend. Applejack glanced at Rarity and Flash. Not able to comprehend their whole 'nonchalancy' and what not. "How can y'all just talk so willy-nilly about this place. It's more gorgeous than a pussy willow storm in Appleoosa!" Flash and Rarity both glanced at each other. Shrugging as more or less, they had the same answer: "Upbringing" "Parents" "They're a part of a profitable organization after years and years of hard work, dedication and maybe shots and bottles of alcohol that have led us to this very moment" Sunset and Applejack both promptly slouched and widened their eyes to the words of their partners. Not at all coherent enough to express how incomprehensible that was to them. And they just stood there, and stood there... And most importantly, stood there Flash and Rarity again glanced at one another. Both widening their eyes. "Uhhh, I think they're broken..." said Flash. Rarity merely shrugged. "You would be surprised to find out how often this happens, Darling." She gave him a pat on the shoulder. "Even before you two began to date, If I dare boasted about extravagent things or anything that related to my parents wealth....one or the other kind of did something along the lines of frozen shock." "Oh...." There was a moment of silence had ensued after that. As the two watched their lovers stand there completely frozen. "So--" "Half a glass of cold water, Darling." She turned around, exiting the washroom to go through with that task. Leaving Flash and the "frozen". Flash scratched the back of his head, not really seeing any other option. He too started for the exit to go through with what Rarity had suggested. ... Before walking right back inside. Specifically, walking towards Sunset. Gently taking her camera away from her, ending the recording, and turning it off completely. "I'm gonna charge this for you." He chuckled. Heading right back out the door again. Actually leaving the two in there. Author's Note Chapter 2 was gonna be the end, but I decided I like writing these interactions. So I'm gonna see where this goes. Honestly I like both ships (maybe Rarijack a little more cuz why not. Or maybe Flashimmer because also why not.) I don't know if I can end up writing a whole AU about this. Mainly because I woulsn't know how to pull something like that off....so yeah As for Prospect, it might be cancelled because I cannot think of anything in my head to write on the next chapter
