The Night Bleeder

Spike suddenly woke up from his peaceful somber by the agonizing and burning pain in his chest. The first thing that he saw a creature’s jagged mouth and its long tongue was covered with his blood. They were only visible parts of the creature due to his blood was on them. Unfortunately for him, he was a sort in sleep paralysis and endured this torturing nightmare until it over.

Spike slowly woke up by birds’ relaxing morning singing, and Celestria’s sun rays warmed up his body.

“Jeez, that nightmare was terrible as buck.” He thought tiredly, moving one of his claws towards his chest. He unexpectedly felt a warm liquid with his hand.

“It was not a nightmare. It was real.” He exclaimed with a terrified expression after moving his hand to his face and saw his blood dripping from it.

The next night, Spike wrapped up his chest with medical gauze. Then he left the light on and would sleep on his belly in the hope that they would repeal the creature. He was about to fall to sleep. The power to his home suddenly cut off as a light blub. He didn’t have any time to react to do anything before the sleep paralysis set in.

“Not again!” He thought with a scared look as the creature rapidly took off all of the blankets on his body. Then it flipped him on his back and readied to bite him. His cellphone lit up and made a sound that signaled to him for he got a text message. The creature unleashed an unholy shriek and quickly retreated into the darkness. His paralysis gone, and he grabbed his phone before it automatically turned off its screen.

“Thanks, Celestria.” Spike stated with a big deep breath as he checked who text him. It was his marefriend (Rainbow Dash). They dated for a long time now. Her text was, ‘Good night, I love you, honey.’ It warmed his heart that every time she texted that to him. He replied to her text and kept his cellphone on.

“This creature hate light. The light will keep me safe from it.” He realized with a glad expression. He hoped his phone’s battery would last until the morning before falling into sleep.

The next day afternoon, Spike discovered why'd his power cut out. The reason was a power pole fell down somehow. The power company told everyone that it would be a couple of days until they fixed the power. Now, he was at the closest Bit Tree to buy a lot of flashlights, batteries, and glow sticks. He wore a trench coat to hid his freshly wrapped chest wound from anyone sight because he didn't want to listen to their questions about it now.

He grabbed a shopping bucket and went straight to his wanted items section. A few moments later, the stallion cashier was bored out of his mind and hated his bucking job. He only hoped a mare would take him as her boyfriend soon. So, he would live a more comfortable life than this. Spike put his bucket that filled to the rim with stuff beside the worker. The cashier nonchalantly scanned his stuff and put it into a plastic bag. Then Spike used his Celestial card to pay his items before grabbing his bag and left the shop.

He was about near his house.

“Honey, I’m back from Wonderbolts. I really like it if I spend my day-offs with you at my place. I got a big surprise.” Rainbow Dash exclaimed with the biggest smile on her face as she hovered beside him.

“Sound good to me. We need to stop by my powerless home to get more gauze for my chest wound. A sort of creature is bitting me during the night. The last night, I discovered that it hates any light by my phone turned on from your text.” Spike replied honestly.

“Ok, thanks, Celestria, for I texted you when I did. I don’t want you in not any more pain because of it. If it can fly, I’m bucking sure that I’ll kill it. I want to see your wound when we made it to my home.” She vowed protectively as they headed in the direction of his home.

At Rainbow’s place, Spike removed his trench coat and unwrapped the lightly bloody gauze. Dash saw the wound was a big and jagged bite0 that had fresh blood in it.

“Dang, it did you good, honey. It would be best if you didn’t move much until it gets healed.” She said softly before rewrapping up his chest with fresh gauze. “I rent The new Daring Do movie for us to watch.”

“Okay. I’m going to wait for you on the couch.” He stated as he walked and sat on the couch. She nodded her head and went to get everything that they needed for the movie. After a few moments later, she came back with sodas, popcorn, and candy. Then she put them on the table and pressed play on the movie before joining her boyfriend on the couch. Rainbow Dash’s favorite parts of the movie were its adrenaline-filled scenes. Otherwise, Spike’s favorite part was he would cuddle with his girl and her warm wing was around his body. When the movie was over, they had a delicious pizza dinner.

“After I go to the bathroom, I’ll give you your surprise.” Rainbow exclaimed with a smile, looking at him.

“Please. Can you take these glow sticks? In case of if the creature attacks me again.” Spike asked with a pleading expression as he waited for her to get uncracked glow sticks in his claw.

“Sure, honey.” She acquired sweety before taking them out of his claw with her wing and went to the bathroom. She didn’t go to the toilet, but she just needed an excuse to get his surprise ready for him. She grabbed an exotic neck ware box that hid in her another wing and put it on the counter. Then Dash opened it up to reveal a cloudy colored collar that got jewel spike with every color of the rainbow. It was her engagement and marriage collar. It was pricey as buck, but it was well-worthed to her. She wanted to marry Spike due to they were perfect for each other to her. After putting her collar on the very first time, she made a lot of various expressions until the power cut off some reason.

“Hon……….” She said as she saw the jagged mouth and a long tongue that completely covered with Spike’s blood all over them. She immediately realized their owner was invisible and still fed her future husband. Unfortunately for it, it tortured and preyed on the wrong mare’s sweetie. Rainbow Dash cracked glow sticks with her wing and ran to it while yelling, and her vision was blood red. The creature was struck hard in its head by her and cowardly retreated into the darkness. She looked at Spike and realized that he passed out and bled profusely. After she called for an ambulance, she would try her darnest to stop him from bleeding to death. This today would be the happiest day of her life. However, this creature completely ruined it. She hated it due to it might take her honey away from her. Rainbow Dash promised to herself and Spike that would to be some kind of light source near them now and future while they slept.
