When a strange dragon crash lands in the Everfree Forest one late summer evening, Zecora the zebra takes it upon herself to help the injured and confused creature. As time goes on, Zecora finds herself preoccupied with one unsettling question after another. Who is this dragon? How did she come to be so injured? And who - or what - was she fleeing from?

All this is bad enough, but then the Royal Guard show up in Ponyville, clearly looking for the dragon. Their investigation leads them to the Everfree, where they soon find a giant crater left behind from the dragon's crash landing - and a trail of blood and Zecora's hoof prints leading into the woods.

Will Zecora stand by the dragon's side as her friend, or will she forsake the her to a cruel fate?
