"You're a great singer, you know that?" Pinkie said wistfully.
Princess Skystar's melody was interrupted by an equally musical bout of giggling. "Oh, not as good as you, silly."
"No," Pinkie whined. Her own eyes drifted shut, and she let her head drop to her marefriend's chest. "You're so beautiful. And your voice is so beautiful. And I can't believe I'm with somepony as beautiful as you."
"Back attcha, then," Sky teased, more giggles dripping from the ends of her words.
She reached up to scratch affectionately at Pinkie's jaw with her talons. Pinkie leaned into the gentle motion, beaming all the while. She knew exactly how lucky she was to be dating a creature with claws instead of hooves.
The hippogriffs, after all, tended to keep to themselves. It wasn't really anything serious; just a reflection and consequence of their time isolated from the rest of the creatures of the world. Few ponies would ever be so lucky as to enjoy the benefits of the extra appendages.

"Agh, I know." Skystar covered her eyes with her claws, slowly drawing them downwards and pulling her lower eyelids into an expression of exasperation. "It's just that-- well, it's hard for me to get around when I have a tail instead of… legs."
"I know…" Pinkie rolled off of her marefriend and flopped onto the bed beside her. "But I'd really like to kiss you more often."
"You kiss me plenty!"
"On the lips, Sky!" Pinkie threw her hooves up in the air. "I wish I could kiss you on the lips way more often!"
Skystar rolled onto her side to face her marefriend more directly. "I can't keep using the pearl just to have you over. That's kind of irresponsible."
"I know…" Pinkie folded her forelegs over her chest. "But it's so fun! Especially for makin' whoopie!"
Sky snorted in laughter and gave her marefriend a playful shove. "Quit it, Pinkie!"
Pinkie razzed. "No way!"
The girls tussled with one another a little longer, but quickly came apart once more.
"It's okay," Pinkie said, her tone suggesting that this wasn't the least bit okay, but she would be willing to put up with it. "I get it. I wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable."
Skystar rolled onto her stomach. "We'll just have to get more creative, right?"
She chuckled to herself, using one wing to guide a single feather all the way up from Pinkie's stomach to her chin.
Pinkie seemed distant, though. "Um… what do you mean?"
Sky withdrew her wing. "Oh. I just meant…" the embarrassment overwhelmed her again. "Well, I dunno. We're smart, right? We can come up with a solution."
"Yeah…" Pinkie agreed softly. She appeared to be lost in thought, then suddenly screwed up her face in confusion. "Wait, nk! You were going to say something specific!"
"N-no I wasn't!" Skystar spluttered.
Pinkie drew in a comically deep gasp. "You were, too!" She rolled onto her stomach and settled her head in her hooves, much like a filly listening to gossip at a slumber party. "Spill, Sky!"
Skystar blushed even more fiercely and turned her head away from Pinkie. "No, no… i-it's silly…"
"So am I, but you still love me!" Pinkie beamed cheesily. "Right?"
Skystar giggled softly. "Yeah…"
"Right?" Pinkie hummed, nuzzling her marefriend's cheek.
"Of course I love you," Skystar relented.
"Great!" Pinkie exclaimed with her usual camp-counselor brightness. "Then tell me all your dirty, little secrets! Especially the silly ones!"
Sky put her head down on the pillow and sighed lightly. "Okay. I did have one idea."
Pinkie scooted closer to her marefriend, eyes wide and unblinking. "Mm-hm…"
"Well," Sky began in a huff, "the hippogriffs have a story about a kind of monster that lives in the sea."
"Ooh!" Pinkie clapped her hooves together. "Spooky, sexy fantasy!"
"Pinkie!" Sky scolded.
Pinkie giggled and pressed her hooves over her mouth. "Sorry, sorry."
Sky huffed again, tossing her mane in a manner which was not the least bit casual. "The monsters are called sirens," she explained. "They look a lot like us, but they have these magical singing voices that lure in unsuspecting ponies. Somewhere in there they… I dunno, I guess they have sex. I was never really clear on that part…"
Pinkie said nothing, as promised, just widened her eyes by another impossible degree.
"Well, anyway," Sky continued, "I was thinking we could find a nice, secluded beach and… I could play the siren."
Pinkie's eyes seemed to begin glittering on command, but she dutifully kept her mouth zipped shut.
"You can talk now, Pinkie," Sky said with a chuckle.
"Ohmigosh, that is such a great idea!" Pinkie exclaimed. She reached out and grabbed onto her marefriend with one hoof. "That way you can stay in the water, and I can stay pony! Perfect!"
"You think so?" Sky asked softly.
"Yes! It'll be the perfect day out with my marefriend. Or, ooh!" Pinkie pulled her partner close. "My… mer-friend. Eh?"
Sky clucked her tongue.
She loved it, though.
Pinkie Pie felt very exposed.
Not that she wasn't always this way-- in fact, Pinkie was never one for clothes when she could avoid it. A gala dress here, a themed costume there… but, without occasion, she preferred to go natural. One less thing to think about in the morning, right?
This was different, though. A very, very different sort of nude.
It was much like the difference between taking a shower and wearing one of those papery hospital gowns; in the shower, it felt perfectly normal. In the gown, however…
Pinkie peeked over the top of the boulder once more, surveying the beach for any sign of life-- pony or otherwise. All she caught a glimpse of was a crab scuttling through the washed-up kelp.
She breathed a sigh of relief, sinking back down into her sandy divot and staring out at the ocean.
It was a cold day. And windy. And a little rainy. They had picked this day on purpose, because, frankly, nopony likes to take a trip to the beach on a day that's windy, cold, and rainy. That was all well and good, but Pinkie's skin was beginning to feel kind of clammy and uncomfortable. The wind whipped a little harsher, and Pinkie Pie braced against it. Just behind the sound of the wind, however, she heard it: singing.
Well, if you could call it singing. It was more like the haunting cry of a lone whale (though admittedly in a much higher register). Not exactly tuneless, but not really carrying a melody, either.
The shape dove into the waves.
Pinkie craned her neck, trying to catch another glimpse of the creature, but she could hardly see through her own messy mane as the wind battered it about her face.
Desperately, Pinkie pulled her mane away from her cheeks, watching the crests of the waves break against the rock where the creature had once perched. Nothing else seemed to happen.
The tide surged a bit, and the salty-smelling water lapped at Pinkie's rear hooves.
The pony nickered to herself in disappointment and slid all the way down onto her back in the sand. The water hovered around her hocks, but managed to tickle much higher as waves broke on the shore.
Pinkie hated to admit it, but this wasn't turning out at all like she'd hoped. She didn't even think she was the slightest bit aroused anymore, just… annoyed. And uncomfortable. And confused.
She just wanted to be with her marefriend again. Even if that meant an unkissable beak.

Sky rose just a bit higher in the water, which parted over her head like sheer silk. She bobbed with the waves as easily as a buoy.
Pinkie very slowly withdrew one of her rear hooves and tried to push herself into a more upright position.
Sky did not move. Did not blink.
It was starting to dawn on Pinkie that she was going to have to find a way to play along in this little fantasy, a role which she had not truly considered until this moment. Did Sky expect her to say something? It was so hard to tell, her eyes were blank and glassy, absent of all motivation.
Except maybe for hunger.

She really had to lean into it, Pinkie noticed; she extended her neck forward in such a way that must have opened her entire throat up to the sound. And the ocean water.
Her bioluminescent light cast a strange, ghostly tone over her face.
Pinkie curled into herself all the more. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she actually felt sort of… scared.
A tingly scared.
A good scared?
Skystar ended her brief song, and powered herself forward with just a few quick strokes of her massive tail.
Pinkie scrabbled against the sand until her back was against the large stone she'd selected as cover. It was somehow colder and clammier than her skin.
Skystar's body emerged from the water.
There would have been no trouble believing that this creature was a siren. The princess had shed her usual jewelry in favor of an elaborate draping of thick, salty belts of kelp. It was only when Skystar straddled Pinkie--when they were absolutely nose to nose--that even a shadow of familiarity crossed the hippogriff's face.
The girls stared at one another.
Pinkie could feel her own heart thudding against her ribcage. She felt that, if she drew her hooves away from her mouth, she may just bust out laughing.
And so she sat, frozen perfectly still, each shaking breath bringing her closer to losing it.
She is the element of laughter, after all.
Skystar knew this, of course, and wasted no time in getting to her point.
"I know what you want," the princess whispered. Her breath was warm and wet on Pinkies snout. Her very voice seemed to stick there upon her face.
A different voice.
A voice that made Pinkie bristle from something other than the chill.
As if on cue, the sea wind whipped up and swirled over and through the pair of ponies on the shore. It made Pinkie shiver. Still, she did not move or speak. She may not have even breathed.
Sky lifted one hoof and just barely grazed Pinkie's ribcage with a strangely firm flipper.
This earned a long, shuddering breath.
Sky continued to trail downwards, her fin tracing along the delicate lines of her marefriend's body, until she reached the rising slope of her hind leg. In one swift movement, she forced the leg open and down.
Pinkie made a strangled sound--something between a gasp and a moan--and plunged one front hoof into the sand.
The wind was cold and wet as it danced over Pinkie's exposed marehood. She bit down on her lip to keep from making sound, yet a few desperate whimpers still escaped.
A strange new look crossed Skystar's face. It wasn't quite lust, nor was it any sort of glee over the dazzled sparkle in Pinkie's eyes.
It was hunger. Pure and ravenous.
Pinkie could not pull her eyes away from her marefriend. Even as the wind blew over her throbbing clitoris, even as she tried to slowly extricate herself from her marefriend's grip, even as Skystar's eyes darkened like storm clouds over the ocean, Pinkie could not look away.

Familiarity vanished.

The ocean surged, and chilly saltwater climbed up around Pinkie's stomach. As it drained away, it ran down between her legs, trickling tantalizingly over her marehood.
Skystar must have seen the lustful glint in her prey's eyes. She pulled Pinkie down further, further, as if she were planning to take her out to sea.

Skystar watched carefully, not making any move to continue until she heard--

The hippogriff scooped one fin under Pinkie's shoulder and hoisted her off the ground another inch or so.
"Is that a yes?" she hissed into her prey's ear.
Pinkie squealed in delight. "Yes! Yes!" she squeaked in reply, kicking her back hooves against the sound with a feverish energy.
Skystar let a smirk play over her lips before snarling "hold on" and whipping around to face the ocean.
Before Pinkie had time to get her bearings, Skystar dove into the ocean. The ponies flew through the water, chest-to-chest, and Pinkie started to realize that she'd hardly taken a breath.
Skystar was paying attention, though. In one smooth motion, she rolled upside down and allowed Pinkie to breach the surface of the water for a gulp of air. Here they stayed, Pinkie gleefully taking in the fresh air as it rushed past her and Skystar gliding through the open waters with the grace of a dolphin.
In fact, as Skystar's tail pumped rhythmically up and down, Pinkie couldn't help but appreciate the steady pressure on her nethers.
Keeping her eyes locked with Skystar's, Pinkie allowed herself to fall back towards her hips and opened her hind legs a little more.

Pinkie swallowed. "Uh… Sky?" she forced a nervous chuckle as she looked down into the murky water, searching for any sign of motion. "Sky? Y'there? Y-you've been down there a--"
And the pressure returned.
Pinkie's words died in her throat as she felt herself being lifted through the water, gently turned until her round, pink stomach breached the surface and her marefriend reappeared.

"Oh, yeah?" Skystar smirked. "And what's that?"
"Next time, I get to be the monster."
