Love in the Library

That night seemed to be the longest night I could ever remember. I didn't get a ton of sleep because those couches weren't all that comfortable and when I did get sleep, I had nightmares about getting kicked out of school and having to work some minimum wage job in a fast food joint for the rest of my life. Those were worse than the ones I used to have about being surrounded by angry bees or getting attacked by badgers. Before you ask, I did get attacked by a badger when I was younger.

When the morning arrived, I was still rather tired but that wasn't the only problem I had. I was hungry and like most everyone else, I didn't exactly bring any food with me. "Great, just great," I thought to myself, "Now I'm going to be hungry as hell until Monday morning."

Initially I thought this was going to be pure torture but then I realized that going a mere two days without food would be nothing compared to what some people go through. I knew there were some people who a mere two days would be nothing. I let out a loud yawn and figured that the best way to get through this time with no food would be to simply sleep through it.

Apparently my yawn was heard by someone because I heard footsteps not too long after that and I immediately thought that maybe either it was a janitor who goes in there to clean on the weekends or with it being right before finals that they opened up the library and it was an employee. I would be shocked though when it wound up being neither. I saw the person approaching from the distance and I was shocked to see that it was one of the girls in my physics class, Twilight Sparkle.

While we had never really communicated much outside of sitting next to one another a few times, she knew who I was. She gave me an odd look and asked, "Luke, is that you?"

I replied, "Yes, it is me." Now I'm going to admit, I was a bit nervous because I thought that maybe they let her stay over the weekends in the library and report anything odd to them. Yes I'm the suspicious type but I remained calm, "Twilight, I take it you got locked in too?"

Twilight gave me a slight smile, "Not really. I find ways to purposely get myself locked in so I can study more." She then laughed a bit, "I'd do that at Crystal Prep too and doing this really helps my grades."

I gave her a nervous chuckle, "I can imagine. You are really smart."

She sat down next to me and asked, "So how did you get locked in here?"

When Twilight sat down next to me, my heart skipped a beat. I have always liked her and thought she was beautiful beyond imagination but I never expressed my feelings to her because I always figured that a smart, beautiful and incredibly hot girl like her would never want anything with someone who isn't anything to write home about.

I replied, "Oh I just kept blowing it off about leaving. With finals coming up, I wanted to get as much studying in as possible." My stomach begun to rumble causing me to continue, "Unfortunately though, now I'm going to go a whole weekend without anything to eat."

Twilight stood up, motioned for me to follow her and said, "Follow me, I have some food with me."

My initial thought was, "Who in the world brings food with them to the library?" I then remembered how Twilight said that she would purposely get herself locked in the library. As it turns out, she too was in one of the study cubicles and when we got there, she had a lot of food in there with her.

"Wow," I commented "you came prepared didn't you?"

Twilight replied, "I did." She then motioned for me to join her and continued, "Come on in, I have more than enough for both of us."

Now all she brought with her was bread, peanut butter and bottles of water but it definitely beat having nothing at all. Once I got sat down, we were sitting across from one another and there was an odd silence between us. I'd look up briefly, blush a bit and then look back down. I noticed though that she was doing the same thing. I couldn't be sure but I had a feeling that maybe she liked me in the same way that I liked her.

After what was a rather quick breakfast full of awkward silence she asked, "So, what were you studying when the library closed?"

I replied, "I was studying physics."

She said, "I was too. Want to study together?"

I replied, "I'd love to. Let me go and get my books."

I wasn't overly surprised that she would be studying the same thing as me but I was thrilled that she wanted us to study together. Now deep down I was really hoping that a weekend together in the library might lead to something special but I wasn't going to count on it. She is the academics first type and like I had said before, I'm nothing to write home about.

Once I grabbed my stuff and returned to her cubicle, she gave me a smile and suggested, "Let's get started shall we?"

I agreed and we began to go over our materials. What did surprise me though was when she came over to my side of the table and plopped down next to me. Yes it was just studying physics but still, having such a beautiful girl that close to me was nice and caused me to start wondering, "What if? What if she was to ever want something special?"

Ok, I know that sounds outlandish that I'd even think about such a thing, especially while I was studying for an important final exam but a guy can dream, right?

What really surprised me though was that after we stopped studying for lunch, she wanted us to head out to one of the couches and simply talk. I was indeed surprised but I thought that maybe if we got to know more about one another, she might at least want to be friends and then, who knows?

Once we got sat down on one of the couches there was again an awkward silence. I knew she wanted to talk but it seemed like both of us simply couldn't come up with anything to say. It ultimately got to where we would just look up briefly, smile and blush before looking back down. I am going to admit this, I felt like an idiot not being able to even come up with something to say to her.

Finally I had to break the silence, "So Twilight, what are your plans for after graduation?"

Twilight replied, "Well I plan on going to Everton University here in Canterlot. What about you?"

I said, "Well I plan on working at the local call center until I can save enough money to go to the tech school here in Canterlot for mechanics."

I wasn't sure exactly how she would react to the fact that I had no plans to go to a university but I thought it may cause her to think I'm not real smart but I would be surprised. She gave me a smile, "Well it looks like we'll still be close to one another."

I was shocked and elated by her comment. She was going to be happy that we were still going to be close to one another! The two of us again began to blush and look down before looking up and blushing again. Very soon she began to move closer to me and her blushes became deeper as did mine.

Finally she got close enough to me that she put her arm around me. I felt a tingle go up my spine when she did this and I let out a slight gasp with a deep blush. She scooted closer and grabbed my other hand, eliciting the same response from me. She gave me a deep blush and asked, "You have a crush on me, don't you?"

I froze initially before my face turned beet red and I replied, "Yes Twilight, I do."

We both looked deeply into the other's eyes and I will say this. Those purple eyes of hers are captivating. They are so beautiful that they drew me in, they drew me into the point that I had almost lost all sense of everything else that was going on around me. Finally I snapped out of it when I saw her moving in for a kiss.

My heart began to beat faster when I saw this. I too began to move in and I started to become more nervous because this would be my first kiss and I didn't want her to think I was a horrible kisser. My heart continued to beat faster and when our lips made contact, it was like winning every sports championship at once. I could hardly believe it, the girl I had been crushing on for so long kissed me, she kissed me!

After our first kiss she pulled me up and there we stood, continuing to look into one another's eyes, this time with a look of desire. We both moved in and opened our mouths for our second kiss and when our lips met, our kiss became much more passionate. Almost immediately I felt her tongue in my mouth and our tongues began a love dance. As it continued, we pressed our bodies tightly together and began to rub the other's back.

Soon our hands would begin to move down and quickly we were groping one another's butts. Not long after that though Twilight broke the kiss and said, "Luke, I loved our kiss but I'm afraid of where our groping would lead. I'm afraid it would lead to sex and I'm not ready for that."

I agreed, "I'm not ready either Twilight. Sex is something that is supposed to be special, not something done in the heat of the moment."

Twilight gave me a huge smile and exclaimed, "I'm so happy to hear that! It is so nice to know there are still guys out there who put love ahead of passion!" She then calmed down and continued, "Luke, I want to ask you a question but I'm afraid of what you'll say."

I knew what it was that she was going to ask and I felt my heart on the verge of exploding it was beating so fast. I replied, "You can ask me anything Twilight."

Twilight again pulled me closer and began, "Luke, I want you to know that ever since I transferred here from Crystal Prep, I have had a crush on you from the moment I saw you. I thought that you were so sexy and from the brief one or two times we did interact, I thought you were so nice. I ultimately got to the point where I would dream about us hooking up" she began to blush deeply, "right here in the library. I always dreamed about us hooking up here in the library and being together forever." She took a deep breath and finished, "Luke, would you be my boyfriend?"

I gave a longer response, "Twilight, I have something I have to tell you. Ever since you transferred here, I always thought you were so beautiful and so sexy. I absolutely love your smile and the few times we did interact, I always felt something special for you. I too have had dreams about us ultimately hooking up and being together." I blushed deeply before finally answering, "Yes Twilight yes! Yes I'll be your boyfriend!"

We again began to kiss but this time we kept our hands above our waists. We wanted to restrain ourselves because we knew what groping could lead to, it could lead to things that both of us want to save for a special moment, not a heated moment right there in the library. After we broke our kiss we sat down on the couch and held one another close.

Twilight said, "I love you so much Luke."

I replied, "I love you too Twilight."

Our cuddling was nothing that would lead to anything we weren't ready for. With one hand we massaged the other's shoulder and with the other, we held the other's hand. It was a blissful moment for us. It was so blissful that both of us had forgotten why we had gone to the library to start with. I really hoped that this would be the beginning of something special. I was the boyfriend of the girl I had been crushing on for so long and I wanted it to stay that way.
