Dragonbourne

After what had happened in the cave, Rarity, and Spike were more cheery than ever. Chrysalis, and Rarity were also more chatty than usual, as the two mare's were not only becoming more fond of each other, but also started to enjoy each other's company, or at least decided to try. Rarity had felt her horn glowing in a way that was used to find gem's, but this time it was in the form of a golden, and dark purple color, similar to Spike's scales, and weapon's. Rarity was using the x-ray vision she had when it came to finding these beauties to scan for this Dragonbourne gem.

They journeyed into another empty cave that held something Spike had never seen before. It looked like a shrine that was sculpted in favor of the Dragonbourne, each statue there mimicing the power's, or stances of the Dragonbourne itself. Not only was the cave completely cool, but the entire sculpture, and shrine which generated most of the cave was made of ice. At the center of the shrine was the Dragonbourne gem itself. This gem looked completely frozen solid, but was glowing in color. When Rarity went up to it, a small golden spark lit up with power, as the defenses of the place powered down, exposing the gem.

Rarity grabbed the Dragonbourne gem, as all of them looked at it with a glow of power. "Got it" Rarity smiled, as Chrysalis looked at it with curiosity.

"Another Dragonbourne gem....you found it, but.....how?" Chrysalis asked, as Rarity shrugged.

"I don't know Chrysalis, I felt like the urge to find a gem, It led me here....I think the map that "Ringmaster" pony had...fused with my gem finding spell, so I can find these gem's, while they are active.....the real question is.....why was the gem in this place, and why is there a shrine dedicated for Spike?" Rarity asked, as both mare's turned to Spike. He seemed more out of it than them, as he went up, and felt the ice made statues. "S-Spikey.....is something wrong?" Rarity asked, as for a minute Spike closed his eye's, feeling, an untold power pulse from the shrine before he opened his eye's, and spoke.

"I think it wasn't an accident that you found these gem's Rarity, I think these were built for me, and these shrine's are a way of the gem, calling out to me.....through you" Spike explained, as Rarity looked down at the gem with a peculiar look in her eye's wondering why the gem chose her to locate it. Draco appeared on Spike's end on the sword, as he spoke.

"Ice.....I think I might know what gem you are getting, but then again I could be wrong, there are many different type's of elemental Dragonbourne gem's that will infuse with your power, Spike....even a few ice one's" Draco informed him before turning back into a regular sword handle.

"So....where are we going to apply this gem on you Master?" Chrysalis asked, as Spike thought it over before speaking.

"Well, we can't exactly be in a village to apply the gem to me, and we can't exactly stay out in the open before another Demon Dragon General show's up....we'll have to apply the gem here" Spike told them, as Chrysalis pushed Rarity forward before speaking.

"The next two gem's we locate you get to apply to master, I'll stay here, and make sure that we don't get company" Chrysalis say's hastily, as she goes to the entrance, charging her Changeling magic. Rarity prepared to give the gem to Spike, but both of them didn't notice the male Ice dragon statue that looked like he was famous from dragon culture that was ectched with the shrine, but weren't worried about that, as they got to work.

"So....you mean to tell me that we sent a good General into battle with a destructive bat powered species, AND YOU TELL ME THAT NIGHTSTALKER HAS FAILED IN KILLING THE DRAGONBOURNE!?!?!?!?!?!?" The Demon Lord roared, as one of his loyal foot soldier's spoke.

"My liege, you know the power's Splitface had when he was with us, and the power his mother carried....The Dragonbourne's power's are unfathomable" The henchman stated, as The Demon Lord slammed his fist down on the arm of his throne, and roared.

"EXCUSE, AFTER EXCUSE......Send me a better General who can actually do his job at finding The Dragonbourne" The Demon Lord ordered, as the door's to the throne room opened with a Demon dragon general on the opposite side of the door, cracking a smile hearing those word's.

"Why don't you asssssk me my liege, I'm certain that when I come acrosssss The Dragonbourne, that he'll be sssssorry to ssssset eye'ssssssss on me" The Demon dragon general hissed, as The Demon Lord immedietly recognized the general that stepped into the room.

"Fang.......hahahahahahaha.......perfect" The Demon Lord cackled, as Fang entered the room. Fang was a very unique type of Demon dragon that had no wing's.....but due to his power's he really didn't need wing's. He was a serpent type of dragon, looking more like a Rattlesnake Serpentine than Demon dragon. His body had green, and yellow scale's with striped orange marking scales that went from the tip of his tail to his cobra shaped frill. His fang's were alway's exposed, and had some venomous magic to it, which had made him his own type of deadly general.

He had long, clawed arm's which carried a powerful, golden shaped snake staff that had a green gem inside of it. "Pleasssssse my liege, would you allow me to end thisssssss Dragonbourne myssssself, I have a toxic tasssste that I would love to ssssssink into hisssssss ssssssscalessssssss" Fang hissed with his serpent tongue.

"You know how to use your magic to find, and kill him Fang.....make sure your poison kill's him this time, I do not want you to come back, or hear you failed your task, by letting that half-breed kill you, as he did Nightstalker" The Demon Lord snarled, as Fang bowed.

"It sssssshall be done my lord" Fang nodded, as he used his serpent staff to teleport him to, or near where The Dragonbourne was currently at, as The Demon Lord once again waited to hear the new's of his enemie's demise.

Spike was hating having to lie on the icy cave floor, but he knew he had to bare through it in order for the gem to be applied to him. "Hold still Spikey, I can take care of this procedure" Rarity said soothingly, as he looked at her, and spoke.

"Ya better make it quick Rare's before we get any type of company" Spike warned her, as Rarity was sitting on him, to apply the gem. She merely nodded, even though he could't really see, or confirmed she was nodding, but understood. The frozen Dragonbourne gem was applied into the collar which turned it into a cold liquid that was injected into his body.

"BRRRRRR.....That is a very, very cold gem" Spike shivered, as he felt the same liquid magic form on his back, as the Anicent symbol split apart into a puzzle formation, and it was Rarity's job to decode it into the Number 4. She did this, being able to move the pieces of the hyroglyphic back, and forth to re-shape what she had in her hand's. Finally it morhped into the number it needed to be, as Rarity quickly rolled off Spike. The Dragon stood up, feeling the gem mutating his body, before giving him a newfound power.

Spike looked down, seeing that his sword had once again changed to be a color combination of both white, and blue, while also feeling a certain coldness to the weapon.

"Ah.....so that's the new power you got.....It's the Ice Sword, a deadly weapon which unleashes energy waves that achieve absolute zero, this will be a perfect weapon for you to use" Draco informed him before turning back into a talking sword, as Spike readied his powerful weapon.

"MASTER......WE'VE GOT COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!" Chrysalis shouted, as Spike immedietly raced outside with Rarity following to pursue, hoping that Spike would be ok. They all saw a huge green vortex appear, until finally it dissapated, revealing the new Demon dragon that had come to kill them. None of them suspected that it was a dragon, but that doesn't mean that this snake like being could not be a threat.

"I don't have time for an ordinary being like you, we are very busy....so how about you beat it" Spike snarled, as Fang laughed.

"Oh believe me Dragonbourne, I am here to kill you becaussssse I am another Demon dragon who issssss here to end your missssserable exissssssstence, I'm sssssssuprised that you were able to put Nightsssssstalker in the dirt, but I am not sssssso eassssy, assssss he wassssssss" Fang hissed, as he got into a battle stance. Spike motioned for Chrysalis, and Rarity to get back, as he got in his own battle stance, facing his opponent. Spike let his sword glow, as he created golden laser arrow's made of pure magical energy, and fired them at Fang.

The Snake Demon was able to dodge each arrow do to it's long coil's before launching himself off the ground, and headbutting Spike hard, launching him into the cave entrance which buried him completely. Fang knew that he wasn't dead, but was still on guard, and he was right to be. Spike bursted out of the rubble which sent exploded chunk's of rock everywhere, while his body glowed bright white with power. Fang fired a black goo from his mouth, that struck Spike's body, causing him to go down on his knee's, screaming, as he felt the goo trying to sizzle in his skin like acid.

Spike had to fight the poison, but he knew it was deadly, it felt like his entire body was rotting, but he needed to keep going. Spike immedietly had an idea, as he got the ice sword out, and froze the poison completely, giving him enough time to barely dodge the powerful Grim Reaper attack, that was fired at him.

The attack itself may have missed him, but it still his leg, causing Spike to hit the ground hard. Fang cackled before slithering over to him, as he began to squeeze Spike to death, after wrapping around his body, his coil's keeping him in a bind. "You are weak Dragonbourne today issssss the day you die" Fang hissed, as Spike was slowly losing consciousness....slowly fading away. In that moment, time seemed to freeze to a crawl. He couldn't breathe, or feel, Spike really wished that his time hadn't come, but soon felt some form of darkness take over his body.

At the same time the same Shadow being that Spike dreamt about, took control of Spike's mind. Transformed, the being looked at Fang with those blood red eyes's, and twisted smile, as it freed one of Spike's arm's with a shotgun in hand.

"VEEEEENNNNGEEEEEAAAAANNNNCCCCEEEEE!!!!!!!!!" The creature screamed, while squeezing the trigger, as hard as it could. The boom of a powerful gunshot rang, as a demon bullet clattered the ground, while Fang's head exploded everywhere in a mess of blood, and brain fluid which stained the ground. The shadow Demon let out more rage filled scream's, as it fired it's shotgun's into the snake's body, until exploding out of the snake's coil's, while pieces of shredded snake, and blood exploded everywhere.

What Rarity, and Chrysalis assumed was Spike stood there, the adrenaline pumping through his vein's. The shadow stabbed himself in the chest with his twisted claw's, and ripped the venomous black goo that was trying to kill him, out of his body, as he threw it to the ground which sizzled into the grass. The Shadow being transformed back into Spike's Dragonbourne form, as he passed out immedietly with Rarity, and Chrysalis rushing over to tend to him.
