”She did it for a good reason.” Allgood said as she took a closer look of the heavy stone doors sealing the building's entrance. ”Solidified nightmares from the pre-discordian era, possibly as ancient as the princesses themselves... Can you imagine the anthropologic significance of studying them?”

”Ready as ever!” she replied. He carefully pushed the door, adding more force until its rusty hinges cracked free, allowing the heavy stone to swing inward and reveal a long, dark corridor within. She dug out a pair of lanterns from her bags, passing one to her husband as he curiously studied door he’d just opened.
”What is it, dear?” she asked, breaking his concentration.
”I just realized that these doors open inward. Isn’t it strange for a castle?”
Allgood shrugged. ”I don’t know. Why?”
”Yeah, it’s probably nothing.” he said, grabbing a lantern and leaving the door alone. ”Besides, we need to explore as much as we can while the Nightmare Night lasts - it will be another year before this place reappears from wherever it disappears to.”
She nodded in agreement, and the two ponies made their way deeper inside the structure. They followed the long, straight hallway devoid of any other doors, seemingly extending further than the physical dimensions of the castle. Finally, at the opposite end of the corridor they arrived at a pair of ornate double doors emblazoned with Luna’s cutie mark.
”I thought it would be more dusty in here.” Allgood remarked, brushing a hoof along the doors golden handle.
”Maybe it was cleaned by a ghost!” Shutter joked. ”Or what's more likely, the doors we came through were tight enough to hold the dust out.”
She rolled her eyes, carefully pushing the door open. To her surprise, it revealed was a well-lit royal dining room, with full moon shining through the stained glass windows and candelabras lighting up the otherwise darker corners. The table was set with a feast fit for royalty.
As she took a careful step inside, she could feel her husband’s hoof halt her in place. ”Something’s odd here.” he noted, gesturing towards the windows. ”There were no visible windows on the outside of the building.”
Before she could say anything, they nearly had a heart attack from the sudden boom of a royal canterlot voice.
”HAIL, MY LITTLE PONIES!” Princess Luna shouted, sitting at one end of the table.
”Princess Luna!” the adventurers said, quickly bowing down to her. ”We didn’t know you were still using this place!” Allgood apologized.
”WORRY NOT, MY SUBJECTS! YOUR UNFORESEEN ARRIVAL PLEASES ME!” Luna continued. This was the first time the duo actually met Luna, but her demeanor and use of royal canterlot voice seemed in odds with the stories about her integration into the modern society. ”BE SEATED AND PARTAKE IN MY GENEROSITY!” she added, gesturing towards the table.
”Yes your highness!” the ponies replied, hearts still thumping from the scare as they sat by the table. ”Scootaloo wrote highly about the time you helped her with her nightmares.”
”THAT IS GOOD TO HEAR! WHOM IS THIS SCOOTALOO?” Luna asked casually, levitating a large cauldron of soup to her two guests.
”Scootaloo? That’s our daughter.” Shutter replied. ”Orange pegasus, purple mane...”

”Can you walk? We need to get out of here!” she said, offering a hoof to him.

”There’s no time! We have to go now!” she insisted, looking at the cloud of smoke taking form beside him. With clenched teeth, he started to hobble towards the exit until a familiar voice behind him sent him running.
”INSOLENT MORTAL! GET BACK HERE THIS INSTANT!” Luna's voice boomed. Snap Shutter ran for his life, his swollen balls flopping about between his legs. He dove through the doors just as a furiously thrown tankard smacked him in the sack, breaking his stride and sending him tumbling on the floor. Allgood slammed the door shut behind them before quickly rushing over to help her fallen husband.
