Dragonbourne
#16 Screech of Evil (Gore)
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSpike was glad that he, and the other's were able to get far away from Lioness City, as fast as they could. Spike didn't know why, but he had a bad feeling that he just couldn't shake. He was thinking that a Demon dragon was coming after them. After the destruction, and the chaos that the Demon dragon's themselves caused.....traveling to villages, and wreaking havoc on many other creatures hoping for The Dragonbourne to come across where they were at so that they could destroy him. That wasn't happening at all, it was just quiet....too quiet, and Spike didn't like it....not one bit.
Rarity, and Chrysalis moved the kart that had all of their supplies with them. Even though the kart itself was heavy, and still wasn't something grand, they went around carrying their stuff for them to use. It carried their food, water, and even the stuff that they would use when it came to sleeping in an empty cave. Spike continued on either way, as it really didn't bother him that much. Spike was on guard, sensing something being off, as his instinct's kicked in. Rarity was glad that she was traveling with Spike, being with him had made her feel a little more safer.
More weirdly for her was why she was fighting these....unusal urges that she seemed to be having, but she seemed to shake it off. Spike suddenly sensed danger, before the loudest screech ever heard in the form of a seismic soundwave was blasted at Spike, as he slammed into a bunch of nearby tree's that collapsed from his brutal impact. "SPIKEY!!!!!!!!" Rarity screamed.
"MASTER!!!!!!!!" Chrysalis also cried out, both mare's being extremely worried, after seeing Spike take the hit. Nightstalker landed on his talon clawed feet with a sinister evil in his eyes, as he cackled at the enemy he had all to himself.
"Your senses are sharp, Dragonbourne, I'd thought it would be a lot harder for me to take you down." The Bat dragon growled, as Spike got up from the attack. He looked down at his body with complete suprise, as he wasn't covered head to toe in bruises. He only growled angrily, as he stared at the demon dragon who was in front of him.
"So your a Demon dragon as well, I'm surpised that they sent someone like you against me, are you an actual challenge, or are you expendable like the other foot soldier's I killed" Spike asked, as he spit out some of his purple Demon dragon blood from his maw, as Nightstalker bore his fang's, and cackled.
"You've killed all of the Demon dragon foot soldier's that our master could deploy which has made you, an even bigger annoyance than just being a thorn in our side's.....luckily for you, their are plenty of powerful Demon dragon general's who wilil be more than happy on tearing you apart if my mission fail's, but don't worry Dragonbourne......I am going to bring your severed head to my king when I'm done with you" Nightstalker snarled, getting in a battle stance with his wing's primed.
"Is that a fact now?" Spike asked, as he got into a battle stance, while both Chrysalis, and Rarity kept their distance. Spike got the little dragon out to fuse with his body, giving him his wing's. Spike knew this was going to be a tough battle, this new type of Demon dragon seemed much tougher than the other foot soldier's he faced, but if he had to kill all of the general's that the Demon sent to eliminate just him, then it would be better if he did so. Spike let his sword transform into the platinum katana he carried, as he readied for battle.
Nightstalker let out his ear pearcing screcch, as Spike used his newfound speed to dodge the soundwave, and used a singe powerful slice, as he slashed at the Demon dragon. The Bat dragon managed to see the attack coming, and blocked the attack from Spike, but was knocked a few miles back, crashing through a few tree's. Nightstalker re-calibrated his footing, as then used his wing's to fly high into the sky before summoning Asteroid's mile's high in space, and rained them down at Spike.
He knew this attack, as Spike used his newfound speed, to fly at hyper wind's, slicing each asteroid in half with his powerful platinum blade before heading straight for Nightstalker. The Bat dragon knew he was in trouble, and needetd to think of an attack, but time was running out. The general stopped flapping his wing's, letting him dive fast enough to miss Spike's counter attack. Spike looked down seeing that he hit empty air, as Nightstalker continued to dive before unleashing the Grim Reaper attack that many of the other foot soldier's used.
The attack was fast enough to quickly strike Spike with powerful cut's from the Grim Reaper's scythe.....the third slice sending Spike careening to the ground, hitting it with a brutal crash. The same thing happened to Nightstalker, as he was unable to pull up in time from his huge suprise attack, also hitting the ground with a brutal crash. Both impact's made huge crater's on the ground, as both Rarity, and Chrysalis were even wondering if Spike was alive. For a few minute's the battlefield was silent, as both of them were still recovering from their attack's.
Spike was the first to get up, as he groaned, feeling the pain all over his body. He looked down at his albino white scale's seeing the cut's he had gotten from the Demon dragon's attack, and a lot of ugly bruises from the impact he took. Purple demon blood oozed from his body, as he was clutching his chest. Nightstalker also rose from his crash, having a few broken bone's in his body, as was one of his wing's, leaving him grounded. Nightstalker saw that Spike was still alive, as he breathed, and snarled, looking at the half-breed with pure hatred in his body.
The Demon dragon stepped forward toward's Spike, as The Dragonbourne saw that the Demon dragon general was still kicking. He readied himself for battle, knowing that his enemy was weak. Nightstalker had one last shot, that he could still pull off. If he let his volume rise the loudest then his ear piercing screech could vaporize the half-breed. Nightstalker took a deep breath then let his screech unleash, knocking Spike back with his powerful attack, but because of Spike's superspeed he managed to not only fight through the pain, but found strength in his feet, and power's.
Nightstalker was too slow.....much too slow, as he charged at full speed going from behind, and impaling the bat dragon at where his spine was. The screeching stopped, as he gasped loudly, feeling his body giving out with the ethereal magic blade, destroying it. Spike took out the sword, and sheathed it, before millon's of cut's were revealed all over his body which soon became an explosion of blood, and gut's which stained the grass.
Spike gasped, as he collapsed onto his knees from the deadly battle, breathing heavily, while feeling the pain in his body. Both Rarity, and Chrysalis rushed to Spike who was getting his knee's wet from the exploded remnant's of what used to be Nightstalker. "Don't worry Spikey....we'll take care of you" Rarity told them, as they each got him on the kart, and traveled a few miles to an empty cave that they would use, as shelter for the night.

Rarity was busy patching up Spike with how the night itself was, as Spike barely had enough strength to light a small fire. Chrysalis was keeping guard....just in case another Demon dragon general was going to find them. Rarity could see the blood, and small scar's on his body that he had from previous battle's, as she looked at Spike with concern in her eye's. Spike was actually glad that Rarity was here, and it was nice seeing the beautiful unicorn mare caring for him. "Are your battle's alway's like this?" Rarity asked, as Spike spoke, while Chrysalis listened in.
"Not alway's....the first two types of Demon dragon's that I fought were mere foot soldier's....they were easy. I managed to match their abilities, or be fast enough to evade them. The third type of Demon dragon's of the foot soldier's I fought when I first encountered them were powerful enough to deal some serious damage to me, and I passed out. It took a tribe of Kirin's to heal me, and my fewer battles with the other new types of Demon dragon foot soldier's were much easier. Those battle's only gave me a few deep cut's which I was able to heal from after Chrysalis patched me up"
Spike explained, as Chrysalis spoke up.
"He was the only one who was nice to me, and helped heal me when I was broken, of course I was going to patch my Master up" Chrysalis winked before continuing to watch for any more Demon dragon general's.
"The Demon dragon I just fought seemed like he was powerful enough to be a general, but I'm guessing not the strongest out of all of them. A combination of a bat Demon, and a dragon seemed like a deadly combination, but despite one being the same, his Asteroid attack was similar to the one the third type of Demon dragon soldier's had. What made him deadly was he had an attack specific to his genetic's. That screeching attack being his preferable weapon"
Spike explained, as Chrysalis was also picking up on what Spike was explaining. "Similar to a bat's sonar.....that would be so cool if it didn't belong to a Demon dragon." Chrysalis growled, as Spike looked at the star's.
"That only make's me worried for what else might come from their race" Spike said, as after a few more hour's none of the Demon dragon general's found them again, as all of them managed to get their camping bed's ready. Spike blew out the fire that Chrysalis had set with a backup matchbox, while Rarity used her magic to make a protective magical barrier to keep them safe, and sound for the night.
