Earth, the world of dull colours, no friendship, and no magic, birthplace of the great fictional show, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, a complete reverse of our world, or your world. Dependent on where I'm going to start with this.
How about the start? Ok. I was just a simple Brony, wishing away this, cruel, dark, black and white world almost every waking second. Watching My Little Pony normally helps, seeing the bright, happy colours of their world, always wanting to go to Equestria and leave this dying world with no looking back.
Now I'm not stupid so I know that'll never happen. EVER. Well, that's what I once thought.
It was a normal Friday morning, I woke up, pissed as usually about how boring this world was, ate breakfast, drove to work, and watched the world go by in the cramped apartment office block. Then after several hours of, well work, I go home, constantly thinking of Equestria and how much better it would be. How everyone, or everypony would know me, and it would be peace and happiness all around. How I could get a much better job and nicer place to live in general.
How there would be no wars, political problems, falling economies or and pollution that is slowly killing the already dead and sad planet. But then reality hit, I knew Equestria wasn't real. Hell, nothing beyond Earth is TRULY real, it's just great to believe a better salvation is out there.
When I got home I instantly went to the computer, turned it on, and checked my YouTube, being in the UK of course, I hadn't found a way of watching my little pony without the use of the internet. 'Oh good.' I thought, season three is finally out, apparently Twilight was finally gonna be an alicorn, we all saw it coming, but that didn't help us the bronies, with that fact. I click the link and stare blankly at the cartoon ponies running and jumping around in front of me. I watch the screen and find myself wondering about Equestria again.
"Is there any way, that our science, or their magic hasn't found yet to jump universes?" I found myself talking openly, I'd been talking to myself a lot lately and hadn't really thought much about my sanity, or insanity, which ever one I've finally hit. The episode ends and I begin my rant about the episode as usual.
"Damn it Hub, what the fuck was that, Sombra? Bullshit." I grunted. I decided to re-watch a few of the older episodes before I went to bed. The decent fucking ones.
Its late the time I finish with my daily YouTube purge and just agreed to myself two things, one was that none of the ponies on the show, the cartoon show, are real and there is no unknown technological theory to change that fact, the same as Equestria wasn't real and I was losing my mind over some made up world. I went straight to my bedroom, ignoring all the various pictures and posters reminding me of my little ponies, and went to bed. Closing my eyes, I know I lost my mind, for I swear I could hear something, or someone calling me.
It was almost midday by the time I woke up. I was shiting myself that I would be late for work, I grunted and rolled over to look at the time; Saturday 11:47 am. 'Thank fuck for Saturdays.' I thought, happy I wasn't late and happy I could stay home and sleep more. Apart from my little pony, work and some video games, I don't really do much BUT sleep. Its what keeps me, well i can't really say sane, but. Alive, thinking of the adventures, or misadventures of the made up land of Equestria. I decided against sleeping more and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. I got up for real after three attempts at it and closing my eyes again.
My parents, yes, better talk about them. Bastards. My mum abandoned me when I was ten and I haven't spoken or seen her since, dispute I know I should, I am never sure whether it was laziness or what, but I really couldn't care. And my dad, I don't know where he is, I left home as soon as university started and lost touch with him, shame, apart from the constant complaining and bullshit other nothing, he was fun to laugh at behind his back. So now I live alone in a small two roomed house I haven't actually brought, but in fact renting out from some German bastard. The home is for sale and one day I wish to actually buy it and not worry about bills, and rent, just overpriced, pointless bills.
Eventually I got up, and just wondered downstairs, still in some pajamas and went for some coffee. After a bit of toast and a drink, I went to check the mail; bill, bill, bill, spam, spam, fake. And so on for some time, after figuring out I'd seen this letter before, thus just went in a circle, walked back to the kitchen and dumped the crap mail and kept the bills, would be paid as soon as I get money. The gas and water bill was slowly rising, probably because the planet is on the verge of collapse, economically or governmentally, but no government of the world would admit defeat, the whole rumour of a third world war was slowly growing, mainly due to things between America and North Korea, or America and China, or America and Russia, or America and fucking Canada, America seemed to be pissing off a lot of countries, it wasn't helped by the fact North Koreas new leader is the guy from Gangdam Style, except more mentally insane.
I watched some crap on TV all day trying to laugh at the comedians having a go at, the world, but when one started about how we are all going to die in a fireball of pollution and mutants will start eating people, then a punch line came up, I had to agree, humanity will kill itself. One day.
The next day I found the Equestria thing come up again, and realized I actually wanted to go, but Equestria wasn't made for humans, so I'd have to be, a cartoon pony, I guess. Being with the ponies, the awesome Rainbow Dash, the mystical Twilight Sparkle, the shy Fluttershy, and the rest would be a laugh and some fun, but could, would never happen. Although I found myself openly calling for Equestria and wishing to go there. Then.
"That was weird." For a second an image of, something, came into my head, it was a darkish cyan coloured Pegasus, with a half red and half blue mane, walking, or flying? Around Equestria, with that cyan and rainbow coloured Rainbow Dash. It looked so real, the clouds, the wind, the colours, everything except the picture was in third person. I suddenly felt a shiver and the purple tea cup, wait, purple? Since when was my tea cup purple? Anyway, the, now somehow purple tea cup fell of the table and, well, hovered in the air for a second before floating to the ground unharmed. I blinked and the, now white again, tea cup was back on the table.
"I am definitely going insane." I said to myself, but the imagine, the calling last night, now the tea cup, all looked and felt. Real.
"Fuck."
