Entrapment
Chapter the Eighteenth: The Art of Dance
Previous ChapterNext ChapterFluttershy woke up to Malak gently rubbing her breast with one hand, while his other hand was down between her legs. She could feel his morning wood pressed up between her arse cheeks. This was a normal morning for her by now, and she had learned to just accept it and enjoy the ride.
After she had her morning rub, she had a shower and breakfast. As she prepared to go to her yoga session, however, Malak held her back. She looked up at him, confused at the break from routine. "Are we not going to yoga class, Master Malak?"
"Tomorrow we will, but not today. Your dance instructor is on his way."
"Dance instructor?"
"Yes. Your appeal can still enhance. So you're going to learn to belly dance."
Fluttershy had never heard of belly dancing before. She knew how to waltz, but that was the peak of her dance knowledge. She had never been particularly high-energy, so dancing wasn't really her style. She hoped that the moves were simple enough that she could pick it up easily.
She decided that it might be a good idea to do some light stretching, anyway. She had made a few friends at the yoga class, and hoped that they would understand why she was missing today. She looked over at Malak, who was sitting on the couch with a newspaper. She wished he had told her yesterday at breakfast that she wouldn't be attending yoga today. She could have explained that to her friends had that been the case.
As she finished off her preparations, there was a knock at the door. She opened it, finding a pony stallion in a spandex outfit. He wasn't particularly muscular. If anything, she would describe him as thin. He had dark brown hair draping down over his shoulder. His vibrant green eyes met with hers. "Miss Fluttershy?"
Fluttershy nodded. "Yes, that's me."
He extended his hand to shake. "I'm Spinner. I'll be your dance instructor this morning."
Fluttershy shook his hand and was surprised by the strength of his grip. She escorted him inside, specifically to a place where Malak could see him. If there was an issue, Malak didn't indicate, so she assumed that Spinner was the correct pony for the job. As some of the furniture in the living room was shifted aside for space, Fluttershy voiced her concerns.
"I'm afraid I don't know what belly dancing is. Is it hard?"
Spinner chuckled. "Not really. You'll be able to perform all the basic moves in a few days, if you work at it hard enough. Besides, you look reasonably fit. You'll be just fine."
With the area now commandeered for a dance lesson, Malak left the room. Spinner turned to Fluttershy, who was wearing her athletic outfit. "I see you're already dressed in appropriate clothing for this," he smiled. "Most beginners think you have to start out in a tight, skimpy outfit, but that's closer to the end than the beginning. As long as I can see how your body is shifting, any outfit you're comfortable in is just fine."
"So, where do we start?" asked Fluttershy nervously.
"We should begin with a quick warm-up and a few stretches."
"I did some yoga before you arrived. I'm set for stretches."
Spinner smiled. "Good for you. That's a good practice for when I'm supposed to be teaching you, to prepare for my training. But you still need to warm up, so lets see some abdominal crunches and deep lunges. Not a lot, just a few."
Fluttershy did as she was told. It wasn't strenuous, but it did increase her heart rate and blood flow. She was expecting push-ups to be included, as they were part of the standard set of exercises she knew, but Spinner assured her that those would be unimportant for the purposes of what he was planning to teach her today. He did encourage her to do them on her own time, however, as they certainly wouldn't be a detriment.
"So, now that we're all warmed up, let's start with the first thing you need to know about belly dancing. Posture is important. Your feet should be hip width apart and parallel to each other. Keep your knees bent. Your chin should always be parallel to the ground, and your shoulders should be dropped low. In all but the final lesson for today, your shoulders should never move."
"What about my wings?"
"Keep them folded. When you've mastered the basics, we might talk about how to effectively use your wings. For now, we'll start with posture." Spinner walked in circles around Fluttershy, correcting her stance as he went. She didn't need much in the way of adjustment. "Good. Now we'll start with something easy. It's called the hip lift, and it's exactly what it sounds like."
Wanting to impress him, Fluttershy tried to perform the move before he showed her the technique. As she lifted her leg, her whole body shifted to the side. "Like this?"
"No, no. You're putting too much into it. I want you to, from your starting stance, hold your weight on your left leg. Use your abdominal muscles to pull your hip up. Your knee and ankle should come along for the ride, but your toes stay where they are." He demonstrated, showing that his only movement was his right leg and his abdomen. A crease formed on his side, drawing her eyes to his hips. "Try it that way."
She took a few attempts to do it right, then he had her switch legs. For the next twenty minutes, they went over that same move several hundred times. Fluttershy's abs hurt by the end, and she cursed herself for not being a strong pony like Rainbow Dash.
"Now let's focus on your chest," said Spinner, coming back to his resting position. "The next step is chest lifts. This doesn't mean pushing your chest forward." He demonstrated the right and wrong way to do it. Fluttershy tried to replicate it, and was corrected. Her shoulders were moving too much, and she was associating chest movements with breathing. "If you try to breathe alongside your movements, you'll destroy your lungs when you increase the speed of your movements."
This concept took her a long time to grasp. Much like with singing, the muscles in her gut were the primary focus, trying to move them separately from those in her chest. It took her a fair amount of effort, but she eventually figured it out. After repeating the movement until Spinner was satisfied with her abilities, he made her repeat the hip lifts to make sure she didn't forget them.
"Next is the easy one. The head slide. Without moving your shoulders, move your head from side to side, keeping your chin parallel to the ground."
Fluttershy was relieved to not have to work her abs anymore. They were burning by now. While this was the easiest move for her to learn, she still had some trouble with it. She managed to keep her head level, but she kept moving her shoulders. With a bit of help from her instructor, she managed to make it work. Once she could do it masterfully, she was once again made to demonstrate her memory of the last few moves.
"Good, good. We're almost done. The fourth and final move we will learn today is your hand circles." He demonstrated the move. It wasn't hard, but it was complex. Essentially, it all came down to making small circles with her wrists while making wider circles with her arms. The wrist circles were much akin to wiping something with a rag. The arm circles started low, and as her hands came in front of her, they crossed. They rose up above her head and swung out before coming back down to repeat the motions. Much like all of the others, she had to repeat the move over and over again.
Before she started demonstrating her prior moves, Spinner gave her a routine to follow. Choreography, he called it. She was about to begin when Malak returned to the room. He moved over to the couch, sitting down and watching her. This was no longer a lesson, it was now a performance. Her stomach tightened up with nerves. The only calming factor in the room was the fifteen foot snake wrapped around Malak's shoulders.
With instruction from her tutor, she performed the dance for Malak. She kept her eyes closed, not wanting to see how disappointed he was. Had she kept her eyes open, she would have seen that the snake was following her movements closely, matching her head movements whenever they came around. At the end of the routine, she tentatively opened one eye to see whether or not Malak had enjoyed it.
"While your progress is quite inspired, your confidence leaves something to be desired. Your facial expression betrays your nerves. The only audience who'll enjoy that are pervs. Still, not a bad opening session. I look forward to your progress in the next lesson."
Spinner was paid for his services, and the furniture was returned to the correct positions. It wasn't quite time for lunch yet, so Fluttershy sat down next to Malak. "Is this Jerome?" Malak nodded.
It was obvious to Fluttershy why Jerome had been irritable recently. His scales were shiny, vibrant and beautiful. He had only just finished shedding his skin. While Fluttershy had dealt with angry snakes before, Jerome was actually very friendly to her right off the bat. He slid over onto her shoulder and sniffed at her. His tongue tickled her wherever he looked. He began to wrap himself around her arm, climbing up to her shoulder and around her neck. Any fear she had about him that had grown when Nightshade was bitten disappeared instantly, and she was absolutely certain that they would become close friends.
