Oh the things we've seen
Chapter 8
Previous ChapterNext ChapterA DAY LATER
"Alright, you two take care, I have a library to run," Twilight waves goodbye to her brother and sister-in-law as she teleports out.
They are both crying, but at least they could talk to each other. An hour ago, they would break into tears, either at the bad thoughts, in Cadence's case, or the pain Shining thought he had caused.
As she lands properly this time, Twilight appears in her bedroom, giving out a small whoop. Walking downstairs, she waves good morning to Spike. "Hello there,"
"General Kepone," Spike responds.
"Sorry… what?"
"Ya know, it's a Star Mares reference! You sure don't read actually interesting books,"
Twilight chuckles. "I like Magic. It is interesting to me,"
Spike mutters something about bad taste. "Well, there's some lunch left over if you want it. I made omelettes,"
"For lunch?"
"Brunch,"
"Thank you Spike," Twilight gives him a warm smile as she heads to the kitchen.
A few minutes later, she has her lunch and sat down at the table. The omelette wasn't too large, maybe 4 inches long. Eating viscously, she attracts a stare from Spike. "Uh… I'll go heat up another one…"
"Could you make it two?" Twilight manages through a mouth of eggs, cheese and mushrooms. Spike nods. "Thank you!"
Twilight was still eating ten minutes later. This would be normal, but she was also eating at least thrice as fast as she should be able to.
"I'm stuffed," she suddenly announces, leaning back.
"That was… a third of the omelettes…"
"Didn't make too many then,"
"I made thirty and ate three,"
Twilight blushes. "Oh my…" She gets up suddenly, heading towards the stairs. "Well, I need to use the mare's room. I shall be out shortly,"
"I'll clean up… mom…"
SEVEN HOURS LATER
"Let's continue this pleasant chat about whether laser guns could be real after closing time. Mk?" Twilight says through her teeth. This has taken two hours, and it was dark out now. She still had a book or twelve to put away.
"Yes, I think we will," Spike's voice gas a fake politeness to it.
"Excellent. I now have a book or twelve to put away. No, just one book," As Twilight gets up, a sudden knock comes at the door. "Come in!" Twilight shouts.
The door opens, and a mare comes stumbling in. "Welcome to the Pony… ville… what are you doing here?"
"The Great and Powerful Trixie has decided she needs help," Trixie says. She takes a seat. "Walking was hurting, so Trixie came to the nearest hospitable place… Trixie is allowed here, right?" The last part was in a quieter voice.
"Why of course. Just give me some warning next time, ok?"
"Oh… Trixie should leave then, and not be under hoof," Looking down, she attempts to leave before Twilight blocks her.
"Trixie, what do you mean?" Twilight was paranoid after Luna had her… attempts.
"Trixie is sorry for wasting your time on a life worth so little. She just wants to leave," Trixie says in a defeated tone, so unusual for her.
"What do you mean? You're worth so much!" Twilight asks, reflecting on Luna's aforementioned… attempt.
"Trixie is sorry that you feel that way, but Trixie was never worth much. All she needed was someone to show her that," A tear comes to Trixie's eye.
"Trixie… who did this?!?" She had been gone a mere week. Sure it was Chrysalis who stole her, but…
Twilight's eyes narrow. "You aren't the real Trixie," Twilight says.
Trixie sighs, and casts her Rabbit-outta-a-hat-outta-a-book-outta-a-window trick™. Twilight stands there, shocked, realizing that it is Trixie.
"Trixie is sorry… she shall go now, and not waste your time with her pitiful, worthless presence," As Trixie walks, sobs wrack her body. She had just lost her last chance. So, what now…
Trixie freezes upon feeling a warm embrace and the cold splashes of tears. "Trixie, never say that again! Do you understand me!? Never!"
"But Trixie knows it's true. She is worthless. After all, mom said so, and she understands me..."
"Trixie… I can help you, but please stop this self-deprecation! You are great and powerful!" Twilight starts to choke up. "You have friends and a meaning!"
"Trixie can tell Twilight is a friend, but who else? The rainbow one, the seamstress, and the apple one hate her. The caregiver politely told her to fuck off, and the jumpy one said something about covinience to someone! And then they ran her off!" Trixie starts crying herself. "And the dragon sided with the seamstress, so he's an enemy of Trixie! Ask him if I should stay,"
"Spike, we are going to have a talk now," Twilight grits out through tears. "Give me a few minutes, Trixie. I'll be right back, and Spike can apologize,"
Twilight guided Spike up the stairs. As soon as Trixie was out of earshot, she started. "Why?"
"Well, uh, erm…"
Twilight sighs. "Rarity?"
Spike nods, ashamed. "Also, she was pretty stuck up,"
"Spike…" Twilight groans. "What happened?"
"Well… Dash told Trixie she hated her, AJ concurred, Rarity was mad about her gems, I sided with Rarity, the CMCs joined in, and then I didn't see Fluttershy or Pinkie,"
"Hm…" Twilight stood still, thinking. "I know! Before you can read a comic, you must write me a report on this here book," Twilight whips a Geography book out of nowhere. "Explain the geopolitics of Griffons, in an essay. 25 pages minimum,"
Spike sigh. "Yes, mom…" he heads for his room. Twilight, satisfied, heads downstairs back to Trixie.
"Ok, well, now that that is done with, how are you Tri-" Twilight notices the note on the desk.
Dear Twilight,
Trixie has caused trouble. If you want to laugh at her, go to the Ghastly Gorge.
Please excuse my use of your materials,
Trixie.
"Trixie!" Twilight screams as she starts her teleport.
GHASTLY GORGE
"Well, Trixie had a nice ride, much nicer than she ever deserved," Trixie lets out a whimper. "She is such a bad mare…" Steeling herself for the jump, she stands at the edge.
Suddenly, she hears a sharp snap and then feels herself being restrained with magic. "What is this?" She struggles futilely.
"It's your friend, Trixie…" Twilight says through a son.
"Trixie is not friends with royalty, merely a servant! Now let her jump!"
At this point, Twilight could hug Trixie. "Never!" She shouts, bringing her close and teleporting them back home.
PV LIBRARY
They appear on Twilight's bed. "Now, we are going to sleep in the same bed. That way, you can't escape," Twilight encases the room. "There we go. Very easy to maintain,"
"But that's an even worse obtrusion!" Trixie says. "Trixie would be awful if she did that!"
"It's not bad, Trixie. I want to have you close," Trixie sighs in response. The two mares climb under the sheets and pull it over themselves. Twilight never lets go of her hug, holding Trixie tight. Trixie never stops feeling bad, even crying at some points. Eventually, Luna claims them.
ABOUT TEN HOURS LATER
"Come on Trixie, wake up," Twilight says while yawning. She shakes Trixie, who groans as she opens her eyes.
"Twilight… let it be known that Trixie thanks you, for being so kind, even though she's so-"
"Hey now, no more negative thoughts. Let's go talk to my friends, ok?" Twilight whispers reassuringly. Nodding through tears, Trixie lets herself be taken by the bright flash.
