Project BLUE BOOKby Dragon-In-BlackChaptersSpike DrakeFirst day of high schoolThe Dragon in blackGovernment FilesSpike DrakeSpike Drake is a normal dragon who works for princess Twilight Sparkle. He worked for her every single day. He did get breaks here and there, but he barely took them because he is one of those who needs to have something to do. That was fifteen years ago. Now he is twenty five, atleast in Equestria, but not in the human world. He goes in the human world at, Canterlot High. He nearly got an heart attack when he saw the human worlds counterparts of the main six. He is one of the quiet kids in school, but he had noticed that Sunset Shimmer has been watching him lately. He obviously noticed, since he had been trained by an agency that isn't on any government lists at all. Technically he doesn't exist in Equestria either, since he burnt all records of him. Sunset Shimmer was an interesting girl. She hadn't noticed him when she "ruled" over the school, so he was in the clear. But recently.... she has been watching him together with the human worlds Twilight who had an dog named Spike. Spike had laughed at that. In Equestria he would be seen as a beast for those who didn't know him. He did have a lot of friends, but because of his job, he can't interact with them unless he has to. Spike remembers the day like yesterday, when he got the job opportunity of a life time. Flashback fifteen years ago. Spike was walking around Ponyville one night, gazing the stars. It was truly beautiful outside. He walked towards the outskirts of Ponyville, heading for the Everfree Forest. He reached the forest and headed inside. There was an beautiful place in the forest that had a clearing of the sky, so you could stargaze. He loved the spot. He reached the small hill, and lay down on the grass gazing up at the sky. It was truly magnificent, the stars were moving slowly, in a way, you became tired. Spike then noticed a star was moving left and right extremely fast, he smiled then his eyes nearly popped out of his eyes. He gazed at the star which moved weirdly. The star or whatever it was, was moving very fast and then it started descending. Spike then realized he was standing on the spot where it was gonna land. He bolted faster than any pegasus alive, and hid behind an bush that covered his whole body. Spike peeked behind the bush, and saw that the star wasn't a star. It was some sort of mettal wagon that could fly. Spike's jaw dropped to the floor, he didn't think it was even possible. Spike then saw an door fall down, and some sort of creature walked out. Spike then realized it was GARBLE??!! What in the name of Equestria was he doing? He heard foot steps come his way. He also heard Garble talk maturely. "I need to find Spike. I think he lives here, hopefully I'll find him." Garble said, not sounding mocking or anything. Spike stepped out of the bushes, and Garble spun so fast Rainbow Dash would be proud. He then relaxed when he saw Spike. "Spike, hello. Look, I wanted to say I'm sorry for being a jerk before and I was hoping to get an friendship with you." Garble said, not angry for being startled. If anything, he needed that type of training. "Um, sure Garble all is forgiven, but why are you looking for me?" Spike asked, curious. "Oh! Right, I have an job opportunity for you. Its one in a lifetime one. Although we dragons live forever, but you get the point." Garble said. Spike pundered at this. He didn't know the details, but it might be one of the more secret ones. Spike decided he would take the opportunity, but just then he realized something. Garble was wearing an black trench coat, with expensive shoes with an black hat on his head. "Uh Garble, you look great in that, but what are you wearing?" Spike asked, feeling weirded out by Garble. "Oh this? This is the work uniform that I got. Now, do you accept?" Garble asked, not even sounding one bit irritated. "Yes, I accept it, but what about my family here?" Spike asked, starting to realize he didn't think about that. "I'm sorry Spike. You'll have to leave and forget about them, they will otherwise be in the way of our job." Garble said, sounding sad. Spike froze. He would have to forget about his old life? He couldn't do that! He loved every single one of them. He knew he couldn't leave now, considering he had accepted the deal. He looked at Garble with determination in his eyes. "Where to?" He asked. Garble smiled and lead him towards the metallic wagon, like thing. It was circled shaped, and looked highly advanced. Garble showed him inside the ship, which looked something completely out of this world. Spike sat down on a chair and waited for Garble. Garble came up later, and smiled when he saw Spike looking around amazed by everything. He couldn't help but remember when he got the job opportunity from... well he never said what his name was, only that he was an human but that was it. "I see that you are amazed by everything. Can't blame you, I was aswell when I got this job." Garble said, sounding proud. "Where are we going?" Spike asked, wondering where they were headed so he wouldn't get any nasty surprises. "Where going to the human world. We need to get you a fake name and brand new identity." Garble said, sounding very serious all of a sudden. Spike nodded, not knowing what the human world was, but decided not to ask. Spike felt how Garble pulled them up in the aircraft, and how they suddenly flew very very, fast. Suddenly they appeared infront of an large building that looked old, but not abandoned. Garble landed it and parked it. Spike went of his seat, feeling the adrenaline coming of. Garble saw his expression, and couldn't help but chuckle. Spike looked at him, with an 'are you serious look' and walked away with him. Garble opened the door and walked down with Spike. Garble then closed the door behind them, and walked away. They didn't have to worry about it being seen, because it was invincible when they flew and still was. Garble opened a door that said "staff only" and walked inside together with Spike. There was an small empty hallway, that was leading to some sort of room. When they got to the end, they were met with an large circular table with four men dressed in the same attire like Garble but with black leather gloves. They smiled at Spike, and he didn't know what to do so he smiled back. One of the men, Spike assumed was an human reached out his hand towards the chair, so Spike assumed he wanted him to sit. So he went forward and sat down on the chair. When everything was in order the meeting began. "Spike Drake," A human with blue eyes, an straight jaw line said, catching his full attention. "We have observed your movements, and have liked what we have found. You seem absolutely determined to get what is needed, when you need it. You are also very observant, which we need." A man with the exact same attire, but with green eyes leaned forward taking a look at Spike and his build. He then gave an smile. "You will need some training to work that baby fat of, but that shouldn't be an problem. We will also need to get you an suit. Oh, by the way, you'll be going to high school in an different dimension, since you really need an education." The man said, nodding towards Spike. I just nodded slowly, trying to comprehend what was being said to me. I then nodded to them in approval, to show that I understood. The man smiled and he lead me to a different room. The room was small but looked kind of like Rarity's boutique. The man fitted him, and when he was done, he lead me back to the meeting room, where I got my new identity, where I was named Flame Ninja. Since he could easily disappear he got the last name Ninja. Welcome to the secret agency Flame Ninja. The first man who had spoken to him said. End of Flashback Spike smiled at the memory fondly and looked out of the window of his house. Tomorrow would be a new day of school. First day of high schoolSpike woke up the next morning, and smiled. He got out of his bed, and saw his bed covers that were in green. He smiled at it and put on his clothes, which consisted of a blue t-shirt, grey sweatpants, black socks and black shoes. He looked into the mirror and smiled at himself. He walked down the staircase, and out the door. It took fifteen minutes to get to school. So he walked slowly immersing into his thoughts. He remembered when Sunset Shimmer was the Queen bee. He still liked her though, which made him blush. Her red and blonde hair, swaying when she walks. Her perfect... Spike shaked his head, trying to get those thoughts out of his head. He rememberd Twilight from Equestria coming over from the portal to take back her crown. Spike wasn't actually concerned, because he had calculated that it would have been impossible for Sunset to succeed, not that Spike would mind to have helped her o- Spike shook his head again, annoyed that his love life was getting in his way. He wasn't popular in school, in fact that is exactly what he is avoiding. He doesn't want to be popular since, when he graduate he will immediately work for his agency. He continued to walk to school. Sunset Shimmer has had an tough life. She has been an Queen bee, and a bully. There is one guy though that never seemed to be scared of her, and that is mysterious Flame Ninja, guy. She have never spoken to him, or interacted with him, but she is just drawn to him. She had told her friend Rarity about this, who was practically jumping up and down when she told her. She hadn't told the others, because Sunset told her not to. She was walking to school when she saw him. Flame Ninja. His hair to the side in a military haircut. His hand in his pockets, and was walking with such elegance. He was confident, but not overly confident. Her eyes turned into hearts seeing him. He continued walking into the school and was out of sight. Sunset couldn't help but blush from her behaviour. She walked into school and went straight for her locker. Spike saw her. Sunset Shimmer. Dang she is hot, he couldn't help but chuckle at her antics. He didn't think he was attractive at all. 'If she is looking at me like that, then I guess I am.' Spike thought, making his eyes turn into hearts. He wanted to ask her out, but he knew he couldn't. He had enemies and he couldn't put her in danger. Not that any criminals, or countries from different dimensions even knew of his existense. Sunset then passed him, accidentally bumping into him. Spike spun around in time to catch her. They looked into each others eyes and saw hearts. In Spike's mind, he was jumping like an little girl. He leaned into her close to her face, and whispered. "Are you alright?" Sunset nodded a little to fast. She couldn't believe it worked! She had done this on purpose in hopes of getting his attention. She stood up, even though she wanted to stay like that forever. Spike looked at her with an smile. She picked up her things and walked of. Spike got out his math book, and headed for class. He obviously did the work necessary, but he couldn't stop thinking about the encounter. 'It must have been on purpose. Can't blame her, if she is interested.' Spike thought, picking up his things and heading for his locker. His next class was biology, which he shared with Sunset. He kept getting quick looks at her, and his heart was raising. He didn't know if she had seen him or not, but it didn't matter. When the class ended, he headed for the cafeteria to sit alone. He grabbed an bowl of fruit and found an empty table. He grabbed his English textbook to read ahead. He was then approached by someone, who tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and saw Sunset Shimmer. "Hi sorry to bother you, is it okay if I sit here?" Sunset asked, hoping to get to know him. "Sure," Spike smiled towards her. "I don't mind one bit." Sunset sat down and they talked mostly about school, and where they came from. Spike was in his fake documents from Alabama, so Spike had an special accent. Sunset seemed impressed, and they continued until it was time for class. Spike grabbed his bag and headed for music. He was relatively good at music, he enjoyed listening to it. He is a good singer though, so he mostly sang during music class. He walked into the music studio and saw Octavia Melody, Vinyl Scratch, Lyra heartstrings, and Bon Bon was there. "Hello, I hope I'm not late." Spike said, being polite. "Oh no, you aren't we were waiting for the others." Octavia said, in her upper class dialect. "Okay, I'll wait then." Spike said, taking a seat on one of the many unoccupied chairs. Spike pulled out his school phone, that he used to seem normal. He had an instahoof account with atleast five hundren followers. His photo can't be traced anywhere, so he didn't have to worry about being asked "funny" questions. "Spike?" Came Octavias voice who sounded uncertain. Spike looked up and answered; "yes?" He saw that they were looking at him. He looked at them confused then he realised why he was there in the first place. He gave an apologetic smile and went on stage. "Sorry about that, shall we begin?" Spike asked, sounding rushed. "Yes, okay one... and a one....two...three!!" Octavia called out. Vinyl Scratch put on, one of her CD's and Lyra started to play along with Octavia. Spike then started to sing. The devil once held me, In a tight grip. I couldn't escape, His devil claws. He made me into, An demon, thinking I'll join his cause. I held up my hand For help, and help Received, it was from The Lord himself. He helped me from The devil, and showed Me the right path. The devil once held me, In a tight grip. I couldn't escape, His demon claws. He made me into, An demon, thinking I'll join his cause. He didn't expect me To get help from God, He once defied his father, And he'll do it again. And he'll do it agaaaiiiiiiiinnnnn. Spike looked up to see his musical band look at him with tears from the beautiful song. Spike nodded towards them and went of the stage. He grabbed his bag and headed for the exit, because he has an extra hour in music. He headed home, tired from all work from school. Little did he know that a sighting happened a few minutes ago in Equestria that needed his presence. The Dragon in blackwhen Spike got home, he instantly went to the kitchen and got a cold beer. The fridge was mostly filled with drinks like Red Bull and different beers. He pulled out an Guinnes since he needed something strong. He took a few sips and felt like he was right at home. He walked into his living room, and turned on the TV. The news didn't have anything interesting, just the same old. Frauds, some murder, and some theft gone wrong. Nothing that interested Spike. His cushion chair was black and it was very comfy. The coffee table infront of him was dark wood. He also had two sofas, that could fit six people. He then felt his phone going of. He pulled out the phone and answered, not bothering with checking who the caller is. "Garble, what is it?" Spike asked, knowing it was him. "There has been a sighting in Ponyville. We need you here right now." Garble said, sounding serious. "I'm on my way." Spike said, hanging up the phone and going upstairs for his uniform. He reached his bedroom, and went straight for his wardrobe. He pulled out an white button shirt, together with an black trench coat. He pulled down his pants, and pulled out black expensive jeans. He then pulled out expensive black shoes. The last, but not least, his black hat. He walked out of his bedroom and headed for his basement. He had gotten an mirror that lead him directly in to Equestria. Only those who are born in Equestria can enter this specific portal. He opened the basement door and closed it, which he proceeded to lock just in case someone come over. He walked down the staircase, heading for the mirror. He reached the ground floor and, headed for an area that was filled with weapons. He had gotten this, because Garble said that it could happen that he had to kill, either to protect the secret of Syndromnesians, or protect those who protect the secret. Spike at first didn't want to kill, but he started to realize that it probably was for the best. He took out an glock 17 with an silencer on it. He opened his trenchcoat and hid his weapon there. He walked towards the mirror which faced the weapons, on the opposite wall. The mirror looked like any normal mirror, showed the whole body and reflection, so nothing out of the ordinary. But this, this is the mirror that will take him to Equestria. Spike walked through it, and landed at an building that was filled with different creatures that also worked for this agency. There were Changelings, Yaks, Dragons, Ponies, Griffins, and many more. Two of his best friends also worked here, which was; Lyra and Bon Bon. They worked with him as a team. They can easily hide in public, without anypony paying them much heed. Spike is a Dragon, so ponies would pay more attention to him, including the fact that he has been missing for fifteen years. Spike saw them walking over to him, and he headed their way. When they were face to face with each other, they hugged each other, as if there was no tomorrow. "It's so good to see you Spike." Bon Bon said, with a huge smile on her face. "Yeah, how has school been?" Lyra asked, excited. "It's nice to see you to. School has been good. So, I heard i was needed for some sighting?" Spike asked, making Bon Bon pull out an file. "Yes, there was an sighting in Ponyville just one hour ago. The citizens claim to have seen an green orb, flying at an impossible speed." Lyra explained, while Spike read the file. "Okay, it seems to begin at Sweet Apple Acres. Should we head over there? Or are you tasked with something else?" Spike asked, looking at his two friends. They looked at each other. They knew he wasn't gonna like this, but he had to know. They turned to him, while he looked at them confused. He had no problem with working alone, in fact, sometimes he wanted to work alone and they knew this, so why the weird faces. "Spike, there is something you need to know," Bon Bon began, while Spike encouraged her to continue. "You see, princess Celestia tasked the element bearers to investigate. So don't be surprised to see them there." Spike facepalmed. He goes back to Equestria to do his job, and he finds out his old caretaker and friends are investigating something that could get them killed. When you work for the agency Spike works for, you can get away with anything. You could murder the princesses in public and nothing could happen to you. "Does the princesses know of our existence?" Spike asked, to which they both shook their heads. "What you want me to do threaten them? Tell them to stop investigating?" "We don't actually know. They only told us to give you this information then see what you would do." Bon Bon said, making Spike nearly hit his own head for The bosses stupidity. "I will protect them, since there would be way to many questions if I were to threaten princess Twilight. There would be more killings to do if somepony found out about our existence." Spike explained his plan, to which his friends nodded. "That seems logical, and probably for the best." Lyra said, voicing her opinion. Spike nodded and hugged them again. He decided to do this one alone, as he feels this is more personal. He walked to a black coloured Bentley, and drove of into the night. He used an invincibility spell, so nopony would notice the car. Spike continue to drive until he reached Sweet Apple Acres. When he reached there, there were someponies there from the Royal guards, and news reporters. Spike started to sneak around the area, until he reached a clearing which showed the element bearers looking for clues on the ground. Spike looked at them until princess Twilight noticed him. He turned around and walked away. He headed back to the human world, ready to dive in to a whole new world of corruption and death. Government FilesSpike was back in the human world, and was pacing around his house. He was debating between revealing himself, or use a ring that made him look and sound different. Spike knew either way, that he would have to show himself to Twilight eventually but not as Spike. Spike was in his bedroom, and he looked around his room. The room looked more like it belonged to an adult. The walls were painted in light blue, and his bed was made out of yew wood that was surprisingly strong. His mattress was black coloured and his bed cover was dark blue. He had a wardrobe that was filled with different suits that was for his work. Spike was currently in his working suit, and decided to head out. He still had some work to do. The UFO that princess Twilight called it, was somehow using a spell to hover. Problem was, it wasn't a spell which is why everypony in Equestria is getting worked up. Spike had a feeling it was Syndromnesians. Syndromnesians look exactly like humans. They have disabilities, which they take pride in. Spike though Garble had joked, but when he saw the expression on his face, Spike knew then and there he was serious. Why they take pride in it, is because they are apparently smarter and peaceful. Spike had snorted at that, if murdering families because they don't have disabilities then they have a fun way of showing their peacefulness. Spike took his school bag and walked out of his home. He would stop at Sugarcube Corner for coffee. He was lost in thought, but he knew exactly where he was. He saw Sugarcube Corner ahead, but he also noticed a girl who was absolutely beautiful. It was her, Sunset Shimmer. Spike smiled to himself, but he kept his blank expression on his face. He saw that she was outside Sugarcube Corner and she was there with this worlds Pinkie Pie. Spike smiled, she has friends that care about her. Spike walked inside Sugarcube Corner and noticed Mrs Cake at the counter. She smiled when she saw him. "Hello dear, what can i help you with?" She asked, and Spike smiled right back at her. She was so much like Mrs Cake back in Equestria. He hadn't known the Equestrian one well, but she had excellent treats. He had to buy some when he goes back there one day. There wasn't really any difference between the human or pony one, but for some reason the Equestrian one just felt better. "Hello, i would simply like black coffee and nothing else to it." Spike said, and Mrs Cake smiled at him and went behind the back. She came back a few minutes later with the coffee and Spike payed around eleven dollars. Spike then walked to CHS, and prepared for the day. He quite enjoyed walking in silence with the coffee he drank. It helped him wake up in the morning. He then felt his phone vibrate and he looked at the screen, and saw it was a text from Garble. Garble: Canterlot, archive room. Equestria. Syndromnesians. Spike sighed. It looked like he would have to use a clone. He walked back to his house, and went straight for the basement. He had another mirror there, when he touched it, there would be an exact copy of Spike and would even act as him. The replica looked around, then at Spike. "Another situation?" Clone Spike asked, to which the real Spike nodded. "Wow, that must be a record. Usually, they call you almost every time something was up. Then again, you were in training so it was vital to show if you could do the job." Real Spike could only sigh, as he agreed. Clone Spike nodded, and simply took real Spike's school bag and walked out of the basement. Spike also walked out of the basement and walked to his bedroom where his working uniforms where. He reached his room, and he started to put it on. He then quickly looked at himself in the mirror. He smiled a little, this was a job he loved but there is always a burden to it. That is having to stay away from friends and family, and murder the ones who you might know simply for them knowing to much of the truth. He had been witnessed everything princess Sparkle had done over the years he had been gone. Spike chuckled, if they knew about so called 'extraterrestrial' existence they would flip out. Spike then wondered. 'Why was princess Sparkle and her friends investigating the mysterious lights?' He could understand Applejack as she lives at Sweet Apple Acres, anypony or creature who lived anywhere and all of a sudden saw something other worldly, you would want to investigate to. Spike shook his head. He had important stuff to do, and that apparently included stealing government files. Spike didn't exactly care about that, but he did feel a little surprised. He can steal without any problem, but Syndromnesians wouldn't attack Equestrians would they? Spike didn't know them well. The creatures in black were there to be as diplomatic as possible, and sometimes if the Syndromnesians were generous, they would keep themselves quiet for a few months. Spike walked out of his room, and headed for the basement to prepare for his travel and mission. He probably would be payed extra for this, as those files inside Canterlot have information not even a high ranking guard could read. Princess Celestia, Luna, Cadece, and Twilight and some other royal families knew because they had to know. Now, the Dragon-In-Black and other creatures had read those files, and were grossed out by it. They didn't know how the royalty sleept through the night or day. Spike saw his portal and walked through it. He felt the same swirling sensation he usually feels when he travels through there. He then landed in the creature in black headquarters. Spike smiled, and headed for the vehicle area. He needed a ride, and he knew he would have to be invincible driving around. Spike walked through the clean hallways, and the walls and floor was made of the strongest alien metal there was, but Spike didn't know the name of it sadly as he was never given that information. 'Then again, i never did ask about it.' Spike though, to himself. Spike finally reached his destination, and saw all of the normal human cars and bikes. The car Spike liked to drive around in was a 1955 Bentley, made from the human world. It was expensive, but worth every bit. Spike saw it in front of him. His car, he walked towards it and opened the car door and sat in the drivers seat which was on the left. Spike opened a small box that contained his Bentley key's. He took them, and started the ignition. The car came to life, and Spike put on his poker face. Spike was outside of Canterlot Castle, and knew the archives where here. Spike stopped the car and got out. It must have been weird for some ponies who didn't know what he had for intentions, and knew he hadn't been there 0,5 seconds ago, and all of a sudden there is a creature in a rather strange attire there, looking determine for whatever. Spike walked with steps that didn't make a single sound. Spike made sure nopony looked his way, and made himself invincible. He then walked into the castle and towards the archives. He walked through the beautiful halls that were coloured with light blue crystal. There was a red mat that lead to every possible room, and there were several paintings, photos, and souvenirs. Spike didn't pay any of this heed. He walked with determination, and only stopped to make sure he remembered everything correct. He reached the archives and saw that it was locked. Spike took of his left glove and inserted his claw and used it as a key. It worked. Spike put on the glove again, and took of his invincibility. He forgot to close the door but didn't mind. Spike walked through several files filled with information. He knew he was looking for anything Syndromnesian related files, and looked for the unexplained files. It took five minutes, but he made it. He found the file he needed. He knew he would have to give it to Twilight. This was something the creature in black already knew, actually, this was 'baby' information to him. He decided to just do it immediately, so he could be done with it. He pulled the file inside his trench coat, and was about to move, when his senses told him not to. He saw the open door, and a night guard moving around. Spike decided to humour him a little. "You know, you could have knocked. I don't ming though, your doing your job and I'm doing mine." Spike said, in a voice that sounded like a adult. The night guard didn't jump, but he did stop in his tracks. He pulled out his spear and aimed it around. Spike chuckled quietly. Finally he got to have some excitement. Spike saw that he was a couple of shelves down, so he decided to climb on top of the shelves to then quickly dash down the corridors so he could escape. Spike did all of this quietly. He watched the night guard carefully, who still hadn't said anything. Spike jumped between shelves quietly, but on the last one, he stumbled a little but still didn't make a single sound. The night guard all of a sudden spun around, and saw Spike looking at him with a small smile. He raised his spear at him, but Spike looked like he was watching a funny foreign play. Spike walked slowly forward. "Stay where you are!" The night guard spoke. Spike chuckled. He never expected to hear the guard say anything at all. Then again, it maybe was a part of his job not to say anything. Spike looked at him with a smirk. "So, I heard the element bearers were working on something called Project Blue Book, is that correct?" Spike asked, casually. He rememeberd that he had read it on the file on what had been going on in Ponyville but never addressed it. The night guard just looked at him, not saying anything. "Well, sadly, you cannot live. At least because you know how I act and most importantly how I look. If the princess of friendship knew her long lost friend was alive, I don't know what she'll do." Spike said, confusing the guard. Spike quickly pulled out a glock 17 with a silencer and shot the night guard in the head. The pony was caught by surprise, and feel down... dead. Spike walked towards the body and pulled out the bullet. He then saw a pair of wings that looked like bat wings. "Bat-pony," Spike mumbled to himself. He then left the archives room and walked out casually. He made no sound, and he was lucky that there weren't any other guards there. Spike walked out to his 1955 Bentley and drove out in the night. The drive to Ponyville was rather quick, and uneventful. Spike just looked at the road ahead until he reached Ponyville. When he was right outside the Friendship Castle, he got out and started to look around the castle. He looked for an entrance and found a open window near a kitchen window. At least it looked like a kitchen. Spike climbed in through the window, not making any sound, and saw the kitchen table. Spike put the files there, and looked around. The castle was quite big, but Spike didn't have time to explore. Not that he could see much anyways. He climbed back out through the window and walked for his car. He didn't notice that seven mares had seen him do all of that. And perhaps it was for the best.
