Grey Scale is the only Alicorn never to have been transformed via another Alicorn, and he is the only male Alicorn at that. Grey and his recently made partner, Dusk Shade, are the only ponies in all of Equestria who can see "shadows," demonesque creatures that resemble the shadows of ponies. For quite some time the two hunt regular shadows, business as usual, until they find out that something huge, and possibly Equestria-threatening is coming. Twilight Sparkle and the rest of the mane six soon get involved. Will Grey and his partner be able to stop it, and save Equestria? All while Grey tries to piece back together a relationship shattered long ago?
