Play for Nightmare Theme...
Prologue: Sinful Dreams
It was an afternoon in the land of Equestria, all Equestrians were simply going about their days, the clouds floated by peacefully, the sun was as bright as ever, and there was no conflict to ruin their days.
Save one...
Canterlot...
In her bed chamber, a certain Princess of the Night was sleeping, but her dreams were troubling as she was moaning in her sleep and whimpering for the dream she was witnessing...
All around was absolute darkness and an endless void, no signs of life to be found, no structures to be seen for miles, and nothing but maddening whispers to accompany the surrounding shroud.
Luna was walking through the vast darkness and only tried to ignore the maddening whispers in her head, the taunts of the nightmare that once controlled her were renewed, the fear that her subjects showed her as they thought her to be Nightmare Moon still...
But even her nightmare's voice wasn't even comparable to another voice that made her heart scream in guilt and sadness, her eyes wet from tears given to the voice that become more potent.
"Why did you leave me?"
"Why do you not believe me?"
"Why do they hate me?"
"Why did you betray me?"
But the one question that struck her the most beyond compare, was the final question she ever heard from the voice.
"M-Mom... W-Why?"
Luna couldn't bare it anymore as she slumped to the ground on her forelegs.
"Because little beast... You were never my child..." The cruelty and sinister tone of Nightmare's voice was haunting and cold, no signs of remorse or love for the child lingered in her heart anymore.
Luna was simply in sorrow and self-cursing for what she did to her little one.
She hid her face in her hooves as the little one's voice kept saying the same heart-wrenching word; Mom.
But this nightmare was not over yet as Luna suddenly felt herself under a small pillar of light shrouded by black branches above.
In front of her she saw many of her sister's subjects sneering or staring at him in dislike, making him feel scared and uncomfortable.
"Can you believe Princess Luna actually keeps that thing?" One of them whispered.
"Yeah, what would she want with a little dragon anyway? She already has a pet." Whispered another.
"If I ever came across the egg he was in, I would've just left it where it was."
"Why?"
"Well one; I don't even know how to raise a dragon. And two; I don't want to be the kind of pony that seems very odd and strange to others. I mean, not trying to insult the princess here, but having a dragon just makes me feel like a Dragon-Lover."
"Heh heh, true that..." And with that the vision ended.
Luna would've been furious as much as she was sad, hearing the commoners whisper about her child like that? No wonder he was always depressed and anti-social, feeling doubts that she even wanted him or felt ashamed of even having him here.
Then another vision come when a group of young ponies came up to the dragon and grinned wickedly at him.
"Hey there little guy, whatcha got there?" One of them asked.
The little dragon didn't respond and simply turned away from them, but that only let one of the unicorns grab his little object and hold it high above him.
He cried and whimpered as he wanted it back.
"Awww, does the little guy want his dolly back? You'll have to catch it first!" The little filly taunted as she threw the object at her friends.
A pegasus caught it and threw it over to an earth pony while the dragon was trying get it back. The earth pony got it and threw it back to the unicorn.
The process continued as the dragon tried to get it back. But when he's just about had enough he stopped in front of the unicorn and waited till she had it again. When she did, the dragon spat this blue saliva in her face.
"Ah! Ew ew ew ew!" She cried as she dropped the object, allowing the dragon take it back.
The unicorn wiped off the saliva and glared at the dragon angrily. "Nopony and no one messes with my mane!" Then she slapped the dragon hard in the face, leaving a red mark on his cheek.
"Ooh! That's gotta hurt." The pegasus said.
"Yeah... But it does look fun." The earth pony said.
"Well..." The unicorn picked up the dragon by his tail and held him high. "Be my guest." She grinned.
The earth pony simply looked at the dragon until he slapped him as well. "Hey! That felt a lot better than my punching bag!"
"No no no! Let me do it." The pegasus flew up to the dragon and punched him in snout.
Then the unicorn gasped. "How dare you!?"
The pegasus was confused.
"Keeping this little guy to yourselves when we should be sharing him."
The two were catching on and sneered evilly. "I like your idea... Who's up for dragon brawler?"
Then the group suddenly started slapping and punching the dragon in different parts, making him screech in pain with each hit, and they even bucked him sometimes. They kept assaulting him while he curled into a ball and screeched endlessly as he was enduring this awful pain.
Luna knew she could do nothing as this was only a vision in her dream, but nonetheless she cried and sobbed into her legs as she heard her child screeching and basically crying out to her.
"Alright, I think that's enough." The earth pony said.
"Heh, alright, let's go." Said the unicorn, then the group walked off as they laughed sinisterly. The dragon simply whimpered and whimpered loudly in pain from the blows the group were inflicting on him earlier. Then the same process proceeded as the vision changed to Luna's pony children inflicting the same pain on him as well during the time of Nightmare Moon.
And with that, the vision ended.
Luna was simply in pieces as these horrible memories were being played in front of her, her heart just aching and screaming without end.
Then the worst memories of them all... her memories...
Nightmare Moon was inflicting her own abuse on the dragon who was now a little older by blasting at him while also throwing him around her personal chamber.
Then of course that one day when she decided to blind him by stabbing his eyes. Nightmare held a knife with her magic as she shot it at the dragon's eyes, making Luna gasp loudly and cover her own.
Then the vision of Nightmare's followers and creatures abusing him in all kinds of ways, throwing things, whipping him, spitting on his once glistening light blueish-purple scales, and if he walked in the wrong direction, he would either be punched or bucked back into place.
Then Luna looked up to see that Nightmare Moon slapped him, but in turn the dragon bared his claws and swiped her cheek, causing her to shout in pain.
But Luna felt rather pleased that her child did that, feeling that she deserved it after all.
Then Nightmare left with an infuriated expression, leaving the dragon to weep and slump on his knees as he covered his face, crying tears and just wanting all of this to end.
And at last, the last memory of when Luna ever saw him...
Nightmare held a knife in with her magic, and then proceeded to hold the dragon by his wings and tear them off.
Luna simply looked away and sobbed.
Then she heard the dragon screech again when she heard flesh separating from the body and bones cracking as well, and finally... The final blow of a gash left across his very torso.
"M-Mom........ W-Why....?" He sobbed quietly.
"Because, little beast... You... were never my child." And with that, the dragon breathed his last sobbing breathe... and died.
Luna simply sobbed and cried as she witnessed the death of her child at her hooves.
Then she heard quiet mist rising from behind her. She rose up and looked behind her, seeing a pair of shapes form in the mist.
Then... the eyes opened...
Luna suddenly gasped loudly as she shot up and breathed rapidly before trying to calm down.
Luna simply plopped back on her bed and started crying, saying the one name she hoped to one day hear again.
".... Nu-u-tron....."
