"What do you mean something has come up Qrow you never make calls to me directly unless it's a situation concerning her have you found where she ran off to?"

A calm voice asks over the scroll call.

"No I've not located her yet but the reason I am calling is my niece's found a Beowulf den in the island and after I took care of them and was in the middle of yelling at Yang a young faunus boy walked out if the den alive but hurt he just woke up."

Qrow sigh's a bit as he is talking before continuing

"But he had no idea what a human or faunas was or even what Grim are and his wound it was made by a blade not claws it looks like the kid was left for dead there I need your help Oz to find out if anyone has reported a young red draconian faunas with green and blue hair was missing or knows him so we can get him back to his family safely."

"I see that is a interesting situation you came across and the fact the child has no idea about the world or even what he was is there anything else you can give me to work with? I can ask the leader of the White fang movement about him."

"All that's left is the kid has golden eyes and is covered in dark red scales and thanks Oz I know it's alot to ask you what with you running Beacon I think the kid would be safer staying with Tai and the girls with us both on the island teaching and my habit of causing bad luck around me could cause trouble for the boy and that's the last thing he needs."

As Qrow finishes talking a loud squee is heard followed by his niece Ruby's excited voice going.

"You look so cool with your scales what's your name I'm Ruby Rose it's nice to meet you!"

"And I should go before Ruby overwhelms the kid with questions but I have a feeling there going to get along great see you soon Oz."

With that he hangs up the call and walks back into the room to see Yang holding a hand over he younger sisters mouth.

"Ruby he just woke up after being attacked by grim can you try to contain your excitement at meeting a faunus till he's recovered!"

"No it's fine besides I think it's cool I have scales as well and your eyes are cool as well Ruby I've never seen silver eyes before and my name's Redsopine but please call me Red."

The young boy says smiling and laughing a bit before wincing in pain holding his chest.

"I guess I need to take it easy when laughing for a while so did anyone see my parents around where you found me or any clue how I ended up there?"

"No sorry kid I found no one else there but I asked a friend of mine to ask about you see if you got seperated from them somehow but for now I should be getting the girls home."

"But what about Red uncle Qrow he's gonna be here all alone are you sure he can't come with us?"

Ruby asks with a concerned look as a blond haired man walks in and sigh's.

"You know once Ruby makes her mind up to help someone she won't let anything stand in her way if she's determined also Yang your grounded for that little stunt you pulled I know you miss your mother but running off like that is dangerous."

"Yes dad I realized it just as uncle Qrow found us."

Yang says hanging her head down low in shame and anger at herself.

"With that settled young man my name's Taiyang xiao long I'm Yang and Ruby's father and if you want to you can stay with us until we find your parents or a family member you can go with would you like that?"

Red looks stunned by Tai's offer but nods his head.

"Thank you sir I promise not to be a burden and to help out when I can I think I'm ok to stand up now."

Red says sliding his legs off the bed and standing upright leaning on it a little and noticing he felt fine but was also shirtless.

"Erm I just realized did I have a shirt on when you found me?"

He asks in confusion as he starts leaning backwards a bit before wincing again.

"better get used to that I don't think it's going to go away soon"

2 hours later Xiao Long residence

Red sigh's as lays down on a small bed in the spare room thinking to himself.

"I don't know what the future holds for me here but I am thankful they took me in and I hope they find my parents soon I don't want to burden such kind people for taking me in and it's funny I don't know a thing about what I am or the world but I know what clothing is."

"Hey Red are you still awake?"

Ruby and Yang ask in the doorway Red waves a hand lazily.

"I'm up still just thinking about everything that's happened since I woke up I still don't know how I ended up in that barn but I know I owe you both for saving me so thank you and thank you for taking me in."

Sighing rmRed lays down again closing his eyes trying to sleep as Ruby and Yang leave the room.

"Hey sis is it me or does he seem sad and lonely like he feels like he has a weight on his shoulders?"

Ruby asks a little concerned as Yang sigh's and Ruffles Ruby's hair.

Trust you to be worried about someone you just met in a dangerous situation more then yourself Ruby but your right he does seem sad maby we could help cheer him up since he has no idea about the world we could teach him and teach him the fairytales you love so much."

Really Yang that's a great idea maby he will like them as much as I do or maybe once he learns about the grim and hunters and Huntresses he might want to be one like I do?"

Ok there's gonna be a bit of a time skip on events since not much is known about the backstory or schooldays of Yang and Ruby in signal so only key bits of the school and training will done in the next few chapters
