Lies of Solaris
Chapter 6 - Reliving a Past Unkown
Previous ChapterChapter 6 - Reliving a past unknown.
Everdawn and Astronimas trotted next to Luna and gestured to the door behind her,as luna turned around she watched as the young celestia walked in and decided it best not to pry,but to simply follow after a light trot into the room with her parents at her side luna inspected the scene she was looking at.
Orange light fell from the singular, large, cathedral window in the room, the stained glass depicting two alicorns, one jet black and one snow white with blazing hair, circling the moon and the sun at each others side, almost immediately this clicked to luna and she realized that this was her mother and fathers castle, she was baffled now as she imagined what it looked like now, decrepit and ugly grey in the dangerous everfree forest, one look out the window would confirm that they were indeed surrounded by forest but something about it looked...tame....peaceful...completely unlike it was in her time.
Turning her attention away from the window she focused her attention on the people in the room. There were a few doctors in the room still, talking lightly away in the corners of the room, and a few in the hall now.Celestia was their as well, sitting lightly on her haunches on a cushion just to the left side of a very big curtained bed,of which nothing could be seen accept from her angle as the rest of the drapes were closed.
Luna very slowly moved over next to her sister, still retaining the urge to say anything or touch her sister as she stepped closer.Turning her eyes away from her sister,it was then that she saw it.A slightly younger everdawn lay lightly in the bed,her mane a shade darker orange than it was when luna turned to look at her mother now,she also seemed a little bit more slender but that was trivial.on her left side would be an equally young astronimas, his mane with a slightly noticeably less amount of stars and a shade of lighter blue, his body seeming also less jet black and more ash or onyx then anything, but this was not what luna was staring so intently at anymore.
In everdawns arms, where the mare lightly panted and her chest heaved lightly, was the source of lunas curiosity. In her arms lay a familiar midnight blue coated bundle, wings still closed to her back and horn only the size of a baby carrot, eyes full of color with unrecognized pupils as foals always had,but it was the color that made it click to her,the eyes, full of bright, beaming turquoise...they were hers..and it was then that she turned back to her parents, starring at them in true, utter disbelief.
Astronimas would be the first to speak, looking on the scene with knowing eyes as he gave a small smile
“It was one of the happiest moments of my long life...Dawn had already given me a strong daughter to inherit her sun....and now she gave me another to tend over my gentle moon and stars, truely their was nothing else that could have made me happier in my life then that.”
Dawn kept quiet as she smiled very warmly, memories of joy clearly coming over her.
Light tears ran down lunas eyes as she turned and moved even closer, looking down at her smaller self, the tiny foal gave a slight yawn and appeared to be asleep, curled deeply against her mother's chest as she let out a soft purr,Astronimas and Everdawn cooing over her lightly and celestia even looked happy, which was a change from her usual neutral regal expression.
“What do you want to name her honey...?” Dawn said weakly.
The young Astonimas gave a hum of thinking and didn’t speak for a while, yet once he was done he gave a slight smile and leaned down to nuzzle the sleeping foal lightly “Lunara...or...Luna..for short...”
Everdawn would smile and repeat this action lightly and celestia would speak for the first time since they had gotten here.
“Mother...is she going to replace me?” She seemed calm other than the slight quake of fear, and a hint of anger in her voice.
Everdawn looked over at her eldest daughter in a slight disbelief for a moment before shaking her head
“Tia....why would you ever think that? You and Luna will rule together when that time comes, but this is not to happen for many a year,so why do you worry?”
The young solar princess would start to show her displeasure as she heard the word “together”
“But you and father said....that i would rule on my own once i came of age...you promised!”
At the yell, the young Luna would stir slightly and get the beginnings of a sob as she squirmed in her mother’s forelegs, whimpering and whining in discomfort as Everdawn would rock her lightly while looking,a slight bit angrily at celestia
“Tia...hold your tongue!.....your father and I did say that, yes, but that was when you were an only child...it is the right of passage in this kingdom that you two will share, since you are both immortal,i want no harsh words at this.Am i understood celestia?” Everdawn said as she looked on in wait for her response, still rocking the young luna in her forelegs
Celestia gave a slight growl of anger as she turned her gaze to her father, looking pleadingly “F-father please! you promised me....s-surely mother is just mistaken..right? You both swore on your crowns t-that once i had proved myself....i-it’d be my right alone!”
Luna began to sob lightly at the new waves of loud noises, wailing lightly the way foals did as Everdawn would hug the bundle to her chest lightly and making slight shushing sounds as Astronimas kept her calm look as he sighed.
“Your mother is not mistaken...and as my daughter, you will listen to her,no objections.”
Celestia gaped at her father and went to retaliate “B-but father you pr-!”
The young princess froze in place as Astonimas placed his cold turquoise dragon eyed gaze onto celestia, the calm composure faltering for a moment to show his anger as he growled out lightly “No....Objections.....Am i understood...?” his voice echoed slightly and upon hearing this light tears ran down celestia's cheeks as she gave a hard huff of anger and stormed out of the room, the her galloping would be heard for a while down the marble halls until it dissipated.
At this the room would distort and swirl lightly back into the white nothingness that the space was when luna entered, she stood their in shocked disbelief at all that she had just seen, she blunk a couple of times for clarity before looking back up at her mother and father
Everdawn had on a happy but distant smile as the old memories flashed back to her,one could even say she was content,in a sad sort of way.
Astronimas simply looked back at her, Luna was truly unsure of what her father could possibly be thinking, He wore the look of neutrality that Celestia proudly boasted now a days. But you could obviously tell He was much more practiced in its use. After a long couple of moments he finally spoke.
“That's....where it started...whether or not shes gotten over it after all these years, that is for you to judge my child...”
Luna knew the answer almost immediately, Celestia had not gotten over it, she was rarely let out of the castle, always put on the back burner, never allowed to participate in political affairs,as if she held no rank and was a guest in her own home, awaiting to be evicted. This is how she knew...her sister had never gotten over anything to due with her.
It was then that the space started to distort again and her father was bringing them into another memory.
