Lets start with my world. I live in Equestica. Its a state that, however you look at it, is chaotic. It's ruled by elected governments. The pony government raise the sun and moon every day and night, and the human government take care of citizens and money and worldly things. For the ponies, It usually takes a team to raise the sun because of the power it takes. And more specifically, I live in ponyvile. Its right next to, or again, however you look at it, merged with a human city called Syracuse. Yep. We live with humans. Ancient stories say that humans and Ponies have lived together in harmony ever since we met in the middle of the earth after being apart for so long. we started to explore. After we met we built civilization together. As you probably know, humans aren't all that smart. I mean yeah, they make all these cool inventions, like the computer, the car, and projectors, and they have lots of things to benefit from science. but that's just the thing! ever since humans have been good at science, they feel as if they need to know everything. i don't understand why they think they can just take the free will of other creatures and living things, even to go as far as to kill their (https://eu.usatoday.com/story/tech/2013/11/15/newser-worlds-oldest-animal/3574863) ENDANGERED species. Humans are great in their own way, but worse in some others. For example humans discriminate other people (that's what they call themselves) for a lot of things. And they litter, trash, and pollute the planet. Some dont, because of course they aren't ALL bad. This is what lead to the war. The war had been on for about 7 years now. I wish I could do something, but America has nuclear weapons, and if they discover something to use them for... Maybe I could figure something out, do something to save everycreature, but I cant use my magic that well. Thats about all you need to know of the times we're all going through. Now for me. I'm an only child, and my parents... Split up. I don't really know how to feel about it because i was so young when it had happened. I turn 13 soon, and when i do, im gonna do something to help. I keep myself busy by playing games. I enjoy playing them, whether it be online or with something real, or with my parents, but I don't really have friends, so there's only so much to keep me occupied. You get used to the terrible world that's been made. That's not a good thing though. If you didn't know already, my name is Flickering Lights. It sucks staying hidden. You see: I'm an alicorn. I was born an alicorn, and my parents didn't know what to do when they saw me. I have been hiding for my whole life, and until I turn 18, my parents wont let me show people that I'm really an alicorn, for obvious reasons. Anyway, that's your background info. Nothing more, nothing less. Well, there's always a lot more to learn about everything. And that isn't always a good thing. //-------------------------------------------------------// Constellation Contemplations [edit] (1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Author's Note So, if you've made it here, just know that I've never written a story before, just had brainstorms every now and again. I dont know how to put this in a way so that it can seem fun to you guys, but its going to get there, i swear. Also, Im gonna make a story at least every month. Constellation Contemplations [edit] (1 You ever just look up at the stars and be like: "wow, look at that!" And then just sit there, maybe fall asleep? Yeah, I did that too one night. I have a little skylight in my room. I noticed the stars looked different. It looked like a pony. Or something else. I couldn't make it out. I couldn't look away from it either. My life was pretty boring. Until today. I asked my mom about it, and she said she didn't see anything. She got me a book about the stars though. It was a kind of broken book, and it has a lens on the cover. It was supposed to be magical, and when you looked through it, it showed you what constellation you looking at. I used it on the stars that I saw, but something.. Strange happened. I looked through the glass, and it went black. It was like it was being covered in ink. Okay, so it broke. I did my best to fix it, then I tried again. It was darkening again, so I tried to use my magic to hold it open. I see something! What is it!? It.. it says.. "The spell..." "Sleep.." "Help." Then It shattered. Its the next day, and my eye is swollen. My mom fixed it up for me and bandaged it. "You need to be more careful" she said. "What would I do if this situation called for a doctor? We cant just walk you right into the hospital." I knew she was right, yet I also knew that I needed to find out what this star is telling me. I don't have the slightest clue what could be up there, but when i find out, im gonna do something about it and escape this boring life. "If you find what you're looking for, you should let us know" said my stepdad. "You know, star magic is really powerful, and if you actually found some unknown star, you might be able to help a lot of people with it." "I'll remember that, thanks." They left talking about something, and when they were gone I got out the glass and mended it with my magic. It stayed open for longer when I used my magic on it, and only I could see the stars, so it has to have something to do with me. Hopefully I can fix it. Maybe make it from out of pure magic, but how? The book had a chapter on the lens, so I read into that, and found that some letters were capitalized in weird patterns. that's strange I thought. Everything else seems normally~ Ohhh, I thought i had a realization just then. maybe this is some secret to find out what the stars mean! Well, I wasn't wrong. I put the letters together, and got this: 'harmony' 'three' 'sleep' 'magic' and 'help' For each paragraph. That doesn't explain anything, most of that was what the stars said. Maybe I did something wrong. I picked up the book with my magic, and-wait... Its glowing! Oh, I did It! It just needed a jumpstart! With my magic to... to, ah.. Its glowing, what happened? I'm feeling light headed. Oh no, what did I do? 1 3 "Why does it say one- //-------------------------------------------------------// Ok, forget rhyming, (2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Ok, forget rhyming, (2 and 3- AAH! ? "Um..." I was frozen. As soon as I said 'one' I couldn't feel anymore. There was no up or down, left or right, just... Void. As I regained general consciousness, I was laying down outside. I didn't have any clothes on! What if someone sees my wings! That's the easiest thing to hide, because my horn is on my head and all, so whenever I went out, and someone asked, i stuck with being a unicorn. I opened my eyes and looked around, but I couldn't get up yet. Nobody was there, and I was next to a building that looked like some sort of office, but also like, um, a lighthouse? I don't really know. Forget about hiding, I need to go find help. Maybe there are ponies somewhere here. I saw what looked like a huge green mountain in the distance compared to the rest of the scenery with some buildings nearby, So I got up and walked over there. I wasn't really good at using my wings to fly, since I have to hide them all the time. I got up and began to walk over to the strange mountain, and I saw some ponies near a river. There were 3 of them, one was yellow with a red bow in her hair, the other was orange with a purple mane, and the last one was white with pink hair. They didnt seem to notice me, and the orange one had what looked like a fishing pole in her hands. "Uh, excuse me?" "One second" said the one with the pole. "Can't ya just go down there? It isn't that deep ya know" "No way am I going down there, you do it!" "But ah have to go soon! I have chores to do. You know that" "Well why doesn't sweetie belle go down there?" "My sister just did my mane, scootaloo. She would be mad if I got it wet!" I didn't know what they were going on about, but as I got closer I saw at the bottom of this river there was a gold ring. It had a faint pink light coming from it, and I realized I could just pick it up from right there. So I levitated it with my magic, and handed it to one of them. Turns around "Oh, thank yo-" Then they stopped. I didn't know how common alicorn were in this whole new world, but when they saw my wings AND horn, I guess I got my answer. "Wait," said who I assumed was scootaloo "Are you... An alicorn?" "Um, yeah, I was going to ask how-" "Applebloom!" Yelled somepony in the distance, getting closer. They had a cowpony hat on with an orange coat, and they didn't look too happy. "Why aren't ya at home? Didn't ya finish that project twilight gave ya already?" "Uh, sorry applejack, ah just got distracted, then we had an argument, and now this pony's asking for our help-" "That's nice and all, but next time try to hurry it up. Ahm gonna be leaving soon, so you and Big Mac-" She finally stopped to look at me, and at first she looked confused, and that confusion turned into surprise, and I'm just standing here nervous. "Wait, are you..." After a minute of explaining what seemed as to be an impossible story, they stared at me for a moment, then applejack spoke up. "Well, um, I know someone who might be able to help ya." "Really?" "Yeah, applebloom and her FRIENDS were headed there NOW, wern't ya?" "Uh, yeah, hehe." After that, they led me right to where I was going actually, to the strange mountain. There was a detour somewhere and we got to the side of it, I cant remember more details about it, but when we got there, I couldn't believe what i saw. There was a huge crystal tree on the other side, and some strange stacked houses next to it with the same color scheme. As I got closer, I could make out some buildings coming out of the top like a big treehouse, and a flag. The tree was light blue, purple, pink, and gold. it was bigger than I'd like to think about to be honest. As we were going there, they told me their names and I thought I was the only one with a 'strange' name like that. They were nice actually, and a lot more understanding than people in my world. We were halfway there when I saw someone come up behind us. She was a yellow pony with a pink mane and teal eyes. It was then that I noticed that her and applejack's cutie marks were glowing. She saw the three other ponies I think, but didn't pay me any attention. "Hi fluttershy," "Hi applejack, I hope I'm not running too late?" "Ah, we probably are, I had to fix some things at the farm. I hope twilight isn't too mad at us" "Me too, we should probably hurry then." "Right, How about you girls go to the school of friendship while we're gone?" "Really?" I think applebloom asked. "Yeah, ahm- well, not you, applebloom. You go on back to sweet apple acres where I need ya." "Aww, do I have to?" "Yes, In fact you shoulda been there earlier." "Shoot" She said then trudged off." As she and the others left, fluttershy looked over and we stopped moving. That's when she noticed me, She turned to face me, then she looked confused, and that turned into realization, then surprise- then embarrassment? "O-oh, um I Hadn't r-realized you b-brought a new f-friend.." She said hiding behind her mane. She had a quiet voice and didn't fly very fast, so I guess she was just shy. I don't know. Ever since I came here and met these 5, I haven t really expressed or said anything. I think its because I'm not really used to doing so. What if I'm just shy? I never thought about it that way, I always considered myself introverted, but I do tend to stumble over my words and stay away from people. But That's just because I have to- right? "Uh, hi, my name is Lights.. Flickering lights." "Oh, hello." Awkward Sounds of Silence "Uh, me and fluttershy have to go, so how about you go wait somewhere around here. Ill have twilight meet with ya soon." "Ok," I said, and with that I walked off to the buildings near the mountain, inspecting everything I could see. There was too many decorations and fancy things for me to describe, but just know that it was... Very big and sparkly. I didn't really know where to go, so I- "Uhh... Hello?" I turned around, and there was a.. Creature behind me. She looked like a small bug-like pony with insect wings, luminescent big eyes, and a sharp horn. "Oh, hi.." "Um, can I get inside?" "Oh yeah, sorry." As I stepped aside, she walked in then stopped to examine me. "I don't think I've seen you around here." "Yeah, I'm kind of lost." "Lost? Are you supposed to be somewhere or..." Here it comes "Wait- Are you an Alicorn?" "Yeah, its a long story. I actually-" "Oh, hi occelus!" I turned around again, (facing outside the school) and there was another new creature, this one was also like a pony, but she had claws, a beak and feathers, was light pink, and had wings." "Oh is this your new friend?" "Well, actually-" "Hey guys!" This just keeps getting weirder. I feel like I'm going to be meeting a lot of new creatures here. This one was like the last, with feathers a beak and claws, but he didn't have wings, and his tail was less feather-y. Also, the first one disappeared. "Oh cool, a new pony. I'm Gallus, and- wait..." "What's up guys." Didn't see that one coming. There were 3 more creatures, and one was just a pony. At this point I'm starting to get nervous. There's already too many people in one space, and it's getting hot in here... The next was a dragon, she walked on 2 legs and used her other 2 as arms, like a human. She also had orange scales and purple hair. Strangely like scootaloo... The other was a normal earth pony with a yellow coat, and aquamarine hair. His cutie mark was three turtles, and he didn't freak out as much. And the last one was strangest.. To me.. Her fur was covered in a lot of hair, and she had hair rings on her ears and pink bows on those. She wore a cyan tarp on her back, and she also had horns and a strange snout. She was also small, but big at the same time? Does that make sense? After they all got here, I was confused, crowded, and ~~shy~~ nervous. I guess I had some explaining to do. Author's Note Well here we are again. I made a chapter. I don't know what to think of this yet, but ill think of something. I'm going to make this story a lot better and a lot more exiting. And one last thing, I'm going to be editing the chapters frequently because there's always one more thing i want to change for some reason. It's going to stay mostly the same though. //-------------------------------------------------------// Calm Down (3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Calm Down (3 "Um, h-hey, I- uh" Oh no, what do I do? I don't know anybody here! What if they question me and don't like me? Could I be considered as a threat? Nobody knows me, so I'm just a stranger here. "Dude, are you okay?" The dragon asked. "Um, actually I have to... Be somewhere!" Before I knew it, I took off. I had to find somewhere where I can think this all over before I make a impression that I didn't want to stick on me, or however that works. I don't know what these creatures are like, but judging from the way humans act, I didn't want to find out. I made my way down the hallways and through crowds of students before i found a room that nobody was in, and it had a key in the door. I flew in there and shut the door behind me as I saw a flash of green/blue light. As I caught my breath, I looked around and saw that the room i was in was less- castle-like- than the rest of the place. The walls were brown or crimson in different lights™ and the floor had a navy blue carpet. There was a bunk bed and a dresser, and a nightstand with fluorite and rose quartz (cool rocks), along with a fancy light stand for it. That must be what caused the light as i got in here. Anyways, now what? I'm suddenly in a world of creatures that are all interested in me because I'm an alicorn, so I cant just blend in, and I have no idea what to say. What if I just introduce myself and let that be it? What if they're nice? Or not? What if I'm the only one here? Should I be cautious? Okay, so the first people I met were nice, but they were ponies. Other creatures might... Maybe I just need to sleep. Its been- I don't even know how long. I stopped pacing the room, and layed down on the bottom bunk. I was so tired I probably could've fallen asleep right there if it weren't so cold. There was a blanket, but it felt off. It was warm. Naturally warm, as if it were alive. It probably was something I haven't seen made yet, or wasn't possible where i was from. Strange. I was panicked and wasn't thinking straight, so I got comfortable and fell asleep.I was really surprised that nobody had found me yet. Tomorrow, I'm going to go out and talk to someone. Speaking of which, I thought applejack was going to send one of her friends to help me. Well, there's always tomorrow. This morning, I don't know why but I was tired and nopony woke me up. Maybe my- oh. All of a sudden, my memories came back to me. Where I was, who I met... How I panicked and where I was. And what I said I would do today. And this blanket- I'm keeping this. Wait where is it? Nevermind that- why is it so quiet? where is everyone? I got up, and as soon as I did, the door opened. This wasn't anypony I've met before; she was a violet pony with different shades of purple in her hair. Oh, she was also an alicorn! Maybe there are more here? I might ask about that later. she looked familiar too. "Hey, are you okay" On second thought, maybe I don't know her. "No, I don't know if I am" "Wanna talk about it?" "Who are you? Where am I? Who were those- the 5 other creatures outside the building?" You must mean ocellus, smolder, Gallus, Silverstream and Yona, right?" "Uh, what?" "Come with me." She led me down a few hallways, and thankfully nopony was there. We went outside and she took me into the big star castle, several different hallways, and into this strange looking throne room. There were about 7 thrones around a crystal table, and 4 ponies were sitting in them waiting for us. Oh, and there was a dragon there. Nothing too much, just some new people. "So, I'm sure that your confused, right?" Twilight asked. "Yeah, I hardly know how I got here. You might not believe me, but I'm from-" "Another dimension?" So now its my turn to be surprised. I've known this pony for 2 minutes, she wasn't surprised seeing me, was very understanding, and guessed my- Unless this is the twilight that applejack told me about. That makes more sense... "Look outside." She told me. The 4th wall was a whole window, so I looked out and the sun had just set. The strange thing was that I could see the same stars that I could see from home. How does that make any sense? Is this the same universe, and even more so is this the same galaxy? Why are the stars the same? How does this pony see what I saw? It was twilight (haha so funny) outside, and I was sitting in a castle next to a school on at least another planet with a pony who I met not a half hour ago, sitting In front of a window that looks like I have shaders on with 5 ponies and a dragon. this is a lot for me to process, and I'm just waiting for an explanation. "So, I brought you here to tell you what's been going on." "Thank god." "Me and my friends brought you here for a reason. We need you, and I think you need us." "Do you mean you can help me get back home- or wherever I need to be?" "Well no, but actually yes." "I don't follow." "We can help you get yourself back home, but we cant bring you there, since your the one who brought you here. We just.. showed you the way." "Um, okay. Why me?" "We'll cross that bridge when we get to it." Okay... "So you know who I am?" "Oh! Speaking of which, where are my manners- I'm Twilight Sparkle!" I introduced myself to her and all her friends, and I don't think it will be hard to remember their names. Everypony here was nice to me, and everyCREATUR... I didn't even try to talk to... Why do I feel guilty? Its just me avoiding people. This isn't new. "So, what do you need me for exactly?" "I'll tell you once everyone's here." Right as she said that, Fluttershy and Applejack walked in talking about something I couldn't make sense of. "Oh, you're back! How was it? Did you learn anything?" Then applejack said "Well, it was great! we fixed the problem with the- um, that's my seat." Then I realizes she was looking at me. All the thrones were marked with the symbols that they have on their flanks for some reason. I don't even know what they are. "Oh, sorry." So I got up and stood for the rest of the conversation making it ever so slightly more awkward. Then Rainbow dash said "So, can you tell us about your world? what sports did you play? when did-" And at that moment, we heard a royal fanfare in the distance, and something, like a cart, was pulling up. I could hear it shaking. I think someone important was arriving. Was it the person in charge of everything? was it a super important message? Did this place have royalty? Well; kind of, yes, and definitely. You'll see. "There's our final guests! Now I'll be better able to explain to you and we can show you around." Twilight said grinning. I hope stuff like this is normal. Not for me, I'll decide when I think things are normal. ._. Author's Note I'm still working on longer chapters, and when I get better, I'm lowering the deadline for them getting released. Shouldn't be too long actually, it was pretty easy to think of stuff this time. I have a general understanding of where I want this story to go, I just need to put it into words. One more thing, I'm also looking for an editor. One to make some chapters longer, and put in some better wording.
