Jimmy felt like he was going to go mad. He was trying to go about his normal business day after day, but he was being followed at all times. Not by the military or the government, as was the usual for him, but by that USPS girl whose route ran by his house and dropped packages to him whenever somebody had the kindness to send him a package of some description.

Alice was her name, and she was a right pain in the ass. Every time she dropped something off, she would try to get into conversation- conversation that Jimmy would swiftly shut down as he felt uncomfortable about what was being discussed. Of course she was asking him about which character he had been, and it was driving him up the wall.

So he tried to avoid her as much as he could. Easier said than done. Wherever he went, she went also, effectively stalking him for some reason. That reason, of course, being his habit of suffering terribly timed major metamorphoses at the worst possible moments, indicating she was somehow attracted to a guy who endlessly swapped genders back and forth (which was rather painful as any observer could tell you. The swapping genders, not the attraction bit). Jimmy had tried many things, but as brunch on the 26th September approached, he was no closer to dealing with Alice the ass (as he'd taken to calling her when she was not around). It was infuriating, and Jimmy sighed as he sat at the table and read the morning papers that had been delivered by Pat, the town postman working for the Roanoke Island Delivery Company PLC. There wasn't much to report, given that towns of this sort usually had incredibly slow news weeks, the most exciting item one week being Cat stuck up tree. There had been that incident where a container truck loaded with goo had crashed and exploded, covering everything in goo (including Jimmy) but that had been months and months ago, and nothing interesting had happened since. Not even bat flying creatures, who are very weird indeed and shall be so greatly of the weirdness that they shall be dismissed from this story forevermore. Begone, you!

Anyway, Jimmy's eyes poured over the morning papers, to see what was going on. Mostly it detailed businesses reopening after lockdown, with strict six foot separation rules strictly enforced, face shields for all employees, and mostly click and collect delivery (with McDonald's now serving orders from 2017). Jimmy felt for those poor people. His father had worked in those sorts of industries for years, and it wasn't easy, not least the amount of abuse they often got from customers who felt their rights were being violated. As the opinion piece that issue noted, these people, in demanding that their rights meant they could freely ignore the rules meant to protect people, had taken rights away from other people as they were having to hide away in lockdown. And they could have got it under control in a few months if people had accepted a mild inconvenience for a bit.

Jimmy had gotten a phone call from Kiki, a server he knew well at the local branch of Dunkin' Donuts, in which she'd been quite upset as a customer had hurled abuse at her for asking that he wear a mask. Jimmy, safe to say, didn't get people. In fact, if he could conduct proceedings without ever coming into contact with silly people like that, he would happily do so. Alas, it was to be a pipe dream as such people live in pipes, and as a result are somewhat hard to talk to. Have you ever had a productive conversation with a person in a pipe? I haven't, that's for sure.

Jimmy took a moment to take a rest from his persistent internal rambling and focused once again on the newspaper. The paper that contained news also contained a lost property report about a hairband, which was a rather odd and specific thing to find in the middle of nowhere. Jimmy analysed the image and thoroughly scoured the article for any further information on this object, but he drew a blank on where he'd seen it before.

Then, out of the corner of his eye... he saw an object. Not just any old object, but a green hair tie surrounded by red beads. He chose to bend himself down to look at it, only for it to vanish into the ether.

"Well, wasn't that pretty! Pretty annoying, more like."

Jimmy stopped. He suddenly sounded like a heavily stereotyped bipolar person, or rather what Hollywood writers thought a bipolar person sounded like. It was all rather strange, when he thought about it, and as he took the time to consider the circumstances of this very day he noticed something odd going on.

His feet appeared to be smaller, as his socks seemed to be collapsing in on themselves like deflating balloons, which Jimmy found very odd indeed. As he continued to observe this most bizarre phenomenon, his legs slimmed down too and looked considerably more toned and feminine, rather than the old tree trunks that had formerly occupied that spot.

His entire frame then shrank down to that of a teenage girl, his flailing and increasingly tiny hands and arms grabbing onto items to clothing to prevent them from falling off. His pants had an easier time staying on when his hips popped outwards and his manhood was taken to a place where the sun don't shine. As the process went onwards, her waist shrank to a thinner shape, though not quite an hourglass shape, and her still broad shoulders were pulled inwards to continue the female appearance as she gained a pair of breasts. Moments later, her lump on her throat was dismissed from life forevermore, and this had the effect of her voice rising in pitch. Her skin was turned to a rather lurid shade of yellow, with freckles under her eyes, and her eyes turned from blue to that same grapefruit effect that had been seen previously. Green eyeliner appeared as her face was squished into a different shape by what felt like industrial rollers, which of course caused her glasses to vanish, and a fringe flopped into her face which was abruptly changed from brown to the shades of pink and turquoise, with the turquoise segment being considerably smaller than the rest. The remainder of her hair was pulled into a ponytail of the same colours, held in place by that same green hair tie she had seen earlier. She looked at herself in a nearby mirror.

"Oh, look, I'm Sour Sweet. Why does this keep happening?"

Her clothings then decided to gettings in on the changingings, as she abruptly rose in height. Looking down to see the cause of the disturbance, she realised she now had footwear on, dark purple shoes to be precise. Her socks turned from white to turquoise and grew up her legs to about the point of her knees or just below them, whilst her pants shrank back up her legs to halfway up her calves, before the legs merged together and the zip and button (and pockets) were replaced by elastic to hold them up. The now skirt split into two bits; the top half constituted 66% of the skirt and was coloured pink. The remaining 33% was turquoise.

Speaking of turquoise, her shirt changed colour to this, with the buttons vanishing and the collar shrinking back, followed by the neckline dropping to her breasts. Dark turquoise ruffled material appeared on the neckline as the sleeves grew longer, terminating in flared sleeves that wouldn't have looked out of place in the Eighties. Both were held on with bands to keep them still, and with that it seemed to be over.

Sour Sweet felt ridiculous. This made her school uniform look logical and practical, and that was saying something. "Oh well, I might as well sit around and-"

There was a knock at the door and Sour answered it. Alice was on the other side. "Parcel for you!"

"Aww, thanks. NOW STOP STALKING ME!"

With that, Sour Sweet slammed the door and went back inside. She still found that woman unspeakably annoying, and it was causing her bipolar issues to flare up again, which was why she was so cranky. She went back to the table and put the box on it, pondering whether to open it now or not, when she suddenly saw Lemon Zest at the window.
