Prologue: The Worst Mistake you Clicked on Today.

SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW

PROLOGUE
*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*
*SMASH*
“Stupid clock.” Murmured a pegasus mare.
Rainbow Dash groggily got out of bed after breaking her alarm clock with all her force, which has become a regular thing since her teen years. Taking a mental note to buy a new one later, the mare checked her surroundings; taking in everything around her.
After having that feeling of remembering who, what, and where you are, like we all get after waking up, Rainbow proceeded to enter her bathroom and looked into the mirror. She saw she had blood-shot eyes with purple bags under them, due to working an all-nighter on the weather team. She put some water in her face and dried herself with a towel. Rainbow pulled a small boom box from under her sink and it turned on, playing a few tracks from DJ-P0N3. She then got into the shower and… well showered.
Rainbow Dash just stood there with the hot water hitting her and dripping down onto the cloud floor. She had so much with her. A great pet, some of the best friends she could ever have, a freaking cloud mansion, and Soarin’; a loving coltfriend. But she still felt empty. She didn’t know what it was. But she was Rainbow Dash! She wasn’t going to let an empty place slow her down. She was the fastest Pegasus around after all. Rainbow Dash blocked the feelings of emptiness and cleaned herself up.
Feeling a lot more awake, Rainbow Dash went downstairs and saw her turt- tortoise, Tank, hovering around with his propeller.
“You hungry, Tank?” She half-asked, half stated her first words of the day. She was going to feed him anyway. Tank nodded… very slowly... He IS a tortoise after all. Rainbow Dash approached a cupboard and opened it. Out came a bag of Reptile Feed and was poured into his bowl. A bunch of dead bugs fell into the bowl: Flies, crickets, grasshoppers, etc. Everything a tortoise needs in his diet.
“Ugh. How do you eat this stuff?” she asked Tank, not expecting an answer.
Tank didn’t seem to hear Rainbow Dash, and slowly began to his bowl of insects. Rainbow Dash was never really good at cooking, so naturally she made a bowl of cereal. Then she decided to pull a Pinkie Pie and thought,

I don't know, Rainbow. Just continue with the eating of cereal.
She dismissed the thought and continued to eat her Hay-O’s.
When she finished eating, Rainbow headed up to room to get ready for flying today. She again, went into the bathroom to brush her teeth (somehow). After flossing, Rainbow Dash pulled out her laptop and check her work schedule to make sure she didn’t have work today. After she confirmed that she didn’t, Rainbow heard a noise come from the attic.
She rarely went up into the attic, as all it had was loose furniture and souvenirs. Rainbow Dash then heard an ominous squeaking. Yes, squeaking can be ominous. Before she could react, a bat flew out of a box and out the window, briefly startling Rainbow Dash.
She shuddered. "And I thought Amnesia was scary." Rainbow moved towards the box out of curiosity.
In the box were a few items from Rainbow’s past.
One photo was a picture of Rainbow Dash and her friends.
The second was of her and Soarin’.
The last one was when she was filly. With all of her good foalhood friends. A week after she had gotten her cutie mark. A picture of Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Derpy, Gilda, and… him

“Are we there yet?”, I brother, High Score, complained. I swear, he’s a colt with the body of a stallion, and he’s 22.
“No! For the 12th time, no!” I calmly exclaimed. I usually wasn’t this grumpy, considering I was usually pretty cheerful. But we’ve been traveling a lot, with little sleep.
We both were hauling a wagon filled with our belongings. And it was HEAVY. I suppose it was kind of my fault. I owned quite the videogame collection. And so did High Score… But we did have a small amount of furniture and other household items and our sister, Sunset Gleam, back in the wagon.
“Joy, can’t we take a break? We’ve been trotting for hours!”, High Score wasn’t exaggerating when he said (or more whined) that. It has been at least 4 hours since our last stop. We have been traveling from Manehatten for about 6 days to Ponyville. Manehatten was getting a little too crazy for us. The high crime rate. The taxes. The over-population. And the foals at school making fun of Sunny for being a blank flank.
The place wasn’t exactly fit to live in.
And that’s why Ponyville was our destination. Very little crime. Everything was cheap and plentiful. A nice small town where everypony knows everypony. And it has become quite famous the last 2 years. I hear 6 mares, our very own cousin included, defend the town and Equestria for that matter from evil.
And they never got any medals.
“I guess so.” I had barely finished that sentence when Score speedily undid his harness, went under a nearby tree, pulled out a Gamecolt Advance and proceeded to play Super Mareio Brothers.
I pulled the heavy wagon next to the tree. I moved to the back of the wagon.
“Hey, Sunny.” I say to my sister. “Hey, sis. Rise and shine.” Sunny begins to wake up. Sunset Gleam was a cute, little, Pegasus filly. She was 9-years old, had a blue coat, and pink and purple mane. She had a sight disorder, requiring her to wear glasses.
“Ugh. Mommy?” She ask, half-asleep.
I chuckle. “Nope. Just brother.” She falls back asleep immediately. I laugh a bit at the abrupt reaction and put Sunny on my back and head towards the tree.
I laid a blanket on the ground under the tree, next to High Score, and set Sunny down on it. I sit next to my siblings and remove my saddlebags. I debated with myself to whether to play a Gamecolt or a Play Stable portable. I decided with the Gamecolt and started playing some Legend of Celestia.
After about 20 or so minutes of playing, I shut down the game system and relaxed. I pulled a photo album from my saddlebag ‘cause I was bored. I looked through it, trotting down memory lane.
Sunny’s birth.
My first videogame system (a PES).
The day Score and I got our cutie marks (we had a gaming tournament, revealing our equivalent and identical talent of videogames).
Our parents’ wedding (which neither my sibling nor I attended obviously).
And our most recent photo, a picture of my family. Me, High Score, Sunset Gleam, my mother Shamrock Shine and my father Arcade Spark; the picture we took just before we left Manehatten.
Oh, Celestia. Here comes the feels!
After getting bored with my past… “Hey, Score? Wanna get powned at Team Fortress?” My brother turned to me with diamond swords from Minecraft in his eyes.
“2 or Classic?” he asked with a disturbing seriousness in his voice.

After getting my flank kicked by a Sniper High Score, I went back to the photo album after my rage quit to calm my nerves.
I find the first time I flied (I fell and hurt myself. Very badly).
The first time I beat Maretroid (The days I spent on that only to find out Samus was a mare).
And… Hold on, what’s this?
I find a picture from when I was 8 or 9. I was in Flight School by the looks of it. And my good friends! I haven’t seen any of them in little more than a decade! Why haven’t I checked this photo album in so long? I almost forgot the faces of my best friends and favorite cousin.
There was my cousin, Fluttershy; my friend Ditzy Doo; the tough-as-a-box of nails Gilda; and… her.
